Work

For all her husband extolled the virtues of work, giving idle hands things to do and idle minds an outlet, Persephone noted he sure wasn't keen on letting her work—at least, not recently.

No matter how many times she reminded him that she had a job to do too, giving those mortals some much-needed warmth and sun and rain, Hades cajoled her into staying.

Just a day late became just a week, and then just a month, and her job performance was quickly slipping. It was a shame Persephone couldn't find a substitute; Hermes was lucky that he had Iris in case he fell sick.

But bringing springtime required finesse that Antheia, goddess of flowers, just couldn't muster, and her momma Demeter was more focused on the harvest these days than the seasons.

As Hades called her home early, with open arms, Persephone rather hoped he'd let her get back to work on time.
