Aki's POV:
~ At work ~
While I was on my break, I couldn't help but stop texting Daiki and laugh. After the club, we decided to go to the nearest diner, but I wanted to make sure Sara will be okay and she was already up for me to go spend time with Daiki.
All we did was talk and there was not one ounce of judgement, especially when I mentioned my son, Yuta. Every time I tried to have a conversation with a guy my age and when I bring up my son, they either call me names or walk out on me. But he didn't. In fact, he wanted to meet Yuta, but I don't him it's too soon, and that I didn't want to introduce just a guy I met to my son.
And he was so understanding about it, which made me happy. He also told me he is a mechanic and into computer work as well...just like Yusei, but I highly doubt their that similar.
'Are you busy Saturday?' Daiki messaged.
'Sorry I have plans with my son, we always have mother and son time on Saturdays.' I messaged back. Due to my work schedule, Saturday is the only days where my son and I can actually spend time together.
'How about Sunday?'
"What's Sunday?"
I jumped and Sara started laughing.
"Sara! Don't sneak up on me like that!" I turned red from embarrassment.
"Sorry I couldn't help myself." Sara giggled. "So it seems you and Daiki are getting really comfortable." Sara teased.
"It's not like that! We're just getting to know each other." I said, blushing. "Besides, it's not like he finds me attractive or anything."
"Oh, stop it Mika. If he didn't find you attractive he wouldn't of been messaging you and he didn't run away when you told him that you were a single mother. He's pretty much asking you on date." Sara said.
'I hate it when she makes a point.'
"Not to mention he is hot ass fuck, I never seen a guy like him around Domino which says a lot coming from me. Just say you're free Sunday and go on that date." Sara said.
Going on a date wouldn't be so bad and if it doesn't go well, then so be it
"Fine."
'Yeah, I'm free Sunday.' I replied. Sara looked at my phone anxious.
'How about we go out for dinner at restaurant? I'll pick you up at 8.' Daiki messaged.
'Sounds great.'
"I'm so proud of you Mika! I feel like a proud mother!" Sara smiled and hugged me, and I laughed a bit.
Author's POV:
~ 2PM ~
While Aki was working on some documents, her phone started ringing and it was from the school. She got up from her desk and went to the break room.
"Hello, this is Ms. Masaki."
"There's been an emergency regarding Yuta, we need you to come to the hospital immediately!" The school's teacher said.
"I'm on my way!" Aki hanged up and ran out, but she bumped into Divine.
"We need to stop bumping into each other like this." Divine joked.
"Sorry I have to go!" Aki ran out of the building to go to Yuta's school.
"Are you alright, Mr. Divine? I'm so sorry about that she is never usually like that. It's probably a woman thing." Kenton said. Sara saw the whole thing and literally was burning wholes through this guy's head with her eyes. Divine just smirked at bit.
"It's quite all right. Accidents happen."
~ At the hospital ~
Aki storms in and went to the help desk.
"Excuse me ma'am. I'm looking for my son Yuta Masaki." Aki said, frantically.
"I have a seat ma'am we're already busy as it." The woman said, rudely.
"Just tell me which room my son is in and I will be on my way." Aki said, trying to stay calm.
"Just have a seat, maybe if you young mothers were more responsible maybe he wouldn't be in the predicament." The woman snapped. Aki lost her temper and grabbed the lady by her shirt and her eyes were flashing yellow, and she pulled the lady to her face.
The building started quaking and the woman started shivering when she saw Aki's eyes.
"I'm going to ask you again. Where. Is. My. Son?" Aki sneered, tightening her grip.
"R-r-room 1-145." She answered. Aki shoved her back and ran to the room.
Aki quickly reverted her eyes back to normal and tried to calm herself down, because she doesn't want to expose herself even more than she already did. She found the room and opened the door and saw her son holding a bloody rag to his forehead, and saw his teacher.
"Mommy!" Yuta said. Aki gently hugged him and he started crying his eyes out.
"What happened to him?" Aki asked.
"He was pushed during recess and he hit his head. The boys who did this to them are being suspended." The teacher said.
"Thank you Mr. Fujii, for staying with him. No teacher has done that for him."
"It wasn't a problem at all. If you need to he can stay home for a couple of weeks until he's fully recovered." The teacher smiled and bowed leaving the hospital.
Yusei's POV:
When I was working on my runner, someone walked in my garage that I rented for the month, and I saw it was Fujii. I hired him to make sure my son will be safe at school and made sure he got that job as his homeroom teacher, so he can keep me updated.
"You're here early. I thought school ends around 3." I said, tightening a bolt. I looked at him and noticed he was sweating bullets and he was shaking. I glared at him and I held on my ranch, and stood up.
"What happened?"
"I'm so sorry, sir! I swear it wasn't my fault, Yuta was only playing on the swings and then a couple of boys pushed him down, and before I knew it he was bleeding all over his head! But, I did rush him to ER and I called Aki...but he will need stitches and that all!" Fujii said, frantically.
"You mean to tell me my son is in the hospital getting stitches, because you didn't protect him like I asked?" I said, calmly whipping the oil off my hands on a rag.
"On the bright side, the doctor's said it could of been worse...at least your son is stronger than he looks." Fujii laughed, nervously. I hit him upside the head with the ranch and he held his head, weeping. I kneeled down a front of him.
"That's not the point. The point is my son got injured under your watch, he could of got a serious head injury or be exposed." I kicked him on his stomach. "You had one job." I grabbed him by the neck, eyes flash blue.
"Yusei, that's enough already. He learned his lesson." I turned and saw Crow, crossing his arms. "Don't do a Jack move."
"Fine." I dropped Fujii. "Next time I won't be so nice." He scrambled out of the garage and drove home.
"Damn, you sure did a number on him Yusei. Never thought you would be the aggressive type." Crow said.
"When it comes to my own flesh and blood it's a different story. Besides, he will heal it's not like he's a mere human being." I said, going back to my runner.
"True. Are you sure this is a good idea? You are lying to Aki...again and look what happened. She ran off along with a kid you just found out that's yours. You need to be smart about this." Crow said.
"I know, Crow and I am. After Aki left I haven't been the same, I know that I fucked up, but I'm trying to make amends about this. I want her to understand that I am sorry and I am willing to try." I confessed. Aki and I been through so much together, but then I became more selfish towards her. When she cried from physical or emotional pain I just ignore her, and when she is happy I make her feel like a burden.
"By pretending to be someone else. I know you are worried she is going to leave again, but this is going to make it worse." Crow said.
"It will get worse, if I get caught. I know what I'm doing."
My phone vibrated and I unlocked my phone and saw Aki messaging me.
'I can't make it Sunday, my son go injured and I have to take care of him. Maybe another time.'
"What are you going to do now?" Crow asked. He looked at the message.
"I can always surprise her."
Aki's POV:
After an hour and a half at the hospital, I finally took my son home. I called my job and told them about the incident, and I won't be coming back to work today or for the next week or two until Yuta is fully healed. My boss wasn't so keen on the fact, but I didn't care at this point.
I parked at my apartment and gently carried Yuta in the house, and carefully placed him on the bed. Due to the prescription medicine, Yuta fell right asleep and I gently rub the bandage on his head and kissed it trying not to cry. I tucked him in and went to the kitchen to find something to cook.
If he was human it would of been worse, his injure will heal in a couple of days, but in order to keep a low profile I agreed with the doctor's terms. Even though he will heal, a head injury is very serious especially for kids his age and since he hasn't shown other signs of his awakening I don't have to worry about people like Divine trying to get his hands on him.
This whole Arcadia Movement is giving me chills, especially that Divine. Sure the place sounds like a safe haven to people who are "gifted", but I can't shake the feelings of those cold eyes there is no way a guy like him wouldn't help others, unless he finds use of them. The way he looks at me makes me sick to my stomach.
I'm just glad he wasn't there at the hospital, I was lucky enough there wasn't a lot of people around when I had a disagreement with that lady. I really do need to keep it together or I'll risk everything.
'Especially, Yuta.'
I was so deep in thought, I didn't realized at first someone was knocking on my door and when I snapped out of it I walked up to the door and looked through the door hole, and I saw Daiki holding a stuff animal and some roses, and I opened the door.
"Daiki? What are you doing here I thought you would be at work?" I asked, surprised.
"I got off early, I want to make sure Yuta was doing okay. May I come in?" Daiki asked.
"Sure, of course." I said, I step aside and let him in, and I closed the door behind me.
"Here I got you these." Daiki said, giving me a banquet of roses. They were so beautiful and very deep red, I never seen roses this dark before their so gorgeous.
"Oh, thank you." I smiled and I saw a tint of red on his cheeks.
"No problem. Sorry if this stuff bear is too much." He said holding up a giant teddy bear and I giggled a bit. "I wanted to cheer up Yuta since he had a rough day."
"Thank you so much. I'll put it in his bedroom, why don't you have a seat I'll be right back." I grabbed the bear and went back to Yuta's room.
'This is the first time I ever had a guy at my place. I hope I don't embarrass myself.'
Author's POV:
While Aki went to deliver Yuta's bear, Yusei was in the living room and he was looking at some photos and he caught a scrapbook labeled "Yuta's baby photos". He opened the book and he felt a pull in his chest when he saw a photo of Aki holding a new born Yuta in her arms.
He saw how Yuta has the same coloring hair as him black with golden highlights. The more he looks at the photos of Yuta's first walk, going to pre-k, and others of him and Aki being happy and smiling, he started to feel more mad at himself.
When Aki and Yusei were dating for the first time, they were un-separatable and in love. Then things changed, Yusei started to become more powerful in power and status and since then he's been neglected Aki. He would only see her if he wanted sex from her or just to look good when he has those important meetings, because since she was known as a beauty from their world he wanted to show her off.
Aki tried her best to be patient with him, hoping that this was just a phase and he will go back to the guy she deeply loved. Six years ago, she found out she was pregnant and she wanted to tell him, because she always wanted a family and Yusei, but when she went to his room to tell him she found him kissing another woman.
Yusei saw Aki and pushed the unknown woman away, and that's when Aki cracked. Her eyes turned yellow and everything in the room was trashed in seconds, and that's when she ran off and never looked back not even for a second. That's how she ended up in New Domino City wanting a fresh start.
After she was gone, Yusei kept himself isolated from his friends and others until he received news that Aki was at New Domino, but with a different name and with a son. He decided to put on a disguise and went to go find her and now he's main goal is to make Aki and Yuta happy, hoping that one day he will tell them the truth and convivence them to go back to the Satellite.
'I won't make that mistake again. I swear.' Yusei thought.
"Everything okay?"
Yusei jumped and quickly closed the book, and put it back on the shelve.
"Yeah, um I'm sorry for snooping...I was just curious."
"No, you're find sometimes I find myself looking at those photos too. He's growing up so fast...no matter how many parenting books I read I'm still not prepared yet." Aki said, looking sad.
"You're a great mom, A- I mean Mika. I've seen parenting and you are doing a far better job than most parents these days." Yusei said.
"Thanks, Daiki. He's the best thing that ever happened to me." Aki said.
"Mika?"
Aki looked at him with curiosity.
"I want you tell me about Yuta's father."
