Good afternoon everyone and happy hump day. So yesterday I had to take the day off work because I had a 24 hour bug and wasn't very well so managed to knock a few chapters out. just shows that working seriously cramps my writing abilities lol. Maybe its time to resign and sit at home writing fan fic all day everyday... if only!
Well Earl's demise seemed to go down well, I loved the comment about him only getting away with a broken nose, and to that reviewer, your absolutely right.
I'm at the point where I'm writing about Earl coming back into this fic and I'm struggling a little bit because I really want to do it justice. I have a few ideas in the pipeline but if you have something you want to see happen to Earl, please pm or review with your idea and I will take it into consideration, and might even steal the idea haha.
Here's a bit of Calzona communication for you all, its going to be a long road to get these two women together, Callie is damaged almost beyond repair right now and i have a general idea of how its going to happen but I haven't gotten there yet with the chapters I have banked up.
Anyways, on with the chapter, i do hope you enjoy it.

After completing his own inspection of Arizona's throat Webber turned to Callie with a sympathetic smile "We were informed by Mr Thompson that Miss Robbins here was to be banned from your room, am I to assume that this ban is to be removed and I can notify my staff to allow her near you?" Callie nodded solemnly as she watched her feet intently "And the ban on your parents, I mean technically with the restraining order you have in place we really shouldn't allow them in, but if your prepared to waiver that and want them here we can certainly assist you in that". Callie glanced up at Dr Webber, her face full of confusion.
"I called them as soon as I arrived. They were here until security kicked them out cause of the restraining order you have against them" Callie's confused gaze turned to Arizona who sighed at the look. "Chief can you call the officer on the case and let him know. If Callie didn't sign the order herself then it's possible he has a friend on the force that helped him falsify one which means we need to be alert with what information is classified by anyone not directly dealing with the case and that anyone touching the case needs to be vetted and kept to a minimum"
Webber stepped out the room to make the call in private but stood beside the door so no one else could enter.
Callie looked at Arizona shyly and all the blonde could do was offer a sad smile in return.
"The flower drawing?" Callie asked to break the silence in the room.
"I wanted you to know I was here for you, even if I was told you wouldn't allow me to see you. I knew the second I was told I was banned from coming near you that something was going on, I knew you would never do that to me" Arizona offered her explanation painfully, but she was just glad that the brunette was speaking to her
"I didn't" Callie offered simply, a hint of fear in her voice.
"I know" Arizona shrugged, flinching in pain at the movement.
"When… umm, when did you get here?"
"Jo called within minutes of you arriving, just after she had ID'ed you to the trauma team. I dropped everything and ran, I arrived five and a half hours after you did. I'm sorry it took me so long to get here" Arizona croaked.
"You came straight away?" Callie asked in shock.
"Of course I did, it was never in question. I promised I would come if you ever needed me and here I am… even if I was a little late" The blonde offered with words full of sadness.
"I'm so sorry" Callie began to sob.
"Cal I am here now ok, and I am not going anywhere else, I promise you"
"But Hopkins? Your life?" Callie hiccupped.
"Will still be there when we are ready for the outside world. But you are far more important than anything else" Arizona promised.
"I'm not more important than your dreams" The brunette said with utter self-loathing.
"You're not going to get rid of me so stop trying to push me away, there is no point in even trying. I am sticking around and that's final Cal"
"Arizona Robbins, quit talking or you're going to make your throat a hell of a lot worse. I don't want to hear another word from your mouth for at least the next two hours until the damaged tissue has time to settle and the medications have the opportunity to start working. If I hear one more word from you then I will personally separate you and have you moved to the crappiest room we have in this hospital" Dr Bailey said with a pointed glare at the blonde.
"I'll be quiet I promise, I'm sorry!" Callie uttered with a small voice; the fear evident in each word.
"You have nothing to apologize for Callie… this stubborn fool on the other hand, she's been a right pain in my ass for days now!" Bailey offered the scared woman a soothing smile.
" Hey" Arizona half-heartedly protested.
"Did you not just hear me say 'no talking'?" Bailey glanced at her and Arizona instantly shut up. If there was one thing she had learned over the past few days it was that you didn't mess with Dr Bailey.
An hour later and a short quiet rap on the door Callie's parents enter sheepishly and Callie completely breaks down. They glance to Arizona nervously and see her throat swollen and bruised and a sad look in her eye. Carlos nods to Lucia then leaves the room only to return minutes later and sits beside Callie with his hand on the bed. Callie looks at it in fear and shies away but Carlos keeps it still and in place.
"No one will ever lay a finger on you again Mija. I'm going to keep my hand right here and if you need it you can take it and If not then that's ok too. I will just keep it right there and not move it at all" Carlos soothed to his little girl who was sat looking like the shell of the woman he last saw when they argued over the marriage proposal.
Callie nods but doesn't look at her father. She is far too ashamed and embarrassed to look him in the eye.
They sit in silence until Barb and Dan arrive and move straight to Arizona to coddle her. Barb glances at Callie and moves to hug her but seeing the fear she stops and instead places a simple tender kiss on the back of her hand next to the catheter. Callie breaks into sobs and grabs Carlos hand. Barb hugs Lucia, whispers in her ear then moves back to Arizona.
