Chapter 38 The Honeymoon Part 12

Lucas and Elizabeth were so exhausted from their early morning adventure in the lagoon, they wanted to sleep in. Julie took Jack to the Pancake eatery to get him breakfast and then they came back to the room and dressed to go swimming. Lucas lay with his arm draped over Elizabeth's side, his hand resting comfortably on her abdomen giving it a gentle caress. He loved the warmth he felt with her in his arms. This was the first night in a week he had not had the dream. He was relieved the tea was working. He did feel a little more relaxed and at ease.

Elizabeth grabbed his hand, intertwining their fingers and pulled it around her. "I love you Mr. Bouchard, but you have worn me out with your little adventure." She said teasingly. "I could sleep all day. I feel so exhausted."

"The water will make you feel that way." He told her kissing the side of her cheek. "You can stay in bed all day if you like, but you have to get up by 7:00 p.m. I have a surprise for you."

"Another surprise? Love, when are you going to realize that you being here is all I need." She now turned to face him, finding his lips and giving them a gentle kiss.

"I will never get tired of your kisses Mrs. Bouchard," pulling her closer and returning her kiss.

"I love how you say my name when you are teasing me." She said with the biggest smile on her face.

"I love teasing and being teased by you." He winked and flashed that dimpled smile. "I'll tell you what, let me bring back some lunch and check on Jack and Julie, so you can rest if that is what you want to do."

"I think it is. We have done so much since we left Hope Valley. I am starting to feel home sick." She said quietly while closing her eyes.

Lucas rubbed her back, kissed her temple and then got dressed to go get lunch. He walked outside and Jack ran to him throwing his arms around him.

"Daddy!"

His suit now wet from Jack's swimsuit. Lucas was not bothered. He gave him a big hug and kissed his forehead. "What are you doing buddy?"

"I am swimming with Aunt Julie. Where's momma?" He asked curiously.

"She is going to sleep for awhile Jack, she is really tired. How about after I take care of your momma, then we build a sandcastle?" Lucas said excitedly.

"Yeah, Yeah!" Jack was now bouncing up and down in Lucas's arms with excitement.

Lucas brought back lunch for everyone and Elizabeth got up to eat. Then she went right back to sleep. Lucas was feeling a little bit concerned." Elizabeth, darling do you want to cut the trip short. We can leave tomorrow if you like? There is a cruise ship leaving port tomorrow for Vancouver."

"No sweetie, I'll be okay. I just need to rest." She said quietly and then closed her eyes again.

Lucas, Jack, and Julie went back outside after lunch and Lucas played with Jack. They built the biggest sandcastle. Jack liked swimming too. He was getting quite good. Lucas would let Jack ride around on his back while he went underwater pretending to be a dolphin. Jack would burst out with laughter. Julie would just smile at their interaction.

She couldn't help feeling happy for her sister for finding the perfect man. She had thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. She was almost dreading the idea of going back to Hamilton.

Lucas woke Elizabeth up for their evening surprise and they all cleaned up so they were ready to go. They took a stargazing tour around the island. They were fed dinner on the tour and Elizabeth rested her head on Lucas's shoulder lacking even the slightest energy.

"Lucas once again you never cease to amaze me. This is beautiful." Elizabeth said. Jack was also enjoying it, while he sat on Lucas's lap. Lucas was pointing out all the constellations. Julie considered astronomy to be art so she was in heaven on this adventure. It was about 9:00 when the tour ended and Lucas noticed Elizabeth had nodded off on his shoulder. He was becoming very worried.

They went to bed early he just held her as she slept admiring her beauty and hoping she would have more energy in the morning.

The sun rose, Elizabeth was still exhausted, and didn't want to get up. Lucas was going to go get the doctor from the infirmary while Jack and Julie sat with Elizabeth. He first asked Lucas how he was feeling as they made the short trip to the bungalow and he told him the tea had helped and the dream had stopped. They walked in and Lucas, Julie, and Jack stood there while he examined Elizabeth. The doctor started laughing. "Well Mrs. Bouchard you are completely healthy."

"Why is she so tired then?" Lucas asked concern evident in his voice. "I don't find this funny doc."

"Mr. Bouchard your wife is carrying your children." He said laughing.

All of them froze and looked at each other. "I'm, I'm going to be a father again!" He said a little anxious, stuttering.

"Wait you said children?" Julie asked looking curiously at the doctor.

"Mr. and Mrs. Bouchard you are having triplets! Congratulations!" The doc said excitedly.

Elizabeth and Julie just smiled for it was a rare blessing to have triplets. Panic set in as Lucas doubled over and passed out on the floor.

"Julie did my husband just faint?" Elizabeth asked laughing.

They were all laughing at this point. "Yes he did!"

Jack was confused.
