Cooper Gang in the Animalympics

The Cooper Gang just earned themselves a nice reward to see the once in every 4 years event, Animalympics! 14 days of competition to see, but crime could be running amok when they least expect it, and when it does happen, they'll stop it from ruining the games. They might even get the chance to compete in a few games as well as a reward! Read on and see!

Cooper Gang in the Animalympics

Chapter 1: Let the games begin!

(Sly Voiceover)

My gang and Carmelita just stopped another crime spree in Istanbul where someone was doing illegal spice trade there. Our boss congradulated me and Carmelita with some medals and something unexpected, 5 first class tickets at a place I always wanted to go to: the Animalympic island. And how perfect, it was time for the games to begin again after 4 years. Having watched the first games many years ago, I just wanted to go to and cheer for my favorite athletes, but not steal anything. Gold medals are never satisfied through stealing only through hard work, which I assured Carmelita of, watching over me. She didn't mind that I wanted to bring along Bentley, Murray, and Dimitri, though, and besides she loved to go as well. Our boss did however, tell us to watch for any suspicious behavior happening in the games. So without any further ado we packed our bags and gear and headed over to Animalympic island.

The Cooper Gang arrived at their destination with smiles on all their faces, after all, anyone spectator or athlete would feel honored to feel like a part of history stepping foot onto this majestic place. It was the opening ceremony where everyone assembled for the lighting of the torch once the runner bearing it arrived. It was a coyote this time compared to the last one where a rhinoceros ran with it into the arena. The runner stopped just before the main torch, which could only be lit after the speech from the mayor, a walrus spoke, which was "Let the fur fly!" while making V signs with his hands in the air. With that, the torch was lit up in a blaze of glory.

The Cooper Gang watched with great interest at the first and main event, the marathon. It was a wide range of runners for this event, which would last 14 long, grueling days without rest. According to the anchor turtle Howard Hummel, how anyone would train for a race that long, was beyond him or anyone else. At the head of the starting line were the two favorites and co-winners from the previous Animalympics: Rene Fromage and his partner Kit Mambo, who were at first rivals, but then started a romantic relationship in the last leg of the marathon. The two smiled at each other pleasantly, as the Cooper Gang observed from afar with their binoculars, Sly and Carmelita smiled at their friendly rivalry, and then subtly smiled at each other as it reminded the two of each other, how it took a while to trust one another. The whistle blowed and off the runners ran, the start of the main event of the games. While all this was happening, the stork Barbara Warblers introduced and commented on the action in a unique accent.

"Just wook at all wose competitoes wacing out of the awena! Off they gow!" This was just the first day of 14 long days of competition in a plethora of many events testing athletic ability, the Cooper Gang had to be careful of any suspicious activity, anything can and will happen. They only hoped that the events that they worked so hard to see would be all worth it.
