Several months have passed since Goku left the Palace. It seems the Angels have appreciated the silence, however most days just seemed too quiet now that he was gone. Not only were the Omni Kings getting bored of the games they were playing, even the Grand Minister missed the Saiyan pestering him about training.
Whis takes a good look around his office, for once all paperwork is finished. It helped not having constant files coming in. "I should probably pay a visit to those two Saiyans." The Grand Minister pondered. "I should probably congratulate them on not completely obliterating the Sixth Universe." Whis says with a chuckle.
Standing from his desk, the Grand Minister takes his staff, tapping the object twice against the floor. A portal surrounded him, transferring him across dimensions at the speed of light. It was one of the things Whis never got tired of. The vacuum of space was a magnificent sight.
It only took Whis eighteen minutes to reach Universe Six. Once on the outskirts of Lord Vegeta's world, The Grand Minister took a look around quizzically. "Hmm.. This is strange." It seemed as though Universe Six had an abundance of planetary activity. "I've never seen so many planets in this Universe. What could the Destroyer be up to?" Whis thought as he began to make his descent on Lord Vegeta's planet.
Once he landed, Whis was immediately taken aback by the quietness of his surroundings. Where in the world have those two Saiyans gone? The Grand Minister ponders before he summons his staff.
Taking a look inside the onyx orb, Whis looks through several dimensions before finding the one Goku and Vegeta habited. Interesting choice Goku, I wonder if your work is paying off. Whis observed for a moment, seeing a very dusty landscape, hardly able to make out the two figures that were projected through his staff.
"Grand Minister!" The Oracle Fish rushes to his side, surprising the Angel.
"My goodness Oracle, I've never seen you so flustered. What could possibly be wrong?" Whis gazed at the Oracle Fish, it looked like they hadn't slept for weeks. "Did you have a troubling vision?"
Oh troubling doesn't even begin to cover it. The Oracle Fish thought to himself. After the first strange dream of the two Saiyans in the shower, different versions of the same dream had been clouding his subconscious for as long as Goku and Vegeta have been gone. Some nights, the dreams were mild compared to the first vision. Other nights however, it was hard to erase the sadistic images that were etched into the Oracle Fish's memory.
"Oh! Who? Me?" The fish tried to deny the fact something was troubling him. As they lean their head against their bowl, their eyes slowly begin to droop closed. "I've been sleeping like a baby!"
"So not at all?" Whis observed with a concerned glance. "What is it that's troubling you?"
The Oracle Fish sighed, knowing they couldn't hide anything from the Grand Minister. "I've been having these… let's call them dreams." The fish stated. "I don't want to call them visions, because they're too horrifying to be true."
Whis' face shifted from concerned to curious. "What in the world are these… dreams about? It must be something disturbing by the look on your face."
The Oracle looked toward the sky, as if they were staring a million miles away. "Lord Vegeta and his Attendant. Engaging in unspeakable acts." A shiver crossed the fish's spine, wishing they could erase the images from their brain.
"What in the world? Unspeakable?" Whis was definitely curious as to what the Oracle was referring to. Instead of forcing the poor thing to relive the experience, The Grand Minister waves his staff over the fish.
A projection appeared in front of Whis. His jaw dropped at the crudeness of the Oracle's "dreams". Only able to handle a few seconds of the display in front of him, Whis quickly dismissed the images. The Minister quickly scrolled through several of the Oracle's dreams, unable to find words for what he was seeing.
Whis slowed his scrolling as he noticed a dream that was outside of the training realm. Lord Vegeta was powered up to the max. The Grand Minister continued to watch as the Destroyer obliterated galaxies at a time. Taking away every ounce of life in the Sixth Universe. Upon further inspection, Whis noted the absolutely devastated look on the Destroyer's face. As if Lord Vegeta had nothing else to lose.
Throughout the course of the dream, Vegeta's Attendant is nowhere to be found.
A shiver ran down the Grand Minister's spine. "When was this dream?"
The Oracle Fish answered easily. "This was one of the first. It has resurfaced on a couple of occasions."
Whis nodded before continuing his search. Just as he was about to skip a memory, he noticed something different. Pausing the dream using his staff, the Grand Minister magnified the image, focusing in on the Destroyer's neck, noticing large bite marks there, and corresponding ones on his Attendant. Hmmm…. I was afraid of this. I had thought long ago the two Saiyans had unrequited feelings for each other. This definitely complicates things.
Several thoughts went through the Grand Minister's mind. "Is this the most recent?"
The Oracle Fish glanced upwards. "One of the most recent. The vision that appeared before you arrived is probably the most… confusing one to me."
Closing his eyes, The Oracle displayed an image from his most recent dream. Three fighters were moving at an incredible pace, nearly looking like blurs on a screen. "I never got a good image of the opponent, but I did catch this."
The commotion on the screen stopped. It shocked the Grand Minister that he almost had a hard time keeping up with the three fighters. Above them, Goku and Vegeta gave each other a look before nodding to each other. What happened next, in the Grand Minister's eyes, was something he never thought he'd witness. Fusion? What would they need this for?
"Wow.. That is some dream Oracle." Whis stated, voice monotone as he continued. "Exactly how many of these dreams have you had? Have I observed them all?"
"You have seen all, Grand Minister. Several of the dreams occured before Goku arrived, I wasn't sure what they meant. The explicit dreams started once my Destroyer left with Goku to train in his staff." The Oracle Fish sighed tiredly. "I've barely slept since the two left."
Whis looks at the Oracle quizzically. "When was this?"
"Weeks ago sire." The fish recollected. "The first week Goku was here, Lord Vegeta stayed in his room, not even coming out when Goku brought food to him."
"Then one day, I saw him on the pond thinking. We talked for a few minutes, and then he went inside to eat. The two trained the next morning on this planet. I thought they were going to rip it apart! But sometime in the afternoon, the shaking stopped. I haven't seen the two since."
"Hmm." The Grand Minister pondered. Even if they are just dreams. If it happens more than a handful of times, it has to be reality. Oracle Fish are rarely known to have insignificant visions or dreams. The two Saiyans are known for going on training binges, but is this truly what happens behind closed doors?
"What's going to happen sir?" The Oracle Fish questioned.
"I wish I could say." Whis pondered. "I'm not sure what this means. I can't even begin to fathom what to do in this situation."
"Do you think Lord Vegeta is capable of destroying Goku and the entire Universe?"
The Grand Minister thought for a moment about the Oracle's question. "I just hope we never have to put him in a situation he feels it's the only option."
The Oracle Fish began to think, there were several routes that could be taken. "What if we let it be? The two have known each other for a long time. It seems only fitting they fancy each other. The marks I saw on the side of their neck represent a ritual in the Saiyan culture. It could be that the two are soulmates."
"Soulmates or not, it isn't the relationship that a Destroyer and Attendant are supposed to maintain." Whis mentioned simply.
"An Angel is someone who is supposed to keep a neutral stance in the Universe. There is no way you can maintain neutrality if you have attachments and other commitments that are getting in the way of their duties. Will Goku be able to stop Vegeta and reason with him if he decides to go on a rampage? Or will he justify his actions because of their bond?
"What if the day comes that an opponent bests Vegeta?" Whis questioned. "In reality, Goku will do anything and everything to protect the things he loves. Meaning he would disrupt the natural order of the Universe just to keep someone alive."
"These are some of many reasons this can't happen." Whis began pacing. "But the image of their fusion has me confused. Never before would the two willingly fuse. Watching the vision however, it makes me think their union has changed them in some way." The Grand Minister finished.
"What should we do, Grand Minister?" The Oracle pondered.
"Honestly?" Whis sighed, looking back at the image of the fused fighter. "I think I'm going to have a little chat with the Omni Kings when I return to the Palace."
I've about had it with all of this sand. I find it in every single crevice I have! Vegeta stood in the shower, pondering on his last sparring session with his Attendant. Progress was being made, but both Saiyans were coming back from their training a filthy mess. Due to the constantly terrible weather conditions, they never got a break.
"Tomorrow, see if that damned staff of yours can change the training environment. I'm tired of finding sand everywhere." The Destroyer states as he scrubs his hair intensely. In all honesty, Vegeta had lost track of how long they've been training in this space. He wasn't sure if the rules of time were the same as in their dimension. If he was being realistic, they've easily been here for more than six weeks. With more than two showers a day, Vegeta had his fill of the desert landscape that lay outside.
"Oh come on! It could be worse!" Goku states optimistically. As he looked at the Destroyer however, the younger Saiyan could tell he didn't enjoy the comment. "I'm sure there's something I can do. You may have to deal with thunderstorms though! Or even a Blizzard!" Vegeta's Attendant warned.
"Anything is better than the damn sand." The Destroyer grumbled as he rinsed his hair for the third time, still feeling sand in his hair.
"Or you could do what the space is designed to do, and stop thinking while you're fighting." Goku states nonchalantly, looking away from the Destroyer.
"Shut it alright!" Vegeta roared as he glared at his Attendant. "You should just do as I ask, that's what an Attendant is for anyway." The Destroyer puts shampoo in his hair for the third time, hoping it would be his last.
Laughing at the Destroyer, Goku walks up behind him. "Would you like some help?"
"Uh, no. I can bathe myself just fine." The Destroyer said curtly.
Shrugging it off, Goku walked over to the bathtub. He turned the faucets on before entering, deciding to take a relaxing bath. The younger Saiyan laid down, spreading his arms as he floated in the large bath. The near boiling water felt great on his skin after a long day of training.
After getting the sand out of every crevice, both Saiyans get dressed before Goku begins their meal.
While cooking, the Attendant couldn't help but think about the progress Vegeta had been making over their time here. Goku was a little surprised that the Destroyer had not asked to be taken back home weeks ago. Considering how little headway the older Saiyan was making, Goku was about to call it quits himself. The sandstorms have barely changed in their intensity. There are occasional moments where the sand begins to suspend itself in the air, allowing for a wonderful glittering effect. But the environment never relaxed completely.
The poor guy's brain never shuts off. I'm starting to think I'm never going to break through to him. Goku begins to think. No. I can't give up! There's gotta be something I can do.
Backing away from the stove for a moment, the Attendant waves his staff as his eyes close. Once he puts his staff away, Goku excitedly takes a peek through the doorway of the kitchen. Outside the rest area was a completely different landscape. Reminding the younger Saiyan of Earth, the terrain around them resembled Bulma's island home.
Countless training sessions occurred at this space. It was one of the few places the two boys could actually let loose back on Earth. Goku hoped that it would help the Destroyer to train to the best of his ability.
As Goku approached the glass walls leading to the training space, he got a better look outside. There was a rather large island the area rested on. Lush green grass blanketed the earth beneath him. There was a line of trees to the west, and in front of Goku was an endless sea. The waves calmly brushed up against the shore as he took in the rest of his surroundings.
This should do the trick. The Attendant stated to himself with a grin. After dinner, we will have to try out the new space. It was then Goku noticed the Destroyer walking toward him.
"Are you about to finish with dinner, Kakarot? I'm starv-".
The sight in front of the Destroyer nearly took his breath away. It was as if Lord Vegeta had time traveled thousands of years into the past. In front of him was nearly an exact replica of his favorite training space. It was an Island that his wife decided to build a small city on for their family and friends. Surrounded by the ocean, it was easy to use as much power as you desired.
"Hey Vegeta!" Goku said excitedly from his place by the door to the training room. "I just finished the place up! Whatcha think?"
"It's.." Vegeta was at a loss for words. There was a long moment of silence as the Destroyer made his way towards the glass. As he placed a hand on it, he looked to each side, taking in each detail of the space. "It's perfect, Kakarot."
"Good!" His Attendant said excitedly. Goku turns and heads toward the kitchen. "I'm going to go finish up dinner. We should test out the place after we fill up!"
Lord Vegeta watched as his Attendant walked into the kitchen. What in the world is this man up to?
Every fiber of his being was telling Vegeta that his Attendant had ulterior motives. He wasn't sure what they could be, but there had to be a reason for all of this. Why did he choose to make the landscape like our old training ground?
Dinner only took a few moments to finish. Once it was, Goku hollered at Vegeta to enter the dining room, the two Saiyans wasted no time getting their stomachs as full as possible.
Once finished, Goku made the dirty dishes vanish once again. With an excited grin on his face, the Attendant quickly made his way to their new training ground.
Inside the crator Vegeta made, his eyes closed as he felt the rain pour on his face. Although it was better than sand, the fact the weather conditions were constantly insane only added to the Destroyer's frustration. There's gotta be a way I can clear my head…
The two Saiyans had been training for nearly three hours. So far, hardly any progress had been made. Lord Vegeta was beginning to feel defeated. Spending an extended amount of time; The older Saiyan had honestly lost track of how much, in this training space and was exhausted at the amount of effort he was putting forth. It was nearly causing the Destroyer to go insane.
Of course it's so easy for Kakarot, the man is clearly an idiot! Barely has enough brain power to think and fight at the same time. Rolling his eyes, Lord Vegeta was clearly agitated. I've gotta relax.
Suddenly, Goku's voice popped into Vegeta's head. A Saiyan's first instinct is to fight. We are a warrior race after all. Close your eyes, let all other sounds fade away as you listen to the sound of your heart beating. The air breathing in and out of your lungs is what propels you to keep going. You just have to trust your instincts. The heart tells you what to do.
I believe in you Vegeta.
With his opponent approaching fast, The Destroyer closed his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he focused on the sounds around him, honing in on the rhythm in his chest. Slowly, all other noises disappeared. All Lord Vegeta could hear was the sound of his breath and his heartbeat. The drops of rain on his cheeks became less intense, until they stopped completely.
Moments later, Vegeta slowly opened his eyes to a cloudy sky that was slowly clearing. Looking down at his body, he noticed a soft aura radiating from him. Never before had the Destroyer felt so in tune with his body. He could feel all of his body parts working in sync to provide this exhilarating experience.
The Destroyer closed his eyes once again, wanting to savor this moment as long as possible.
As Goku approached, he noticed the clouds above him slowly beginning to clear. Smiling happily, he sees the Destroyer in the distance, his aura glowing purple as he stands in the crater he created. Landing outside the crater, Goku looks down at the older Saiyan. "Fantastic Vegeta!" Quickly making his way toward the Destroyer, his Attendant couldn't hide the joy he was feeling at the progress Vegeta had made.
Once he reached the base of the crater, Goku was all smiles. "I knew you could do it! Now, when the time is right, open your eyes. Let your body take the lead." Taking a seat on the ground, he waited for his sparring partner good-naturedly.
Several moments passed as Vegeta stood with closed eyes, aura never wavering. Goku noticed there were still numerous clouds in the sky, but the sun was beginning to peak out from behind them. As the Attendant was laying there, he began to notice patterns in the clouds above him.
A burst of light startled Goku. Quickly standing and looking around for the source, the Attendant noticed Vegeta's aura was glowing even stronger than before. As he opened his eyes, the Destroyer looked straight at the person in front of him.
"Kakarot." Vegeta whispered into the wind. The sound barely registered in the younger Saiyan's ears.
Before he was aware of what was going on, Vegeta was in front of his Attendant. Never breaking eye contact, his fist was in Goku's stomach. Before the younger Saiyan could double over, a hand was entangled in his hair. The Destroyer pulled his face to eye level.
As the two looked into each other's eyes, all clouds above them began to disappear. Neither were aware they were leaning towards each other until their lips grazed together.
Suddenly, a loud noise was heard throughout the entire space. A blinking light began flashing from Goku's left pocket.
The two Saiyans quickly disappeared from thin air, leaving the dimension empty.
