AN: There is gonna be some differences between canon and this timeline, to make things more since in this timeline. Also since this takes place after the war,I have more freedom.
If your wondering when Tanya will begin to train with Texan aerial mage gear, don't worry it will happen in next chapter
Port Amstredam,
Amstredam, Empire
2:19 PM 18th December, 1928
In my hands was a gift from one of my subordinates, Visha. It was a gift from her, chances are it was because she knew I would suffer without her coffee.
It was a box of chocolates, and on the top was a piece of paper, saying "do not lose!" on the paper was a recipe of Visha's coffee.
"There's no way in hell I could recreate your coffee Visha!" I remarked.
No seriously, it was a great gift of honour, to fight alongside her, albeit for all the wrong reasons in all but it didn't matter.
"Enjoying your gifts, from your subordinates?" I looked up and in Henry's hands was a suitcase.
"This is from your mother, she told me it's for you and not to read it, but chances are the guard checked it anyways. Don't worry I don't know what's inside." He placed the suitcase down next to me and sat down on the other side of the bench I was sitting on.
"Not only that, your new name will be Tasha Haussmann. Sorry about the name, the boys back in the intelligence Department are some uncreative people." He then handed me a visa with a picture of me, since it was black n white, it made things easier to forge visas without the worry of people noticing your eye color or others.
After he finished speaking, I picked up the suitcase and opened it. In it was a photo of a man who's wearing an imperial uniform, I flipped the photo to the backside and on the back was some writing, on it said "This is your father, Sonnen Hartmann."
She placed the photo back in the suitcase and picked up what she assumed was a family album photo. "Shouldn't the photo of my father be in the binder?" I comment to myself. Not dwelling on the subject further I opened it anyways and as expected it was a family album. In it was the entire family of both my fathers and my mothers.
I closed the album planning on looking through it later when I had time, then finally at the bottom was a lunch box suitable for a soldier, it must've been expensive for her but considering she's marrying Rerugen it could be expected.
Then unexpectedly Henry spoke "Enjoying the gifts from your mother, she's trying to help you." He said.
"I see." Silence began to set back in allowing me to go back to my thoughts.
What was nagging me right now was that Texas in my previous life was a state of the USA but in this timeline they became or they remained independent. I don't know much about US history but, there is in fact something else going on. That's not including the strange fact that they're number 12th technologically but still considered a minor power, probably a small man pool? Maybe they're like Legadonia. They have tons of potential but they're population limits them.
But what does that have to do with the high rates of college graduates that allows them to be what's basically a major power if it weren't for they're small population? Wait what's the population of Tejas?
"Henry, I have a question about Tejas." I asked him.
"Go ahead, what's the question?" He responded.
"Do you know what the population of Texas is?" I asked.
"Well from what I've heard from last year's census is that it's around like a million people, the country has been experiencing a major population boom from immigration recently." He said.
"Well that's strange, how you people are considered 12th in place technologically, despite being considered a minor power." I said.
Eventually our conversation was cut off by the ship arriving, but there is something nagging at me I can't help but shake off, like there's something else going on.
We got on the boat, apparently it was being escorted by a couple of escort ships deterring any Republicans from attacking this ship if they knew that the devil of the Rhine was on this ship.
2 weeks later port Magnolia, Magnolia
As the ship was docking I was able to get a look at the Magnolia city, it seemed to be a bustling city, not only that it seemed like skyscrapers were being built, a couple were here and there, but most were being built, from what I could see around 4 10 to 20 story high buildings were being built.
Not only that, the port was bustling with large ships docking and leaving every 10 to 20 minutes or so.
From what I've read from the history book given to me, apparently in 1901 a hurricane devastated the port city of Oleander, at the time it was the most largest and bustling city in Texas at the time which caused the government to move port to Magnolia, to shield it from hurricane damage, but it still is used as a barrier island with large naval artillery batteries to defend against a naval invasion, which was in fact helped funded by the Unified States, and Port Magnolia Is an important naval base for Texas.
Before the battle of Orse Fjord, it was considered the second strongest Naval Fortification in the world, but after the battle of Orse Fjord it was moved up to first. The only difference between the Orse Fjord and Oleander bay, Trinity bay, and the Oleander shield islands is its defensibility.
The Orse Fjord had overlapping lines of fire, Oleander Island doesn't have overlapping lines of fire, but they make that up with constant air support, and artillery support on the island. If it's broken through there's a second line of defense on the mainland in Oleander Bay, and parts of the ship channels.
The main difference between the mainland Naval fortifications and the barrier fortications, is the amount of guns, anybody moving through the bay are scared by the large naval guns out of fear of being shot, which is why crime is more lower heee than other parts of the country, even though Texas overall has low crime rates.
I cleared my mind from that and focused on what's on hand.
When the ship finished docking we got off the ship, we were met by multiple military police officers.
"We are here to pick up Tasha Haussmann and send her to the capital." Said one of the military police.
"What? I thought I was going to be sent to San Antone?" I ask.
"There has been some change in plans. Former emperor Maximilian III requests to meet with you."
I was then escorted to a nearby train station and was shipped off by the capital.
Outskirts of Austin
Estate of former Emperor Maximilian III
As the car began to pull up to the gates of the estate, I was able to get a good view of the mansion. It was a large area, with fountains, a large lawn, and a nice cobblestone path that leads up to the mansion and goes into a roundabout. The mansion was situated on a short hill, which made us have to go up an incline, but nothing major at all. The more that I looked at it the mansion itself was similarly designed to that of another mansion I saw in Texas, designed to be flexible in keeping in heat, and letting heat out when needed, that's what openable windows are for, to let the breeze in.
From what I've heard it can get quite hot here during the summer and somewhat warm during the winter.
Eventually the car pulled up to the mansion, in front of the large double doors. A butler came by to open the door, and a cold breeze hit me. When I got out of the car it was quite cold. It seemed like the breeze told me everything. Here it was a chilly 40 degrees fahrenheit, well that's nothing in the empire, or more specifically imperial Norden. But for Texas this is quite the unusual coldfront.
Since I don't have an operational orb on me to use magic to warm myself up, without straining myself, I tried to shield the cold with my fur jacket as a gift from my mother.
I was then escorted through some large double doors, into a large main hallway leading to multiple rooms, on the right side of the hallway, there was an opening that led to a living room. On the left side, there were some more large double doors, only I can assume, is the dining room.
At the end of the hallway, I saw a stairway leading upstairs, where I can only assume where the rooms are.
I took off my jacket and placed it on a rack where other jackets are out of respect.
I was then continued to be escorted to the large double doors I saw before. When the doors opened, I was greeted with a long room, with a large long dining table only affordable by the rich. It was quite empty actually, with what I assume was to be former emperor Maximilian, his wife, and his two heirs.
"Welcome, Miss Degurechaff." He said with a visible accent. Out of respect I sat down, then immediately a plate was pushed in front of me, on it was a mixture of imperial and Texan cuisine, some of which I first tasted on my voyage here.
"You must be hungry after a long drive, right?" He said near perfect Deutsch with an undeniable mexicilian accent "Sorry about not introducing myself Miss Degurechaff, for not introducing myself when you walked in the room." He quickly cleared his throat and continued "I thought you knew who I was, but that's understandable if you don't know me. I am a former emperor, and Imperial Noble, Ferdinand Maximilian Joseph the III. This is my wife, Marie Charlotte Amélie Maximilian. On my right is my son Ferdinand Maximilian Joseph the IV. On my wife's left is my daughter Ferdinand Charlotte Maximilian the II." His daughter quickly flashed me a smile but just as fast as the smile she went back to eating her food.
"I would like to thank the Unified States for refusing to execute you. The heroine of the Empire, the White Silver. You're quite popular here in Texas Degurechaff." Stated.
"I am? I'm somewhat surprised that my popularity reached over here, I thought I would be known as the devil of the Rhine over here or something just like the Unified States." I said.
He gave off a silent chuckle, but quickly responded "Its because many people fled from the empire during the first two weeks of the war, from Imperial Norden, and when the immigrants here learned of a new soldier holding the most highest honoring the empire could bestow on an aerial mage, they quickly became ecstatic. Before I forget, you're wondering why I called you here." He asked.
"I actually do." I say.
"Alright. If you have any message you want to move onto the imperial general staff, don't hesitate to ask alright?" He stopped for a bit but continued "Now shall we enjoy our dinner, cause as I stated before you must be quite hungry aren't you." He said.
After that I took a bite of the food and realized it was something I could handle.
After that unexpected meeting with the former emperor of Mexicilia, which mind you will be very important, with contacts I have, I was somewhat entertained by the fact I could have influence within the empire, somehow. But for now I will have to focus on the present for now.
20 years after the Great War
1948, Londinium
Sitting right in front of me is a very beautiful, blonde headed, germanian. Who says she knows where the eleventh goddess may be.
She placed the suitcase in her hands and placed it on the table.
"What I'm about to show is very illegal and if the government finds out we could end up dying." She said,
A shiver went down Andrews spine 'Illegal, what's so illegal on files about a myth?" He thinks to himself.
"What's so bad about these files, that you could disappear if the government found out?" He asks the woman.
"Well you see, according to the files in this brief case, an entire revolution could occur in the federal republic if the people found out that the White Silver, or devil of the Rhine, or the offensive title Eleventh Goddess, you journalist call her!" She says with clear anger.
"What's so offensive about the title Eleventh goddess?" Andrew asks.
"Well you see, from the stories I was told by my dad. The image he painted her was one of a mad dog who lusted for war, but still cared for her subordinates, my dad would call her 'The devil wearing the skin of a little girl' my dad still has nightmares about her to this day." She said.
It wouldn't be until he realized something "What do you mean by the fact your dad knew the ele- I mean devil of the Rhine and how are you aware of her existence, she's nothing more than a myth in history by this point, the only evidence we have of her, is in propaganda photos and the fact that V600 saw combat on every front?" He said not dwelling on the fact that the women in front of her stated that she's the half sister of the Eleventh Goddess
"Well, before I show you what's in the briefcase, I would like to state that the White Silver is my half sister." She said.
'Half sister?' He thought to himself being barely able to believe any of this information at all. "What do you- Nevermind just show me what's inside of the briefcase?" He asked.
"Alright." She opened the brief, and turned it around. In said briefcase, there seemed to be older files. He picked up the top most file, on it right in imperial writing, was three uncensored words 'Tanya Von Degurechaff'; it then struck him, the 11 Xs' means Degurechaff. He then opened the file and it was the entire file on Degurechaff.
He quickly skimmed the file taking note of birth dates, subordinates, and there was an unexpected line, current place of residence: Park Rd 38, San Felipe, TX 77473.
He enjoyed the fact he was getting tons of information on a person who is nothing more than myth. "So your saying the eleventh goddess is real, and she's alive, and we know where she is?" He said.
"Yes, she is still alive. But chances are she's probably gonna hold a gun at us when we get to her estate." She said.
"Alright, then how about we do a documentary on the Texan-Mexicilian war. To use as a coverup?" He said.
"All right." She said, with a smug face.
AN: Thank you for reading my story. Also please tell me if there is anything wrong or you feel like there's anything missing and point it out.
Also some aspects may be unrealistic, but I got to make things interesting, so yeah.
