A couple chapters until the end, and it's only now hitting me. Aahhh! ₛₒ ₛₐ𝒹
I believe that I said that I might make a sequel to this one, but I'm still thinking about it. So I may or I may not.
Anyways, enjoy chapter 13~
After getting dressed into something more comfortable, Samus had her way to the cafeteria for dinner.
There were a decent amount of people there even though she was late.
Samus spotted the Racer and Pit in the corner of the room. Falcon was holding up a book and pointing at it, and Pit looked like he was taking noted of some kind.
The bounty huntress wanted to sit alone tonight. However that was never possible in this place.
Once she had found an empty table, she sat down. Only to be joined by Snake.
"Hey." He grumbled, but before she could reply he continued.
"Wii Fit wants a couple Smashers to try out her new 'obstacle course' that she made. I was somehow dragged into it. Wanna join me?"
Samus would normally decline in this situation, but she decided it would be a good opportunity to see if she was truly handicapped by this aching rib of hers.
"Sure. Why not?"
Snake looked surprised, but then got up.
"Cool. Guess I'll be seeing you tomorrow then." And with that he made his way towards a box that was sitting in the corner of the room.
Samus watched him crawl back into his small cardboard lair.
Talk about antisocial. He's the definition.
Samus then heard a heap of giggles and laughs from where Pit and Falcon were located. The Captain had obviously said something funny to trigger Pit and his weak humor.
Samus smiled.
Those are my boys, she mused under her breath.
Shaking her head, she took a sip of water.
When the sun came up, Samus once again tried to escape from its brightness.
Surprisingly, when she finally gave in, she wasn't alone in the room.
When the huntress sat up, she was jolted out of sleepiness by the Wii Fit Trainer who had somehow gotten into her locked room.
"What are you doing in here?" She asked, a bit bewildered.
"Snake told me that you were going to join us at the obstacle course. The others are out there waiting. You were late, so I decided to come wake you myself." She said in her cheerful yet bland tone.
Samus was half tempted to tell her that Snake had lost his shit and made it all up so that she could go back to sleep, but instead, she stood up.
"Alright, let me get on..." she gestured down at her bra and shorts, "something more.. and I'll be down, also, would you mind if I brought someone with me? Just to watch."
After Wii Fit left and Samus basically just activated her Varia suit, the huntress skipped breakfast and headed straight outside.
Once outside, Samus stared at the large contraption that they had been calling an obstacle course. Behind her stood a tired Nana, rubbing her eyes.
"Why do I have to get up this early, anyways?" She yawned, trailing after the bounty huntress.
Samus activated a part of the suit that allowed her to be heard without taking off her helmet,
"Because you're going to watch how I handle the situations I'm put in." She calmly replied.
Nana sighed, and then plopped down in the grass.
Samus walked over to the rest of the Smashers who had been pulled into the experiment.
She spotted Cloud, Pikachu, Luigi, Isabelle, Little Mac and of course, Snake.
Pikachu squealed in excitement when he saw her, and jumped into her metallic arms.
"So Wii Fit finally got you to wake up?" Snake asked sarcastically.
He couldn't see it, but Samus was rolling her eyes at him.
"Hey everyone! I'm so glad you could all make it here today." Came the cheery voice from Wii Fit.
She stood in front of them all, hands together. "What you see in front of you, is what you'll all be experimenting with today."
It was long, enormous, well-built, and dangerous. There were multiple mini obstacles running along it, like swinging blades, and steep ramps. Cloud seemed to be eyeing up a huge swinging mallet.
"Who wants to go first? After the first person, we might extend the person limit to two."
After Little Mac volunteered, the Smashers all stood together to watch.
The boxer made his way through the obstacles one by one, stumbling at the bottom of one of the steep ramps. Once he finally reached the top, he narrowly missed a tough smack-down from one of Cloud's swinging mallets. He looked as if he was proud of himself for dodging it, but as soon as he stepped forward to continue, three others came at him and pounded hard into his side, shooting him away.
The smashers watched in horror as he disappeared into the horizon. Snake only looked down at the ground, but Isabelle looked like she wanted to straight up quite.
"Now we will have two people at a time try. Who wants to go next?" Wii Fit asked, not even a little concerned about the boxer's disappearance.
Samus decided that it was best to just get it over with, so she raised her hand. Unfortunately, Cloud had the same idea.
"You two?" Wii Fit asked, "well alright then. Step right up and see if you can pass."
The swordsman and the bounty huntress stood at the start.
"Ready, set, go!" Wii Fit calmly made a moving gesture with her hand, as if signaling for them to go.
They were off.
They both slid past the swinging blades, keeping their eyes ahead the entire time.
This is easier then I thought it was going to be, Samus thought as she leapt over a large amount of darkened liquid.
She was now ahead of Cloud, coming up next was a steep ramp.
Samus was easily able to scale it, and so was Cloud. But they both braced themselves for what came next.
The swinging mallets.
Cloud seemed to be trying to figure how he would do this differently then Little Mac, but Samus already knew what she was going to do.
She quickly folded into her Morph ball, and started Rolling. Unfortunately, Cloud had started running as well, and tripped on Samus.
At first it seemed like a slight stumble, but once she accidentally rolled under him again, he staggered to the end of the mallet obstacle, bringing Samus with him.
It was then revealed that there was another large dip at the end of the mallet platform, and the two went plummeting down onto hard wood, limbs tangled up.
Samus heard laughing coming from the group of watchers. She felt bad for Could. She had probably bruised him with he metallic get-up.
"Well done," Wii Fit lightly clapped her hands, "you got a bit past where Little Mac failed. It's a start."
While the two tried to figure out how they could detangle their arms and legs, the next pairing went up.
Once free, Samus wondered over to Nana, who was giggling.
Samus removed her helmet, "thanks for the encouragement."
Nana slapped her leg, "I'm sorry, it's just- you didn't even scream when you fell. I could only hear your suit tumbling down the ramp-" she laughed some more, while Samus scared at her with distain.
"We should probably go get lunch."
Samus sat at a table with Link, Peach, and Nana.
The cafeteria was surprisingly empty. It would probably be jam-packed by the time she was done eating.
"So what did you learn today?" Samus asked before biting into a sandwich.
"Literally nothing." Responded the ice climber in a rude tone.
They all looked over to see what the Huntress' reaction would be, but she just sank further into her chair, sandwich sticking out of her mouth.
She then pulled the sandwich out of her mouth and replied.
"Well in that case I should probably stop teaching you."
"N-no! I uh... I actually learned not to... run into people with your morph.. ball?.." Nana desperately tried to find something to say, but Samus only snickered.
"I'm just kidding kid," she joked, "I won't give up on you that easily."
"Okay good." Nana exhaled, scooted her chair out, "I gotta go grab something, I'll be right back!"
As she walked off, Samus' face returned to a grim daze.
"Damn, I really thought that was my way out." She groaned.
"Samus!" Peach fused, "She'll grow on you, just give her some more time!"
"No, it's not her, it's having to get up earlier then I already do.." Samus wasn't normally this bitchy, but today she felt like shit.
Probably failing that stupid obstacle course in front of everyone.
"Hey, does anyone know where Falcon is?" Samus asked, sitting up.
"Why do you wanna know?" Peach purred.
Samus just stared at her, before she broke.
"He went to train a bit in the gym since he's going against Bowser," She finally answered, "and since you're going against someone as equally powerful, you probably should too."
Samus felt for her side, a bit sore. She couldn't join Falcon at the gym because he only worry about her.
"Maybe another time." She replied, a bit distant.
Peach and Link exchanged looks.
"Samus, the tournament is like... a day away. What other time is there gonna be?"
Samus shot up right. "Huh?!"
I thought the tournament was a couple days away, holy shit where have I been?
"Guess you're right. Gotta go." She got up and sprinted away from the table.
Samus made her way towards the doors of the mansion.
I guess I will be joining Falcon after all.
A couple hours. A couple hours was all she had to hold out.
She could do it.
Samus entered the gym, ignoring the throb that came from below.
"Hey!" Greeted the Captain from the other side of the room. He had Pit with him.
Great, is he just like our kid now or something?
She walked over to the two males, and sat down on a large mat.
"Let's take a break." Suggesting Falcon. Pit nodded in agreement, sitting cross legged on the ground.
"So what's up? Did you need something?" The racer asked, sitting down next to her.
"Nope. Just needed to get some practice in before tomorrow." She stretched.
There was a moment of silence, but then, to Samus' dismay, Pit spoke up.
"So.. since you two are like.. a thing, do you give each other pet names?"
Falcon sat there for a moment, taking the question in, then he answered.
"No..?"
"Awh, hell no." Came Samus' reply.
"Really?" Pit cocked his head, "not even like.. one?"
The two hunters sat there for a minute before Falcon spoke again.
"What do you think we would call each other, even?"
Pit thought about this for a moment, before perking up.
"CapriSun and salmon!"
Silence.
"What the hell?"
Pit made an explanatory hand gesture
"Ya know? Like CapriSun and Captain Falcon sound similar and so does Salmon and Samus.. you get me?"
Falcon shook in head. "Nope. And I don't think I ever will."
This is what we get for letting the only person who knows about our relationship be a kid.
"Aight well, I didn't come here to talk about high-sugared drinks and seafood." Samus huffed, standing up.
"Samus is right." Falcon stood up as well, "we have until tomorrow, so we'd better use our time wisely."
