Sun

When Persephone arrives, the summer sun comes with her, golden rays streaming out of her suitcase like it'd never left. Orpheus and the crowd drink it in gleefully, reveling in the warmth that will ensure a good harvest, full bellies, and a reprieve from clouds, cold, and darkness.

This year, however, a new arrival takes it in as if for the first time. Eurydice shyly introduces herself to the springtime goddess, and if she wonders what she's doing bringing summer sun instead of spring rain, well, before long she's too busy dancing to care. The sun's rays are infectious, filling everyone with hope for a better world.

And for Eurydice, Orpheus himself is the sun, sating her hunger for life and love. She hadn't even realized what she was missing at first, but just like the sun, he fills her with light. She hopes he'll shine on her forever.
