Chapter 34 The Honeymoon Part 8

It was early in the morning but Lucas was having trouble sleeping. The sun was just beginning to rise over the beautiful waters. He made a cup of coffee and quietly trying not to wake Elizabeth and Jack went outside to sit and watch the sunrise. He didn't know if it was anxiety, joy, or stress that was keeping him up. He knew Elizabeth always thought he was well put together. The truth was it was extremely stressful trying to find new ways to please your wife all the time and keep everything spontaneous. He did not want to lose that. He found himself having the same dream for the last five days and waking up all sweaty. In his dream, Elizabeth was really sick and she would be throwing up consistently. He kept trying to help her; there was nothing he could do. Then he would start sweating and wake up realizing Elizabeth is fine. He had not told Elizabeth about the dream. He thought he was going crazy. He sat down on the balcony and took some deep breaths, inhaling the fragrance of the fresh ocean waters.

It wasn't long before Elizabeth realized he was missing. She slowly snuck out of bed, being careful not to wake Jack. She came up behind him and gently put her arms around him from behind while kissing his neck. "Are you okay?" She asked in a worried tone.

"I am fine." He said as he took her arm and pulled her around to sit on his lap. "Watch the sunrise with me."

She rested her head on his shoulder and they sat there watching the sunrise. "I love you!"

"I love you too! He placed gentle kisses on her neck while enjoying the feeling of having her sitting on his lap. Lucas loved the comforting feeling that he felt whenever she was so close and in his arms. "I have never been happier than I have since you've come into my life Elizabeth."

"Lucas is something wrong? You have that look that tells me you are worried about something."

"You know me so well. It will be fine. Don't worry about anything; it's just my crazy imagination playing games with my head."

"Do you want to share it with me? Maybe I can help. If anyone knows about head games, it's me." She smirked.

He had to chuckle about that, thinking back to the triangle and how much pain he went through as she was trying to figure out where her head and heart were. "I'll be fine. The sun is almost up; we should wake Jack and Julie."

The scenic tour of the island was to leave at 8:00 and Lucas wanted to make sure they had breakfast before it left. It would be an all day adventure. They would spend time at each place on the tour. Lucas woke Jack by tickling his belly with his beard. Jack groaned and pulled the covers over his head. Lucas did it again.

"Daddy stop! I'm tired." Jack said rubbing his eyes.

"I guess I am going to have to go eat your pancakes." Lucas loved playing this morning game with Jack. It worked every time.

"No." He said loudly which made Lucas grin as Jack crawled out of bed.

The four of them walked to the midway where they found a place that served pancakes and sat down to have breakfast. Lucas made the smiley face on Jack's pancake with the syrup like he always did. Jack stabbed it with his fork and Lucas dropped his head onto the table as if he had died. Jack loved it when Lucas did that. Lucas cleaned up the table and took his wife's arm and placed Jack on his hip. They walked over to the boat dock where their tour would begin.

"Lucas what are we doing?" Elizabeth asked.

"Today we are going to tour the whole island." He said with a smile.

They got on the tour boat and their first stop was at East Matira Bay. It was surrounded by beautiful palm trees and tropical vegetation. The emerald color waters were beautiful. This was also the place to shop and had more eateries than the ones where they were staying. Elizabeth thought her and Julie would need to come back and enjoy some shopping before they left the island.

The next stop was a calm lagoon where the boat stopped to allow snorkeling in waist deep water with tame stingrays. Lucas was the first to get in the water. He loved a new adventure. Jack just observed from the boat. It wasn't long before Elizabeth and Julie also took their turn at snorkeling in the waist deep water. Jack just watched the stingrays swim in and out of the lagoon. He loved watching the fish.

The tour provided tuna sandwiches, chips and water for lunch. Lucas and Elizabeth sat watching Jack as he ate his chips and watched the fish swim around the tour boat. Jack's happiness brought pure joy to their hearts. Everyday had been special because they were there experiencing the wonders of the trip all together.

The last stop on the trip was Amanahune Bay. This was where they spent the most time. The lookout was beautiful. They could see the lagoon where they were staying from here. Jack was able to see all the volcanic rock formations from the island's ancient caldera. The best part of the evening for Lucas was the trip back watching the sun melt away in the horizon with his wife resting her head on his shoulder and his son sitting on his lap. He couldn't help but think how much sweeter his life was now.

They exited the tour boat and bought dinner to take back to the bungalow so they could enjoy the rest of the evening just relaxing. The day was so busy and they were all exhausted. Jack was going to sleep with Julie. Lucas had made plans for him and Elizabeth. "Take a walk with me." He said wrapping his arms around her with that mischievous look.

"What are you up to now, Mr. Bouchard? She teased.

He took her hand and grabbed a blanket from the room. "You will soon find out." He said in that low seductive voice.

They walked out on the beach and he lay the blanket down in the sand. He sat down on the blanket and patted the ground beside him signaling for her to join him. He removed her shoes and socks as well as his own. Then he took her by the hands and pulled her up intertwining their fingers they took a moonlight walk across the beach.

"Lucas you always make me feel like I am dreaming. Sometimes I think you can not be real. You spend so much time making every moment better than the last. I love you so much!"

"It's you Elizabeth. You make me better. You make me try harder. I can't tell you how much you've changed my life. I love you more with every possible day." He gazed into her deep blue eyes and leaning down he softly brushed his lips with hers.

She deepened the kiss and melted into his embrace. They danced in the moonlight on the beautiful sandy beach, swaying to the music you could hear from the midway. He picked her up with both arms and swung her around planting a kiss on her. Then carefully lay her on the blanket. The beach was deserted. She lay her head on his chest as they lay there just watching the moonlight. He ran his fingers through her beautiful, soft hair and she rubbed his chest. They comforted each other until they fell asleep to the sound of the waves.
