It's a hard knock life
Emiya's transition into the damaged timeline was different from all the other times he had been sent to ensure that the balance between Gaia and Alaya remained. Almost all of these transitions had taken an instant and he was always transported to a secluded closed off area. That gave him time to take in his surroundings.
This time the transition into the damaged timeline took ages, he could actually feel the festering rot of the timeline attempting to corrupt his spiritual core. He had only encountered this once before, this was in an alternate timeline where in he faced off against an altered form of himself he could feel the same perverse rot that came from his alternate timeline self. However, this time the rot surrounded him, the rot did not seem content with that though as it began to burrow into his red protective mantle.
Just as he could feel the corrosive rot melt through to his spiritual core he was spat out into the material plane. He shot straight down with such great speed that it caused a crater to form around him. The force of the crash knocked Emiya out cold.
He could barely keep his eyes open, his whole body was sore and as he looked at his bare body covered in called out but the voice that came from his throat was not his own it was much higher and less coarse but the words he spoke were very familiar to him.
The voice called out for Saber, the image of the king of knights in her casual attire seemed to give comfort to the exhausted Emiya.
The voice kept calling out but the king did not appear. The room he was in was painfully familiar. The matting, the paper sliding door and the smell of Sakura's cooking permeated the entire Emiya household.
Just as he began to continue to enjoy the memory of his old home Emiya felt the butt of a rifle smack across his face knocking him back into reality which was a poorly lit dilapidated room where his arms were tied and a group of strange people began adjusting his position so he would kneel at his captors feet.
"We don't get a lot of yer kind round here. Silver eyes and hair'll make a big buck at the slave market." the one holding the weapon that had been used to bludgeon him said proudly as he racked the bolt on the poorly maintained rifle.
Emiya, using his enhanced vision , and hearing could tell there were about twenty four pairs of feet shuffling around the building, five of which were in the room he was in. Aside from the man who had hit him with his rifle most of them seemed to not be armed aside from small switchblades and pool cues. All he needed was a distraction and he could take out these five people then find out where the hell he was.
As he was preparing an elaborate plan the building shook violently as dust began to shake loose off of the damaged roof onto the floor as a wild explosion turned the attention of all five of his captors away from him.
He sprang into action, driving his knee into the man with a rifle as he jumped forward knocking him into the ground, the audible snap of bones calling the attention of the man's companions.
Emiya simply flexed his magically enhanced muscles to tear the rope which one could barely consider yarn because of how frayed it was causing his remaining threats to draw their ramshackle weapons. But Emiya was far faster, he closed the distance between him and a girl with a purple mohawk grabbing her arm as she reached for her switchblade and in one smooth motion snapped her arm to the point that the splintered bones jagged spire tore through her flesh causing her to scream as blood founted. Within the same motion he threw the switch blade into the wide eyes of a slightly singed man caught in a state of horror at what the man had dont to his friends. The unopened blade flew so fast that even without it's cutting edge it tore through the eye into the man's brain causing him to fall over.
The remaining two tried to fight back using their pool cues in an attempt to ward off the Counter Guardian only for their weapons to break upon impacting his imposing physique.
Now weaponless they knelt pools of urine began forming around them.
"If you want to live, do not pursue me. "Emiya said to the two remaining raiders who seemed content cowering in fear as Emiya picked up the rifle and munitions from the heavily injured man that had hit him.
The rifle was an AKM or a derivative design produced by the former USSR's allied nations. But the weapon looked barely functioning, duct tape and adhesives used to make sure parts that didn't need to move were held in place while the bolt and action scrapped against each other when EMIYA racked back the bolt to inspect the chamber.
Its as if the weapon was a holdover from before the nuclear armageddon that left this earth a desolate wasteland, he moved through the desolate building using his magecraft to enhance his sense of hearing and touch to allow him to hear the beating hearts of the remaining members of the group who kidnapped him and to remain light footed as to not alert them.
As he drew in the mana from the world around him he could feel the sickness Gaia had been suffering .Unlike the free flowing clean mana of most timelines the mana from this world was stagnant and sick as if the nuclear holocuast tainted the mana flow of the world.
He moved silently and quickly across what he soon realised was a ruined supermarket using his enhanced hearing to zero in on the beating hearts of anyone inside.
The bodies of these people were sickly and malnourished as he could tell that their hearts were beating irregularly, nevertheless they were hostile so he had to put them down hard.
Most never even saw what had taken their lives; the few that did only saw a red mist dash into their vision before EMIYA used the immense strength of a heroic spirit to put down anyone who tried to resist.
He hated killing these sick individuals but they were not likely to surrender and letting them live with severe injuries would just lead to a slow and painful death so this was the compromise he had arrived at.
As he was moving swiftly and silently through the crumbling building he sensed a new heart beat enter the building. It was healthy and aside from a slight elevation due to an active adrenal system it was normal. But he wasn't the only one to notice he could hear the remaining foes shout out that someone had broken into the building.
With that EMIYA could sense that the disorganised rabble he had been taking apart began to mass at the entrance of the building. He quickly dashed to see what they were fighting Taking a position a top an empty food shelf he could pick out the similar clothes that enemies he had been facing were wearing all ramshackle and pieced together from whatever they could find but it gave them a distinct look that identified them as members of some organised group.
While the one they were surrounding was a young woman with blonde hair tied into a bun ,armed only with a handgun wearing a blue jumpsuit with some reinforced leather pieces she was pinned down by the volume of fire coming from an array of weapons.
EMIYA was quick to act dashing across the shelves to help the young woman, he tore through the ranks of his foes this time using the weapon he had obtained firing with lethal accuracy his AKM tore through exposed flesh causing gaping exit wounds to gush out gore across the market.
He had emptied the remains of the magazine far faster than he expected, quickly tossing the empty weapon aside hearing only three hostile heart beats he leaped towards them, his movements swift and devastating as he tore apart the last of them.
The final one he held in vice, lifting him up by his throat, he tried to beg but EMIYA's grip was far too strong for him to makeout any pleas for mercy. He held him for almost half a minute before the audible crunch of bone reverberated through the silent market and his body went limp.
As he turned to attend to the woman he had saved a shot rang out the bullet hitting EMIYA in the back his body armour taking the brunt of the blow but he wasn't expecting to be hit by anything so he was knocked on the ground forced to look up at his unseen assailant.
As he looked upon her it's as if time had run back all the way to a forgotten memory of a boy in a shed staring at a beautiful knight with her green eyes and blonde hair.
Her hands were shaking from the adrenaline and fear in her system but as she calmed down the two locked gazes.
EMIYA was sure of it these were the same green eyes that he'd seen before but the woman gave him a strange cold look as if she felt that his familiar gaze made her uncomfortable.
