Midoriya's back slammed into the mat, breaking his concentration and he groaned before climbing to his feet again. This had been a rather common occurrence throughout the few days he was spending with the Ninja hero. Every day they would spar at the crack of dawn until Midoriya was black and blue all over, after hours of hell they would get breakfast which was light to prevent them from getting sick as they moved to strength and agility training. The hero had claimed the boy relied on his quirk too much and that he never fought with his fists which in certain situations would be more beneficial than any blade or weapon could be. Then they would study different ways that weapons were forged as they tested earlier in the week how to make his quirk stronger. This proved fruitful as the weapon that he had created required less work to maintain and create, but he had to in turn learn all the weapons all over again in an even more in depth level than before. Next was lunch and it was light again but it was more than breakfast so that they would meet their calorie requirements, as they had to eat more since they were constantly exercising and doing hero work. They spared for the rest of the evening mixed with different side kicks so that Midoriya didn't pick up bad habits from fighting the same opponent constantly. This led them to dinner where they had a large dinner, and they talked about different things. As much as this was an internship, Edgeshot still cared to know the boy who had first peaked his interest. He found out he was dating the creation quirk girl, and that he had named himself Archangel to protect the people he cared about. He knew what it felt like to be made fun of and ridiculed by those who are supposed to support him and help, instead they broke him down until he finally changed into the person he was now. He valued the companionship between friends the most and worked hard no matter what was going on, refusing to be the reason why someone died or was hurt on his watch. In turn, Midoriya talked more with the hero about his life and his time at UA. They talked for hours, working on different exercises or studying into it to make sure that they were being productive even when relaxing.
"C'mon! You're gonna let your concentration lapse from a love tap!" Edgeshot yelled at Midoriya again before swinging at him again, but the green haired boy dodged back and willed the armor to appear on him again. It was shockingly white and futuristic, resulting in armor that left his joints free and his body protected. However, the focus was on two things. (Think of an all white Interceptor Javelin from Anthem.) Bright metallic wings that were able to lift him up in the air and let him fly for a long time, and a helmet that was reflective on the front and the same color on the rest of the helmet. (Vanita's Helmet) He strained and created a japanese katana, focusing on it making him break out in sweat, part of his armor flickering before becoming solid again. "Good! Now fight!" Edgeshot yelled using his quirk, turning himself into an extremely quick spear. Midoriya countered and stopped him with his forearm and swung the japanese sword down, quickly after using his wings to push him back. However, due to only having this ability for an hour he flew too far slamming into the wall, losing his concentration and falling to the ground. He tried to get up but fell, Edgeshot catching him and setting him down slowly. "In one week, we have changed you from a sword loving idiot, into a weapon loving idiot." The pro hero joked and chuckled as his student swore from his place on the ground. However he was right, when they had started he had struggled with some of the things that the pro had asked him to do but now he was pretty much able to do whatever he threw at him.
"That's actually so tough. It took days for me to actually listen to you, then another day to create more than shields. It took me all day to get that armor even visualized and it saps me." Midoriya panted on the floor, he had already gotten rid of his shirt and sweats in favor of just loose shorts. He laid there as Edgeshot handed him some water, and he drained the bottle quickly. He was dying of thirst even though every spar ended with a large bottle of water that was quickly tossed at the boy. The main reason was that they never stopped their spars, Edgeshot would talk to his sidekicks while instructing Midoriya and always seemed to end up winning even when he was distracted. However the man's inner sense of when danger was coming was second to none. The older man looked down at his pupil before chuckling lightly, and sat down next to him.
"Be prepared, we're going to Hosu tomorrow. I have some business I have to talk to a few colleagues about, so you'll be coming with me. It's important that you know who you will be meeting with to improve your image and to increase your popularity." The pro hero told him as he nodded content to relax on the floor, but instead sat up and took his time to meditate. He had taken up this habit when Edgeshot told him that he was wrong about his quirk.
First Day
"What do you mean anything can be a weapon?" He asked as the pro let him up and turned on the lights revealing a dojo that looked like it could have been from the 15th century.
"Are you dense? Or just stupid? You can use a stick as a weapon! You can use a piece of armor as a weapon!" He said as he showed him the suits of japanese armor that were scattered around the walls of the room. "You're too narrow minded! You think in terms of something concrete, like that hardening quirk boy. He can make himself solid and hard, you're different. Almost unlike anyone else! You create things with energy, your energy. So wouldn't it make sense for you to be able to create something that you think of as a weapon?"
Fourth Day
"Are you even trying to form something other than a gun or a sword? Hell, even if you could create a bo staff that would be surprising!" The pro hero called out to him during a study session they had where Midoriya would study the making of anything that could be even remotely declared a weapon. This was the same way it had been the previous days after the small sparring session that the two had when he first arrived at the agency.
"Of course I'm trying! It's just hard to change your entire idea of an abstract word at the drop of a hat!" He said slamming his book and his down on the table becoming more and more frustrated with the day. He thought that this was going to make him a better hero but instead he was stuck at this stupid table studying something that he already knew.
"Well, clearly not because you've made zero progress in actually thinking on your own instead of looking at others and thinking that they have weapons!" The pro shot back trying to seemingly frustrate the boy more and more to a revelation. Before anything else could be said, Midoriya let out a yell of frustration and a bright flash surrounded the boy. It was in the shape of some type of armor, but it didn't stay around long as Midoriya instantly began sweating and breathing heavily. "Now that's what I'm talking about." The pro said, looking at the tired boy. "Midoriya, let's take a break and eat. I think you deserve a small day of rest since I ran you ragged this morning."
Present
Since then Midoriya had forced himself to think differently, more openly than some of the other people he had worked with for his quirk. Slowly, he saw himself almost thinking of his quirk as a creation quirk instead of an energy quirk. He was able to create the weapons, armor and domain expansion with his quirk. Maybe instead of thinking it was Weapons Master, he should think of it as Warlord. He created the new name for his quirk, he could think of something as a weapon and be able to create that said item. However, there were limitations to this idea. He couldn't create bandages and when he conjured up Aizaawa's scarf it had simply disappeared once he let his concentration slip, so he knew that he would still have to carry the hero supplies that he used to. He and Edgeshot had gone and got his quirk diagnosed as such. He felt that it was fitting because in the armor he felt like he was unstoppable, his domain expansion was finally slowly getting refined, including his new perception of his quirk allowed him to be more effective in combat. The evidence being his soldiers had more details to them and the weapons that were created disappeared unless he wished them to. Edgeshot had forced him to study not only the weapons he wanted him to create but how they were made. How the parts were forged, shaped, bended, melted down. It was impressive how much knowledge that he had been missing that could have led to him bolstering his quirk. Movement from his mentor knocked him out of his thinking as the hero laid back and relaxed like there was nothing to do.
"Oi, get up and shower Midoriya. You reek." The pro laughed as the other shook his head and stretched. They had been training from dusk till dawn, not only how long it was but how intense it was. Never once while eating did he not study or think, they had decided to do some extra sparring after dinner so that Midoriya could try out the armor that he finally managed to get solid.
"Says you. Your hero costume smells like it hasn't seen water in months." The teen shot back at the pro, who laughed again. Midoriya's pride was still there but after getting the hell kicked out of him, he managed to get it to a place where it would no longer interfere with his hero duties. Suddenly, Edgeshot threw a knife at Midoriya and he caught it. "You really need to stop doing that." He sighed and shook his head, part of his training was to always be ready for an attack in an unfamiliar place. He had been pinned by Edgeshot when they first met and the surprise attacks increased in frequency until Midoriya had fended him off for a full day. The pro smiled but said nothing, they walked out to the baths and relaxed.
"Even in the past five days, your improvement has been massive. Who knows, you might be able to compete with me in the future?" The pro laughed, Midoriya noticed this. Despite his serious demeanor in public, when he was around someone who he trusted he laughed non-stop and joked constantly.
"Pfft, you wish it would take that long. With the Saint Armor, I'll be beating you by the time I'm a third year." He laughed, jabbing at the Ninja hero's pride.
"Whatever you think kid, whatever you think." The hero said and relaxed into the hotspring letting the silence take them over. The silence was nice as it was rare that the two weren't doing something that required noise, whether that noise be weapons crashing against each other or studying that required the flipping of pages and conversation between the two, allowing Midoriya access to the almost unlimited knowledge of weapons that the Ninja hero had at his disposal.
"Edgeshot?" The boy spoke up and the hero opened an eye looking at his green haired pupil. "Has… has there been anyone that you weren't able to save? I-i don't know if I'm ready to hear the answer I have for myself." He said before letting the silence envelope again, letting the pro think before he answered.
"Yes, and it's not easy. People will blame you, and treat you like you spawned from hell. However, you have to realize that even as a hero you are human. You can't be everywhere at once, even with an ability like your domain expansion." He said as he relaxed again before continuing. "However, the gratitude of everyone you save will counter those demons that will eat at you. Of course, some days it's much worse than others but you will always be able to do your best. And if you fail while doing your best, then that's okay. You must take the good with the bad and realize that you have to keep going no matter what." He said as the boy looked satisfied with that answer, and truth be told the pro hero was honest. He did feel guilty about not being able to save someone at a certain time but he always tried his damned hardest to make sure that he got everyone out. "On a lighter topic, how's your girlfriend who texts you pictures that you can't show people?" He said, laughing at the bright red that enveloped the teens face contrasting with his green hair.
The Next Day
"Oi, let's get going Archangel, we're going to miss the train." The hero called and the boy came running out to him. The hero had instructed him that in public he must call his colleagues by their hero name so that way no one could target the people he cared about and put the other in a compromising position. He took this lesson to heart and made sure to remember it so that way he would never accidentally cause a disaster for someone. His hero costume had changed, instead of the militaristic style that he had, it changed completely. It was a suit that clung tighter to his frame, a dark grey with white accents that made sure his hands were free of any access material, his pants were loose leaving his legs free for movement compared to his old costume. He had taken some inspiration from the anti-hero Deadpool, who had been around during the first appearance of quirks. Granted he left out the fask mask that the anti-hero used, but overall it was similar just with shorter sleeves and loose pants. They had found out with his armor and old hero costume, it resulted in bulky armor that was too slow and too big for a speedier attacker like Midoriya. "Good, my support company did well." The hero said, checking over the suit, before handing him a sword with a sheath on it. The sheath was white, along with the handle of the blade and when he pulled out the blade slightly he shined in the early light not a single imperfection in the blade. "This is yours, it is yours to name. You may have relied on your quirk too much, but your ability to use any weapon like a master is enough to warrant you this. If you ever can't use your quirk, use this." The hero said, looking at the student with pride. He was happier with this one student than the rest of his pupils combined, none of them had taken his lessons to heart like this boy. He was an example of what every hero should be; determined, proud, strong, and had the will to climb over any obstacle that dared to stand in his path.
"Edgeshot…" The boy said he remembered the scoldings he had received about relying on his quirk for everything. The hero just smiled and waved them on as Midoriya ran to walk side by side with the hero, people recognizing the both of them. Edgeshot because he was currently the number four hero and was well liked by the public for his chivalrous nature and demeanor. Midoriya was recognized as the boy from the sports festival who had powers that seemed like he could singularly take on an army. It didn't help that the two were rather attractive and both were asked on multiple occasions if they had girlfriends or wives or if they were seeing anyone, some of the bolder ones shoving numbers in their pockets that they disposed of when they came across recycling bins. They were almost late to the train but managed to get into it and find their seats, managing to sit down and finally relax. The trip down to the train station had been alot for the boy to take in and the pro laughed at the boy's misfortune, if he continued down his current path he would be almost as popular as one of the top ten heroes by the time he actually graduates from UA. They relaxed while they were on their way to Hosu, relishing the feeling as this entire week had been hard on both of them, Midoriya specifically. He sent a quick text to Momo telling her that he was on his way with Edgeshot to get a deeper insight into being a hero, specifically in the area of getting and maintaining popularity and what was good press and bad press. He put his phone down quickly and remained on guard, following his mentor's lesson when suddenly Edgeshot's head jumped up and swiveled around looking for something. He had noticed that something didn't feel right but trusted that his teacher had felt it before he had and waited for him to act. However, that was until the thing he sensed crashed into the train, causing panic and stopping the train.
"It's a Nomu!" Archangel yelled and formed a single gauntlet, punching it, and despite not having super strength it flew away and back towards Hosu. While forming the full armor would be easier, he didn't want to fully reveal it in case of villains watching them, so that he still had the ace in the hole. He couldn't use his domain expansion today, he simply didn't have the amount of stamina needed to make it effective as Edgeshot claimed that making his quirk better overall was one way to improve the rest of his abilities.
"You, hold the Heroes who are working on it already. I'll get that thing and take it down myself." Edgeshot as Midoirya nodded, disregarding his earlier thoughts and made the Saint Armor appear on him, giving him an angelic look that fit his name. He instantly flew out of the train, Edgeshot close behind but split off, Midoriya heading towards the fire while he went towards Nomu. He skidded landing on the pavement and took in the scene in the distance, three different fires and they all looked back. He couldn't assess the damage so he took off towards the closest one. Midoriya looked down in shock, there was another Nomu fighting and attacking the heroes. The Nomu was being beaten but it was slow, Midoriya formed a trident with barbed prongs and threw it as hard as he could, a sonic boom pushing him back slightly. He was shocked by the power that the suit gave him, he knew that he was stronger with it but he wasn't aware of how much he metnally restrained himself against another human being. The trident speared the Nomu through the legs and pinned it to the ground, this one seemed to be fast but not strong enough to remove the trident. He flew down and took off the helmet showing his face after stomping on the Nomu then backing off quickly.
"Edgeshot gave me permission to help." He said quickly as the others nodded and they quickly subdued the Nomu getting it restrained. It took a few minutes but they finally managed to knock it out quickly now that it was not able to dodge any of the attacks that were thrown. They were all out of breath, as the super regeneration the thing had made it difficult for them to finally get to stop fighting back against the assembled heroes.
"Tenya! God dammit!" A hero yelled as Midoriya looked over and saw the Normal Hero: Manual swearing and looking around. He looked frantic but also calm, he had been hosing off the surrounding buildings making sure that the fire couldn't spread while dousing the ones on fire.
"Tenya's gone?" He asked the hero, Iida would never abandon a villain attack, much less be nowhere to be seen. He swore knowing exactly where he was and now realizing why he had picked Manual for his internship. "That idiot." Midoriya muttered to himself hoping that he was okay until he could reach him.
"You're his classmate right?" Manual asked as he nodded and put on his helmet ready to take off. "Find him, please. Who knows what he could be doing right now." He nodded and took off quickly, he was in the air for maybe ten minutes until he saw a glint from an alleyway dive bombed it. He skidded harshly on the ground and saw a horrifying scene, Iida was on the ground about to be killed while another hero simply sat there. Then there was the hero-killer, ready to murder Iida in that instant for some reason. He didn't know what happened but suddenly he was in front of Iida and the hero killer was sliding down a brick wall on the opposite end of the alley. His body had acted on its own making sure he protected his friend who had been consumed by hatred. Midoriya swore, he hadn't forgotten that Iida's brother had been attacked but how he hadn't thought that this could have been part of the reason he had been acting strangely. Sure he had his suspicions but he never confronted the boy even when he was 100% sure that he was right about it.
"Who the hell are you?" Stain growled looking at the arrival who seemed to be in some sort of armor. This was going to be a tough opponent because he wouldn't be able to access the new arrivals blood and paralyze him. He noticed that there were gaps in the armor but they were in protected places that were difficult to him, much less make sure he drew some blood to consume.
"Archangel. The one who is going to protect these two from you." He said sending his location to his friends quickly behind his back. He looked at the hero killer and got into a defensive position with one of the swords he was used to creating. He breathed out deeply knowing that he had the advantage, simply because he had armor that prevented him from being cut.
"Archangel huh? Protecting these two worthless heroes?" The killer scowled and drew his jagged weapons, each looking like they were broke specifically to tear at someone's flesh. He winced internally, those were going to eat up alot of his energy, the armor he was wearing already took up a lot of his concentration. Having a weapon he made was going to be a hindrance and so breathing out again he dropped the sword letting it dissolve, before drawing his own katana getting into a defensive stance with his wings spread protecting the two.
"No! Stop! This is my fight!" Iida yelled before the new arrivals' eyes snapped to him. He couldn't see the eyes of the person but he felt like he knew this person from somewhere, instead of leaving like some sane people would he stayed put, ready to defend the two.
"No, our fight. I told you I'd protect you." He said seeing the recognition in Iida's eyes before he dropped from his spot, a sword missing his head by inches.
"Talking during a fight? Really?" The hero killer snarled and attacked again, before each sword was batted away by Midoriya's own. "It's like you don't even care that you could die right now, are you sure you can protect these two with a sloppy attitude like that?"
"It's not enough to protect but to reassure. It is a hero's job to interfere where they aren't wanted or needed." He roared and suddenly went on the offensive to push his opponent back before a sword snaked out from Stain's body and smashed into his armor causing it to flicker slightly. The hero killer smiled and pressed on landing hit after hit on the boy's armor before it disappeared leaving a tired Midoriya standing there with his katana drawn. He swore internally, he knew he should have taken more breaks than he had but he was consumed by his need for improvement to be able to protect. Now it had backfired on him, his stamina clearly still drained by his continuous training with Edgeshot over the last few days.
"Oh? So you do have a limit after all huh? It's a shame you aren't grown because otherwise you would have definitely beat me. More skilled and more stamina than you had now and it would have been so one sided that it wouldn't even be funny. However, You will be spared. You showed what a true hero should be, a self sacrificing protector." He said before attacking fiercely. Midoriya ws forced on the back foot for the remainder of the time they were exchanging blows but Stain was too good. He had taken down multiple pros after all. The murderer managed to score a cut on Midoriya, and before anyone could move or do anything he licked the blood. All the feeling in his body was taken away as he stood there stiffly unable to move. He strained against the invisible bonds that held him but they held fast, he couldn't even tell if his body had moved, the paralysis was simply too strong for him to overcome with sheer will alone. "However, I have to kill these phonies. They aren't true heroes. One seeks only fame and fortune, only caring about people so that he can continue to live comfortably. The other seeks revenge for a brother, disgracing his name. They have been judged and found guilty." He was about to walk past the boy when a blast of ice came from the entrance of the alley sending him backwards and growling at the new interruption.
"Midoriya! Are you okay? Next time, you need to send more information than just your location." Todoroki yelled from behind him as he checked up on Iida and Native. The two were still paralyzed somehow, there must have been some factor to how long the paralysis lasted but Midoriya didn't have enough information to come up with a reason.
"Yea, just exhausted and stuck. His quirk allows him to paralyze someone with their blood. I think it has a time limit but we can't be sure so be careful. I would have, however I was kinda pressed for time, preventing him from killing one of these two" He said as Todoroki gained a defensive stance in front of Midoriya, melting any frost on him with his fire. Midoriya listed off information trying to make up for the gaps in Todoroki's knowledge of their extremely dangerous opponent. He looked all around the alley when the hero killer jumped up and threw a knife at the new arrival, but Todokri raised ice to block them.
"No! Todoroki take Midoriya and Native and leave!" The engine quirk user called out to his friends who ignored him and instead focused on their opponent. Suddenly, now aware of how limited their vision was due to the sheer amount of ice that was in front of them.
"Shouldn't have covered your sight boy." They heard as the hero killer drew near again, but this time was repelled by flames causing him to dodge and move away from the boys. "Two quirks?" He trailed off before looking with intense hatred at the bi-colored boy. "Endeavor's spawn." He growled and attacked again, swinging his blades at him trying to kill, not hiding his intent but was repelled by ice or fire, but was soon knocked away from a blow to his chest from a gauntlet that resembled the one from earlier.
"Fucking hell, that was close." Midoriya was finally free from the paralysis but somehow the other two weren't up. He glanced at the other two as he shook his body working more and more feeling back into it as time went on. "It may be based on blood type or amount he consumes." He said quietly to the other boy and they took defensive positions again, this time Midoriya was up front with his sword and Todoroki was supporting him from far away.
"Stop! I can't let you two be killed because I made a mistake!" Iida cried out to them tears running down his face, honored that his friends would go this far to protect him but terrified that they were going to die because of him.
"Shut it Iida!" Midoriya called out and was about to move before the hero killer started talking again. "This isn't because of you! This is because this is what we want to be!" The words were harsh but true, sending a shock through Iida.
"Good boy, you're learning from your mistakes however it is too late. You are still part of the sum on the earth that I have sworn to destroy." He said before advancing but being pushed back by the two boys who had some difficulty protecting the two other people in the alleyway. They were fighting with everything they had but it was a constant struggle as they were forced to not get a scrape or cut. They were tagging in and out protecting the other while the other retreated managing to keep going and stay strong. Iida struggled to get out from under the paralysis quirk and wasn't successful. Letting tears run down his face, he watched his two friends fight a killer, a murderer that had injured his brother so badly that he would never be able to be a hero again. He cried and tried slamming his hand down but was shocked when he was actually able to move a bit. However, Iida let the paralysis work it's way out of his body, letting the feeling return to his body without the hero killer knowing as he had missed the small movement by Iida because of an attack from Midoriya. He was going to wait until the perfect moment when he would be able to swing the fight, if that chance never came he would get up and protect his friends. Suddenly, the hero killer acted again, this time swinging killing blows at the two who were forced to defend themselves and leave the others open. They stumbled but Midoriya reacted quickly due to the training that he had been going through making him able to reach the hero killer just in time. Stain charged but was grabbed by Midoriya, and was thrown into the air, surprising him resulting in him not being able to react to the bombardment of attacks that were sent his way. On his way up into the air he was hit by ice in the chest from Todoroki, causing cracking sounds. The ice was quickly followed by a large blast of fire that left the man scorched and toasted, smoke coming off his body even before he hit the apex of the arc his body was going in. In that split second that his vision was covered by the fire, the other two made their move. Midoriya flew with his wings, focusing hard on letting them stay as it was harder to manifest only a part of his armor and Iida launched himself into the air both on either side of the hero killer. Quickly, Midoriya swapped out his wings for a gauntlet unable to keep both of the parts of the armor active at the same time.
"RECIPRO BURST/SAINT SMASH!" The two yelled, Iida connecting with the hero killer's chest and Midoriya hit the man's stomach, sending him straight into the ground, leaving him unconscious as the two dropped to the ground and collapsed. They landed roughly unable to care about the fact that they had multiple scrapes and bruises, just grateful to be alive against an opponent who had let very few of his victims live. Despite the short duration of the fight, they were exhausted and barely able to comprehend the fact that they had won against such a strong opponent, but managed to tie up the hero killer. They stood up and dragged everyone out onto the street before collapsing on the pavement, Todoroki setting Native against a building so that he could be comfortable while Iida and Midoriya dropped Stain, and promptly fell down. Seeing that all the fires were put out, they breathed sighs of relief grateful that the hellish night they had would soon be coming to an end. Hopefully, there would be little excitement left for them tonight so they could just stay there and relax against the cool pavement. Suddenly, Heroes were running to them before stopping in shock, before anyone else would do anything Edgeshot grabbed his student and shook him gently.
"Midoriya. Are you good? You're alright? I came as soon as the Nomu was in cuffs, I saw your message" He said as the exhausted teen nodded, all his concentration was used up and he barely noticed all the cuts he and Todoroki had. The hero did a double take looking at the unconscious hero killer, and looked at his student in disbelief. He and his friends managed to take down someone that had eluded pro heroes for months, if that was anything to go off of then the boy would have a very long and successful career in heroics. They just lied there while the hero killer was taken into custody before anyone relaxed. The heroes congratulated them for taking in the hero killer, Endeavor looked at his son with something like pride and it showed, not that Todoroki showed his care that much. Manual had yet to arrive and as such Iida was leaning on a sidekick from the agency, grateful that the hero was there. Midoriya simply laid on the ground as Edgeshot talked to the police about his intern and that he was given permission to sue his quirk, so he would receive no punishment for the capture of the hero killer. Suddenly, Midoriya felt sharp claws pierce his shoulders and he cried out, surprising everyone. He was suddenly dragged into the sky by the ghastly being and he clutched the talons that stabbed into his shoulders, almost hitting his bones. "Midoriya!" Edgeshot yelled and was about to act, but was beaten to the punch as Stain came out of nowhere, smashing the Nomu into the ground making sure the boy landed on top. He groaned and leaned over as the Nomu's claws were cut off him and he pried off the claws slowly tossing them onto the ground as Stain's balde pierced the brain of the flying Nomu. Before the heroes could get to him, they stopped at the murderous gaze of Stain.
"All of you, all of you are fakes!" He yelled before pointing to Midoriya. "He is the only one here who is worthy of being called a hero!" He screeched before pointing at Endeavor shocking him. "You… you deserve hell and all it's hatred for all the suffering that you have caused people… I will… I will be the one to send… send you there..." He trailed off taking a step before stopping, seemingly unconscious while standing up. The last thing Midoriya remembered was the gentle hands of his mentor lifting him up, and setting him down on a flat surface, letting him fall deep into sleep.
The Next Day
"I can't believe how stupid you are!" Inko Midoriya yelled at her son while he was in the hospital recovering from his fight with the Nomu and the Hero-Killer. "Izuku, I raised you to be smarter than this! And you go off to fight the hero killer?! You are so lucky Edgeshot gave you permission to fight otherwise I swear I-" She was cut off by her son hugging her tightly, she smiled letting the subject drop, she was happy that he wasn't embarrassed in front of his friends because of her. Truth be told, she was the most important person in his life and he would rather take a bullet than let her be hurt by anyone or anything. "Well, are you going to introduce me to your friends?" She laughed after they pulled away from each other and looked at the two other boys. Todoroki smiled lightly, he had recently been seeing his mother in the mental institution again and had reconnected with her. Iida smiled wide and began talking with the Midoriya matriarch as she tried to embarrass her son. "You see as a kid he really looked up to All Might, he was all over his room then suddenly he heard of Edgeshot and became obsessed with him-" She said before being cut off by a different voice, this time with a lot more anger causing all three boys to pale. Todoroki and Iida instantly moved away bringing Ms. Midoriya with them, as Izuku instinctively flashed his armor.
"Izuku FUCKING MIDORIYA!" The girl yelled as the door flew open, a girl with long raven black hair entered the room. Her onyx eyes locking onto the figure in armor, and walking over to him, gently removing the helmet revealing messy green hair and bright green eyes.
"H-hey Momo…" He stuttered, trailed off looking at the angry girl's onyx eyes that seemed to be debating on whether or not to kill him. The older Midoriya was shocked, she hadn't seen her son stutter like that in a long time. He had stuttered when talking to a girl or when he was nervous or anxious, but he had gotten over that now. He had for a long time, and was almost known as a player throughout his younger years. However, this girl had brought out that stutter within a minute of her being here.
"Don't 'Hey Momo' me! You sent a location in Hosu, while there was no tv coverage and no one except for you three knew what was going on! Then I hear from Edgeshot to tell me that you were okay and that you had taken down the hero killer with these two idiots!" She yelled at him angrily, standing there with her arms crossed and her foot tapping before tears suddenly flooded her cheeks and her angry yelling was replaced by wracking sobs. He instantly got up and let the armor go, holding her tightly to him, he gently picked her up and brought her to the bed as she beat his chest. The three others in the room looked away letting the two have their moment.
"I'm sorry. It won't happen again." He muttered to her, as her arms tightened around him as she shook her head, confusing him.
"Don't promise that. Just promise me that you'll be more careful from now on… I know you can't stay out of trouble due to you meddling with everyone, but please. Please, you can't leave." She begged him and he pulled her tight against him, he had never heard her sound so panicked and scared in his entire time of knowing her. He rubbed her back gently as she slowly calmed down. "You're such an idiot and a problem child. How did you ever manage to survive this long without me to watch you?" She joked lightly, rubbing her eyes gently.
"I think I would take credit for that." His mother suddenly spoke walking over to the two with a huge smile. "Glad to see that there is someone who finally managed to get this idiot to slow down." She said lightly hitting the back of his head, as he rolled his eyes.
"Damn Aunt Mitsuki for her habits running off on you." He muttered, but got his head hit again by his girlfriend, stunning him and making him stop talking. He looked at her betrayed, and pouted as everyone else in the room laughed at the boy's misfortune. "Why do you all seem to enjoy my pain?!" He complained again, throwing his hands up in the air, causing them all to laugh again.
"Well, it's quite clear that you two are dating or somewhere in between. So words to the wise, wear protec-" She was interrupted by a bright red Izuku who seemed to almost light on fire.
"Mom!" He said, causing her to laugh as she shook her head and ruffled the boy's hair. She smiled down kindly at the pair, they were clearly comfortable and open with their feelings if the yelling was anything to go off of.
"Alright, alright. I'll leave you kids alone. However," She said looking at her son with bright green eyes as some small things started floating in the room. "If you ever do something that stupid again, I swear the Her-Killer will look like a piece of cake compared to me. Do you understand?" As the green boy paled and nodded frantically, he had seen his mom mad at him one time and since then he had made sure to never incur his mothers wrath. He would rather fight three or more of Stain than ever go against his mother when she was mad. His mother had raised him as a single parent and so had some things she had to do that others didn't. However, if he did say so himself, she did a damn fine job of raising him. "Alright." She was satisfied by the nodding from the boy and went to leave. "I'll be heading off then. I have to get home and finish up my work. I'll see you later Izuku. Bring Momo around sometime okay?" She said smiling before taking her leave and closing the door, letting Izuku flop back on the bed and let out a sigh of relief.
"She's nice."
"Your mother is strong, Midoriya."
"She seems very responsible." His friends claimed as he chucked and looked at the ceiling.
"She's awesome. She raised me as a single parent. Since I was a late bloomer my dad decided to leave and as a kid I was told he was working out of the country, but before UA she told me what actually happened. Needless to say, I love her. She did a damn fine job with me." He announced and smiled, happy that his friends liked his headstrong mother. Truth be told, she used to cry a lot but since she trained with him, she was stronger physically and overall in his opinion, much stronger than he could ever achieve. They all let a comfortable silence envelope them as no one had anything to stay, eventually the three boys relaxed while Momo went to talk to Ryukyu who was talking to Edgeshot, who was scowling.
"I can't believe that the pupil I trained for less than a week is being taken away from me for the rest of the time! He has so much for me to beat- I mean to have him learn!" He said, throwing his hands in the air, causing Ryukyu to laugh at the man's antics. Professionally they were colleagues but outside of hero work they were dating secretly, except for Momo and Izuku who knew. The latter made sure to make fun of his mentor on the fact that he was head over heels for the woman.
"Enough Edgeshot." The dragoon heroine said laughing as she saw Momo walking over to them. "Creati, this is Archangel's mentor for the internship week. I believe that you know of him?" Ryukyu said as her intern nodded, and looked up at the hero before bowing.
"Thank you for taking care of that idiot. I can't even catch all his antics despite trying my best." She sighed as the hero laughed and shook his head, he smiled before speaking again.
"You have nothing to worry about and in fact I'd say he's more well equipped than before." He said cryptically before he was interrupted by the Hosu chief of police and Principle Nezu. The pro looked at the chief of police before bowing to Nezu. "Principal, I must say it is nice to see you after all of these years and to have a student as excellent as Archangel, I must thank you." He said looking down at the short animal that had appeared before him.
"No issue Edgeshot!" Nezu said excitedly as he rocked back and forth on his… paws? "However, aside from young Midoriya we need to talk to the other students that were involved. What they did was heroic, however it was still illegal and we needed to talk with them. Manual and Endeavor should already be waiting at their room." Momo turned where they were, she didn't hear them at all. Where had they come from? The group walked over to the room, excluding Momo and Ryukyu from the group. She itched to go into the room, she wanted to make sure that they were okay. However, Ryukyu held her back and shook her head.
"After they're done talking then we can say goodbye but we do have to go back to the agency since you're still technically internering still." The heroine smiled down at the younger girl, she nodded that she understood but really didn't want to wait but forced herself to sit down with her mentor.
As the five people entered the hospital room, they"The formal stance of the police is that what you did was illegal, and that you should be punished for acting without a hero license or provisional one at the least. Your mentors would also be punished as they had been lax enough in their duties to allow you three for doing something so entirely foolish." The dog headed chief said before being cut off by Todoroki.
"We got him didn't we? If we did nothing then Native and Iida would have been killed!" He said that the chief of police was going to punish them for doing something that anyone should have done.
"I said that was the formal view of the police." The chief said cutting Todorki off who looked confused at what he said. "However, as a protector and fedner of the peace I must say thank you." He said bowing to the three of them, shocking them, they were being thanked for breaking the law. "I know this is confusing and irritating but aside from young Midoriya, you two did break the law. As such, I would like to offer a preposition for you two." He said looking at Todoroki and Iida, who shifted slightly at the idea. "You two will not be revealed for fighting Stain and as such you would not receive any credit. Midoriya and Endeavor would receive all credit, but you two and your mentors would not be punished for what happened. Think carefully, should you not take this we will be forced to enact the full authority of the law on each of you." He said this looking specifically at Todoroki who still looked like had conflicted feelings about everything that he was told, and the deal that had been laid out on the table for them to have a way out of all the trouble they caused. Midoriya protested but was stopped by Edgeshot who leaned down.
"This is for them to decide." He said quietly looking at his pupil pulling his mask up so no one could see his lips. "It is up to them to decide whether they take this deal or not. Even if you say you do not deserve credit, you were given permission so you are free to take credit. In my opinion, you should as with your armor's appearance you are already on the news so it would be the best scenario if you were to accept, diverting attention away from these two." He said, giving him advice that only some heroes were capable of giving and he nodded. He hated that his friends could be punished, and he hated that he would be given more credit that he deserved, but if it was to protect his friends then he would gladly do it.
"I accept the deal." Iida said suddenly with conviction, ashamed that his desire for revenge had caused such a big problem for him and his friends. "I will accept whatever punishment the school and Manual have for me, but in order to atone for what I did I will need to stay a hero." He said looking down at his friends as Manual lightly hit him on the head.
"There. Punishment done. Next time, let's avoid a situation like this, okay?" The pro said kindly and smiled down at the young intern, despite his reasons for choosing Manual's hero agency, Manual still loved having Iida around. He was a breath of fresh air for them.
"Young Todoroki? What will it be?" Nezu asked the bi-rolored boy who had seemed like he was lost in his own thoughts and in his own world while the others had been talking. He looked conflicted, he wanted to take credit but it would mean that there would be too much trouble going on for him and his friends. On the other hand, if he didn't his father got credit along with Midoriya, which while it wasn't a bad thing, he didn't want to force something on his friend, who finally managed to reach out to him and knock some sense into him.
"I-I'll take the deal." He said letting out a defeated sigh, and rubbing the back of his neck. The benefits of the deal outweighed the perceived downsides of it, mainly avoiding trouble and causing more issues for the people around him. The police chief looked satisfied before thanking them again, letting Edgeshot, Endeavor and Midoriya know that there would be a press conference the next day and as such should stay in town so that they would be able to attend. As the five others left, the three boys flopped on one bed sighing. "I hate that we achieved something the pros couldn't and we're still getting punished for it." Todoroki sighed as Midoriya rubbed his eyes, luckily his suit was being brought from his room at UA for the press conference but hated that his friends wouldn't be up there with him.
"You three look enthusiastic." A voice laughed from the entrance, showing Momo standing there with Ryukyu who smiled at the girl's antics, causing the three of them to groan collectively again. "As much as I'd love to see you two grumble while Izuku looks uncomfortable in a suit, I do have my own internship to finish." She said walking in and kissing Izuku quickly, before hugging her friends as they stood up. "Stay safe, and have fun you two. Make sure you actually relax and get the rest you need. You all look like you need it." She said smiling before going back to Izuku and kissing him again. "You stay safe. And make sure you get a picture of you in that suit for me, I'm sure that you'll look great in it." She whispered before walking away, leaving the green teen with a stupid smile on his face causing his friends to laugh at him. She closed the door and they sighed again, finally able to relax with just the three of them.
"We can't tell anyone about this, can we Todoroki?" Iida said as Midoriya chuckled, lightly still dreading the thought of the press. The other boy shook his head and looked up, lighting his hand on fire. He stared at the flames before a nurse came in and told him no quirk usage. He sighed and let his control go away, looking up at the ceiling.
"All I gotta say is, I'm glad Mina or Hagakure isn't here because the second I come out in that suit it's over for me." The green haired boy said as the others gave laughs of their own, imagining what the two girls would do to him if they found out he was in a suit. "It's on the way, I'm happy that Edgeshot is going to be up there with me separating me and Endeavor, even with that armor I'll get cooked." He sighed and grabbed a water bottle from the case his mother had brought them before making him deaf with her yelling.
"What's with that armor, Midoriya? I thought you could only create weapons? And what was that Katana? It didn't disappear when you fell unconscious." Iida asked as he dropped onto his own bed, still hurting and sore from their encounter with the hero killer. Midoriya sighed and formed the armor, taking off the helmet, showing them.
"It was an entire change of perspective basically. The entire time with Edgeshot was either studying how weapons are made and changing my perception of weapons overall. My quirk evolved into basically encompassing war over all, except for bandages and medicine and stuff like that." He said and flexed his arms, the armor moving with him as he walked over to Iida and let him observe the armor while Todoroki came over to look. "Normally, I would be able to keep it active for longer but I was so drained for stamina after everything this past week that it wasn't stable yet." He said before letting his control drop everything dissolving away in a golden light before he made his way over to the sword. He grabbed the sword from the corner of the room with his clothes from Edgeshots agency, he needed another costume as his had been destroyed from the two Nomus and Stain. "Edgeshot gave this to me, it's because I rely on my quirk a lot and so this would allow me to focus more on the armor than the weapon." He said smiling as he pulled out the blade, the other two staring in wonder at the blade.
"No wonder you caught all the cameras when you helped defeat the first Nomu." Todoroki said bluntly, as the sword was put away and put back with his things. "You looked like an angel that just dropped out of the sky the way you landed on that Nomu and pinned him down to the ground with that trident." He observed as the green haired boy blushed and rubbed his neck.
"Nah, they can't even hear what I said. It honestly pretty much beat the shit out of the Nomu." He laughed but cut off at a knock and grabbed the suit from Ectoplasm who had hand delivered the suit to him, after saying a quick thanks he looked at the time and groaned. "It's already midnight… I need to sleep because the conference is at ten." He groaned, hanging up the suit and flopping on his bed, closing his eyes. "I might be gone before you guys get up, so just in case I'll see you back at UA. And thanks for being there and protecting each other." He says rolling over and smiling lightly as his friends gave similar sentiments. He slowly drifted off to sleep, and was for the first time, able to sleep a dreamless sleep.
In the morning Midoriya was woken up by Edgeshot, and he yawned. It was eight but he was still exhausted from using his quirk constantly along with staying up extremely late the night before. He grabbed everything of his and put it in the car that Edgeshot owned, the rest of his things and bags had been brought so that way he would be able to go to UA right away after the conference. They checked out of the hospital after Midoriya had shrugged the suit on, also taking a picture for Momo and sending it to her. They arrived at the venue for the event and were welcomed by the smells of breakfast, having gotten used to eating light Midoriya grabbed just some greek yogurt and fruit. His mentor was relaxed, wearing his costume instead of the suit that Midoriya was required to wear.
"Why the hell aren't you wearing a suit like me?" Midoriya said, never the morning person is made worse by the lack of sleep that he hadn't got the previous night. The irritable boy rolled his eyes at his laughing mentor who shook his head, checking the time before the conference.
"Because I'm a hero and right now, massively more important than you even if you did stop the hero killer." He laughed and pushed his pupil slightly, who just rolled his eyes before eyeing the coffee his mentor had. The older man caught the boy's gaze and shook his head before shoving the coffee to him. The green haired boy smiled and downed the cup in seconds, his eyes brightening up quickly.
"Thanks. I needed that." He said and relaxed in his chair, checking his phone for any messages, he knew his friends were busy but he was hoping for anything. Anything to distract himself, he may have been confident around Iida and Todoroki but by whatevers holy he was nervous. He breathed out as they were told they could go to the table in front of all the reporters now and Edgeshot informed him that he would give the story until they split and then he would have to come up with a story including Endeavor. Too soon, the conference started when Endeavor sat down, luckily Edgeshot was sitting between them.
"Today we have breaking news, the Hero-Killer has been brought to justice. Today we have Edgeshot, Endeavor and Izuku Midoriya, a boy who is in first year of UA and an intern of Edgeshot. Edgeshot, is it true that your intern and Endeavor stopped the hero killer?" The reporter said before letting the pro hero speak.
"Yes. When myself and Young Midoriya had arrived, we already had planned on coming to Hosu as we had business to attend to. However, when the Nomu crashed into the train that plan changed. After Midoriya had knocked it away from the train and we had checked on everyone, I chased the Nomu to restrain it and help the police detain it. The orders I gave Midoriya were clear: Help the heroes, and if you come across a Nomu, wipe it off the face of the earth. If you see A villain, call for help. If you can't stall until help comes." He said as reporters took multiple pictures and took his statement. Midoriya was surprised he had changed some of what he said to make sure that Midoriya would get into absolutely no trouble. He looked up at his mentor but said nothing, letting the pro hero do his job.
"When looking at his file, his quirk was changed from Weapons Master to Warlord under your care. Is there a reason for that?" A woman said further in the back from the first reporter. Why the sudden interest in his quirk? Didn't they think that this explanation was even worse than Weapons Master?
"Yes, he is able to create specific items of war that he is able to summon and use. For instance a sword, or armor." He said in simple terms for those who might have the extensive knowledge heroes did.
"Is that what that armor was? It's been plastered all over the media." Another man called out, as Midoriya rubbed his neck and answered this time after a look from his mentor.
"Yes. I created the armor during my time with Edgeshot, as he worked hard to change my perception of what a weapon was. So technically, my quirk is the same, it is just the change in my attitude and beliefs that caused this sudden growth and change." He said looking directly at the reporter who looked shocked at the straightforward and confident answer from the student but nodded. Truth be told, it had taken all his will to get rid of the shakiness in his voice. He may be nervous but there was zero reason for anyone to know that.
"Besides that, what happened to lead you to the hero killer? You were given permission to defend yourself and apprehend villains. What led to you and Endeavor beating him?" A reporter asked and even though he knew he was going to have to come up with something he wasn't prepared. But that problem was quickly solved by Endeavor himself.
"The boy had engaged the hero killer before I had arrived. I had just dealt with one of the three Nomu, and was flying around looking for the one that had injured him later on in the evening. I had noticed something white in the alley and peared closer, able to see metallic wings that had faded from existence before I got there. Arriving I was able to stop the blade swinging at him, and scorched him heavily with my fire. Upon seeing me, he flew into a rage and tried to kill both of us quickly, making multiple mistakes that we were able to exploit. Despite his lack of energy, he was able to get good hits earlier in the fight before he was paralyzed by the villain's quirk. I landed solid hits against him, ending the fight quickly as he had never been against such a power type." He said convincingly to the reporters and exploded at the fact that Midoriya had landed hits on the hero killer when others had failed to do so. The reporters were starting to swarm like buzzards and the Ninja hero and his intern decided it was time to leave, as they escaped unnoticed to the older one's car where they took a breath before they started heading to UA.
"Man, your life just got a lot more interesting hey kid?" The hero once again laughs at the younger's misfortune.
(Saint Armor: armor that Midoriya created once he had changed his attitude towards his quirk and weapons. The armor is built like a Javelin from anthem without the additional futuristic elements that the game possesses, bright metallic wings (look up metallic wings and it should be the first image in images), and a helmet that had a white metallic front to it and white material connecting it to the rest of the armor. (Vanita's Helmet.)
