Hello, dear readers. I did say that I'll post a new chapter around this week, and here we are. This wasn't rushed, this was planned in my list for the story itself. In fact, all chapters here in this story weren't rushed at all, so that they won't lose their connection to the story.
Enjoy!
AIR FORCE HERO
Chapter 8: Quirk Combat Practice 101 (Part 2)
"So, these gloves will make sure that it won't hurt my hands when I use my Quirk?" Izuku summarized while putting on his Support Items, which fit like a… well, a glove.
"Actually, that's what I believed, since according to the medical records in your visit with Hope, your right hand got swollen when you used your Quirk…" Sunuzu stated. "In my theory, it goes to show when you used your Quirk, it started to build up raw energy that also had an after effect when you emit it… And that aftereffect is your hands getting swollen…" she yawned afterward.
"Interesting…" Izuku said in amazement at the glove's purpose. "So, how does it work?"
"Just simply push the round button on top of the knuckle, and you got yourself a 0.1-second battle-ready glove… Try it…" Izuku pressed the button as he noticed that it started to glow green to activate it, which left the latter's mouth open. "Pretty cool, huh?"
Izuku nodded in agreement, and Sunuzu continued explaining about the gloves.
"To add… The carbon knuckles can transform into a blaster mode if you straighten up your hand in the air as if you're gonna shoot something, that way it'll save you some time in getting ready and for self-defense… Another interesting part is that the protective shells covering your knuckles can create a powerful output for punching, in order to deal with dangerous stuff more easily…"
"Also, once you build up any amount of raw energy with your Quirk, it can also be used later as backup power for the gloves… And, in case you're thinking that if your new weapons will get destroyed, well don't be too worried about it… Overusing your Quirk is the one thing that will prevent it from getting your gloves destroyed…"
Izuku was still distracted on how well-built and compact the gloves he had received, and how will it be able to assist him later, and for his Quirk. "These are so great! Thank you so much!" he thanked.
"Pssh, it was nothing." The sleepy scientist shrugged off the compliment. "Also, there are two things you need to know: There MIGHT be a chance I could make a new version, and that one is still a prototype, so don't break them…"
"I'll be very careful with them," Izuku said as if it really mattered to him. But it really did, since he already knows that his hands get swollen if he overused his Quirk, without the gloves of course.
"Good… Also, I might have the manual, which you really need since that thing has a lot of very important stuff you need to know…"
"Wait, there's a manual for my –"
Sunuzu interrupted, and for the first time, she yelled to just give Izuku a boost up. "Look at the time! You're gonna get late for today! Go, go, go!"
Izuku panicked, "Gah!" he started to dash off, as he grabbed his helmet. "Uh, thanks again for the lessons!"
"Don't mention it!" Sunuzu responded back. Then, she had a look that only mean that she forgot something. "Oh… I forgot to tell him about the helmet…" but instead she decided to leave. "Eh… I'm sure he's fine without me telling him about it… The helmet's just for design…"
In the present, Izuku and the green-haired sniper student, Setsuna Tokage are both ready to face off against the training robots that they'll defeat for today's activity. The robots are unlike the ones that Team A dealt with earlier, and some of them had back-up with them. The robots are the same as always, but what really caught them off guard is that there are a lot of them compared to Team A's fight. There are two larger and bulkier robots with giant fists that are about as tall as a one-story building. Then there are two drones that looked like a crab and had mechanical claws and not the real crab-like ones and they looked like tanks.
Izuku looked confused at the number of new robots added to the activity. "Wait, how come there are other robots that weren't seen for Team A?"
Before Setsuna could speak, Kurodai spoke to the intercom once again, and explained, "In case if you're wondering why there's a new set of robots and not just the normal ones, is because this was a first-level army you're going to be dealing with. This is what the Hero Course used during their first day. But since you're new here, we brought it back, and for sure… our sniper student still has her skills with her."
Setsuna let out a chuckle, "Heh. Like I lost my spark two years ago? Yeah, right." She turned her attention to Izuku. "You can do this, Midoriya! It's gonna be easy, and fun at the same time for your first try."
Izuku looked back and remembered the training and lesson from All Might. "Yeah. Yeah, you're right. I can do this." He put on his helmet, with the lenses glowed in the start.
"Like the motivation and that helmet," Setsuna said to herself and smiled as she is ready to shoot some of the same robots again.
Then, the alarm blared throughout the field, as the training robots began to make their move as they charged themselves at the two students. Setsuna immediately grappled her way out using a grappling hook wrist gauntlet on her right. Meanwhile, Izuku was left behind, and didn't even escape from the robotic charge.
"Okay, focus. Just remember what All Might told you. Just let the energy flow on your arms and through your hand…"
He activated his Quirk once again. This time, the green sparks on his arms didn't fade away as it just kept going and flowing around his arm, until it started to reach his open palmed hand. While waiting, three training robots charged at him, making him an easy target to get maimed.
"… and release it!"
Gritting his teeth, Izuku fired three air bolts to one of the robots each. This caused them to lose their heads, while some received a hole pierced on their chest. Izuku watched as the lesson really worked for him as he watched the now-shot robots fall to the ground.
The robots looked at this and began to attack back at the green-haired boy. Izuku became aware of this and used this advantage as he somehow created an evasion move with his Quirk, by blasting an air bolt to the ground that sent him to the air. The robots watched, as Izuku used his Quirk again to some robots while in mid-air.
Izuku landed on the ground with his two feet, not even breaking his own legs from the fall and it's all thanks to Sunuzu creating powerful boots to save him. The robots decided to use some teamwork of their own, as the crab bots launched their pinchers at the green-haired boy, which he dodged at the moment of time. Izuku quickly fired air bolts at the crab drone's head but didn't have any effect on it, except for creating dents. He witnessed that a robot on his left was about to punch him, so he dodged it when he did it in time. This led Izuku to punch the robot with his right fist. Then, he quickly evaded his space as two more came out of nowhere. Izuku draw out his right arm in the air and shot out multiple air shots as they were taken out.
Suddenly, the robot that Izuku punched earlier got up from its feet. However, before it could do anything, he was taken out by the sound of a sniper rifle being fired. The head jumped on the ground as it stopped by Izuku's feet. He can tell where it came from, judging by the sniper shot.
Then, Setsuna appeared out of nowhere, as she took out three robots with her sniper rifle. The way how she shot all three of them wasn't just one by one, but with a skillful speed and precise aiming that must have been years of practice and excellent vision.
Setsuna looked back at Izuku with a grin, "Sorry if I had to keep you waiting. I was waiting for my Quirk to let out some ammo." She reloaded her rifle with three bullets. "And, I couldn't let you have all the fun, so I made a little entrance."
"Well, thanks for the assistance." Izuku thanked, but even minding what she said.
"Don't mention it. Now, less talking, more fighting!" Setsuna declared as she started to sprint away after taking two shots. The robot army, of what's left of them, began to charge at the two.
And thus, the real activity begins.
With Setsuna escaping and letting the robots follow her to get to a hiding spot, Izuku used Quirk once again to shoot one of the robots, who jumped as an act of attack, that's about to tackle him to the ground. However, he missed a few but was able to take the rest quickly. Then, the other robots that he missed landed and were about to attack him immediately. Izuku took out three robots by just delivering normal punches that were very effective, due to his Quirk being active as of now. One robot was about to deliver a hammer fist, but Izuku counterattacked and delivered a straightfoward punch to the robot to destroy it, which is similar to All Might's Detroit Smash.
Then, the crab drone's pincher was fired once again, this time, Izuku ran as fast as he could and was able to dodge it despite its speed similar to Kurodai's Quirk. As he remembered that the crab bot's head caused only dents, the only way to destroy it is to create enough force. Izuku blasted himself, repeatedly shoot the head while in mid-air, and delivered a straightforward punch that went through the head, destroying it. Luckily, he didn't get his hand injured.
In the observation room, All Might watched the green-haired boy carefully and grew a smile that he was able to learn a move of his own. "Impressive, young Midoriya. He really did copy some of my moves, and just moved differently."
"What are talking about? Midoriya's not creating super moves at all, he just quickly strategized the robots to get himself not killed." Kurodai interjected with his fact.
"True." He agreed. "But that's not what I'm really focusing on. He told me that he wanted to learn some of my moves. So, I teach him my moves, and he created different versions of it, but kept the originality." He explained.
"But I never saw you done that before. Your body is actually buffed ever since before you retired, but he looked flexible enough to pull out that kind of move." Kurodai stated.
"Exactly." The former No. 1 responded. There was a reason now why he performed a similar move to All Might's.
The last crab bot fired both pinchers to the now-destroyed crab bot, but Izuku was able to jump out of the head before it could be taken away by another one. The green-haired boy decided to get to a much larger and wider area in order to attack the robots again with much ease in just shooting air blasts with his Quirk.
He witnessed that the training robots were back again, and this time, they cornered Izuku's position and began to charge at him. Izuku took out the two from his left and right only, but was able to duck down when a robot was about to attack him from behind. The other robot behind his left was countered by Izuku when he got alerted. He dodged some punches, and quickly grabbed the robot's fist, much to his surprise to say the least. But knowing that this is an advantage, he gave the training bot an air blast. The other robot that he ducked attempted to attack the green-haired boy with punches, but he delivered an ax kick that destroyed the robot, due to the durability of his boots.
Suddenly, a larger robot jumped out into the air and landed straight to Izuku. The latter didn't back out as he just kept on shooting it with his air blast, however, the larger robot didn't seem to be affected by it, so it just launched its bulky, large fist to the ground, and Izuku quickly avoided it.
"Crap! It's no use! The crab ones were easily destroyed a while ago, but I did with my Quirk." Izuku remembered, "If only I could…" he then had an idea. "That's it! I need to get to a higher area and try to attack it behind its head, but it has to work somehow." He theorized as he just ran to get to a higher area, while blasting the larger robot.
Meanwhile back with Setsuna, the green-haired sniper was busy hiding in plain sight after the robots chased her down. The training robots began to search the entire area for Setsuna, but somehow, despite being robots, they felt scared in wherever she is. It was like a game of hide-and-seek, except that they're looking for a sniper that can't be caught.
The first shot was released, as it went straight to a training robot. This caused the other training bots to be alerted, but they were ultimately shot down out of nowhere. One robot observed and realized that there is a triangular-shaped scale that acted as a bullet, which is stuck on another training robot's head. The training robot watched its brother get shot, and turned its direction to the top, only to be shot as well by the same bullet.
"Headshot, you bucket of bolts." Setsuna snickered as she pulled back the chamber of her rifle, grabbed at four triangular scale pieces on her left arm, and placed each of them to reload her gun. Right now, she's hiding inside a fake apartment building, which looked perfect enough as a hiding spot due to its many windows. "This is how last year exactly looked like. Just glad that these brainless dummies didn't see my hiding spot."
Setsuna Tokage, AKA The Reptilian Sniper Hero: REP-60! Her Quirk: Scale Bullet! She can take out one of her scales sprouting on her skin, and use them as bullets! Her bullets act like a gorilla's fist because of how thick they are, and she can also manifest other types of bullets, like piercing bullets and curved bullets! This Quirk is so useful, you don't even have to waste all your money on bullets!
Setsuna watched through her scope as she saw the training robots running around in fear. It gave her a big grin that didn't look like maniacs. She was just enjoying it. "That's right, run all you want. I got another set of bullets with me, and I'm just getting started!" she pulled the trigger once again which shot a training robot's leg off, as it tried to call for help.
The training robots noticed this as they began to be shot away one by one, as they couldn't even escape from Setsuna's aiming, since she has good eyesight and extreme focus. Even the wind that was blowing on her face didn't get her distracted to lose her focus. The large robot then watched where the bullets are coming from, so it grabbed rubble from the ground and throw it at where Setsuna is, hoping that it will stop her.
Unfortunately, it didn't as it hit the wall behind Setsuna, and it only made the sniper pissed. "Want your turn, huh? Fine!" she focused her aim on the large robot and fired her shot at the head. The scale that she fired was a piercing bullet, that went through the large robot's head like butter.
The crab drone fired its pincher at Setsuna's hiding spot. Setsuna couldn't tell if her hiding spot was already found since the pincher went through the room she is in. The pincher grabbed hold of the building as it started to pull back, causing it to rip apart to collapse.
"Crap!" she yelled as she noticed that the apartment room was beginning to be torn apart. However, Setsuna knew what to do as she immediately ran, jumped out, and grappled to the ceiling as she watched the room fall to the ground. She shifted her attention to the crab bot from afar. Although, luckily that the robots she's facing right now are all from last year, she came up with a technique that she wanted to do.
"Hope this technique works, 'cause it was just an idea. And it never really happened!" Setsuna hoped, but she had no other choice so she has to try it.
Setsuna moved her body to create a movement to swing herself at the other building, which worked in the process. Then, she raced herself as the crab drone focused its attention on her, and fired its other pincher, but it crashed to the building she was standing on and was able to keep her distance. Setsuna draw out her rifle and a piercing bullet that snapped off the thick carbon wire. Then, as she landed on the ground, she prepared to aim the crab drone once again, but at the legs.
BANG! BANG!
Two bullets were fired. Each of them pierced through the legs as the crab drone landed on the ground. Then, she finished it off as she grabbed a small detonator, and throw it at the crab drone's head. She fired a normal scale bullet as it hit the detonator, and it exploded the crab drone in the process.
She was proud that she was able to do this all by herself. Now all she has to do is to focus on one more thing
Izuku Midoriya, whatever it is he's doing.
The green-haired boy is put in a much tight situation than Setsuna did. The only difference is that he attempted to set his plan into motion: All he needs to do is get to a higher area and try to attack it behind its head. Sounds kinda easy for a plan like that, right?
The green-haired boy landed on the ground. He groaned in pain, and he sounded exhausted.
No. It wasn't that easy.
Izuku attempted to try his plan, only for the latter to get blocked by the large robot's hands, forcing him to land back at the ground, run back at the same place where he blasted himself in the air, and repeat. So far, judging by how tired he looked, he's been doing for about three times. He was wondering if Setsuna finished, maybe he could run to her and ask for assistance. But the latter stayed back and kept doing it until it was right.
Izuku ran back again at the same highest point, as he air-blasted himself in the air, and repeatedly shoot it with air bolts from his Quirk. The large robot blocked itself with its large hands. The latter propelled blasted the air once again as he moved quickly to the back of the head. Seeing it not being blocked by its hands, Izuku aimed to get a good shot, but the robot's head turned around and it made him stop as he landed on the ground.
This was the fourth time he did this, and despite shooting it with air bolts, it was only just getting harder and harder for him to do.
However, his attempts in destroying that robot will be all over as a giant fist was about to hit Izuku. The latter watched as he couldn't even move properly anymore by the next second. So, he just watched as he let the robot do what it has to do.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
The robot paused and noticed that it's getting hit by the same scale bullets, but this time, it wasn't a piercing bullet that ended it its programming. Instead, it came from Setsuna, who's using normal scale bullets from her Quirk. Izuku watched as he knew that help would come to him.
"I got distracted! Go!" Tokage shouted, and Izuku listened. Her rifle was out of ammo, so she started running after the robot strike its large hands on the top building, this time it was blocking her path of escape, and she knew that escaping from behind is a lot tougher since it's the ground is covered in rubble that might kill her.
Izuku observed and knew what was bound to happen. "I see… Tokage's using herself as a distraction so the robot can get its attention to her, and instead of me." He knew what he had to do. "I know what to do now. But I have to act quick!"
Izuku launched himself again in the air and repeatedly kept doing it as he was able to reach the large robot's head in mid-air. However, his hands started to tremble, which could only mean that he went to his limit.
"No, not yet! I can't let this happen now! I have to take the shot!" The robot raised its hand as it prepared to slam Setsuna like a bug. She knew that this wasn't like last year and since Izuku was part of it, it wasn't a lot different. But she didn't know it'll go like this.
As Izuku is in mid-air already, he was able to spot the robot's head, and it wasn't being guarded by its own hands. Immediately, since he doesn't have long being in mid-air, he raised his arms straight, aimed for the head, and fired two air bolts directly at the head, which pierced through it like a knife.
The large robot began to stop as its arms were slowly being put down. Setsuna watched as she was stunned. Then after a moment, the robot fell to the ground, destroyed.
Setsuna smiled as she was fascinated to see that Izuku pulled out a stunt that was beyond anyone in the Hero Course, especially herself and her other classmates. She was excited to do what was next after receiving a response from Kurodai through her earpiece.
"You know what to do. Remember, take it easy, this is still an activity."
"On it, sensei." She responded.
Izuku landed on the ground and panted like a dog due to how exhausted he was. But what really mattered is that he was able to take out the robot, with Setsuna's help in distracting it. But what did matter is that he was able to take it out when he somehow created a Super Move of his own.
And that exhausted look turned into a proud look.
"I did it. I really did it!" the green-haired boy shouted. "I used my Quirk without harming myself and got some help from Tokage-san. But more importantly, I really did well in the activity! My Quirk was able to shoot the same air pressure similar to All Might's Quirk, then…"
While he kept on rambling, All Might watched Izuku with a proud look of his own. He knew that training the boy wasn't such a bad idea as he thought about it in the first place. He knew that this was something that Izuku pass on.
Meanwhile, Kurodai watched the whole thing and was impressed to see how his new student, Setsuna, performed. He knew that Izuku was able to complete the activity with no zero accidents and one assistance of teamwork. He can already tell that Setsuna had it easy, but there were some changes that went throughout the activity. Regardless, they did well.
All Might spoke. "I knew that these students had potential after all, even if this is just an activity. Young Tokage still had her skill with her even after first year in the KMA. But mostly, young Midoriya took the entire spotlight!" He sounded so proud when he emphasized his support for Izuku. "The young man really had it in him."
"Yeah, that's nice on hearing that." Kurodai agreed. "But let's see what happens if there are two people in the same field fight each other instead?"
"W-What do you mean, Kurodai?" All Might asked.
"You'll see." That is all that Kurodai could say.
"That actually sounded great, Midoriya," Setsuna called out, causing the green-haired boy to stop his rambling. "Honestly, I'm actually impressed that you made all this way. Especially coming from a new student to the Hero Course."
"T-Thank you, Tokage-san!" Izuku thanked.
"Oh yeah, one more thing. Heads up!"
BANG!
The sound of the sniper rifle was shot once again. This time, the scale bullet was fired directly to Izuku's stomach, which caused a pressured force that look like someone punched him in the gut. The green-haired boy fell to the ground and grabbed his stomach in pain, groaning.
"Sorry, the force of habit." Setsuna bluntly apologized. "But don't worry, that scale bullet was a normal one. I just add some rubber into it, which I had in my pocket."
Izuku tried to get over the pain. "Why did you do that?" he asked.
"Well, I didn't really forget saying this to you, but here in the KMA, you don't just pass on some activities like these," Setsuna explained. "You see, fighting robots is an example in case if you're going to be dealing with normal missions in the future. But what's more important is that you need to fight your real opponents aside from Nomus: And that's the Omega Villains." He stated. "Since this activity is about learning how to fight with your Quirk, you also need to learn how to fight to defend yourself, or stop an Omega Villain on your own."
It makes sense now to Izuku. He knew that he won't just fight Nomus that are roaming around the city. He needs to deal with Omega Villans, who are much worse than Nomus, since they're far more dangerous with their mysterious Quirks, or how many times they've been considered wanted to the world.
"So, get ready, cause stopping me is part of the activity!" the reptilian sniper reloaded her rifle. "Think fast!"
BANG!
Luckily, the second bullet went past him. Izuku got up quickly, despite the shock he just received, and immediately ran away from the skilled, reptilian sniper that is Setsuna Tokage. The sniper had her sights on Izuku very well, but she didn't want to shoot him immediately. She just wanted to scare him a bit in order for him to get ready for a situation like this in the future.
So far, being partners with him didn't make her regret what she's doing right now.
He needed this. He needed to know. Because the one thing in most militaries is that he needs to expect the unexpected.
The green-haired boy managed to find a hiding spot of his own, which is actually a claw arm from a crab drone. He was lucky that the arm wasn't pierced with her scales since its very durable. He knew that popping out and shooting her with his Quirk will only make it worse. But hiding behind the arm won't make him stay there forever as long as he likes. He needs to find a way to stop her.
Bu the only question is: How.
"Young Midoriya, can you hear me?"
His answer: All Might. What can the former Symbol of Peace do in a situation like this?
Instead, Izuku just let it play along and answered back. "All Might? How are you able to connect me through my helmet?"
"KMA technology, Young Midoriya. They're advance enough to create communicators with any type they make." All Might stated. "But that's not what I call you for that. I think I might be able to help you how to stop Young Tokage."
"Really? How?"
"Well… it's not much of giving you some help. But you need to learn how to strategize most situations you'll be facing. Such as this one right now."
"Why do I need to strategize in fighting Omega Villains and Nomus? I thought I was going to learn how to fight with my Quirk?"
"That's what exactly you're doing now, Young Midoriya. You see, Omega Villains aren't easy to deal with nor stop at. Since they have powerful Quirks and skills that are well-trained that will outmatch you or anyone that's a Hero or Agent, the one thing that can't be outmatched is strategy." All Might explained. "For a once young man, use your big head of yours just like you did during our training, and plan a strategy to stop your opponent." And that's where he ended his call.
It's not really a lesson nor a reminder for Izuku, but it was also life advice that he needed to – No. It was something that he needs to remember most.
He needs to figure out how to stop his opponents, Omega Villain or Nomu alike. He needed a strategy if he wants to stop them in the future.
Meanwhile, Setsuna stopped firing her sniper rifle and let out a bored sigh. "Man… I wonder what's making Midoriya so long? Probably he got exhausted or something. Maybe if I yell out something that comes to my mind, then maybe it'll give him the motivation." She said to herself as she took a deep breath, and yelled. "Hey! Midoriya! Where are you?! Come on dude, it's not fun if you're out in the open! My Quirk doesn't really act like an unlimited dispenser, too!"
She grabbed a few scales from her arm and realized how many were on her hand. "Four left? Wow, exact ammo much? Well…" she loaded all of them, "Time for me to put them to good use." She cocked her gun to reload the first bullet.
Back to Midoriya, he was carefully examining Setsuna's sniper position, "Okay… So Tokage can easily know where I am, since she has good eyesight and knows how to use a sniper rifle. Although, if I'm right, aren't snipers supposed to be good at hearing, too?" he glanced to his right and noticed a window on top, "Hmm… What if she got distracted by something, it might give me the time to run at her position."
Izuku tested his first strategy idea as he activated his Quirk, and blasted an air bolt to the window, breaking the glass in an instant. Setsuna was alerted by the sound of glass breaking throughout the area, as she quickly held her fire with her rifle.
"Wh… What?" she was confused, the reptilian sniper heard it, but no sign of Izuku. "Where is he?" unknown to her, the green-haired left his hiding spot and started making a run for it. The latter realized why she heard the window break. "Ah… I see what you're doing." She smirked as the answer was right under her nose. "You're trying to distract me by creating a diversion. Well, that won't happen cause I – Aha!"
She spotted Izuku running towards her sniping position, with his legs moving faster than it was now. The reptilian sniper smirked, knowing she's going to enjoy firing all her four, non-wasted bullets, "I don't know what's why you're using that training bot's body, but I'm so going to enjoy this." She chuckled, as she fired the first one with ease.
BANG!
The first was fired, and it dodged right next to Izuku's helmet. It was like a lucky was charm was granted for the green-haired boy. One was bullet was wasted. "Ok Greenie, that was a lucky dodge you just got!" Setsuna growled as she fired the second one.
BANG!
The second bullet was fired. This time, Izuku immediately covered himself with the training bot's body, using it as a shield. When the bullet went straight to the body, Izuku was saved by the cover. However, he didn't know that the body's chest plating won't be durable for a long time.
BANG!
The third shot was fired. The bullet hit the shield body once again, but Izuku dropped it as he didn't need it anymore, and he was already close to her sniping position. Setsuna looked like she became the first idiot to waste three bullets from her Quirk, and still couldn't pin Midoriya down just like she planned it.
"Grr, that's it. You just got lucky this time, Midoriya. But now…" she cocked the chamber, as her rifle is now armed with the last bullet, "You won't be able to see this coming."
With Setsuna aiming at the running green-haired boy with no distractions this time, the latter activated his Quirk as he lowered his arms behind his back, and wait for the right moment. After a few seconds, he already made his move.
PEW! BAM!
BANG!
Setsuna and Izuku both fired their weapons at the exact, same time. Her last scale bullet was fired and for sure it didn't hit the green-haired boy, but the ground instead. All four bullets, wasted. Meanwhile, said green-haired boy blasted the ground to create an air blast that jumped him out of the ground and hovered in the sky like a rocket. However, the trajectory of the blast didn't just make him fly up in the air, but it also made him land straight to Setsuna as he tackled the reptilian sniper, much to her confusion.
The green-haired boy tackled her and rolled to the ground as Izuku tried his best to pin her down, while Setsuna is used all of her strength to let go of the boy's weight and grip her arms. Instead, her senses kicked in as she kicked him off of her body, sending Izuku far away from her, both of them got up and regain themselves.
"Okay, I'll give you that, Greenie. You managed to dodge my bullets and got here in one piece. Gotta say I'm impressed." She smiled as she walked towards the boy, who is now in his fighting pose. "But if there's one thing that you forgot, then it's my mixed kickboxing and taekwondo."
She made the first move as she delivered a roundhouse kick at Izuku, who got hit by the face. Then, Setsuna delivered a few punches in order to make Izuku fall down to the ground, but the latter kept avoiding it, except for one that actually managed to hit him. The boy counterattacked as he blocked Setsuna's next punch by grabbing it with his hand. The boy then delivered some straightforward punches at the girl which was effective, but the reptilian sniper avoided his punch and delivered a gut punch. The green-haired boy felt that, so he delivered a punch to the face so fast, that it created enough force that might have given the sniper a broken nose. He just hoped it's not.
Realizing what he did, Izuku ran to the groaning girl, "Oh, my God! Tokage-san, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" he sounded worried.
The girl stopped groaning, "Yeah, I'm fine. It's… It's just a…" she clenched her right hand, and gave him a punch to the gut once again. "RRRAGGHH!"
The boy felt it so painfully for the second time, and he couldn't move properly because of it. He can no longer move his body to fight back since he can tell that Setsuna is a skilled fighter in using both kickboxing and taekwondo altogether. Instead, the green-haired boy activated his Quirk and blasted an air bolt in a flash.
Setsuna wasn't able to see block it and only said these two words. "Oh, crap."
The girl felt the impact of the air bolt on her body. It felt like three fists went straight to her and forced her to just get on the ground in defeat, and it looked painful as she let her body lie down to the ground flat, as her body was like it was going to shut down. He didn't know that Izuku was able to use his Quirk and use it against her. She didn't know that the green-haired boy had a trump card with him, and it looked very clever.
The latter tried to get up, but Izuku suddenly arrived and made sure that she is pinned to the ground. "Do you give up?"
Setsuna coughed, "Yeah… I do." She let out a satisfied sigh. "Gotta say, that was a pretty cool move you pulled right there, Midoriya. I think you just might be my favorite classmate after all." Her face formed a Cheshire cat smile.
The green-haired boy can only respond by blushing in embarrassment, that his face almost looks like a literal tomato.
But it also marked the end of his first activity.
At the end of the activity, the entire class of five students was formed outside of the Mock Field. With the cleaning crew entering the field to clean up the damage that was been made, which they didn't complain about, the students on the other hand were proud that the activity ended with them passing. Izuku felt proud that he was able to pass with flying colors.
"So to end today's activity, all of had improved well with your skills and the usage of your Quirks. I've seen a lot of good things out there from all of you, and I don't really mind if you have to resort to extreme measures. What matters most is that you were able to deal with the situation in this activity, which will somehow reflect back on your future career as Agents." Kurodai said in his speech that made everyone feel thankful. Then he faced Izuku. "Midoriya, what I saw out there was the great skill with your short training from All Might. I'm impressed that you were this skillful despite your being new since Day 1. Keep it up, soldier."
"Hai, sensei! I promise that I'll do better." The green-haired boy bowed down.
"You're all dismissed. Wait for bus transport to pick you all up." Kurodai ordered as he walked away from his students. After a few moments, Izuku was then approached by the rest of Kurodai's students in a friendly matter.
"Hey, Midoriya! That was incredible out there! I never knew that training with All Might for thirty minutes made you pass the activity like us! I'm impressed!" Floyd said kindly.
"Yeah! I mean, sure, some of our ways of fighting weren't like yours, since you strategized. But that doesn't mean you suck at it!" Rachel joined in as well.
"They're actually right about you, Midoriya. You didn't just attack Setsuna like what we did, but it was with wits!" Alex said as well.
Izuku never knew that this is what having a compliment feels like. For years, he did a lot that made him excel in school so well, but the result ended with harsh words from students and teachers saying that 'it's okay' and 'seen it' since they don't have any interest. But right now, Izuku was proud that he was being complimented by new faces that treated him like their own.
"Thanks, guys." He responded to the back with a smile.
"Hey, don't forget me." Izuku turned to face Setsuna, with her signature smile on. "Let's not forget that fight that you and I had. I'm really a douchebag who wanted to get into fights as a sign of making friends, but the way you stopped me was really cool, though. You gut what it takes, after all, Greenie!"
Izuku didn't say anything but just smiled and nodded. There was even a faded blush on his cheek, feeling a bit embarrassed since he didn't freak out this time.
While the students are now having a chat on what they wanted to do after they head back to the command base, Kurodai walked to All Might, who was watching the students being students. Mostly, he focused his attention to Izuku, his first student who managed to remember his short training that went successfully. Despite no longer being a Pro Hero and the Symbol of Peace, he still smiled. He smiled as he was proud that the green-haired boy had potential.
All he can say is that he is proud that the gree-haired boy was able to pull all through this, since the moment he first met him.
Well, that was the end of Part 2 of the Quirk Combat Practice. What will Izuku do next on his first year of the Hero Course? Find out in the next chapter.
Anyway, got nothing to say, except that if you're a fan of RWBY, I made this story called 'The Arc That Never Gave Up'. Trust me, you'll be interested in it. Please leave a review, and I'll see you in the next chapter!
