As the horn blasted, Mercedes ran as fast as she could, matching Will's pace for pace; he tried to trip her up, but she kept her wits about her and pushed forward. Once they came around the bend, Will was in the lead, but Mercedes kept a steady pace. She knew that it wasn't all about speed it was about pacing yourself. And even though she reached Sam moments after Will, they immediately got into sync. Once cuffed together, Sam held her hand, and the two worked with each other, gliding through the tires with ease.
Side by side, they fell to the ground and worked their way through the barbwire. Not even glancing back, Mercedes pushed harder as she heard Will yelled at his wife for not moving fast enough.
Once they got to the wall, Sam smiled. "Come on, Merce, we got this; we have always been in sync lets show them how well we work together, especially when challenged."
Mercedes nodded and grabbed hold of the wall with Sam; they climbed in sync, reaching the top simultaneously. With Will and Emma on their tail, Mercedes and Sam jumped down and started digging. Dirt flew everywhere as they searched for the key. When Will and Emma joined them, Will began tossing their dirt into Mercedes pile. She could have gotten angry, but for some reason, she wasn't. She just continued to dig and squealed as she found the key. "Got it!"
She and Sam uncuffed themselves and ran towards the finish line. The moment they reached it, Sam pulled Mercedes to him and kissed her deeply. His hand went to her hair as his tongue caressed hers. He let her go as she stepped back with a smile.
She hadn't even registered the cheering around her or that Will was standing there staring at them. Sam's hand went around her waist, and she smiled. "Do you think we could skip dinner?"
Sam nodded. "I am starving but not for food."
Burt walked over to Mercedes and Sam. "That was very impressive."
Mercedes smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Hummel."
Sue nodded. "Not gonna lie, even with Schuster's hair gel weighing him down, I thought he would give you more competition. That was a great show of strength and power."
Mercedes blushed, and Sam stepped forward. "She is the best partner I could ask for. We push each other, and there is no one I trust more with my life. But if you will excuse us, we have a win to celebrate."
Sam pulled Mercedes towards their Cottage, and the moment the door closed, he pulled her to him. "I have wanted to do this for so long." He said, lifting her chin to his. "No interruptions, no miscommunication, none of that."
Mercedes nodded, unable to speak up. Sam continued. "I have made a lot of mistakes with you, the most recent being not telling you when I first laid eyes on you just how much I am in love with you. From the moment I laid eyes on you, God, Mercedes, I knew there was something special about you. When everyone slept on you in high school. I knew you were destined for great things. I think I have loved you from that moment, loved you from the moment I met you."
"Sam-" Mercedes started, but Sam shook his head.
"No, I want to finish. I never should have been with Rachel, or Kitty, or Penny, or any of the girls I was with just wasting my time when the perfect woman has been by my side from day one. And I never told you because I never wanted you to settle. I thrive in the small town, but you, I am scare you would suffocate. But I can't let that be the reason I won't speak up. I can't let that be the reason I lose you. Because of my fear."
Mercedes closed her eyes for a moment before moving closer to him and linking her hands into his. "I love you too, Sam."
Mercedes leaned into him, kissing him gently at first, wrapping her arms around his neck before the hunger took over. She couldn't control herself, no matter how slow she wanted to take things with him, no matter how slow she wanted to, all she could see was how much she wanted Sam, needed Sam at that moment.
Her hands went to his shirt, tugging it off of his body; she let her hands roam over his chest as her eyes met his. The same look she had seen before, she saw now. Lust, hunger, love, it was all the things she was feeling, reflected back to her from Sam. Fear screamed at her from the back of her mind, for her to stop this, but she couldn't, and neither could he.
Her arms lifted as Sam removed her clothes with a gentle touch that she had never felt before. He handled her as if she was a delicate rose. Each item of clothing he undressed was met with his lips. As he kissed her, he sent tingling sensations all up and down her body.
"Sam…"
Left her lips as he kissed her inner thigh, his hands worked their way back up her body, as she was completely naked now. Stepping out of his own clothes, Mercedes yelped as Sam lifted her, placing her on the bed and his lips on top of hers. Mercedes arched into his touch as his lips traced a path with his tongue down her body.
"Sam, please."
She watched his eyes light up at her begging. "Please what?" He teased, his finger circling her clit.
"Please…" She begged against her hips, jerking forward, hoping to alleviate some of the want and need.
Sam clicked his teeth, and she groans in frustration. "Please, I need you, Sam; I need to feel you please!" She said, half annoyed but primarily horny. His lips found hers again, and she hissed as he went to her ear.
"There are so many things I want to do to your body, to you, but in truth, I have wanted to be inside of you for a long time; I don't think I can take my time with you, not this first time."
Mercedes turned his face towards hers as she reached between his legs, groping his impressive length. "I guess it's good we have all night."
Lips crashed together as she lined him up with her. "I'm ready." She moaned between kisses.
They were fevered, rushed kissed turned slow and tantalizing. It was like time stood still for Mercedes as Sam pushed slowly inside of her. She squeezed him for all he was worth, and all she could do was let her head fall back and moan out as he filled her to the brim.
"Sam, you feel sooo." Her voice trailed off as he started to move. "Shit Merce! You are perfect, so perfect for me. So beautifully perfect."
Lifting her thigh over his back, Sam flipped them, holding Mercedes to the edge of the bed. Her arms wrapped around his neck as she started to ride him slowly at first, then moved faster while Sam gripped her thighs. Her body moved on its own, moved in sync with Sam's, giving them both pleasures neither had ever experienced before.
"So close, Sam!"
Mercedes cried out as she came hard against him, nails digging in his back, her body stiff against his. Sam followed suit cumming right after her moaning out her name.
Her eyes opened to find Sam staring at her. His hand moved her hair out of her face, and he smiled. "God, I have waited so long for that."
Mercedes nodded. "Sam, what does this mean?"
"I hope it means we will be together."
Mercedes sighed, moving from his lap and grabbing his shirt. "I want that too, Sam, more than I realized, but what are we going to do? I am up for promotion here, and you have your life in Lima; you can't move here any more than I can move there. And oh God, what about us? What about our friendship! If this doesn't work because we are long-distance, I don't want to lose you."
Sam stood walking over to her. "You won't lose me! I don't know how we can do this, but we can."
Mercedes closed her eyes. "How do you know? What's going to happen if this thing doesn't work? Would you move here?"
Sam frowned. "I don't...I don't know."
"So when would we see each other? One weekend out of the month? Then what? How long can we keep that going?"
"Mercedes, why are you doing this? Pulling away from me."
"I'm scared, Sam! You said it yourself. Said you can't handle being in the big city. I am terrified that I am gonna lose you in every way. And I don't want to risk losing you. Ever. You are everything to me, Sam. And this is terrifying. If I lose you."
Sam nodded. "I get it. You don't want to be with me." He grabbed his jeans and a shirt, putting them on angrily.
"Sam! That is not what I am saying."
"Isn't love worth the risk?"
"Sam I-"
He shook his head, grabbing his shoes he avoiding her eye connect. "I need some air."
Sam walked out of the room, slamming the door, and Mercedes sat on the bed, grabbing her phone. She knew better than to follow him, he needed a minute to process everything, and she needed a minute to think things out. She loved him, really truly loved him, and maybe Sam was right, and being with him was worth the risk.
