Tenth chapter! Sheeesh

I hope you're all enjoying the story so far. I'm afraid it'll be coming to an end soon, but I'll definitely be making more. Maybe even a sequel to this one! Anyways, I hope you enjoy the read~

The next morning came, what felt like too early.

Samus woke up to a smiling Falcon, playing with a wild piece of blonde hair that had escaped her messy ponytail.

"Morning, sleepy head."

"W-what time is it?"

"It's.." he craned his neck back to read her alarm clock, "9:36."

"It's too early." She complained, stuffing her face back into his chest.

"Come on!" He chuckled, stroking her head, "neither of us have trained for two days, and the tournament isn't as far as we think."

"What? What do you mean 'we'? You haven't trained?"

"Well, I sort've stopped training when you did.. I was worried. Especially after you slapped me."

"Yeah.. sorry about that."

"We should also probably stop in case someone comes in and notices us sleeping together."

There was awkward silence, before the two quickly sat up and away from each other.

"Right... I'm going to get dressed. Save a seat for me in the cafeteria?"

"Of course."

The racer got up and quietly shut her door, hurrying down the winding hallway.

Samus was convinced that she had overreacted. She should've found out more detail before jumping to conclusions. But there she was. Still a bit bewildered after a night with the F-Zero racer.

She pulled on her Zero Suit, inpatient to join the others in the dining hall.

Suddenly, there came a light knock at her door.

Expecting Snake there to question her on why Falcon had just been in her room, Samus opened the door with a sigh.

Snake wasn't in sight.

Instead, Nana stood firmly, looking up at her.

"Oh. Hey there." Samus greeted, but got cut off by the small child.

"Samus, I need your help to become badass."

"Where the hell did you learn to curse?" She paused. "Don't answer that."

Nana then marched into her room, pouncing onto her bed in a sitting position.

"I desperately need to learn your ways! I wanna be just like you!"

Samus just stood there confused. Why was this so sudden? Nana was growing up. She was probably going through puberty, and that was probably the cause. Teens always wanted to change who they were at some point in their lives. But Samus... no. Samus was pretty sure Nana Didn't want to be like her.. at all.

"Why me?" She interrogated.

"Well, you're super strong looking, you're really tall, you've got big boobs..."

Yeah, those are the things that keep my jumping mobility limited.

"So pleeeaasssseee, PLEASE TEACH ME!"

"Okay fine, but calm down first."

"Great!" Nana jumped off of her bed and headed for the door.

"Wait." Samus stopped her, " I'm only teaching you better self defense and helping you a bit in training. I can't exactly help you with... anything else.."

Nana thought about this, but after a second or two, she agreed.

"Okay! I guess I'll see you after lunch?"

"Sure, why not?"

Nana then skipped out of the room, leaving Samus standing there in silence.

What the hell did I just agree to?

Samus wasn't exactly fond of the young Ice Climber. She was rude, direct, and sometimes brutally honest.

And as if her fiery personality wasn't enough, when it came to Samus's 'teacher act' she was just as bad.

They would be fighting fire with fire.

Samus entered the cafeteria, spotting the table with her friends.

She walked up to it, then sank down into the empty chair next to Link, with a huge sigh.

"What's wrong now?" Peach asked.

"Nana just asked me to train her." Samus replied, snatching a piece of food off of Link's plate and shoving it into her mouth, "and I said that I would..."

"What? Really?" Peach questioned.

"Yep. This is gonna be a living hell."

"Not necessarily," Falcon spoke up, "this would be a great opportunity for you to not only teach her better fighting skills, but also to be more courteous."

"Falcon's right." Link managed to say, even though his face was shoveled full with food.

"Possibly.. I'm too tired to even think about training though.." Samus grumbled, leaning her head back.

"Then why did you accept?" Peach pointed an accusing spoon at her.

"It's because she's got a hidden soft spot for kids." Falcon replied for her.

"What? No way."

"Just don't curse in front of her, okay? She might pick it up."

"Too late.."

"What?!"

After Breakfast, Samus headed towards her inevitable fate with the beast of burden that she had agreed to help. The others thankfully decided to join her.

Once at the gym, they all met up with Nana, who was dressed in a pink T-shirt, and shorts. She had discarded the parka.

"Right. Can we start now? I've been waiting here for almost fifteen minutes!"

Samus rolled her eyes.

"You can start by giving me one hundred sit ups. Let's go."

Nana quickly grabbed a thick mat, and stuck her shoes under it so that she could sit up easier.

"After you've finished, I want you to go outside and run around the entire property."

"You monster, it's 96 degrees outside." Falcon commented.

"I know."

When Nana reached her 50th sit up, Peach turned to Samus.

"Why are you being so hard on her the second she started? Shouldn't she just start off with something simple?"

"Nope. She said she wanted to be like me, and this is how I learned."

"I almost feel bad for you.." Link said, watching Nana slowly gasp for air.

"100!" Nana shouted once she finally got there.

"Great. Now get up and run outside. Let's have you do... hmm.. 5 laps around the entire property."

Nana sighed, and then walked towards the door, the others following closely behind.

"This is hard to watch.." Link admitted, shading his vision with his hand.

Nana was limply jogging back to where they were standing. She had just completed her 2nd lap.

Once she reached them, she buckled over, panting.

Samus stood tall, dark sunglasses protecting her eyes from the sun. "Keep going."

"W-what?" Nana looked up at her Sensei. Samus only nodded in the direction she had to run.

Nana let out a whine, but obeyed.

"Know what this calls for?" Falcon said, keeping his eyes on the small child.

"Huh?"

"A beach day."

Peach suddenly brightened up, and squealed.

"You're right! I'll go talk to Master Hand!" She started running towards the mansion saying something that sounded like "finally I can try out my new bikini!"

"Hmm.. maybe the beach would be nice.."

Nana was no longer in sight, as she was now behind the building.

The beach was located to the north of the mansion, a little father out. But it also existed in other directions, as if the mansion had been built on on island.

After Nana's 5th lap, she had fully collapsed onto the ground.

Peach came running out, already dressed in her 'new bikini', which the other Smashers took as a sigh of 'yes, we are going to the beach'.

"Alright, kid," Samus addressed Nana, "we're all going to the beach, but don't think just because it's fun, you get to slack off."

"There's a volleyball net there. We could play together. That always gives your legs a good workout." Falcon suggested, heading back inside to get dressed.

"Good suggestion, Falcon." Samus remarked, following after him, and leaving Nana half dead in the grass.

When all the Smashers, and I mean All the Smashers had made their way to the beach, Falcon gathered a group of people to play Volleyball with them.

"Alright, we all know how to play, correct?"

He was on one side with Link, Marth, Fox, Snake and Roy.

Samus stood on the other side of the net with Nana, Pit, Squirtle, Pikachu, and Jigglypuff.

"Kore wa kōheide wa nai yōdesu.. (this doesn't seem fair..)" Marth commented to Falcon before he thought it over and agreed

"Hey Sam!" The Captain called to her, "wanna have someone.. taller on your team?"

She waved at him to reassure him that she was fine, and then, the game began.

Roy started out with a swift smack to the ball that sent it over, in which Samus cleanly returned it.

Link quickly, and a bit too hardly, smacked the ball right back over the net. It went hurdling towards Squirtle who began to panic.

But even though he was on the other side of their turf, Samus ran over, and sent the ball flying.

Nana gaped at her speed.

"How did you get over there so fast?" She asked, astonished.

"Practice." Samus huffed.

"Daaammnn Samus! That was impressive!" Roy shouted to her, catching the ball.

She had discarded her sunglasses somewhere in the sand and was now walking over to Squirtle, who had his head down in shame for missing the ball.

"Hey, don't sweat it," she reassured the small creature, "you'll get the next one. I have a plan of how you can.."

The boys watched her through the net, as she leaned down and started whispering to the Pokemon.

"What do you think she's whispering about?" Fox wondered aloud.

"One way to find out!" Roy said, bouncing the ball over the net.

Samus quickly ran over and bumped the ball gently over the net, which was brought back over by Fox. The ball went back and forth, until it was Squirtle's turn.

The ball went flying towards the Pokémon

But instead of cowering away from it, the Squirtle jumped up and then slammed his tiny hands against the earth, bringing up a huge geyser of water that smacked against the ball and shot it through the air. Waaay over the net.

The men watched the ball go, none of them making a move to retrieve it.

"I'll go get it.." Snake grumbled.

"How do you keep getting all of those hits in? I've gotta know!" Nana asked Samus, who had wondered over to grab her water bottle.

After taking a chug of it, she answered. "I always keep my eye on the ball. Never what's around me. It's not my job to watch out for whoever's around me, it's theirs'."

Snake finally got back from his hunt, and threw the ball over the net.

The game started again.

"I've got it! I've got it-Oohf!" Pit slammed against the sand at his attempt to return the ball. Luckily, Samus was on it, zipping past him and punching the ball into the air.

"You okay, kid?"

"That was so cool, Ms. Aran! Woah!" As Pit continued fangirling, the boys huddled up.

"We're already behind on a couple points. If we keep up the slack, we'll lose to a woman, some kids and their Pokemon. That Can't look good for us." Fox said.

"Don't worry," Captain Falcon replied, "I've for an idea."

Once they returned to their original positions, Pit had the ball.

He threw it into the air, lightly bumping it over the net.

It went towards Marth, but suddenly, Falcon threw himself in the way, raising his arm back.

Then, flames burst from around it.

Oh shit. Samus groaned.

"FALCON PUNCH!!"

Samus could almost see the ball Turing inside out as it pressed forcefully into his fist.

She could handle this.

Samus squinted her eyes, ran backwards a bit, and then Leapt up. The ball came flying over, faster than light.

The boys gaped as it smacked into her balled up hands, somehow deflecting it so that it shot farther then the one sent from Squirtle.

She then landed, with much unwanted motion from her upper body. *ᶜᵒᵘᵍʰ ᶜᵒᵘᵍʰ*

There was silence that was then broken by a squealing Pit.

"THAT WAS AWESOME!!"

Samus chuckled, and rubbed the back of her neck.

"He's right, it was." Snake commented clearly not talking about the hit, before getting a smack on the side of the head by Falcon.

"Now..." Samus said, walking towards the net after giving Pit an endearing noogie.

"What the hell kinda hit was that!?" She yelled at them.

"It was Falcon's idea!" Fox said defensively.

"No shit it was Falcon's idea! That ball could've killed someone!"

"Sam, calm down," Falcon said to her grumpy face, "all that matters is that you're here and it didn't."

"True.." Samus huffed, crossing her arms, "I'm awesome."

The boys all laughed nervously, but she interrupted.

"I'm also not going to get that ball."

Snake sighed, knowing that he would most likely be voted out to going and getting it.

After the sun began to set, all the smashers began to slowly migrate back to the mansion.

"Damn, didn't even get to tan that much." Falcon bitched as they all walked together.

"You're already tan as it is." Samus commented.

"Tan?! I can never get tanned! I only get sunburnt." Pit whined, running his hand long his reddened, aching arms.

Link ran up to the crew, holding a crab.

"Guys look! I found a crab!"

"That's really cool, Link." Falcon replied.

Samus smiled at them, but then quickly grabbed her middle.

It's that damn spot again. It's killing me.

"Hey, Sam. Is something wrong?" The Captain asked.

"Yeah, it's just.. I'm a little achey from Volleyball.. that's all."

If she told him about her current state, he might bust their cover and pick her up to run her to the hospital wing.

Once they reached the mansion, the group parted ways to get dressed and ready for dinner.

Samus, of course, decided to crawl inside the shower.

There is sand in places there shouldn't be.

The group was joined by Marth and Roy for dinner. Roy started up a conversation about how his English was slowly getting better and better, which started up another convo based around how Marth couldn't speak English for shit.

Then came sleep.

Finally. My sides been aching all day.

As Samus curled herself up into her bed sheets, she wondered if Nana was hurting yet.

Probably not, seeing as I've just started on her. She's got a lot coming her way.

Sleep came softly that night.

As if life is finally going as it should, Samus thought as she dozed off.

It hurt how wrong she was.
