Chapter 6 Jedi Stranded
Ralon and Jaster landed on top of a building. They drew their lightsabers but didn't activate them just yet. The two Jedi sprinted toward the building ledge and with incredible acrobatics leapt to lower ledges until they finally reached the surface. Overhead, they saw the Comorus Eagle flying back into space to aid in the battle up there. Ralon just hoped that it was not too late for that.
The Jedi Master closed his eyes for a brief moment, focusing through the force. The streets they were on was deserted at the moment, but Ralon could sense lifeforms around them in various parts of the city. There was conflict, and he could tell the Sith were winning, the presence of the defenders on Naboo was weakening fast. Overhead Sith fighters filled the skies. Things were looking bad.
"Let us join the battle Master!" Jaster said eagerly as he lit his lightsaber.
A blue blade came to life from the hilt with a snap hiss. Jaster wielded a single bladed lightsaber and followed his master's path of mastering the martial skills of the Jedi through the use of the lightsaber.
"No Jaster! We have a mission here!" Ralon said.
"Master we have to stop the Sith!" Jaster retorted. "Can you not sense the people dying!"
"Yes, I can sense it! There are too many!" Ralon said. "It will not do any good for us to just get ourselves killed."
"Oh come on we can take them! A Jedi has to worth at least a hundred soldiers!"Jaster argued.
At that moment, two squads of seven Sith troopers each appeared. They immediately stopped at the sight of Jaster's blue blade.
"Jedi!" one of them shouted.
"Yeah!" Jaster shouted in eagerness.
Ralon lit his lightsaber as well, a blue blade coming out from either end of the double-bladed hilt. He would have preferred to avoid detection as long as possible but hey what he do? The Sith Troopers opened fire upon the Master and Padawan who immediately fell into Soresu, the third and most defensive form of lightsaber combat. It exceled at blaster deflection. Jaster moved his blade from side to side, Ralon spun his double blade in front of himself while moving from side to side, dodging the bolts that would have slipped past his guard. The Jedi Master took one hand off his long handle and thrusted out, sending an invisible wave of energy toward the Sith troopers. Many of them lost their footing and were sent back a short distance. A few in the back however were just out of range of the push and continued firing with renewed determination.
Seizing the opportunity created by his master, Jaster switched forms to his preferred one of Ataru. He charged and jumped high, performing a somersault in midair. He landed between two of the standing opponents and slashed across the chest before turning and catching the other one. The last two standing both shot at him, and he backflipped, their bolts soaring past each other. While Ataru might have been more suited to fighting against a single opponent rather, a skilled practitioner would leap from one opponent to another, moving so fast that the enemy couldn't attack back in time. That was exactly what Jaster Grail did. He leapt up over the trooper behind him and with a swift stroke beheaded his helmed head. Then his lightsaber flew from his hand at the last standing one who let out a final shot that was reflected before he was sliced in two by the rotating blade.
Jaster would have been at risk of being gunned down by now. The troopers Ralon had pushed down would have risen again… had Master Ralon not already used his twin blades to finish most of them off. He'd moved with incredible speed, his double-bladed lightsaber a blur of motion as it carved through the Sith troopers before they could get up to fire again. Now only three remained, they saw their fellows were already cut down and new it was hopeless.
"Run!" one of them called.
He and another ran off while the last one held his wrist up to his face.
"We have Jedi in Kaadara! Need-
He was cut off and Ralon called upon the force once again, this time he brought the remaining Sith toward him with a force pull, his twenty years of training… only half of his lifetime… served him well. He deactivated one blade, enabling him to perform wider strikes such as those of Shi-Cho… the first and most basic lightsaber form. He slashed the first trooper down as he flew towards the Jedi Master, then with one final swing he finished the last, all of them were dead before they hit the ground.
"We got them!" Jaster shouted in thrill as he looked at his master.
"This is but a few soldiers my young padawan," Ralon said. "We-
Beep-beep. The comlink on the Jedi Master's wrist suddenly beeped. He brought it up to his face and immediately began running to a nearby ally. An image of Sergeant Casca appeared in the holocall.
"General Ogan… the Sith are winning the battle up in the sky! We can't hold out!" the Sergeant said.
"Retreat then! Alert the Republic!" Ralon told his comrade.
"Yes sir!" she said before the transmission cut off.
Ralon turned to his padawan who'd followed him.
"It seems we are too late."
"What do we do now?" Jaster asked as he extinguished his lightsaber.
Ralon deactivated his own weapon and stroked his short black facial hair. "We could go into hiding and wait for the Republic to show up."
"Boring!" Jaster pouted.
"Or… we could launch a series of hit and run attacks on the Sith in the meantime."
"I like that one!" Jaster grinned. "I'll leap in on a tank or something destroy it before they know what hit them!"
"Be careful though. We must exercise caution, my young apprentice. We will investigate and try to find out where they will be holding prisoners here in Kaadara."
…
On his Sith Warship, Darth Ferocus watched as the last Republic capital ship was blow to bits.
"Another planet falls to the Sith Empire my Lord!" his commander said.
"Yes, we are moving closer to Coruscant now."
There was a beeping.
"My lord, a transmission from Lady Linassa!"
"Patch it through," Ferocus said.
A hologram of the Sith Master appeared.
"My Dark Lord," Linassa bowed. "I've seized the city of Kaadara."
"Good, I'm awaiting a report from Lady Drakana about…"
Another beeping occurred and another Sith woman appeared, a human with long dark brown hair and brown eyes.
"My Lord… I've taken the Royal Palace of Theed," she said.
"Well done Lady Drakana. Yet I sense… something troubles you about coming here?" the dark lord asked.
"Its just… this is one world I would have preferred to avoid," Drakana said.
"Why?" Ferocus inquired.
"Well… I visited here once. When I was… wounded," Drakana said.
"Do not let yourself be blinded by debts! If these people were fool enough to not recognize you as a Sith they deserve no mercy!" Ferocus bellowed furiously as he pounded the transmission generator.
"Y-yes my Lord. Ah there you are! Give me that ale!" she demanded to a trooper near her!"
"Yes my lady!" the Sith trooper just outside the view of the hollow said.
Ferocus's orange eyes, corrupted by the power of the dark side, glared. He raised a hand and Drakana began to claw at her throat and she dropped the bottle.
"Remain sober while you are speaking to me! I will not have your alcoholic addiction interfere!" he ordered.
"Y-yes Lord Ferocus!" she said.
"My lord, I have some other news. I happened upon a force sensitive boy," Linassa said.
"Did you now? Well that is a good bonus to this pathetic planet!" Ferocus said.
Drakana looked at Linassa in surprise. "What is this boy like?"
"Well, he is certainly very strong in the force Drakana. If I recall correctly one of his companions shouted his name… I believe it was… Samal?"
Drakana's eyes widened. Though
"Well, begin his training immediately," Ferocus said. "Break him, make swear loyalty to us."
"Yes my lord." Liannassa said. "I'm sure Sadastra and I will enjoy this!"
I've been captured but the Jedi are on the world now. Hopefully they can save me before I get turned to the dark side. That will probably be difficult to resist. With the death of my martial arts master I could really be vulnerable to revenge and anger right now. Please review! Hope you are enjoying this so far.
