Alamo Garrison, San Antone

Tanya was enjoying some of Visha's recipes, it wasn't as good as directly from her but it was still ok. It also has been about a week since my "first" live fire mission, and the border dispute now being called the Benito Juárez incident.

Since that time I met Henry again and he did me some favors despite having a higher rank than me he did them for me by putting me in the rear. It was probably out of respect for my achievements. Not only that, he put in a suggestion for military college which is good because officially speaking I don't have a college education and I joined the military directly out of high school, also I can get promoted to captain or Major and regain the benefits I had when I was in the imperial army as commander of the 203rd.

Not only that I'm a commander of a platoon currently stationed in San Antone, I am also with Corporal Gutierrez who got stationed with me.

Then the intercom blared to life.

"All personnel on base, report to the center of the base as soon as possible. The president will make an announcement soon." The speaker over the intercom said.

"Well it looks like this coffee will have to wait." I said to myself.

Corporal Gutierrez and I quickly got out from our seats and headed to the center of the century-old fort.

After walking for a few minutes we arrived at the center of the base, the commanding officers looked miserable as chances are they'd probably been informed beforehand.

After looking around at the confused soldiers to make sure everybody was here, he then turned to the radio and turned it on.

"That's it for now, but the president is going to make a speech soon. This hasn't been printed in the newspapers yet but after this speech they will." The person over the radio said.

It then switched to the president "The people of Texas! I have grave news to report. The Mexicilian government has declared war on our homeland, but we will not surrender their oppressive regime! 90 years ago! Our ancestors rebelled against Santa Anna's and his army to centralize the government, and this is no different! We fought for a single goal in mind. Back then it was for our land, but this time isn't isn't just about our land: It's about our freedom, our country. This is a message to the Mexicilians: we will not submit to your rule, our people, our country will not surrender to you! No matter how many troops you throw at us, no matter how many Texans you kill. The people of Texas will not surrender! So for your homes, families will you fight with me?" The president's speech ended, and the radio turned to other news but the General turned it off before we could hear anymore.

The mood had clearly darkened.

"Well you heard what the president said, now go get your gear we're mobilizing." The General ordered. Everybody was a little shocked but they quickly started to get ready as ordered.

19th February, 1930

U.S Senate, Philadelphia District of Columbia

As all the congressmen and senators from all around the country began to settle in, president Hoober knew full well this would be a long discussion, and painful discussion. He knew full well that many of the southern senators who are descendants of slave owners and would be willing to go to war to protect their cousins in Texas, and then there were the democrats, they too would be a pain to deal with, ever since the collapse of the American economy, and the world economy, his administration has been losing popularity for a while by this point. His failure to fix the American economy. Now with Mexicilia's declaration of war on Texas, who is an ally of the Unified States and it hasn't even been two years since the Great War in Europa ended. He became president at a bad time, or he was just unlucky when things like this occurred. He sighed at his current predicament, he knew full well he wouldn't win his re-election, unless the economy fixes itself.

By this point all the senators and Congressmen had settled down and were all waiting for the meeting to begin.

"I have some bad news to report. One day ago Mexicilia declared war on Texas, and they have asked us to stay out of this war. After thinking this over for a few hours I have decided that we will stay out of this war."

This caused a major uproar among the southern Senators.

"What! Stay out of this war? We have family and friends in Texas, we can't just abandon our brothers and sisters out of a mere request from the aggressors?" The Georgian Senator yelled at the president. Many of the other southern senators agreed with him.

This mostly had to do with the fact that culturally speaking Texas is more aligned with the south than the north despite being more industrialized, and being abandoned by not joining the confederacy.

"Says the bastards who rebelled against the north when all we wanted to do was free the slaves." The New Amsterdam Senator said.

"What does the Civil War have to do with this current crisis?!" The Georgian Senator asked.

Eventually the entire meeting which was planned on just being an announcement devolved into historical slurs, cand curses at each other. After a few hours of this everybody settled down for the president to speak.

"How about we put it to a vote, about whether or not to go to war since nobody can agree on what to say." President Hoober said.

All the senators in the room only grumbled at the response.

"The Senators who do support war, please raise your hand." The president said.

Most of the Senators from the southern states, and some more minor parties raised their hands, but since the Democrats took the majority of control in the Congress when Hoobers reforms failed, the republicans were still in the minority.

The next question he knew full well would be the one that wins, as the Democrats, and the coalitions would control about 51% of the Senate combined.

"The Senators who do not support war, please raise your hand."

And as expected the Democrats and the coalitions raised their hands against war.

"It is decided then, the Unified States will not aid our allies." President Hoobers said.

The next day an announcement would be made to the American people.

Millions of people tuned in at home. Teachers stopped teaching their students to see this announcement. Bars were full with people who don't have access to radios and want to know what this announcement is about. Thousands of people were at the Capitol building silently listening to the president to his announcement. This announcement made the country seem to stand still.

Then the president's speech began "My fellow Americans. I have very bad news to give you, the People's Democratic Republic of Mexicilia has declared war on the Republic of Texas." He stopped for a second to sink that in then continued " The Mexicilian government has asked us to stay out of this war. After a 'long' debate about whether or not to declare war on Mexicilia and protect our neighbor, the American Government has decided to not protect Texas and remain neutral in this war out of fear of losing more American lives." The president said.

When he said that millions of Americans began to run to the streets to protest not caring about what the president said next. Within hours of that announcement the streets of Philadelphia in front of the Whitehouse were full of protesters. It was the same in other major American cities. The national guard was called in to control the protesters if things got violent.

Then it did get violent, the national guard was breached in Philadelphia, the Whitehouse was stormed.

Everybody present in the Whitehouse was evacuated, the ghosts of previous U.S presidents were confused at what was going on. Vases were shattered, furniture was damaged by the angry American mob. Even the House of Representatives, and Congress were raided. The protests in other U.S cities stopped when word that the White house was raided got out.

The national guard failed at their job, even then the U.S military was woefully underprepared. Ever since the Great War ended, the U.S military got large amounts of budget cuts which made them unprepared, even though it hasn't even been 2 years since the end of the Great War, along with the American people's belief that there would be no new war on the land for decades to come, which was the source of the budget cuts, outside of the navy.

The White House rioters after a few hours were controlled, the entire capital was put on lockdown. Aerial Mages patrolled the skies above the capitol, although overkill for just a bunch civilians this was mostly out of fear for an organised rebellion, which could lead to a second american civil war which will be bloodier than the first civil war.

Civilians were ordered to stay in their homes until further notice, schools were shut down for the day, stores were closed.

The sound of airplanes flying over the capitol, looking out for anything out of the usual.

The riot didn't change the government's choice on neutrality, which prompted thousands of Americans to move to Texas, either legally, or illegally to help Texas fight their war against Mexiciia.

AN: If you want to have discussions with other people go to the space battle version theres no difference between the two, and its under the same name.
