Chapter 5 Mind-Boggling Dynamax
Ash and Serena are now on the train to the Wild Area, they are eating in a dining car while Scorbunny is looking at them. Ash and Serena are so into their talk as they didn't notice the bunny Pokemon.
"You know, this bread is really hard." Ash says as he looks at the bread.
"Well then, why don't you break it up with your hands before eating it?" Serena asks as she is doing what she just suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea." Ash says with a smile as they continue their breakfast.
Scorbunny has been trying to gain their attention, but Ash doesn't see it and he just says, "I think I might have seen something."
"Really? What is it?" Serena asks.
"I don't know. It must have been my imagination." Ash shrugs.
In the end, Scorbunny is frustrated that he is ignored by both Ash and Serena, as they leave the train car. Scorbunny kicks an Oran Berry, and it accidentally hits a waiter, causing him to fall and the food is split on him. That is then he realizes he is in trouble as he quickly flees the area.
After a while, the train stops at a station, where Serena and Ash get off. Scorbunny notices it and he quickly rushes through the cars of the train but fails to get off the train.
"All right, let's go find a giant Pokemon!" Ash says. Serena is looking on the phone and says, "Better get some pointers first."
They decide to ask a concierge for more information, Ash says, "Excuse me, I've heard there are Pokemon that grow giant around here. Do you know anything about it?"
"Grow giant?" The concierge says, "Oh, you must mean Dynamax."
"Dynamax?" Serena asks. "So that's what it is called?"
"That's right. You can find it by following the red lights." The concierge says.
While Ash and Serena are some exploration and snapshots, Scorbunny manages to open a window and he decides to jump off the train, after rolling and crashing into the tree, he starts to follow the tracks as he remembers Ash. But then he is chased by the train, blocked by a flock of Wooloo, and forced to swim in the water even though it is a Fire Type, but still no sign of both trainers.
"Are these the red lights the station worker was talking about?" Ash looks at the lights on the crossing signals, and Serena says, "I don't think so..."
After the train passes, they leap over the tracks and they see a napping Snorlax. "It's a Snorlax..." Ash says.
Serena is scanning it and it says, "Snorlax, the Sleeping Pokémon. A Normal type. Snorlax eats over 400 pounds of food every day. As it begins to eat, it falls asleep and it sleeps while it eats. Its average height is a bit less than seven feet."
"I think we should record this." Serena says and Ash nods, but after investigation, Ash and Serena frown as they don't think it is the Dynamax that they want to find.
Ash says, "It just looks like the size of my own Snorlax...I don't think this is it..."
Serena says, "Yeah, I expected something grander..."
"I feel the same way..." Ash says. "Maybe Professor Cerise wanted to teach us that things aren't always as impressive in real life as stories make them out to be."
Serena says, "And it really isn't moving at all... We should observe it for a bit longer, I guess."
As they are investigating, Scorbunny finally found Ash and Serena and he rejoices. They are trying to gain their attention once again, but Ash points at the Sitrus Berry on the tree and says, "Serena, do you think maybe Snorlax is waiting for that to fall?"
"There's no way." Serena says. "It'd just grab that if it wanted to eat it, yeah?"
"You think so?" Ash asks, but suddenly, he feels a rock hitting his head as he falls, and the rock also makes the Sitrus Berry knocked out of a tree and directly into the sleeping Snorlax's mouth. Snorlax chews the fruit and spits out the seed before returning to its slumber.
"I guess you were right." Serena sighs. But Ash is in pain and he asks, "Who throw that rock at me?"
As they turn around, they find the Scorbunny, and Ash says, "Scorbunny?"
The Scorbunny is hugging Serena's leg, and Serena says, "Is this the Scorbunny from yesterday? But it is not brown...it must have washed off the mud."
"Yeah, you look better this way!" Ash says as he bends down. "Were you following us?"
Scorbunny nods as he jumps in the air. Serena says, "Ash, I think they want to come with us."
"Huh? Are you sure about that? You want to come with us?" Ash asks, and Scorbunny nods vigorously while giving a smile. "If that's the case, here."
Ash takes out a Pokeball, and he captures Scorbunny, then Ash sends out Scorbunny out as he hears the Pokedex saying, "Scorbunny's data has been added to the Index."
"Well, that's is our first Galar Pokemon." Serena says.
"Yeah..." Ash says, but suddenly, mysterious red lights appear and float towards Snorlax.
"Red lights?" Ash asks. "Don't tell me..." Serena adds.
A burst of energy then engulfs Snorlax, causing it to swell to enormous proportions before it emerges in its Gigantamax form.
"Ash, what is going to happen?" Serena asks with a scared tone. "How am I supposed to know?" Ash replies.
They start to run until it stops growing, and Snorlax is now also blocking the train tracks.
"Is this Dynamax that the Concierge mentioned?" Serena asks.
"This is a mountain!" Ash adds. "I mean, it's massive, and there's even a tree up there!"
Serena looks at the tracks and she says, "This is bad, Ash!"
Ash also notices it and he says, "What?! It's on the tracks!"
"A train will pass by here in eight minutes." Serena says as she checks on the phone.
"What? We need to get it out of there!" Ash says as they try to wake up the Snorlax and even push it, but it doesn't budge.
"Stand aside, Serena, Scorbunny. Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu tries to shock awake the Pokemon, but it doesn't work. Just then, it fires the Hyper Beam in its sleep, as the two humans manage to dodge in time.
"Is it moving in its sleep?" Serena asks.
"Whatever the case, we have to move it, and fast!" Ash says. They try to wake it up again, but it is the same result.
"Ash! Look!" Serena says as she points on top of the tree on Snorlax's belly. There is another Sitrus Berry there. "If we drop that berry...It might move to eat it!"
"Got it! I'll give it a try!" Ash says. "Pikachu! Scorbunny! Let's do this."
"Sylveon, we'll do it too." Serena says as Sylveon also comes with her. The two of them are struggling to get up on top of Snorlax, and they eventually get on top of the tree.
"Wow, that berry is big." Ash says.
Serena adds, "Yeah, and it is insane...Where are we going to drop that?"
Serena looks around and she finds the mouth, she says, "Ash! Drop the berry right there!"
"Got it!" Ash says. "Pikachu, hit it with an Iron Tail!"
Pikachu nods as his Iron Tail fails to cut through the thick stem. "No good...Serena! How much time do we have left?" Ash yells.
"Four more minutes!" Serena says after checking her phone.
"Then it's all or nothing! Pikachu, use Iron Tail, Scorbunny, Double Kick."
Both Pokemon are trying to cut the berry and Ash is also using his body to shake it, after the berry falls, Serena says, "Way to go! Ash!"
"Serena! It's headed your way!" Ash yells, but the berry just stops due to bushes blocking the way.
"That's not good." Serena says as both she and Sylveon are trying to move the berry, but it is not moving, and they can hear the train's sound getting closer and closer.
"Scorbunny!" Ash yells as the Pokemon rushes to help by pushing the berry. Ash says, "Use your Double Kick! Scorbunny!"
Scorbunny nods as he kicks the berry, and the Pokemon just kicks it and causing the berry to finally move and rolls towards the Snorlax's mouth. Snorlax leaps upwards to grab the berry, and as it plummets, the shockwave stops the approaching train.
Ash gasps and he says, "Oh no...did Snorlax eat Scorbunny?" Ash and Pikachu run towards the mouth and he says, "Hey, you can't just eat Scorbunny like that!"
As the Dynamax ends, Snorlax returns to normal and he spits out Scorbunny, who is covered with silva. "Thank goodness." Ash says as he grabs the Scorbunny, who shakes off the water on its body.
"Scorbunny, you did it." Ash says as he holds Scorbunny's hands. "Look, your Double Kick saved everyone."
Scorbunny looks at Ash, who smiles at him. Serena says, "Thank you for helping us out, Scorbunny."
Scorbunny is happy as he is so touched, and they have a high five with the feet and the hand.
Ash and Serena are now back at Cerise Laboratory. They update Professor Cerise on their adventures with a Gigantamax Snorlax. "Really? A Dynamax Snorlax?"
"Yeah, it was as big as a mountain!" Ash says.
"And it still managed to jump at that size." Serena adds.
"Sounds like quite the experience!" Professor Cerise says.
Yamper runs in and starts barking at Scorbunny, though Pikachu quickly settles the situation. Scorbunny is left feeling jealous of the Electric duo's playful friendship, so it returns to Ash for comfort.
"Looks like we have captured another Pokemon with a character..." Serena says.
"I know...and a Fire Type as well, it seems like Charizard, Infernape and the others are going to have another member to train with..." Ash says with a chuckle.
"Not to mention my Delphox as well." Serena says. "Though I wonder what kind of Galar Pokemon we should capture next?"
"We'll see about that." Ash says.
Just then, Chloe comes back from school and she says, "I am back."
Ash and Serena turn to Chloe and Ash says, "Welcome back, Chloe. How is school?"
Chloe frowns and says, "You won't understand if I talk about it." Then she walks into the lab as Ash and Serena are confused. "What's up with her? I mean...is she angry at us?" Serena asks.
Professor Cerise says, "Don't worry, Chloe usually acts like this. You'll have to get used to it."
"If you say so..." Ash says.
At the same time, Chloe is sitting at her desk, and she says, "I can't believe Ash and Serena are in a relationship...I admit I had feelings for Ash when I was little...but look what happened to me now...will I ever find love like Ash and Serena?"
Here is a new chapter, and I have some news regarding the story. A lot of people have asked me to make a list of the Pokemon Ash and Serena have captured, I have been thinking of it as well, but I decided to reveal the new captures or the Evolutions in the chapter in the end since the list is so damn long and you can see how big a list in Ash's Story or Ash's Alola Story. The second thing is that this story is going to be from the anime, but Ash and Serena are only going to capture those who are important in the anime. I hope you all understand and I hope you like this chapter.
