Well, well, well. Chapter 11. And it's a surprisingly long one!
Anyways, my friend said that she didn't want to be mentioned in this chapter so I'm gonna do it anyways.
Olive. Please don't leave me after this chapter. Please.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the read! Reviews, favorites and saves are all greatly appreciated!
The next morning, Samus joined her normal crew, plus Roy and Fox at a table.
Breakfast was some sort of apple crisp with honey milk tea and berries on the side.
"I hear it's supposed to be colder today." Falcon began, popping a blueberry into his mouth.
"A shame. It would've been fun to hang out at the beach again." Fox commented.
Their weak conversation was interrupted by Master Hand, whom floated up onto the small stage, and again, pulled out a microphone.
"Hello, Everyone. I hope you're all having a splendid day. Eh.. Crazy and I.. have some news for everyone.."
They all stared at him.
Probably not making his nerves any better.
"Two things actually. The first thing is that there will be a new rule starting today that Relationships aren't.. authorized.. in this facility."
They all looked around at each other confused.
"WHY?!" Roared Bowser from the back of the room.
"Because.. there was an incident that happened yesterday, and we don't go into the details, but we don't want a replay."
Peach shifted uncomfortably in her seat, apparently upset by this.
Samus and Falcon exchanged looks.
What incident? Was peach involved?
The massive hand continued.
"And the second thing is that today you will all be battling."
Samus heard groans and applause from the crowd. Falcon seemed happy about this. It was hard to tell though because of his helmet.
"There is a new list of who you will be going against after breakfast, on the News Board."
He then floated off the stage muttering something under his breath that sounded like "I'm getting too old for this shit."
Falcon did them all a favor by grabbing one of the lists, and bringing it to their table.
"Sonic.." Falcon muttered under his breath. The hedgehog had always hated the racer, no matter what he did.
Probably because he's almost as fast as he is, now that his sonic speed was dimmed down by the mansion.
"Hmmm.. Zelda.." Peach thought a loud.
"Better be careful with... Z-el-da," Roy stumbled over his words, "Marth really likes her."
"Hey.. you'd better go easy on her, because I'm here too!" Link said, offended. But he didn't have his full attention on them, for he was feeding the crab that he had caught the day before. It was now stored in a plastic, see through box with sand and air holes.
After breakfast, all the Smashers gathered around in the thousands of seats. This time, the assist trophies joined them in the booths.
Samus spotted Sonic staring daggers at the F-Zero racer from across the arena. Maybe he hated him for those three times the racer had won against him. Or maybe it was because they only ever battled three times. But that hatred should've worn off already.
The bounty huntress didn't sit with the others. She sat by herself, getting déjà vu of the first time she had come here.
Her match was against Ritcher. She'd only fought against him once before, coming out of the battle that she'd lost saying: "How the hell am I supposed to feel?! I just got decked by a cross!!"
Samus now chuckled about her stupidity.
This time, she would win against him. She had a strategy.
The day started out with an exhilarating match between MegaMan and Palutena. After Palu lost, all the other females gathered around her to tell her that she did amazing.
No one congratulated MegaMan except for the kids of the group, which Samus found quite funny.
Next up was Mr. Game and Watch vs. Duck Hunt. It was a very quiet match, which ended quickly after Duck Hunt blew Mr. Game and Watch off the stage with the use of dynamite.
A couple more matches went by, leaving Samus up next after the match between Meta Knight and Lucario.
Once Meta Knight was brought down to a fiery knock-out, Samus stood up and made her way to the stage teleporter.
Both Ritcher and Samus appeared on the floor of the Wii Fit Studio.
This is good. I can focus on him more now.
The match began.
Ritcher darted towards her, as she released an ass ton of missiles in his direction. Only a couple hit her target, but he wasn't too fazed by them, quickly hopping to his feet, and flinging a cross towards her.
It marred her in the back as it boomeranged around her. She spotted a floating platform, coming down from the sky.
This is my advantage.
She jumped up onto it, and then continued to shoot missiles at him. They each individually targeted him, and flew for him.
The vampire killer saw what the huntress was doing, and quickly lashed his whip around her armored ankle, pulling her down. Then, kicking her legs out form under her. Again, she was given an advantage. Samus quickly rolled herself up into her morph ball form, and then violently bounced up from underneath Ritcher. She shot up like one of Pikachu's attacks, shooting Ritcher through the air.
He landed with a great thump, but before he could gain his balance once more, she came charging at him again. However, she was slowed down by the rippling pain that ran through her side. She stumbled, but managed to power through it. And then with one tough head-butt to the gut, Ritcher went flying.
"The winner is.. Samus!"
The two returned through the teleporter.
"That was a good fight," Ritcher said, holding out his hand, "next time I won't lose though."
"We'll see about that." Samus said, taking his hand in a firm handshake.
After a few more battles, including Falcon's victory against Sonic, the day of battles ended. All the Smashers filed into the Mansion to get lunch.
Everyone had left the hallway and joined each other in the cafeteria.
Everyone except Samus, who was standing alone in the hallway. She was waiting for Falcon to return from doing Something with sonic.
He probably wanted to race against him.
Suddenly, she heard heavy footsteps walking towards her. She turned around, and met Falcon's gaze.
"What was that about?"
"He wanted to race me." He lightly boasted, smiling at her.
Knew it.
He then removed his helmet. Her emerald eyes met with his Atlantic eyes.
"Did you win?"
He stepped closer to her, gently brushing back some of her hair.
"Of course I did."
She smiled at him, noticing the attractive details in his face.
Before she knew it, his lips were pressed against her's. She slowly relaxed as his hand wrapped around her waist, leaving one gently holding her face.
Despite the glove separating her face from his skin, she could still feel the warmth.
He then leaned in a bit more, opening his mouth a bit, allowing her in. After a couple more minutes of exploration, Falcon moved onto her neck.
Samus wasn't not new to the sensation, but with Falcon, it felt different. She grasp onto his shoulders, bringing her chin up a bit.
Falcon had almost finished making his mark, when suddenly, he felt Samus tense up. He looked up at her face, and noticed her staring at something with horror in her eyes.
He slowly followed her gaze, only to tense up as well when he finally saw it.
Pit.
He had been standing there, mouth open in both disgust and shock.
He seemed smaller in his loose T-shirt, khaki shorts, and sandals.
Samus and Falcon exchanged quick looks, before abruptly separating.
"It's uh.. not what it looks like..." Falcon tried to convince.
"Falcon, what the hell. It's obviously what it looks like." Samus shot at him, hurriedly wiping off her neck.
"W-WHA.." Pit could only stammer.
"Pit, listen," Samus started towards him, "you can't tell anyone about thi-"
Pit quickly yelled, and tried to make a run for it, only to be caught by the frustrated bounty huntress.
"Kid listen. If you tell the others, Master Hand will surely have us punished!" Falcon tried to calm the kid down, as he struggled from Samus' grip.
"But! You guys-" he huffed between sentences within his struggle, "aren't-aren't supposed to be doing.. That Stuff-"
"We know! We know.." Samus shot back, "and we Realize now that it was a bad Idea."
Falcon rolled his eyes at her.
I can't believe I'm asking this, "is there something we can do to convince you not to tell anyone?"
Pit thought about this, then seemed to perk up.
"Can you teach me to read?"
Samus and Falcon both exchanged looks of confusion with each other, but then Falcon spoke up.
"Is that it?"
"Yeah. And also if you guys train with me more." The angel huffed, "and never do.. that.. again. Or at least somewhere private."
Samus let him go, and he looked at them again.
"I'm gonna go back to the tables, since I only came here looking for you guys. I'll tell them that you'll be joining us soon."
"Okay." The bounty hunters both replied in unison, still standing there like deer in the headlights.
"And don't get freaky again. Please." He begged.
The angel walked away, leaving them both alone again.
Samus then walked over to a wall, and banged her head against it.
"How could we've been so careless? And of course the person who witnessed it was the one kid who can't keep his mouth shut!"
Falcon walked over to her, resting a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"It's fine, if I teach the kid to read maybe he'll forget."
"Doubtful."
It was quiet for a moment before he spoke again.
"We should probably head out there. Pit will come looking for us again, and that can't look good."
"Yeah.. probably.."
There was a shared moment of silence.
"Hey.. Sam." Falcon murmured to her, "I've been meaning to ask you about something.."
"Go on.?"
"Lately I've been seeing you hesitate in fighting. Almost like somethings wrong, like you're hurt. I doubted myself for a while, until when we recently went to the beach, and I saw you holding your side like it hurt you.." he gave her a worried look, "are you okay?"
She didn't want to lie to him. And it was too late anyways. He had noticed and he won't give up until he found out what the problem was.
"It's just.. a stretched muscle." She replied, a bit hesitant.
He looked even more concerned now, placing his other hand on her shoulder.
"You know you can tell me anything, right?"
She nodded, and then he drew her into a gentle embrace.
"Let's go join the others."
The next day consisted of training.
But with every passing battle, Falcon grew more concerned about the state Samus was in. She occasionally walked away from the group to sit down, claiming that she just needed a break, or water. But he noticed her sitting down and trying to figure out what was wrong with her aching side.
He was trying to figure that out too.
"Samus, I'm starting to get seriously worried about you." Falcon stood next to the blonde, as she stretched her arms up.
"I'm sure it's nothing-"
"And I'm sure it's probably something." He cut in. "Here, let me see."
Samus hesitated, but then kept her arms up, and let Falcon gently lift up the one side of her tank top, revealing her side.
"Doesn't look like there's any physical marks or damage... could it be internal?"
"Maybe..? Look, Falcon. I don't think it's an issue."
"Yes. It is. You're clearly in pain, maybe go see Dr. Mario."
He stepped away from Samus, letting her smooth out her shirt.
"Are you sure it's as bad as you keep suggesting it is? I mean, you're not the one feeling it." She protested
"Samus-"
The gym doors swung open, causing Falcon, Samus, Peach and Link to stop what they were doing and look.
"Guys!" Pit yelled at them from the open doors, "The Battles list for the tournament is out!!"
This caused all of the smashers to completely drop what they were doing, and rush out of the gym.
It was annoyingly difficult to even get a glimpse of the list that was hung up on the bulletin board. The huge crowd of Smashers were more fierce then a hoard of wolves, desperately snatching at the lists so that they could see their fate.
Pit huffed, but then tried again to dive into the large crowd and get close enough to the board for at least a glimpse of the list.
Samus sighed, crossing her bare arms.
Suddenly, Peach came shoving out of the crowd, waving her arms frantically at them.
"Guys! I managed to get a list!"
Samus, Link, and Falcon gathered around the Princess as she held out the list for them to examine.
"Marth.." the Hylian sighed. He and the prince had been close, but they were also equally powerful. The fight could go on for hours.
"Hmmm, this should be fun!" Peach said, sounded pretty happy with her match up of Fox.
Samus scanned her eyes down the list.
Fox vs. Peach
Captain Falcon vs. Bowser
Yoshi vs. Pac-man...
She stopped.
Samus vs. Ridley
Samus stood there, grasping the paper. She felt a hand on her shoulder.
"I got Ridley." She said softly.
"You can't possibly fight him in your condition." Replied Falcon.
"I can't now, but I have a little less then a week to train."
"Samus, you gotta know when to stop. I feel like you're pushing yourself too much."
Samus looked up at his face.
"I'm going to train. Are you coming or are you not?"
Falcon's jaw clenched, then he sighed.
"Yeah, I'm going with you. I'll always go with you."
She gave a light smile, but then broke their stare by handing Pit, still gasping from being pushed around in the crowd, the list.
"Well, better get prepared guys!" Peach said enthusiastically.
