The drive to the Oscorp HQ had an awkward silence as no-one desired to speak a word. Aldous was trying to get some shut-eye before he had to deal with the annoying general who seemed too desperate to get his hands on some of the technology that Oscorp managed to build over the years. Thanks to himself and his twin, Oscorp technology has made incredible advancements that help the lives of many people. However, they also recognized that their higher tier tech would be dangerous in some people's hands and ensure only they, and most trusted allies, had access to them. Brenna just simply looked outside of the car's windows as she watched the lively city continue their daily life routine and make the city function.
Thankfully, the silence was broken by the ringtone from Brenna's phone as she saw that her girlfriend had called her. This was one of the co-founders of Advanced Idea Mechanics, or AIM for short, Monica Rappaccini. The two had met at a New Year's Party that was hosted by the new CEO of Stark Industries. Both Monica and her partner, Aldrich Killian, had approached her to hopefully to form a business cooperation between the newly created AIM with the twins, since they had recently taken over Oscorp by their father's final request in his will. However, Brenna respectfully denied the offer since she believes that her brother, as well as herself, should figure out what they should do for the company first before taking any financial risks.
"Hello, Monica. What are you calling about? Is there a problem with the information you had requested?" Brenna asked as she leaned back in her chair while rubbing her arm for what seemed like comfort. Aldous opened an eye to watch how this conversation would turn out. He didn't exactly trust Ms Rappaccini since something about her didn't feel right. His gut seemed to tell him that Monica wanted to take advantage of her relationship with his sister and he wouldn't allow that to happen the second he found out this was true. Thankfully, his best friend was more than willing to keep tabs on Monica secretly just in case. "What are you talking about? You know why I can't send you blood samples to analyze the full effects of my Serum! There are too many risks with it!" Brenna yelled out of concern.
There was a small pause as Brenna began to rub the bridge of her nose as she tried to keep her anger in control. "I understand that your company is able to handle the risks, but I am not changing my mind about Human Experimentation until we have a handle on the Serum and have actually understood the full effects of it. If we aren't careful and rush this, we may make an incomplete version that allows the host's mind to be invaded and eventually controlled by the Lizard DNA within it… We need to take this slowly and cautiously. We don't want to cause a potential unstoppable monster like General Ross had created with his failed Gamma Experiment." Brenna protested with worry. This seemed to allow Brenna to relax as she sighed in relief. "Thank you for understanding, Monica. Love you." She told Monica before hanging up.
"Trouble in paradise?" Aldous asked his sister as he straightened himself as he looked at Brenna. Despite what rest of the world's views on The LGBQ Community, Aldous was supportive of Brenna's Bisexuality yet the people she chose to be with were a bit questionable or didn't work out for her. Brenna sighed in slight annoyance, but didn't express what the problem was regarding Monica and the Serum she had created. "Why did you even allow Monica to have your notes on your serum anyways? It was bad enough how it got into your system… I mean, it does have it's perks for you and whatnot. Heck, you could even become the first 21st-century super-heroine like Captain America was for World War Two against HYDRA and its leader, Redskull." He joked to lighten the mood.
Brenna's Lizard Enhancement Serum was one of a kind and quite powerful too. The Serum intended was to grant humans the ability to regenerate lost limbs and a fast pace healing factor that Lizards had. Yet, there were major side effects on the host. Brenna wasn't exactly proud of using herself as the first human subject to test the serum. However, the Serum did work amazingly yet over time she developed an anthropomorphic Lizard form that had superhuman strength, endurance, wall-crawling abilities, and senses while giving her the originally planned healing factor. This gave Brenna a grim concern for a potentially dangerous side effect too. The possibility of the Lizard DNA to invade her own mind and even take over her.
"You know why, Al… I don't want to end up becoming a monster myself… I asked for Monica's help to see if one of my concerns could happen. That is also why I am limiting how many times I morph into my lizard form too." Brenna told her brother as she looked at him. "Although, if I had to pick a Super-hero name… I think I'll go with Tiamat from Babylonian Mythology. Has a nice ring to it, huh?" She said with a slight laugh as she smiled at Aldous. This smile didn't have the murderous and aggressive feel as it normally gave off. "Also, I didn't tell Monica that I was a host for the original test either. I just told her there was a test subject, not that I was The test subject." She told him to allow Aldous to relax.
Aldous thought about the name of Tiamat for a bit as he tried to think of a better one if he could. "That does sound nice actually. Good pick sis." He told her with a chuckle. "But you actually think that could happen with you? It has been three years since you gained your Lizard Form and nothing has happened to you. I know for a fact you have morphed into that form more frequently too." He told her to make a point, "Guess that shows you could use it more often if we have to take up a new career on the side." Aldous continued as he playfully elbowed her.
Soon the car came to a stop next to The Oscorp HQ, which made the twins groan in annoyance knowing that they would need to address General Slocum and his overdone failed attempts to access their higher-tier technology for the twentieth time. "How many times are we gonna have to tell this guy no? This is getting irritating that we have to keep addressing this issue every damn time he is here…" Aldous announced in annoyance as he and Brenna exited the car. "Too many times already… I wish he got it through his thick skull already that we are not giving any access to the higher-tier technology that we developed… We are not gonna be as reckless as Stark has been…" Brenna announced as the two entered the building to their conference room for another long and dreaded meeting with the General once again.
On the way to the meeting, Brenna caught a glimpse of the TVs in one of the lounges and waiting areas. A news broadcast was discussing the sudden kidnapping of Stark Industries CEO, Angeline 'Tanya' Stark, during her weapon presentation of the newly developed Jericho Missile. They suspected that a terrorist group managed to ambush and capture Tanya sometime after her presentation. "Holy Crap! Tanya has been abducted!?" Brenna shouted out in utter shock. Aldous was shocked himself and a bit concerned for what might happen to her. Toni and himself shared a bit of a history during high school which resulted in a playful frenemy and rival like relationship due to them being prodigies of Technological Science and Development.
