Sneaky little bastard…
Lord Vegeta set his hands down after his enormous blast just barely missed its target. After several hours of sparring, the Destroyer was still not able to land a single blow on his opponent. Each time, Goku would sneak away by milimeters. However, the younger Saiyan couldn't keep this up all day. Vegeta began to notice his Attendant slipping during his escapes, he just needed the perfect opportunity.
In the last hour or so, Goku's breathing started to become labored, almost as if he was starting to get winded from their fight. Lord Vegeta noticed this, laughing at his sparring partner."Getting winded are we Kakarot? I figured all that training you've done, you wouldn't be breathing this heavy after a little spar."
"Don't start getting cocky on me, keep your guard up." Goku states as he noticed a weak point in Vegeta's stance. The Saiyan lunges forward, jabbing the Destroyer in the abdomen. Vegeta's Attendant used this chance to get some distance between the two of them. This gave him a chance to catch his breath.
Vegeta fought to get air in his lungs after that jab. Bending over for a moment, Vegeta took a chance to collect himself. This was the first major hit his Attendant got on him, while Vegeta still hadn't landed a single blow.
The sting from the attack only seemed to fuel the Destroyer's rage. Damnit Kakarot! I will land a hit on you before this spar is over!
Seeing his opponent this winded however, had the Destroyer intrigued on exactly what Kakarot had been doing since coming to Other World. It was obvious he was much stronger than their last meeting, but for him to be winded after such a short time made Vegeta think someone had been slacking in their training.
A chuckle escaped the Destroyers lips. "Seems like you've been slacking Kakarot. Ususally it would take you a full day to start getting winded with one of our spars. Maybe I've finally become stronger than you after all." Quickly getting into position once again, Vegeta darted towards his Attendant. This time, Kakarot was ready for him, dodging every one of his punches. This frustrated Vegeta to no end.
The Destroyer's Attendant closed his eyes "You're never going to land a good attack on me if you keep your mind clouded like that during an attack. Thinking about my training won't help you land a punch on me."
Dismayed by the arrogance of his sparring partner, Vegeta bolted forward with never before seen speed. The Destroyer took advantage of Goku's shock, striking him twice before knocking him into a nearby plateau.
Vegeta's aura had transformed once again into that chaotic state. Purple smoke and energy eminated from his body as he rose into the air. "Stop lecturing me. You're the one getting winded from a six hour fucking spar." the Destroyer stated angrily before he let out a mighty war cry. Lookng down at his opponent, Lord Vegeta bridged the gap between the two warriors. The Destroyer barely gave his Attendant a chance to brush off his gi from the previous attack.
Before Goku acknowleged what happened, Vegeta began launching a series of blasts at him. He barely had a chance to put two fingers to his forehead. Once he materialized behnd the Destroyer; Goku swung his leg, nearly slamming Vegeta in the neck.
However, the Destroyer's hand caught his Attendant's leg. Putting a vice grip on the offending appendage, Vegeta spins Goku around before throwing him across the desert.
"Tch. Someone isn't taking this fight seriously." Vegeta crossed his arms and sat on the ground below him, waiting for his opponent to come back.
Lord Vegeta despised the fact his Attendant wasn't taking this battle seriously. What was the reason he wasn't tapping into his full power? Did Kakarot think he wouldn't need to put in one hundred percent when fighting the Destroyer?
The thought made Vegeta laugh audibly. With all the strength the Destroyer posessed, it would be foolish for Kakarot to not use every ounce of energy he could muster. Was there a reason he was holding back?
After what seemed like a lifetime, Vegeta's Attendant made his way back from the crater that was made. To the Destroyer's surprise, he did not seem to have powered up any. "If you come at me again with that power, I'll just keep tossing you into rocks."
"I have another idea." Goku mentioned as he pulled out his staff. "How about we take this up a notch? I think if we stay here, your little planet won't be able to take it."
Looking down at the cracked ground beneath him, Vegeta thought his Attendant may be right. "What's wrong? Don't think you can create a decent planet if this one blows?"
Vegeta's Attendant rolled his eyes. "Seems like you enjoy this planet. I could make another, but it wouldn't be the same."
Before Vegeta had a chance to say another word, the two Saiyans began levitating. The staff in Goku's hand lit up, causing the duo to disappear
After materializing inside another dimension, Goku looked around at the training space that was created. The area reminded him a lot of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. However, unlike the Time Chamber, the atmosphere in this room was extremely dense. Each inch of air was pushing on the inhabitants bodies at a crushing amount of pressure.
Upon further inspection, Goku noticed red sand beneath him. Skies above were almost crimson, only making the atmosphere seem even thicker. The two Saiyans have been in different dimensions to train before. However, this room in particular seemed more demanding than the others. The pressure was so intense, even Goku was having a hard time moving around as freely as he wished.
This was the kind of training room I had trapped away in this thing? This is insane!
The thing Goku didn't realize, it was his subconscious that created this dimension in the first place. Every Attendant is able to create a dimension built to withstand a Destroyer's wrath. After knowing Lord Vegeta for many years, Goku witnessed him blow up a training room or two… or three.
As Goku looked over at Lord Vegeta, he noticed he was having a tough time standing. The Destroyer was "You bring me to this damned place Kakarot?! Is this your idea of some sick joke?"
"It's a dimension inside of my staff. Similar to the ones Whis let us train in. On the bright side, I see something over there, maybe there's some food!" The one issue was, the rest station is barely visible over the horizion. It could take days just to get to it with as heavy as this room was.
Way to go Goku… The Attendant thought to himself. Couldn't I have just made it so the room only effected Vegeta? I guess this is what I get for not keeping up with my training.
"And just how do you propose we do that? In case you haven't noticed the pressure is too intense to move." Vegeta stated angrily.
"Oh come on Vegeta! This is just like the old days! Isn't it nice to actually have a challenge?" Goku looked at the Destroyer, noticing he was still very displeased. "How about this? The last one to the rest point has to cook dinner."
Knowing the Destroyer couldn't turn down a challenge; Goku looked at Vegeta curiously, waiting for his answer. The intensity of the room had already become more manageable for the younger Saiyan. He takes a step toward the tower, watching his opponent continue to struggle.
"Damn it, Kakarot! Fine!" The Destroyer angrily voiced. It had been a great deal of time since Vegeta had encountered training of this intensity. The last time a training space was so intense he couldn't move, was when he was still in the mortal realm. Even then, he was notorious for obliterating training spaces. He caused so much havoc in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Dende was forced to ban him from training there.
This space however, he could barely stand, let alone walk over a mile. Well played Kakarot. The Destroyer thought. We'll see who wins, just know I always do whatever it takes.
"Jeez Vegeta, did you really have to throw your boot at me?" The knot on Goku's head was unmistakable. The Saiyan could still feel the sand in his hair. During the final stretch, Vegeta's boot made contact with the back of his Attendant's head. Goku had been so focused on winning, he didn't notice the flying object until it was too late.
"I thought Angels were constantly using Ultra Instinct. Shouldn't you have dodged it yourself, great Attendant." The Destroyer remarked sarcastically.
"Hn." Vegeta's Attendant chose not to comment, out of annoyance. As he continued cooking for the two Saiyans, Goku couldn't help but recall the whole experience. It had taken several hours to gather the strength to begin actually walking. Both Saiyans began doing so around the same time.
However, Goku managed to grasp enough control over his energy that he was able to run quickly. The two warriors were close to the finish when the Attendant got the upper hand. Vegeta being the kind of person to not be outdone by anyone, had to take an opportunity to knock Goku down a peg.
This resulted in Vegeta's boot coming into contact with his Attendant's head.
Several moments of awkward silence ensued. The only noise that could be heard was from Goku's cooking. The Destroyer hated to admit how much he missed eating the Saiyan's food. After not tasting real Earth food in ages, it was nice to have someone that just knew what Vegeta liked. This was something he took for granted in the Mortal Realm.
Just then, words of the Oracle Fish rang through the Destroyer's head. If I only search for Kakarot's negative qualities, I will only have negative feelings towards him.
"What kind of training do Angel's get anyway? By the looks of it, someone's been slacking on theirs." Vegeta commented. "Being winded after just a six hour spar isn't like you, Kakarot."
Goku was taken aback by the Destroyer's question. It seemed strange that after nearly a week of Vegeta avoiding him, he was now speaking to him. Even going so far as to ask him about his training.
"My recent years in the Palace haven't been spent on personal training." Goku stated as he tried his best to concentrate on the cooking. "My most recent position was training Angels to become Attendants and even Guards for the Zenni's. As mentally challenging as it was, it was pretty boring." Goku chuckled from the kitchen.
"In the Palace, the only people that were stronger than me were Whis and the Zeni's. I've never tried sparring with the Zeni's, but Whis was too busy to spar most days. Today was the first day in nearly a thousand years that I've broken a sweat. The people I trained don't have near the power you do, Vegeta."
This news came as a shock to Lord Vegeta. It wasn't like his old battle partner to take on a challenge that didn't take strength into account. Enormous bowls of food began to arrive in front of the Destroyer, allowing him to brush off the compliment he was given. "Shouldn't all Angels have as much power as a Destroyer?" Vegeta asked skeptically, between bites of food. "Ultra Instinct can only get you so far, you have to have power behind it!"
"The only person that seemed to have a problem with their Attendant's "power" was you, Vegeta..." Goku remarked before going to the kitchen.
Lord Vegeta was taken aback. Never before had his Attendant left him speechless. A rage was burning inside; the Destroyer wanted to obliterate the person who had the audacity to speak to him this way.
"...But from what I heard, You're the strongest Destroyer in the Cosmos. Which is why a normal Attendant wouldn't suit you." Goku finished his sentence while bringing in the rest of the food, causing the Lord to simmer down rather quickly.
"Hn." Vegeta didn't take the time to answer as he filled his mouth, almost wishing he could go back to his room. The two Saiyans ate the rest of their meal in silence.
Once all the food had been consumed; Goku took his staff, and with a wave of his hand their mess was cleaned. This is so much better than doing dishes! I wish I would've had one of these things a long time ago.
The younger Saiyan smiled cheerfully before he got up from the table. "So, are you ready to go train some more?"
"In that hell hole?" Vegeta scoffed. "You might as well take us back to my planet, because I'm not training another second in that."
"Oh come on!" Goku retorted. "You're telling me the mighty Vegeta is afraid of a little bit of training." The Attendant held up two fingers, nearly centimeters apart. "Just a teeny little bit of training?"
Vegeta sat at the dining table in disbelief. He could feel his temple starting to throb. Now I remember why he constantly annoyed me. The Destroyer thought to himself. I should've obliterated him the first time I thought about it. As his aura began to glow, Vegeta stood from the table.
"Why do I need to train? I was tossing my Attendant into cliff sides hours ago! I can just Destroy you right here and not worry about it!"
Within an instant, Goku was behind Vegeta. This time, quicker than the Destroyer could react, his Attendant had struck him on his neck, causing his vision to blur before ultimately blacking out completely.
Well… I guess that's one way to quickly de-escalate the situation. I didn't plan on knocking him out cold. After Goku got the Destroyer moved somewhere more comfortable, he began to pace. Vegeta is not going to be happy when he wakes up.
The younger Saiyan could feel the nervousness creep into him. It wasn't like him to feel this way, usually only against an enemy he has no chance of defeating.
Has Vegeta gotten stronger than me?
Although Goku was well trained in the art of Ultra Instinct, it was clear to him that Vegeta was in possession of an undefinable power. Normally Goku would be excited to show off every ounce of his strength. In the presence of Lord Vegeta, his muscles freeze up. This makes his Ultra Instinct practices much more difficult. The Attendants emotions were clouding his mind on the battlefield.
One of the things Vegeta does best is observing his opponent. He is calculating every possibility in his mind as the cards unfold. This technique could be used for good in most situations. However, it caused Lord Vegeta to be particularly aware of flaws in his opponent. It infuriated Goku how the Destroyer constantly has negative comments to make about him.
I've gotta do something!
Looking toward the unforgiving dimension, Goku sighs. There was only one thing the Saiyan could think to do in a situation like this. Stepping out in the violent terrain, the Attendant begins with push-ups. The extreme winds were causing sand and other debris to fly toward him, only adding to the extreme conditions he was putting himself through.
I've gotta be able to help him control his powers. I can't do that if he's stronger than me.
