This is inspired by the concept album, where Justin Vernon's Orpheus vocals are layered in three pitches.

Poet

From a young age, Orpheus knew he had musical talent. It was evident in the way people smiled when he sang, swayed to the rhythm of his voice, stared at him with slight awe when, in the moments he really wanted to impress someone, he layered his voice in three different pitches simultaneously.

He was proud of his singing capabilities, but lyrics were harder at first. It wasn't for lack of inspiration; anything and anyone could become the basis for a song, if you looked hard enough and listened closely to what was around you. Writing it, seeing it through, was the tricky part.

The more Orpheus practiced, though, the better he became. It wasn't long before locals called him the poet. As he sang of the world and how it was once, how it was now, he planned to sing of how the world could be as well.
