Attention! all claims that I, Arch Magos Belacaruius Cronus, own warhammer 40k or any other Games Wokesh*t IP, while amusing, are blatantly false.
Adrius grimaced as a stray boltshell deflected off of his shoulder and into one of the pitch black walls, it's mass reactive blast not even scratching the strange stone-like structuring as he crouched behind a destroyed pillar...after a moment he vaulted the pillar, crashing into a metal construct before putting a pair of boltshells into its bulbus cranium before moving on to another, its skeletal torso twisting to face him...not giving it a moment to retaliate, he fired into it, goring its chest in a shower of sparks and coolant..
"haold foigha! its ahn astarthes!" Adrius snapped his head to the strange voice...a few squads of what appeared to be imperial army regulars manning a heavy bolter stared back at him in awe as he kicked the now disintegrating metal corpse away from himself before speaking in a low tone "identify yourselves..." one of the men, he now assumed to be a Corporal based on his attire, stepped forward once able before saluting.
"shcwad ahunred ahnd fhour, chadian ehighth rehgement rehportin fhour duhtay, suh!" the man's familiar but definitely foreign accent slightly incensed Adrius...it's form mostly similar to the new official dialect of the imperium but butchered in the way only evolved languages could be...he thought to himself for a moment... 'peculiar and concerning...' "I am Adrius...come, gather anything you can carry and follow me...if there are other friendly forces in the area we need to regroup with them..."
The Corporal took in his words slowly, but after a moment he turned to his squads and bellowed out orders, the 'cadians' as he came to naming them moved about quickly, taking apart and compartmentalizing their heavy bolter into three separate gun bags as the others snatched up strange green and silver rifles and what he assumed was ammo...
The Cadians quickly fell in line with Adrius as he started to move deeper within the strange structure they found themselves in...Adrius grimaced as he moved through the strange halls, his bolter raised as the men covered his rear and sides when applicable...throughout the hall they had came in contact with little resistance, a few small clusters of insectoid automata, a lone warrior android... to Adrius, this smelled like an ambush...
Suddenly, one of the armsmen was struck by a neon green laser, the top of his torso turned to ash as the rest of his corpse tried to sprint, the last neural command through his nervous system running its course as it stumbled into one of his fellow armsmen before collapsing...the rest of the cadians, alongside adrius, dove for cover as more laser shot over their heads...
The imperials stuck their rifles and pistols around cover, unleashing a tidal wave of crimson laser bolts at their ambushers, reducing one to molten slag and forcing the others into cover lest they suffer the same fate...using the lull in enemy fire and the overwhelming force of friendly suppressive fire, Adrius sprinted towards the enemy position...hefting his banner up as a pair of warrior forms arose from cover, he hurtled his banner like javelin, spearing both constructs through the chest and impailing them into the wall before descending into their fellows with his bolter and backup blade...
The spindly constructs fell easily, their Necrodermis no match for the might of a thunder warrior... after a few moments he gave the armsmen the all clear before wrenching his banner from the wall and metal corpses...continuing on their march through the tunnel, the armsmen gasped as they entered a massive cavern, displays of ancient Xenos, imperial, and all together unknown technology set in select spots in suspended animation forming thematic dioramas...depictions of battles, memorials, treaty signatures...
"whot... eais thaes plahce?..." Adrius looked about, his senses telling him to run as the cadians gasped in horror, coming across a cadian diorama... focusing on the legendary man at the center of the frozen formation, his diminutive stature hidden beneath his grimy greatcoat, a cigar stub hanging limply between his barely regulation shaved lips as he aimed a bolt pistol at some unseen enemy..."Ihts...ihts Lhord Castallan Crheed!...whea nhead tuh sahve em fhrom thaes infhernal ployce!"
The Men looked around, hoping to find whatever infernal machine held their beloved commander in stasis as Adrius slowly moved forward...his attention drawn to another diorama entirely... in front of him, warriors not dissimilar to himself but clad in armor painted in his thunder legions livery...they stood shorter than him at eight feet, their weapons as intricate and mastercrafted as their armor...but that was far below his focus...what he focused on was the being at the center of these warriors...this...demi-god stood above him, its artificer armor both as intricate and beautiful as the face of the one wearing it, its face, like the marble statues of the old Europa conclaves, was framed by the most beautiful stark white hair he had seen...being in the presence of this...man...compelled him to serve...but he shook off these feelings, a loud pop and then a host of surprised yelps signaled that the cadians had released their diminutive lord...
