[Viridian City: Kanto Region]
Early morning arose in Viridian City as construction workers came to the Pokemon Center to begin the repairs to the facility after the damage done by Team Rocket. Electricians, Welders, Carpenters, IT tech support, Safety Engineers, Insulation Contractors, and a Foreman along with several Machoke and Machop were all present as Nurse Joy was finishing filling out the remaining paperwork in order to ensure that the workers and Pokemon were compensated by the Pokemon League accordingly in order to repair the damage.
Jaune meanwhile woke up in his room and called out each of his Pokemon as he began pouring Pokemon food into their bowls. Pikachu, Pidgey, and Spearow began eating as Jaune poured himself a bowl of cereal where a Pikachu was the mascot on the cereal box.
As Jaune as munching his cereal mixed with moo moo milk, he couldn't help wonder what exactly did Team Rocket really wanted to steal?
'They left so many of their fellow team members to get arrested and they didn't even care. People like that don't just give up...now that I think about it those two didn't appear until a few minutes later. Maybe there was something here that they specifically wanted to steal in the attempted robbery was only a diversion.' thought Jaune as he knows for a fact that most of the Team Rocket grunts arrested were low level foot soldiers.
Butch and Cassidy, the ringleaders escaped but even after they betrayed them, from what he saw last night the grunts weren't talking. Not a single member of Team Rocket who was arrested was cooperating with the police. They were either keeping completely silent during interrogation or just kept boasting on how Team Rocket was going to take over Kanto!
'Just how do they plan to do that? And even getting stabbed in the back like that I'm surprised they're so loyal. Whoever the head honchos are there they must be either extremely feared by their subordinates or are extremely respected.
Either way none of them are going to talk.' thought Jaune as he finished his cereal and drank the bowl of milk down his throat.
"Ahhh... I don't know what creature produces this milk but it's extremely creamy."said Jaune as this was by far the best milk he has ever had.
About the same time his Pokemon had finished their meals. Jaune recalled them all to their PokeBalls except Pikachu for obvious reasons as he packed up his things has he was ready to head off to Viridian Forest to begin the journey to Pewter City.
As Jaune was walking through the lobby of the Pokemon center he saw Nurse Joy talking with the Foreman as the construction workers along with their Pokemon got to work repairing all the damage Team Rocket had done. The electricians were carefully repairing the wires as the carpenters, insulation contractors, along with several Machoke were preparing the insulation, wood, and drywall they were going to use to repair the walls.
The IT people were meanwhile checking to see if any of the database was messed with by Team Rocket as the safety engineers were checking for any potential hazards like any wall then might have also been affected by the explosion besides the obvious.
As for the welders they were fixing up the plumbing by adding new pipes that were destroyed by the explosion.
"I better just leave as they have a lot of work to do."said Jaune as he could clearly see part of the Pokemon center had been isolated with police tape that would probably not be removed until repairs were complete!
Jaune knew he already did everything he needed to do so he just walked out of the Pokemon center with Pikachu riding on left his shoulder as he began heading north of the city in order to get to Viridian Forest!
"I'm so glad Officer Jenny only took my statement. Luckily in this world self defense is a thing and not some world where using your power, even in self defense is illegal. Now from the map in the Pokemon center it indicates that the nearest gym after Pewter City is in Cerulean City, whick is just past Mount Moon...it would take to long to climb Mout Moon, add the fact I don't have climbing equipment and I don't know how to climb mountains...I think it's better if I went through it."said Jaune which was easier said than done as Mount Moon was like a maze, so it was not unheard of for trainers to get lost on their way to Cerulean City.
But Mount Moon was the fastest way to Cerulean City is going any other direction would take a lot longer and there was a deadline to acquiring eight gym badges for the Indigo League, meaning Jaune had no choice but to go through Mount Moon in order to get the Cerulean City quicker.
"Now from the symbol I saw next to the Pewter City gym on the map I'm guessing the gym leader specializes with rock type Pokemon...not good."said Jaune as most rock type Pokemon found in Kanto were also part ground type.
Meaning if you was to use Pikachu, he would be a great disadvantage as electric type moves do not work on ground type Pokemon whatsoever!
"I should capture myself a water type, a grass type, and ice type, or a fighting type. The last two options are not going to work as ice type Pokemon are not found where I am currently at, and all fighting type Pokemon native to Kanto are extremely rare and are usually found in cave systems where they're practicing their moves...so no luck there."said Jaune to himself as he realized his only option is right now where water type Pokemon or grass type Pokemon.
"I know a lot of water type Pokemon also ice type Pokemon, but unfortunately they live up to their name and like to live close to bodies of water, none of which are anywhere near this area. I'd better go with a grass type Pokemon is that's probably my best option...now I just need to find one.."said Jaune, who luckily had two flying type Pokemon with them.
So now not only did he have two eyes in the sky, but he also had two Pokemon with a distinct type advantage over grass type Pokemon!
"Okay I better do my best to find a grass type Pokemon."said Jaune to himself as he stood at the entrance that led into Viridian Forest, a large facility that acted as a gateway from Viridian City to Viridian Forest.
"They must have put these here so trainers were less likely to get lost. I had better be careful as I don't want to accidentally end up going in circles. There's a time limit to get to the Indigo League so I'd better not screw up."said Jaune to himself as he did not want to repeat how that he was with directions during initiation.
"Best not think about that and keep walking ahead."Jaune said to himself as he had no reason to think on those thoughts, they bring nothing up but bad memories at this point.
"Pika Chu?"said Pikachu as he noticed that something was bothering his trainer.
"I'm find Pikachu, just remembering something that seems like a lifetime ago."
So after taking some breaths to study his nerves, Jaune took the first step into the facility as to made his way into Viridian Forest!

[twenty two minutes later]
"Okay I'm lost!"said Jaune in realization as he was sure me made a wrong turn somewhere in he last five minutes.
"Now on Remnant did I get lost?! I've only been. walking for twenty minutes at most! Ah it doesn't help that all the trees look the same and they're so close together that hardly any sunlight gets through!"said Jaune as Viridian Forest is nothing like Emerald Forest!
Unlike the forest back home, Viridian Forest is a lot denser and the trees are not only the same species, but practically the same size and width! Meaning there was no way to be sure that one hasn't gone in circles as the landscape is very confusing to say the least."I'm pretty sure I've past this rock at least five times."said Jaune as he was sitting on the large rock in question as he was planning out his next move.
"Maybe I should send Pidgey or Spearow into the sky? No...with these dense trees they might get lost themselves when they come back looking for me."said Jaune as he heard some rustling in some nearby bushes.
Curious to see what was making all that noise he went over to the bushes to see what look like a yellow caterpillar with a horn on its head beginning to act strangely.
Jaune pulled out his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon in front of him.
Pokedex: Weedle, the hairy bug Pokemon. Beware of the sharp stinger on its head. It hides in grass and brushes where it eats leaves.
'This one is bigger than the one on the Pokedex.' thought Jaune as the Weedle in front of his was bigger.
"Okay then it lives in bushes and eats leaves, so why is it acting like that?"said Jaune as noticed the large Weedle climbing a tree branch and begin producing a silk of string as it begin dangling itself from a branch before the hairy bug Pokemon begin glowing.
"It's evolving!"realized Jaune as he read that when Pokemon reach a certain level, in most cases they begin to evolve!q
Weedle glowed at it changed in shape and size! Soon the Weedle grew bigger and fatter as its shape turned completely different as the glowing stopped and some kind of yellow cocoon with dark eyes was where Weedle once dangled.
Jaune looked at his Pokedex again to identify the Pokemon now in front of him.
Pokedex: Kakuna, the cocoon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Weedle. Able to move only slightly. When endangered, it may stick out its stinger and poison its enemy.
"Well as dad use to say, Never look a gift horse in the mouth."saud Jaune as he tossed a Pokeball at Kakuna.
The cocoon Pokemon saw the Pokeball coming but could do nothing as the Pokeball bounced off its shell and it was absorbed. Soon the PokeBall fell to the floor as Jaune walked over to get the Pokeball as it began wiggling.
Soon a click sound was heard as the ball stopped wiggling, indicating that Kakuna was successfully captured.
"A little anticlimactic but I just caught a Kakuna!"said Jaune with joy, but his joy was short lived as he heard... buzzing...a lot of buzzing...!
Jaune could feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as a slowly turned his head around to see a bunch of angry red eyes staring back at him...!
Jaune turned around slowly to see a whole bunch of giant bee like Pokemon with what look like javelins for arms starring back at him, and it was clear they were not happy!
Jaune felt nervousness and fear as he managed to get enough nerve to pull out his Pokedex to identify the swarm of angry Pokemon just a few feet away from him!
Pokedex: Beedrill, the poison bee Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Weedle. It has three poisonous stingers on its forelegs and its tail. They are used to jab its opponent repeatedly.
"Okay... I don't think that's good for me cuz I'm pretty sure Aura does not protect you against poison... fortunately I have a strategy that has allowed humans to survive time and time again throughout the ages...RUN AWAY!"said Jaune as he did the next logical thing he could think of, he ran like his life depended on it with Pikachu hanging on to his shoulder with all of his might!
The Beedrill were caught off guard by this at first, before they quickly realized what had just happened and began their pursuit for the aspiring trainer and his Pikachu!
'I must have accidentally stumbled into their nest! No wonder they're pissed as not only did I invade their territory, but I took one of their own not long after Weedle evolved into Kakuna! Plus side, I got a future Beedrill. Down side is that if I don't escape I'm going to be repeatedly jabbed with a whole bunch of poison!' thought Jaune as he needed to think of some way to get away from the swarm, otherwise Pikachu and himself would be stung with a lot of poison!
Fortunately Jaune had remembered his time in kindergarten, where his teacher had told him repeatedly what to do in case he ever encountered a swarm of angry bees! He wasn't sure if they same applies to Beedrill, but heck at this point he is willing to try anything!
"Okay bees tend to attack any living organism and cannot tell humans apart, also based on their wings I'm assuming they can't get them wet..meaning."said Jaune as he ducked into a nearby small pond that luckily was deep enough to submerge his whole body and Pikachu's body as the swarm just stop momentarily and began floating around trying to find them.
Jaune held his breath under the water with Pikachu wrapped around his arms as some Beedrill noticed that he was in the water but upon seeing that he was in the water and not wanting to get their wings wet, the angry Beedrill just appeared to huff as they flew away.
Jaune, upon seeing that the swarm was gone stuck himself and Pikachu's heads out of the water so they could breathe.
"Uwaahh... luckily for me bees will give up the chase pretty quickly if their target disappears as they can't leave the hive, or in this case their territory for too long as it could be invaded by Invaders."said Jaune as he stepped out of the water and realized that he needed to dry off his clothes before he continued, otherwise he would get sick.
Pikachu wasn't as affected as he just started shaking rapidly until all the water left his fur.
"Now where exactly am I going to find a safe place to drive my clothes?"Jaune asked himself as Pikachu tugged at his pants and motion for him to follow him.
Jaune did so and within five minutes both had reached a bunch of cabins with the sign that said resting station printed in big, bold letters in the front.
'They must have put these here as a rest stop for trainers who are passing through the forest.' thought Jaune as he he noticed several trainers stepping out of the cabin and seemingly doing small talk as he walked onto the grounds
"Ran into some Beedrill?"asked a trainer as the other trainers noticed wet Jaune walking into the rest stop.
"Yup..."said Jaune as he guess that he wasn't the first trainer to have been chased by that swarm.
"Be careful as Beedrill tend to hold grudges. You can dry your clothes at the main cabin that has a washing machine and dryer."said a female trainer as Jaune was so glad that Pikachu found this place.
"Pika pika."said Pikachu as his stomach started growling.
"After I change into some dry clothes and put these clothes to wash, we can get something to eat."said Jaune as Pikachu was content by that as he jumped on his trainer shoulder as they entered the main cabin.
"I think I'll stay the night as I've had enough adventure for the day..."said Jaune as he wanted some rest as he was sure that that swarm is still angry with him.
As he signed in in the main cabin he quickly made his way to the washing machine and took off his wet clothes and threw them into the dryer.
Fortunately for him Miss Delia had packed in several varieties of the same clothes, so he had something to change into as he went into a nearby bathroom to take a shower and dry himself off so he wouldn't get sick. Soon he put on his dry set of clothes as his wet ones finished washing and he put them into the dryer.
"Now let's get something to eat."said Jaune as luckily the main cabin had a cafeteria.
"Ran into that pesky swarm of Beedrill huh?"asked the front desk clerk as Jaune and Pikachu passed the front desk
"I'm assuming I'm not the first one to have been attacked by that swarm?"inquired Jaune as the front desk clerk nodded his head.
"Yup! There a real problem but there's hardly anything the Pokemon League can do about it as Weedle consider Viridian Forest their main habits out here in Kanto. Weedle eventually become Beedrill, and there's so many of them so no matter how many we catch there will always be others to take their place."said the front desk clerk as there was no long-term solution.
Jaune rolled his eyes as he knew that there was no real solution to this problem, trainers will just have to live with it if they wanted to pass through Vridian Forest.
"Just try to be careful out there. And if you do happen to run into that swarm just look for tree with a red box connected to it. The Pokemon League has place many throughout the forest that contain smoke bombs that, while harmless to you and Pokemon will allow you to escape if you ever run into Beedrill, and in the case you get stung by their poison there's also antidote in those boxes that will neutralize that poison."said the front desk clerk as Jaune made a mental note of that as he knew he was only halfway through the forest.
Meaning he still had a long way to go before he could reach Pewter City!
"Hey while I'm here what can you tell me about the gym leader of Pewter City?"asked Jaune as anything about the gym leader could give him an advantage.
"Brock? Well there's nothing to say other than that he specializes with rock type Pokemon. He fights with a head on approach and is not afraid to throw down, especially if he gets serious. Now don't just assume that if you catch a grass type pokémon or a water type Pokemon that you will automatically win against him. Gym leaders have come up with strategies or have taught their Pokemon moves to counter their weaknesses."said the front desk clerk but before Jaune could get any more information Pikachu tugged on his pants again.
"I'm coming, I'm coming since I'm hungry too."said Jaune as it was clear to him that his partner wasn't the patient type as Pikachu kept pulling out his patent leg even when Jaune was following him to the cafeteria.
"What an interesting Pikachu."
"I know."said Jaune has he made his way to the vending machines that acted as the cafeterias food.
He bought some sandwiches for himself, along with several veggie sandwiches for his Pokemon as he sat down at an empty table and called out his Pokemon before they began eating, except for his newly acquired Kakuna as it currently did not have a mouth.
Jaune love the taste of the sandwiches as he noticed that Pikachu, unsurprisingly put ketchup on his sandwich before he began chowing down.
Jaune just chuckled as Pidgey and Spearow rolled their eyes before they continued pecking up there sandwiches.
Soon the sky turned dark as Jaune was given a room key for one of the cabins by the front desk clerk. As he entered his cabin, Jaune immediately made a beeline for his bed and quickly jumped into the bed as his Pokemon took positions in the cabin where they thought it would be comfortable to sleep.
Kakuna didn't appear to be doing anything as Jaune picked him up and put him in his bed.
"You will be staying close to me as I know during this stage you can really do much. Better keep you safe until you evolve into a Beedrill."said Jaune as Kakuna appeared to be surprised by this.
Jaune didn't notice as he was tired and quickly went to sleep with Kakuna lying next to him as Pikachu curled into a ball on Jaune's belly as everyone got comfortable and went to sleep.
Kakuna meanwhile kept staring at his new trainer with a look of shock before he grew tired and eventually decided to get some sleep as well.
[After a harrowing experience in Viridian Forest, Jaune Arc makes it to the halfway mark after a closing counter with some angry Beedrill! Will Jaune be able to make it to Pewter City in one piece? Will Kakuna accept Jaune? Only time will tell as the journey continues]
