[Route One: Kanto Region]

Jaune was traveling down route one with Pikachu on his left shoulder looking around for anything. Both trainer and Pokemon have been on route one for the last several hours on their way to Viridian City. They were also on the lookout in case they spotted any Pokemon Jaune could add to his team as he knew going into a Pokemon battle with only one Pokemon was probably not a very good idea...

"Wow this route is long...as least it's a nice day since there is no unexpected rain as there isn't even a cloud in the sky. The temperature is not too bad as it's not too hot and it's not too cold. The sun also isn't that bad as although there's no cloud in the sky I feel like there's no need for cover."said Jaune as he spotted a nearby large rock.

The rock looked smooth enough for him to sit on so he decided to take a quick break as he was a little hungry and he really wanted to see what Delia packed him for lunch. So after approaching the rock, Jaune took off his backpack as he sat down on the rock with Pikachu jumping down to the floor to see what Jaune was up to.

"Just give me a moment little buddy."said Jaune as he pulled out what looked like pastrami sandwiches along with what look like a bottle of ketchup.

"These look delicious but what's the bottle of ketchup for?"Jaune asked himself before Pikachu grabs that bottle of ketchup by jumping into the air and taking it from Jaune's hand

Before Jaune could say anything else Pikachu quickly opened up the bottle of ketchup and begin slurping its contents. Jaune was certainly caught off guard by this as he would have never expected Pikachu do love ketchup as it was clear by the expression on his face that Pikachu was loving it.

"Okay... you seriously look like my friend Ruby when she's eating a plate of cookies."said Jaune is Pikachu licked some of the ketchup off of his lips, making Jaune believe this even more.

"Oh well... may be hard to watch but everyone has the right to eat what they want to eat."said Jaune as he took out one of the pastrami sandwiches and began eating it.

As Jaune as finishing the last piece of bread of the sandwich he suddenly felt something pecking at his head?! Jaune try swating whatever it was away but this just appeared to infuriate whatever was pecking him as it bite Jaune's finger.

"OUCH!"said Jaune as he got up to see what had just bitten his finger!

There in front of him and his spilled bread was clearly a Pokemon that looked a lot like a pigeon as said Pokemon was seemingly ignoring him and instead focusing on eating the bread that Jaune had spilled.

Jaune, curious to see what Pokemon just bit him used his other hand to pull out his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon in front of him.

Pokedex: Pidgey, the tiny bird Pokemon. Pidgey usually doesn't like to battle, but it won't hesitate to attack if provoked.

"Okay you are clearly an exception to other Pidgeys since you literally just attacked me to get a piece of my sandwich."said Jaune as his finger still stings from the bite.

Pidgey meanwhile I was completely ignoring him as it continued to eat the bread that Jaune had spilled onto the ground.

To add insult to injury it actually used one of its wings to throw sand at Jaune, which inadvertently had hit Pikachu as well.

"Okay that's it! Pikachu how about we teach this tiny bird Pokemon a lesson!"said Jaune as Pikachu was mad that his lunch time was interrupted so he nodded his head at his trainer, indicating that he was ready to fight as well.

"Okay Pikachu use thunder shock!"ordered Jaune as Pikachu jumped into the air as his body was surrounded by electricity and he fired a bolt of electricity at Pidgey!

The tiny bird Pokemon was hit with the super effective attack successfully which made it stop eating and face both Jaune and Pikachu with an annoyed look!

With it been clearly provoked the Pidgey began attacking Pikachu with wing attack. Pikachu was struck with the attack successfully as he was sent flying back towards Jaune.

"Pikachu get up and use quick attack."ordered Jaune as Pikachu got up from the floor and surrounded himself with glowing white energy as he struck Pidgey with amazing speed!

Pidgey became disoriented from this attack as Jaune pulled out a PokeBall.

"Finish this off with thunder shock!"ordered Jaune as Pikachu once again surrounded himself with electricity before firing a bolt of lightning at Pidgey!

But just before the attack could make contact with Pidgey, the tiny Bird Pokemon fell to the floor causing the attack to hit something else in the nearby woods. Jaune not wanting to miss this moment decided to ignore that as he focused on capturing Pidgey.

"Go PokeBall!"said Jaune as he tossed the PokeBall towards Pidgey.

The PokeBall struck Pidgey in the head as it bounced off and in midair opened up releasing red energy that surrounded a tiny bird Pokemon. The tiny Bird Pokemon was absorbed by said energy as the energy went back to the PokeBall and it closed shut before it fell to the floor, beginning to wiggle. Jaune held his breath as he knew this was the crucial moment to see if a Pokemon will be successfully captured.

He held his breath tightly as he waited the agonizing seconds it took to figure out if a Pokemon was successfully captured or not! The PokeBall kept wiggling as Pikachu picked up his ketchup bottle and wipe some of the dirt away before continuing to eat the ketchup.

Finally after what felt like grueling minutes the PokeBall stopped wiggling and a click sound was heard, indicating that Pidgey had been successfully captured.

"Yes! I just caught a Pidgey!"said Jaune at the top of his lungs as he picked up and held the PokeBall as high as he could in the air!

His moment of celebration ended quite fast when he heard a large rustling sound coming from the nearby woods that thunder shock struck something in.

"Oh something tells me that is not good."said Jaune as he started to slowly back away as he placed the pokeball that held Pidgey back on his belt.

Sure enough a large swarm of bird like Pokemon that looked entirely different from Pidgey started to pop out of the woods with one of them clearly looking like it had been struck with thunder shock. Jaune pulled out his Pokedex to identify the group of Pokemon that are slowly approaching him.

Pokedex: Spearow, the tiny Bird Pokemon. Unlike Pidgey, Spearow has a terrible attitude. It is very wild and will sometimes attack other Pokemon and humans.

" I'm guessing the one in front is the leader of this flock and Pikachu accidentally attacked said leader."said Jaune as he turned around and picked up Pikachu as he began running at full sprint!

The flock of Spearow meanwhile started flapping their wings and jumped into the air to fly after them! Jaune meanwhile didn't even bother looking back as Pikachu looked on with worry as they were dozens of Spearow flying after them and it was clear that since they both accidentally attacked their leader that they wouldn't let them get away unpunished!

"I just need to find a place to hide!...But that won't be easy since we are in a grassland!"said Jaune as he knew there was not many places one could hide in a grassland!

Soon some of the Spearow began closing in and began pecking at both Jaune and Pikachu with peck attack as they began striking at every possible place they can, attacking both trainer and Pokemon! Jaune, caring more about Pikachu's safety over his own began using his body as a shield as he began taking any attack the Spearow were using against Pikachu by using his arms as best he could to shield Pikachu's body.

Pikachu meanwhile looked at his trainer absolutely stunned. All his time with Professor Oak he has been returned by multiple aspiring trainers multiple times because of his bad attitude. But when he first met Jaune, there was just something different about him.

Pikachu wasn't too sure about it himself but for some reason he felt like he was destined to accompany Jaune. He wasn't like the other trainers as he didn't have an entitled ego and he also wasn't a fumbling idiot. Jaune was different from all those other trainers and it was clearly being shown here as he clearly prioritize Pikachu's own safety over his own!

Jaune meanwhile was just grunting with pain as he could feel the Spearow pecking into any part of his body as his clothes began tearing up from the amount of pressure the flock of tiny Bird Pokemon were delivering to him! Jaune could feel the Spearow picking at the exposed parts of his skin as he it is best to ignore the pain as he continued running.

As Jaune continued running storm clouds started to form out of nowhere as the sky was filling with clouds. Soon the once clear sky became filled with so many clouds that started to turn dark and before anyone knew anything that was happening it began pouring...hard!

Jaune meanwhile continued trying to run despite the fact he was getting extremely soaked and the Spearow still didn't stop pursuing him. The head Spearow, who had a noticeable scar over it's left eye quickly closed in and struck Jaune in the back with wing attack.

"Urgh!"said Jaune as he could tell that that attack was from the leader since it was stronger than the others but he continued running as he needed to get Pikachu to safety.

Pikachu meanwhile just continued to worry about his trainer as he could tell that Jaune was extremely injured, and as Jaune took another step he slipped onto the mud and fell to the floor! But even then Jaune did not stop as he continued to use his body as a shield for Pikachu as the Spearow flock surrounded him and continued pecking at him.

Pikachu, having had enough seeing his trainer getting injured squeezed out of Jaune's arms as he took some of the attacks as the Spearow began to close in on him!

"Pikachu come back! I can take it!"yelled Jaune but the mouse Pokemon had enough of seeing his trainer get hurt for his sake so he decided to instead take on the attacks and strike back.

The leader of the Spearow meanwhile flew high in the air as he was planning to use an attack but before it could do anything a large bolt of lightning had struck Pikachu!

Felling the extra electricity surging through its body Pikachu decided to fight back by releasing the most powerful thunderbolt it could produce! The Spearow who had struck Jaune and Pikachu before started getting shocked by the super effective electric type attack as many in the back started flying away while others while injured did their best to fly away as well!

The leader of the Spearow, more stubborn than his flock decided to go after Pikachu but as he made contact with the mouse Pokemon he was hit by the thunderbolt attack and fell to the floor.

Pikachu meanwhile released every amount of extra electricity it had on its body before it stopped attacking and fell back on his back to catch its breath.

Jaune meanwhile got up to see if Pikachu was all right. Both trainer and Pokemon were covered in scratches as the storm started to let up as Jaune picked up Pikachu to see if he was okay.

"You okay Pikachu?"asked Jaune as Pikachu gave him a thumbs up.

"Pika pika..."said the mouse Pokemon who was clearly exhausted but otherwise okay.

Meanwhile Jaune noticed the knocked out leader of the Spearow lying next to them, and although tired and injured decided not to miss the opportunity as he placed a PokeBall next to the Spearow's head and successfully absorbed the tiny Bird Pokemon into said PokeBall.

The PokeBall wiggled in his hands for a few seconds before a click sound was heard, indicating that the Spearow was successfully captured.

"I... could tell from that attack you did on my back that you're strong. I don't know if we will ever become good friends but I definitely going to hold on to you for a while."said Jaune as he fell back onto the floor as he was injured, wet, and more than anything tired.

As Jaune and Pikachu were trying to catch their breath they notice something unexpected in the sky. There hundreds of feet above them was a beautiful giant glowing rainbow colored bird that let out a majestic cry as it soared into the sky with what looked like sparkles falling off its wings.

"Who's that Pokemon."said Jaune who pulled out his Pokedex to try to identify the Pokemon but the Pokedex said that it was too far away to identify.

"Dang.."said Jaune before he noticed that the Pokemon in question looked at him for a moment and before he could do anything else a beautiful rainbow colored feather fell off the creature and it gently fell on Jaune's nose.

Jaune picked up the feather and was amazed by how beautiful it was as he looked into the sky with Pikachu as they saw the Pokemon disappear into the distance.

"Wow..."said Jaune is he could have sworn that was one of the most beautiful things he has ever seen in his life.

"Okay... let's get out of here everyone... I need to get all of you to a Pokemon center."said Jaune as he picked up Pikachu and placed the pokeball containing Spearow on his belt as he continued walking towards Viridian City, with the intention of getting his Pokemon to a Pokemon center.

Just then a woman in a police uniform, riding a police motorcycle stopped in front of him.

"Young man are you okay? Is that Pikachu okay?!"asked the female officer as it was clear to her that both Jaune and Pikachu were injured.

"We accidentally angered this flock of Spearow who started attacking us relentlessly and wouldn't give up until Pikachu fought back."said Jaune as he saw no reason to lie, especially to a police officer.

"Oh not again! I swear those Spearow have been a pain in my neck as they have attacked every Pokemon trainer crossing through this route multiple times and we still haven't found a way to deal with them."said the female officer as this was not the first time a trainer who's crossed her path has been attacked by those Spearow.

"I don't think you'll be seeing much more of them for a while... especially considering the fact that I just captured their leader."said Jaune as he held the pokeball that was containing Spearow.

"My goodness are you talking about that Spearow with a scar over its left eye."said the female officer as Jaune nodded his head to confirm it.

"Well with their leader successfully captured I think those Spearow will finally decide to leave this area, which will mean a lot less paperwork for me..."said the female officer who sounded quite relieved when she said she would have to deal with less paperwork.

"Kid if you're going in this direction you're most likely heading to Viridian City. Hop aboard my sidecar l, I'll get you there as it's the least I can do, especially as thanks to you I think a lot of trainers will be safe now passing through here."said the female officer as Jaune gladly accepted the offer.

"Thank you Officer...?"

"Jenny, you can call me Officer Jenny. Now hop on kid and let's get you and your Pokemon some medical attention."said Officer Jenny as Jaune climbed into her sidecar and she quickly began driving back to Viridian City.

Jaune in Pikachu meanwhile looked relieved as they looked back at the direction where the beautiful rainbow colored Pokemon flew too and wondered if they would ever see that Pokemon again.

[After a harrowing experience on his first day as an official Pokemon trainer, Jaune Arc manages to walk away not only with two new Pokemon to his team, but also a memorable experience that he will never forget for the rest of his life. What awaits Jaune as he is driven to Viridian City? Only time will tell as the journey continues]
