[Viridian City Pokemon Center]
Jaune Arc was in his room that the Pokemon center provided him for the night as he was currently giving Pikachu, Pidgey, and Spearow there Pokemon food as he figured they might be hungry as it has been a long day for all of them, especially Pikachu and himself.
Pikachu for some reason insisted that ketchup be poured over his Pokemon food and wouldn't take no for an answer...?
"I sure hope this is healthy for you little guy as it won't be all the time."said Jaune, although Pikachu was ignoring him as it was too busy enjoying its Pokemon food slathered with ketchup.
Pidgey and Spearow meanwhile we're quietly eating their Pokemon food as Jaune turned his attention towards them.
"Look I know this is only the first day we met and you probably weren't expecting to be captured, but from this day forth I'm your trainer so let's try to get along okay."said Jaune as Pidgey quickly accepted him while Spearow still had an annoyed expression on his face.
"I guess I can understand why you won't warm up to me."said Jaune with a bed of sweat falling down his face.
Spearow, up until a few hours ago was the leader of a large flock. Now he was just the Pokemon of a trainer he was attacking earlier so it was understandable why he seemed to be so displeased with everything that I just happened to him as who wouldn't be?
"Look Spearow I know you aren't happy with what happened to you, but let's be clear I'm not releasing you as I don't want you returning to your flocking causing trouble again for trainers who frankly don't deserve it. I admit me and Pikachu screwed up bad with you by accidentally attacking you but from what Officer Jenny told me you have been attacking trainers out of nowhere for no good reason."said Jaune as Spearow look like he began pouting.
'No good...' thought Jaune, who knew it was going to be a long road ahead before he could get through to Spearow.
Spearow meanwhile was upset that some trainer who look like he barely started out his journey actually captured him. He always wanted some top notch trainer to capture him as he always believed himself To Be a cut above the rest as he was the one who defeated the previous leader of the flock in battle, so it was only natural for him to be the Pokemon of some elite trainer. But to be caught by a trainer who look like he was barely starting out his journey, to Spearow this was the ultimate insult to his pride.
"Oh well...we can always try tomorrow..."said Jaune as he knew it was going to be a long road of head before he could gain Spearow's trust.
For now he was tired and wanted nothing more than to get some sleep as he had a big day tomorrow, as tomorrow he sets out for a Viridian Forest on his journey to get to Pewter City, face the Pewter City gym leader to earn a gym badge and take the first step towards the Indigo League.
But for now he had a comfortable date with his bed and some sleep. So after everyone finished eating he turned off the lights, got under his covers, latest head on the pillow and immediately went to sleep. Pikachu and Pidgey immediately jumped on the bed and quickly began going to dream land as Spearow reluctantly decided to sleep next to the bed as he was also tired after a long day, but he didn't want to accept Jaune like Pidgey did.
Unknown to them, or anyone in the Pokemon center for that matter, something big was going on the outside as multiple individuals wearing matching uniforms seem to surround the Pokemon center.
Meanwhile a woman with long yellow hair next to a man with short green hair smirk as they watched everything from the sidelines.

[Three hours later]
BOOM..!
Jaune and his Pokemon were working up from their sleep from the sound of an explosion! He immediately put on his clothes and ran out with Pikachu, Pidgey, and reluctantly Spearow in tow.
"What was that?!"
"That was an explosion!"
"But where did that explosion come from?!"
"Who cares! Are my beloved Pokemon okay?!"
Those were just some of the conversation that trainers who we're staying at the Pokemon center for the night we're having as they came out of the room to see what was going on. Jaune heard them talking but his priorities shifted elsewhere as his Huntsman in training instincts kicked in and he immediately decided to go where the explosion was loudest.
As soon as he arrived into the main floor he saw multiple men and women dressed head to toe in black clothes, long white gloves, long white boots, black newsboy caps, and a distinctive Big Red R on their chest moving around and putting Pokemon and bags with nets and catch poles.
And based on the way they were treating the Pokemon it was clear they were not good people.
"Come to n get in there."said one of the thugs as he was about to put a Oddish into a bag.
"Pikachu tackle!"ordered Jaune as Pikachu immediately tackle the thug away from the Oddish, getting the attention of the others.
"You must have a death wish for getting in the way of Team Rocket kid!"said on of the thugs.
"Yeah don't you see you're clearly outnumbered!"said a female Team Rocket grunt as she pulled out a PokeBall.
"Yeah but..."said Jaune as multiple other trainers who were woken up from the commotion immediately arrived with their Pokemon."I'm not alone."
"Damn! I thought Butch and Cassidy said they weren't a lot of trainers here!"said one of the grunts as they had clearly got misinformation.
"Who cares! Lets just put these Pokemon in bags and get out of here!"said when the grunts before his face was hit by water.
"Want the?"began Jaune before a familiar voice could be heard from the crowd.
"Well well Jauney I didn't expect to see you here of all places."said a young man with spiky brown hair.
He was wearing a long sleeve purple shirt, dark blue pants, and black running shoes. Jaune immediately recognized him as Gary Oak, Professor Oak's grandson.
"Gary?"asked Jaune before remembering that Gary was one of the trainers who started out a few hours earlier before he did.
"Now normally I wouldn't care one bit about what these punks are doing. But some of my Pokemon were resting for the night and they're now in those thugs is bags. So I'll give you the honor of helping me get my Pokemon back."said Gary with his usual cocky attitude.
"Whatever Gary."said Jaune as he rolled his eyes as the other trainers started wrestling their Pokemon away from the Team Rocket grunts.
"Oddish tackle!"
"Bellsprout razor leaf!"
"Nidoran horn attack!"
Many of the grunts struck by those attacks ended up dropping their bags, allowing the Pokemon to return to their trainers so they could join in the fray.
"Dammit they're grouping! Quick call out your Pokemon so we can get them back."yelled one of the Team Rocket grunts as a bunch of them were calling out their Pokemon.
Jaune pulled out his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon Team Rocket was using.
Pokedex: Zubat, the bat Pokemon. Emits ultrasonic cries while it flies. They act as a sonar used to check for objects in its way.
Pokedex: Rattata, the mouse Pokemon. Its whiskers provided with a keen sense of smell, enabling it the scent of hidden food and locate it instantly.
" This isn't good! Everyone make sure none of these guys get away until the police arrive!"said Jaune, as he was sure that the moment that the explosion occurred the police were immediately informed and are on their way.
Soon two figures appeared out of the Team Rocket group who were dressed differently from the others, Jaune made an educated guess and guess they were the ones in charge.
"Biff, Cassidy you told us that there weren't that many trainers here!"said one of the Team Rocket grunts to which the green haired male seem to get offended.
"I told you already it's Butch, BUTCH!"said Butch, who was offended that people got his name wrong as even members of the same organization got the name wrong at times!
"I'm guessing you're the ones leading these idiots."said Jaune as Butch and Cassidy turned towards him.
"Yeah that's right kid. They may be idiots but they're useful none the less."said Cassidy as Jaune noticed by her confident expression that something was off.
'That grunt said that Butch and Cassidy didn't do their jobs properly but then why are they so calm well the others are freaking out. Something is not right here as there's no way anyone asks that come and composed when they majorly screwed up.' thought Jaune, who had a bad feeling there was more to the story then even the ones on their side knew about.
But before he could dwell more into his theory he noticed that Cassidy pulled out of pokeball.
"Raticate I need you!"said Cassidy as threw her PokeBall into the air, causing it to open up and release the Pokemon inside.
Jaune noticed that it was a Pokemon that had a striking resemblance to Rattata, so he pulled out his Pokedex just to be sure.
Pokedex: Raticate, the mouse Pokemon, and the evolved form of Rattata. It's hind feet are webbed. They act as flippers, so it can swim in rivers and hunt for prey.
"Well we're really busy kid so- Raticate use super fang!"ordered Cassidy as Raticate charged towards Jaune with great speeds, closing the distance in seconds!
"Pikachu quick attack!"ordered Jaune as Pikachu intercepted Raticate, sending the mouse pokémon bad but although it appeared to take very little damage.
"Huh so the kid has fight in him. Raticate use double team!"ordered Cassidy has suddenly multiple Raticate appeared out of the regular Raticate, confusing Jaune and Pikachu.
'I can't tell which is the real one!' thought Jaune as all of them look like they had a blur and he couldn't tell as they began moving.
It was like that game of cups to find out where the ball was.
"Raticate use super fang!"ordered Cassidy as the multiple Raticate disappeared and the real one attacked Pikachu, causing damage to Pikachu as he was sent back to Jaune's arms!
"Pikachu are you okay?"asked Jaune as Pikachu gave him a thumbs up.
"You're out of your league kid! Raticate use super fang!"ordered Cassidy as the mouse Pokemon charge towards Jaune and Pikachu.
Jaune moved his body in front of Pikachu so he would take most of the damage but before Raticate could even strike him it was struck with wing attack, courtesy of Spearow.
"Spearow?"said Jaune, as he didn't understand why the tiny Bird Pokemon protected him.
Spearow meanwhile looked back at Jaune. It was clear to the tiny Bird Pokemon that his new trainer had a good head on his shoulders as this is the second time he has seen placing Pikachu's safety over his own. While still wishing he was caught by a more experienced trainer Spearow decided to give Jaune the benefit of the doubt as at least he cared about his Pokemon.
"I see..."said Jaune, who somehow knew what Spearow was thinking.
Raticate you know I was getting up from the floor as he glared at the Pokemon who had struck him as Pikachu jumped out of Jaune's arms and joined Spearow, both of them ready to take on the mouse pokémon.
"Dang brat!"said Butch who was about to pull out his Pokemon to join The fray when Cassidy stopped him by putting her hand in front of him.
"We got what we need. And I can hear sirens so the police will be here in a few minutes. Let's just get out of here and report to the boss."said Cassidy to Butch as she recalled Raticate.
"Sorry kid, I would really like to teach you a lesson but we have places to be and orders to fulfill."said Butch as he threw a smoke bomb into the ground!
"Get back here Bill!"said Jaune as the smoke was enveloping him.
"It's BUTCH!"said Butch before the smoke cleared and revealed that every member of Team Rocket was gone.
"Dang!"said Jaune as the police cars arrived at the scene.
"Nice going Jauney boy. At least I managed to subdue the guys I was fighting."said Gary has he placed his foot on top of several Team Rocket grunts.
"Not now Gary...!"said Jaune as he clenched his fists tightly as he couldn't believe he let those bad people get away.
He wasn't strong enough, Pikachu wasn't strong enough. Pidgey meanwhile was releasing its fellow tiny bird out of the nets as he noticed that his trainer was enraged.
'So many innocent Pokemon will get hurt because I let those two get away! Mark my words Butch and Cassidy, I will defeat you one day and make sure you pay for all of your crimes!' thought Jaune as Pidgey and Spearow landed on his shoulders, with Pikachu jumping in his arms.
"Well... at least a small victory is that none of the Pokemon they were trying to steal got stolen. But I wonder what they were really here anyway."said Jaune as he had a feeling that the whole Pokemon heist was just a distraction for why Team Rocket was really there.
[Unknown Hideout]
Butch and Cassidy walk into a dimly lit office where a man in an orange suit petting a Persian was waiting for them.
"Did you succed?"asked the man with a clear sense of authority.
"The pokémon heist was a bust and some of our guys got arrested but otherwise the real mission was a success."said Butch as he tossed a disc onto the desk.
The mysterious man smiled as he picked up the disc.
"Excellent. Now we have a back door into the Pokemon League. And with this information on this disc I will finally achieve where others have failed, I will control the legends!"said the man ominously as he turned his desk around to view the night sky through his large window.
Butch and Cassidy just smiled as they knew that the boss had big plans, and thanks for the success of their mission those plans would soon come into fruition!
[After a harrowing ordeal at the Pokemon center in Viridian City, Jaune Arc learned of the mysterious group known only as Team Rocket and suspects that their goals go beyond simple Pokemon theft. What does this group have planned? Only time will tell as the journey continues]
