[Viridian Forest Rest Station]
Jaune awoke from slumber to see Pikachu, Pidgey, Spearow, and Kakuna sound asleep all around the room. Jaune looked around and remember that he was currently at the rest station in Viridian Forest that acted as the halfway mark between Viridian City and Pewter City.
"Okay if I keep going in a straight line north, I should reach Pewter City by nightfall... hopefully I don't run into any more Beedrill..."said Jaune as he didn't want to get stung as he was pretty sure Aura didn't protect anyone against poison...
"Okay...time to head out."said Jaune as he began packing up his things, starting with his backpack.
Luckily for him the rest station had good staff as they brought over his dry clothes and hanged it at the door of his room last night while he was asleep. Jaune smell the clothes and enjoyed the smell as it was clear that they were washed and dried quite well as he placed them neatly in his backpack.
Next Jaune pulled out three bowls and put them next to a feeding station filled with Pokemon food. After putting in a few pokey dollars into the system, the Pokemon food flowed into the bowls until they were full!
As soon as the smell of Pokemon food hit their noses Pikachu, Pidgey, and Spearow began making their way to where the Pokemon food wasn't immediately stood at separate bowls and began eating!
"Can exactly have you guys running around on an empty stomach."said Jaune as keeping your Pokemon properly fed is one of the must know hows of becoming a Pokemon trainer.
"I would normally want a good meal but I want to get to Pewter City as soon as possible...so eat as fast as you can fellas but don't eat too fast or you going to choke on your food. I'm not rushing you guys I'm just saying we're on a schedule."said Jaune but it was clear to him that his Pokemon weren't listening as they were too busy stuffing their faces with food.
"It's like watching Ruby eater cookies or when Nora stuffing her face with pancakes...haa... I wonder how them and the others are doing..."Jaune said to himself before he shook the thought away, better not reminisce on the past as he had to move forward in his new life.
About twenty minutes later all Pokemon finished eating and everyone might as Pikachu are placed back in their Pokeballs as Jaune exit the room he was using for the night and headed out to continue his journey to Pewter City!
'Kakuna it's a good addition to have on my team... especially when he becomes a Beedrill... but for my first gym battle that's not going to work.' thought Jaune as a bug / poison type is certainly a good addition to the team, but not in this case as the first gym leader Specializes with rock type Pokemon and bug type Pokemon have a disadvantage.
'I need a grass or water type...!' thought Jaune who honestly did not like his options right now as all of his current Pokemon were at a type of disadvantage against his first gym battle, HIS FIRST GYM BATTLE!
'I need to diversify my team otherwise Brock is going to mop the floor with me in seconds! Or at the very least teach one of my Pokemon a type advantage move!' thought Jaune as he was considering what to do next when suddenly something large jumped in front of him!
"Do not move! For you have entered the domain of Samurai, the greatest bug type trainer of Kanto!"said a young man wearing Samurai armor over his chest, with a samurai headpiece on his head!
"Whoa!"said Jaune as he stumbled back as he never expected some guy wearing old fashioned looking armor to jump in front of him!
"Man you startled me!"said Jaune as he regained his footing.
"Fool! You should have been paying more attention to your surroundings!"said Samurai as Jaune started to see that this guy had a screw loose.
'This guy is nuts... or at the very least has 8th grader syndrome...' thought Jaune as this guy reminds him of an old classmate who wore a bandage eye patch over his eye, a large red scarf, and had his left hand covered in bandages saying he was containing "a great evil" in his left hand...
"Why are you looking at me like that?"asked Samurai as he noticed that Jaune was giving him a look of...pity...
"No reason..."said Jaune as he was looking some way to pass this guy as he did not want to deal with his kind of crazy.
"You know...when two Pokemon trainers eyes meet, it can only mean that they must battle!"said Samurai as he pulled out a Pokeball.
"Well I..."said Jaune who really wasn't in the mood for a battle.
"Ha! I see you are too much of a coward and a sissy to take the great Samurai on!"said Samurai as he began laughing while lifting his head as high as it could.
Jaune immediately change this tune as it was clear that this jerk needed to be taught a lesson!
"Alright then... IT'S ON!"exclaimed Jaune as no one calls him a coward or a sissy!
"Go Metapod!"yelled Samurai as he tossed his pokeball and released a green cocoon like Pokemon onto the battlefield!
Jaune didn't recognize the Pokemon in front of him so he pulled out his Pokedex to identify it.
Pokedex: Metapod, the cacoon Pokemon and the evolved form of Caterpie. Hardens its shell to protect itself. However, a large impact may cause it to pop out of its shell.
"Are you sure you should be using that Pokemon?"asked Jaune as he didn't think that Samurai was making a wise choice.
"Do not mock my Metapod! She is a powerful Metapod who will soon be a powerful Butterfree!"said Samurai as he clearly wasn't listening.
"Okay... Kakuna I choose you!"said Jaune as he called out his cocoon Pokemon for battle.
"Oh my goodness! What a beautiful Kakuna and I noticed it's a big one too! Are we going to have a challenge to see who's cocoon Pokemon is the hardest by using harden!"said Samurai with stars in his eye.
"No... that's just really stupid..."said Jaune as who in the right mind would have a contest by having their Pokemon constantly use harden!
"Oh... Metapod use string shot!"ordered Samurai as Metapod fired a burst of silk at Kakuna.
"Kakuna use poison sting and follow it up with tackle!"ordered Jaune as Kakuna fired multiple tiny needles that intercepted the stringshot before it moved inside itself to slam its shelled body against Metapod, causing damage.
"Metapod you use tackle."ordered Samurai as Metapod tackled Kakuna.
Soon both cocoon Pokemon landed on opposite ends of the field before they began glowing!
"What the?"said both trainers at the same time as the cocoons began to break and pokémon with wings and bug like features started to come out of the shell glowing before they flew into the air as the light dissipated!
Kakuna had evolved into Beedrill!
And Metapod involved into a butterfly like Pokemon that Jaune didn't recognize so he pulled out his Pokedex to identify it.
Pokedex: Butterfree, the butterfly Pokemon. Its wings, covered in poisonous powder, repel water. This allows it to fly in the rain.
"My beautiful Metapod, you have become an even more beautiful Butterfree!"said Samurai who look like he was about to cry tears of joy.
"Beedrill... man you're big."said Jaune as he was impressed with the size of his Beedrill.
"Now... let us continue! Butterfree use gust!"ordered Samurai as Butterfree began flapping its wings releasing tiny / waves of the flying tap move at Beedrill!
"Your Pokemon isn't the only one who learned a new move! Beedrill dodge and use twin needle!"ordered Jaune as video swiftly avoided the gust attack before jamming its lands like forearms and a twin fashion, striking Butterfree with twin needle!
"Butter..."exclaim the butterfly Pokemon as it fell back.
"Tackle!"ordered Jaune as Beedrill struck Butterfree with a powerful tackle attack, sending the butterfly Pokemon to the floor as it was revealed that she was knocked out.
"Butterfree!"yelled Samurai as he picked up the butterfly Pokemon and was relieved to see that she was okay, out cold but otherwise okay.
"Man you're awesome Beedrill."said Jaune who was glad to have Beedrill on his team.
"Now you have done it! You have angered the great Samurai! Now I will use my strongest Pokemon against you!"yelled Samurai is he recalled Butterfree and pulled out another Pokeball.
"Pika pika pi!"said Pikachu as he got Jaune's attention.
"You you want to fight little buddy."said Jaune as Pikachu nodded his head.
"Alright then your up!"said Jaune as he recalled Beedrill and Pikachu took his position on the battlefield.
"Pinsir I choose you."said Samurai is he called out a strange looking bug like Pokemon with huge pincers on its head to the battlefield.
"Who's that Pokemon?"asked Jaune as he pulled out his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon in front of him.
Pokedex: Pinsir, the stag beetle Pokemon. Grips its prey in its pincers and squeezes hard! It can't move if it's cold, so it lives in warm places.
"Looks strong."said Jaune as it was clear that those pincers on Pinsir's head we're going to be a problem.
"He should be since he's the first Pokemon I ever caught!"said Samurai who appeared to be gloating as he placed his hands to his hips and banged on his chest like a gorilla..
"Dude..."said Jaune under his breath as he wondered what was wrong with Samurai, if that even was his real name.
"Let us fight! Pinser use vice grip!"ordered Samurai as the stag beetle Pokemon began charging at Pikachu with its pincers pointing at the mouse Pokemon!
"Pikachu use quick attack to get out of the way!"ordered Jaune as Pikachu became surrounded by white energy and started dashing at high speed as he got out of the way to avoid vice grip!
"Now use thunder shock!"said Jaune as Pikachu jumps into the air and release the small bolt of electricity, striking the stag beetle Pokemon and causing damage!
"Pincer use bug bite!"ordered Samurai as Pinsir's teeth begin growing a white color before he bit Pikachu!
"Pika!"said Pikachu as he tried to get away only for pincer to grab him with his arms!
"Pikachu getaway!"ordered Jaune as Pikachu's eyes open suddenly before he kicked Pinsir wants to get the stag beetle Pokemon to let him go before delivering another kick to the face, sending Pinsir flying!
"Wow... I didn't know your Pikachu knew double kick!"said Samurai as he was surprised Pikachu knew a fighting type move.
"Wow... Pikachu you learned a new move! Awesome that will definitely come in handy when we are facing Brock! But first let's teach this guy with 8th grade syndrome a lesson! Pikachu use double kick!"ordered Jaune as Pikachu charged at the stag beetle pokémon and kicked him two!
"Pincer vice grip!"ordered Samurai as Pinsir tried to close his pincers around Pikachu!
"Grab onto those pincers with your tail and use thunder shock."ordered Jaune.
Pikachu did as he was instructed as he avoided the pincers and placed his tail on Pinsir's left pincer! Pikachu smiled as he used thunder shock point blank on the stag beetle Pokemon! Pinsir felt the full end of the electric type move before Pikachu jumped off him as he fell to the, revealing that the stag beetle Pokemon had been knocked out.
"Pinsir!"said Samurai as he ran over to his Pokemon to see if he was okay.
"Awesome work Pikachu! I am so glad you learned a new move, especially a fighting type move which will really come in handy when we are going to challenge Brock for our first gym battle!"said Jaune who was glad that Pikachu learned a new move as he walked over the Samurai as Pikachu jumped onto his shoulder.
"You we're actually quite tough, you're a bit weird and rough around the edges but it's clear with a bit of training you're going to be a real threat in the Indigo League."said Jaune as Samurai looked at him while wiping away some tears as Pinsir woke up.
"Really?"he asked.
"Heah... no don't get me wrong you're a bit weird but you're an okay guy, just tone it down a notch and train a little more and I'm sure you're going to be a great bug type trainer one day. By the way the name's Jaune and I hope to see you at the Indigo League"said Jaune as Samurai wiped away his tears.
"Yes...yes! I now understand that the universe has sent you here to humble me as I was gaining a bit of an ego. Thank you Jaune for defeating me as you broke my overconfidence that was causing me to lose sight of things and miss things I would not have missed. Now that you have humbled me I will challenge you again for a battle in the future, and this time I will not lose!"said Samurai is he stood up and pointed his finger menacingly at Jaune.
"I'll be waiting."said Jaune as he and Samurai shook hands.
"Now... you wouldn't happen to know how to get to Pewter City?"asked Jaune as he was so focused on the battle he completely forgot his original purpose.
"Sure follow me."said Samurai as he and Pinsir began showing Jaune the way to Pewter City.

[Several hours later]
"Just follow this path and another half hour later it'll take you to the entrance of Pewter City. I hope we meet again at the Indigo League Jaune Arc so you better work hard to collect eight gym badges!"said Samurai is he in Pinsir disappeared into the bush.
"Yeah you two!"said Jaune as he realized he made another interesting rival as he began walking the path to Pewter City once again
[After an interesting battle with a... unique trainer, Jaune's Pikachu now learn the fighting type move that will surely come in handy for his upcoming first gym battle. Will Jaune and Pikachu will be able to take on Brock and his rock type Pokemon! Only time will tell us the journey continues]
