Seeing the village as it used to be.

Before the Pain attack, before Tsunade became Hokage, or Kakashi and himself became Hokage as well, before the village extended to behind the Hokage monument. It was weird for him to NOT see Tsunade, Kakashi, and himself carved into the mountain.

"It's that boy."

'Right, this again too.' Naruto didn't mind the hateful looks too much, because he knew for a fact that he was capable of getting them to accept him. They were blinded by hate at the moment, hatred that he knew himself capable of taking care of. Running errands for Genin missions sucked, and he noticed that his teammates were oddly quiet this time around.

Sasuke, that made sense.

Sakura, on the other hand, was just giving him strange looks like she didn't even know who he was, but after what he showed off, that was to be expected. He had allowed himself to go a little too far against Kakashi, showed off a little too much, and it seemed to have shattered her view of him to some degree.

Sasuke DID send him small glares every now and again.

'Still obsessed with revenge against Itachi... and he doesn't trust me enough right now, so even if I tell him the truth it won't matter.' Naruto wanted to tell Sasuke everything, but he had no proof and his words carried no weight. His power didn't matter at the moment when it came to Sasuke, and Sasuke was too prideful to ask him for help.

This was his best friend as a child.

Just as difficult to deal with as he remembered him being, and while it was slightly nostalgic for him, it was JUST as annoying as it was heart warming.

"So Naruto, how long have you been this strong exactly?" Kakashi on the other hand was different.

There was respect.

Kakashi was showing more affection and respect for him now, which was nice, but different. He guessed it should be expected, Kakashi was seeing him as his father's son at the moment, not just that, but somebody who had surpassed the 4th Hokage at the age of 12. To his sensei, he must seem like a peerless genius above the level of his parents, who had managed to keep his strength a secret from everyone for years.

Kakashi wasn't treating him like a student.

He was being treated like an equal, which wasn't the type of relationship a new Genin and a experience Jonin would normally have, but strength was the great equalizer. The strength that he had shown was too great for Kakashi to just sweep under the rug in order to treat Naruto like an inferior. It was the appropriate way to treat a Jinchuriki with Tailed Beast mastery, it was similar to how Killer Bee was treated by others in a way.

"Years, can I ask you a question about your Sharingan?"

"As long as it isn't too personal, sure."

Naruto glanced back at Sasuke, who had changed his glare from Naruto, to staring at Kakashi was eyes filled with curiousity and ill natured intent. Naruto looked at Kakashi who was just walked calmly as they went to report the Weed Picking mission finished.

"When I entered Sage Mode, I sensed that there was another Sharingan just like it... the chakra in your Sharingan, I sensed there was another one of it somewhere in Fire Country... does somebody else have the same Sharingan as you?"

...

It was subtle, but Naruto knew Kakashi's tells. He saw Kakashi slow his walk down slightly, and his eyes unfocused on his book. He glanced at Naruto quickly, very quickly, before he furrowed his brow.

"Senjutsu lets you sense like that?"

"It does."

"... and you sensed another chakra matching the one in my Sharingan?"

"Yes, but it wasn't just a Sharingan, it felt like it was a complete person with a Sharingan... I sort of got a vision of him." Naruto explained as he tried to hint at something. Kakashi was completely ignoring his book, AND Sasuke/Sakura behind them in favor of now directly looking at Naruto.

He was looking for lies.

Good.

Naruto wasn't going to tell Kakashi lies about Obito, but he wanted Kakashi to know the truth sooner rather than later. He just needed to give Kakashi the information in a way that was realistic, something that he could say he could accept without much questioning. The "how and why" needed to be told in a way that wouldn't get questions.

"Oh, and what did he look like, the guy in this vision?"

"... He was tall, he had black hair, kind of like mine but shorter... and the right half of his body was covered in a scar, like he had been crushed by something... and he was missing the Sharingan in his left eye." Naruto described Obito to Kakashi.

Kakashi was thinking.

Kakashi was putting the pieces together, and Naruto internally smiled.

'... Naruto shouldn't know that Obito's right half was crushed... that was too specific for just a book description, and he did explain how Obito looks as well... Sage Mode does have great sensing powers... that means...' Kakashi thought as he placed his hand on his chin, putting everything together in his mind. He scanned Naruto's face, but he detected nothing that would suggest that this was a lie either.

'... There is another Uchiha out there...'

Naruto could practically read Sasuke's mind as he glanced back at the stunned expression on his face, because that would be news to Sasuke as well.

"What is more surprising is this is the second time I've recently sensed him, years ago I sensed him in the Uchiha district... back when the incident happened... he was working together with that guy who killed the clan." Naruto didn't look at Sasuke when he said this, and Kakashi's eyes hardened when he did the math.

Kakashi realized the truth.

'Obito survived... and he's a traitor now.' Kakashi grit his teeth under his mask, and unlike Naruto, he glanced back at Sasuke. He saw that Sasuke had stopped walking completely and had jusy absorbed the information with a shocked look, as if his whole world had been shattered by some information he had not expected. 'So Itachi didn't slay the Uchiha alone... it was a team effort, meaning this was planned... but who planned it?' Kakashi looked at Naruto again to try and see if maybe Naruto was wrong.

Naruto had said those words with such certainty though, and as hard to believe as it was, Sage Mode was not a joke. Sensing something in Sage Mode was to be treated as a fact, because it wasn't wrong.

"Sasuke-kun?" Sakura stopped walking and gave Sasuke a concerned look.

"... I'm going home."

Sasuke just vanished, abandoning their low rank mission completely so that he could go home and think about the information. Naruto looked at Sasuke leaving, knowing exactly what he was feeling.

'If there is another alive Uchiha who was there, then that meant Itachi was lying to him on that night. Sasuke is smart, since I didn't tell him that information, but told Kakashi, he won't doubt my words as much. Since I didn't mention Itachi's name directly, he won't assume that I'm talking to him... Sasuke now has reason to doubt... good-' Naruto started to think.

*POW*

"Naruto, you jerk, Sasuke's clan was wiped out! You need to be more sensative when you talk about the Uchiha around him!"

Naruto was holding the back of his head in pain.

'Forgot... this Sakura isn't mature yet, yep... yep yep... this is the violence that I forgot about.' Naruto remembered this pain well as he cradled the back of his head, and he saw Sakura running off after Sasuke. "Oooooow!?" Naruto groaned at the hit.

He didn't deserve that, but there was no point in trying to change Sakura now. Not when she was still untrained and immature, she only started to mature after she experienced pain, loss, and was trained by the sadistic teachings of Tsunade. It was her pain that allowed her to become less angry and violent, so until then, he would just have to take a beating now and again.

"You were a little insensitive." Kakashi pat Naruto's head.

"Yeah yeah... ow... since they are gone now... want to get some ramen... your treat?" Naruto asked with a grin.

Kakashi nodded.

-Later, Kakashi's Apartment-

"So Naruto, that was a good meal... and I think I should be honest with you. That person who you sensed... was another student of the 4th Hokage like me. He gave my my Sharingan, and I thought he died in the last war... Obito Uchiha. Are you sure he's alive?" Kakashi asked for clarification, because of the small hope.

He hoped that Obito was dead.

He truly hoped that Obito had not participated in the Uchiha slaughter, because then Obito would truly have been a traitor.

"If I sensed him, he's alive. Sorry, I didn't mean to make you sad."

"It's fine, but I've got quite a bit to think about. We just got here, but I think I need to be alone for a bit to process this."

"Okay Kakashi-sensei."

Naruto nodded, because he could honestly tell that Kakashi was horrified and saddened by the news that Obito was alive, but he needed to know. Right now Obito was evil, and if he did things right, he could save Obito sooner rather than later.

Saving Obito was important.

If he saved Obito, then he could save nearly all of the lives that were lost during the 4th Shinobi War, which would number in the tens of thousands easily. He felt bad that he was going to hurt Kakashi, but he knew that in the end that his teacher would find more happiness if they could turn Obito good again.

He had a long list of people he wanted to save.

His friends who died.
The Jinchuriki who lost their lives.
The shinobi who died for revenge.
Certain members of the Akatsuki who he befriended.

It wasn't even as easy as just killing certain people either.

Some of the people he could save lives by killing had proven to him that they were great and loyal allies in the future. He could go and kill Orochimaru right now, but then they would be losing out on an ally in the future who had turned over a new leaf. In the future, Orochimaru had truly had a change of heart and become loyal to the leaf thanks to the second chance he had been given. He KNEW that Orochimaru could change, so killing him would be denying him the ability to make that second chance happen.

Some people needed to die.
Some people would make things easier by dying.
Some people had proven to him that they could earn their second chance.

'Gaara, Yugito, Yagura, Roshi, Han, Utakata, and Fu... I won't let the Akatsuki kill any of you this time around... Kaguya will never be revived, and I will make sure Black Zetsu gets killed the second I see him... this won't be easy... the Akatsuki are still a threat if they work as a team.' Naruto left Kakashi's apartment with a lot on his mind.

Killing was easy.

It would be much harder to save as many people as possible.
