"The world was on fire and no one could save me but you

It's strange what desire will make foolish people do

I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you

And I never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you

No I don't want to fall in love"

Wicked Game - Chris

"Fuck, Bella!" Jasper grabs my arm before I can get too far. "Stop!"

"You can't just leave him there," I yell.

"We don't even know where there is yet?" He throws his hands up in frustration. "You can't go knocking on every mansion in Seattle."

Alice walks out the shop door with a cell phone up to her ear. "Jas," she says, offering it to him.

He gives me a warning look for me not to move before stepping away and taking the phone from her. Alice gives me a warm smile, but there's a hint of concern in her eyes that she's trying to hide.

"Is that…" My voice cracks before I can say his name but Alice just shakes her head to tell me it isn't Edward.

Jasper talks quickly on the phone as my mind continues to race. I begin to pace in front of the shop, feeling like a child standing here like he silently told me to do.

He is right though.

I have no idea where Edward is. Even if I did, getting into the party and not making a scene that could cost his life.

Jasper finishes his phone call and hands the phone back to Alice. They exchange looks then look at me.

"We need to go back inside," Jasper says.

Before I can object, he turns on his heels and walks back inside opening the door for me and Alice to follow him.

I contemplate on just leaving back to the apartment, but I know if there's any possible chance of finding out where Edward is and if he's okay, I will have to stay with Jasper and Alice.

"You need to tell her," Alice says in more than a whisper as she passes by him.

"Tell me what?" Her words heightens my fear that something is going to happen to Edward, or already has.

What if this was a set up? What if Aro is trying to take Edward back or worse?

"Alice." Jasper sighs in defeat, looking down and shaking his head. "Tanya followed Edward to the location, that was her letting us know he just arrived." His words feel slow and heavy as he speaks.

I feel a sense of relief knowing that someone has laid eyes on Edward but I am not exactly thrilled they're Tanya's.

Of course it was always a thought that she was interested in him as more than a friend, but Edward said it wasn't like that. Edward told me he cared for her and even after almost firing her, I only speculated that her feelings were mutual.

Either way, I don't trust her. What if she is setting him up? Why would Tanya think her going after Edward would make me feel better?

"Why?" I ask, confused.

"She thought if she went, you wouldn't try to," he answers.

Is Edward okay with this?

Is Jasper covering for him inviting Tanya as his wing? Is this some ploy to help Tanya again without me knowing? Jasper never wanted us to be together to begin with, should I even trust him?

I feel my thoughts fly off the handle but I don't have the energy to react. I need answers but I am not sure they are going to be the ones I truly want to hear.

I don't know how I would react if I found out this was all some lie to help Tanya. But would Edward really go through these lengths?

I shake my head, fighting dark thoughts out of my head, and take a deep breath.

I don't know what else to do but stay and wait.

I sigh in defeat. "Fine."

Jasper seems more relaxed that I am not putting up too much of a fight but I honestly don't feel like it surprisingly.

I know the only person who can explain to me what is going on is Edward and I am betting on the chance he is with Aro with the rest of the Italian gang in an underground game. Regardless of the many schemes I have come up with in my head, the only way I know he will be safe in the end is if I stay and wait.

"I'm going to go home and wait then. You both are more than welcome to come too."

I'm honestly tired and even though I don't think I would get any sleep, the tattoo shop is not where I want to be when Edward finally does come home.

"I think that sounds like a much better plan," Alice says, clasping her hands together.

It takes us less than ten minutes before we are back at mine and Edward's apartment.

My body is exhausted and my head hurts as my mind still races with thoughts on what could be happening with Edward right now. Is he playing? I hope so because that means he's alive.

As I unlock the door to the apartment, I silently hope that he is standing behind the door.

Flipping the lights on as I open the door for Alice and Jasper, I hear someone clear their throat and Alice gasps.

My head snaps in the direction she is looking.

Standing in my living room are three people I have never seen before.

A short, petite female with blonde hair that is almost white. She wears an all black top and pants with a large cloak covering her shoulders. Her makeup is dark making her pale skin more notable. Her hands are covered by leather gloves and red painted lips are set in a thin line.

Behind her stand two men. One with dark hair and similar features to her and the other with light hair but doesn't look anything like her. They also wear all black with long all black jackets and leather gloves.

"Who the fuck are you?" Jasper exclaims, stepping forward next to me.

The blond smiles but it isn't welcoming. She looks annoyed as she introduces herself, "Hi, I'm Jane, this is Alec and Felix." She points to the two males. "We are looking for Bella."

"Why?" Jasper continues to speak for me but I am honestly frozen in place as memories of Vegas rush back to me.

How the hell did they get in here?

"Aro has invited you to the game tonight," she says displeased. "It starts ten minutes ago so we need to get going so we aren't too late."

Seattle is three hours away but if she works for Aro then I am sure we won't be driving there.

"She's not going." Jasper is stern, stepping forward.

In all my years of knowing him, he has never stood up for me. He was always against me, at least it felt that way. He all but threw a party when he found out Edward wanted to divorce me. He pulled strings to make it go faster and talked it up to Edward like it would be the end of all of his problems. I can only imagine what he thought about me coming back to Forks and Edward reconciling with me.

Jane chuckles, "I wasn't asking."

"I want to go," I mumble.

I am not confident if I even heard myself right but I know Jasper did when he steps away from me.

"Bella, I promised Edward I wouldn't let you get involved." He whispers to me, hoping they didn't hear me.

Alice is behind me but I can feel her eyes burning into the back of me.

Edward has made a lot of promises with me and has broken them. At this moment, I don't care about his promise to Jasper.

I thought I was okay with coming home and waiting for Edward to get there but now that the opportunity to get to him has come, can I really just stay here?

"I want to go," I say louder this time so Jane can hear me.

"Wonderful." She looks pleased as Jasper looks pissed off.

Author's note: Bella will be joining Edward after all. What do you think is going to happen? Let me know in the reviews!
