Pokémon Crimson Gold
Chapter 53: Battling with impossibility
Ethan had left Mahogany to return back to Goldenrod to meet with his father, Allen, who had just returned from a trip in the Hoenn region. It had been about two days since he had left and he was already nearing Ecruteak, meaning he was about five days away from his destination.
It was about three in the afternoon and Ethan had just encountered another Trainer.
"Hi, my name is Justin, would you mind having a Pokémon battle with me please?" A boy asked, he looked like he was a few years younger than Ethan. They were in a forest clearing and had made eye contact, meaning they'd have to battle.
"Sure thing!" Ethan agreed. "I don't mind."
"Bay!" Bayleef said wanting to battle.
"Thanks, alright well I'll show you my Pokémon first!" The boy said bringing out his Pokéball. "Go, Sparkles!"
From his Pokéball came a short, chubby mouse-like Pokémon. It had yellow fur with two horizontal brown stripes on its back. It had long pointed ears with black tips and black eyes. Its cheeks had adorable red circles on it and its tail was in a lightning bolt shape.
"Pika Pika!" The mouse Pokémon cried out.
"Oh wow! A Pikachu!" Ethan exclaimed excitedly. "It's so cute, I've always wanted one!"
"I know right, my brother got me Sparkles straight from the famous Viridian Forest in Kanto!" Justin gloated.
"Pika Pikachu!" Pikachu said with static electricity jolting from its cheeks.
"Let's see what the Pokédex has on Pikachu..." Ethan said checking up on its Pokédex entry.
"Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. This intelligent Pokémon roasts hard berries with electricity to make them tender enough to eat."
"Bay Bay!" Bayleef said nudging on Ethan's jacket, trying to tell Ethan she wanted to battle.
"Bayleef, I actually kind of wanted to test out another Pokémon here, do you mind?" Ethan asked his starter.
She looked sad for a second then nodded her head cheerfully.
"Thanks girl." Ethan said.
"So, who will it be then!?" The kid asked.
"If you're going to use a rare Pokémon from the Kanto region then so will I, go Eevee!" Ethan said throwing his Pokéball.
"Eee, Eevee!" Eevee barked landing in front of Ethan.
"Wow the evolution Pokémon Eevee, that's really cool!" Justin shrieked. "But me and Sparkles won't lose this."
"Eevee, let's do our best!" Ethan said to his Pokémon.
"Eevee!" She agreed. Forming a battle stance.
"Okay, we'll start with Quick Tackle!" Justin yelled.
Pikachu sped for Eevee with tremendous speed, but Eevee leaped over Pikachu dodging it.
"Let's go Eevee! Use Swift!" Ethan yelled.
Eevee swung her tail blasting the Pikachu with many starts, hurling Pikachu flat on its face.
"Sparkles!" Justin yelled concerned.
"Pi, Pika Pi!" Pikachu said getting back up.
"Good, now go ahead and use Thunderbolt!" Justin ordered.
Pikachu lit with electricity and tried to blast Eevee, but she was simply too fast as she leapt from side to side dodging the bolt.
"Now use Quick Attack of your own!" Ethan yelled.
Eevee sped for Pikachu with the added power of Quick Attack at Mach speeds.
"That's nothing Sparkles. Show it your true power, Volt Tackle!" Justin commanded.
"Volt Tackle?" Ethan questioned not at all familiar with the move.
"Pika Pika Pika Pika!" Pikachu bellowed while running at Eevee with similar speed. But to Ethan's surprise, Pikachu was completely enveloped in electricity, a terrifying move. Each step it took cracked the ground beneath it.
"Ee-Eevee!?" Eevee said shocked by the move.
"Uh-oh, anticipate it and dodge it Eevee!" Ethan yelled.
Once Eevee was in two-meter range to the Pikachu, she leaped to the side. Using Swift once again she bashed into the side of Pikachu, sending the Mouse Pokémon flying.
"Nice thinking fast Eevee!" Ethan exclaimed to his proud Pokémon.
"Eevee!" She said happily.
"Sparkles!" Justin yelled as he caught his Pokémon from midair in his arms.
"Pika... Pika..." It said, still conscious but unable to continue battling.
"Y-you did great Sparkles, thanks for battling as always..." Justin said returning Pikachu to his Pokéball.
"Your Pikachu really was amazing kid. You should be proud of it." Ethan told the boy trying to make him feel better.
"I know he is but still, I can see you have seven badges. I probably should have held off before challenging a great Trainer like you." Justin praised.
Great Trainer? Ethan thought surprised.
"Here, your prize money." The kid said handing Ethan a wad of cash.
"Why, why don't you keep it." Ethan suggested.
"Huh, but you won." Justin said continuing to try and hand Ethan the cash.
"No no, honestly your respect is enough for me. Really." Ethan said, making the kid put away his money.
"Alright then, see you around!" He exclaimed as he ran off happily.
"Bay!" Bayleef said, wondering why Ethan didn't take the money.
"He, he called me a great Trainer. I don't think I've ever gotten that much recognition on my entire journey so far. Or just in life in general." Ethan said rubbing the back of his neck. "A-anyways good work today Eevee!"
"Eevee!" Eevee smiled, she ran up to Ethan and nuzzled her head against his leg.
"Hey, that tickles!" Ethan laughed, but it was interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching.
"Well, well, well, I thought it was you." A voice Ethan recalled heard.
Eevee looked up in horror and took two steps back, upon seeing the scared look on his Pokémon's face Ethan turned to see what was up.
He had long slick blond hair and wore a headband with a Pokéball print. Ethan instantly recognized the bastard before him.
"Ethan, it really you!" The guy said in a mocking voice.
"Jacob..." Ethan muttered before him. To be frank, this man was Eevee's original Trainer, the one who had inflicted so much pain upon her. Ethan had to rescue Eevee from him shortly after he left Goldenrod to get to Ecruteak his first time there.
Eevee quickly hid behind Ethan's leg, wanting no part to do her with her abuser. It was then when Jacob noticed her.
"Holy shit. That Eevee, my Eevee." Jacob snickered. "And you didn't even evolve his sorry ass!"
"Her not him." Ethan corrected.
"Pfft, whatever!" Jacob scoffed.
Bayleef leapt in front of Ethan and Eevee, in case Jacob tried to pull something. Last time he pulled a knife on Ethan, and she had protected him.
"And that's that Bayleef, the one that hurled me back when you stole my Pokémon from me!" Jacob said, almost sounding angry.
"Bay!" Bayleef barked, warning Jacob to stay away.
"Hey, relax. I don't wanna fight you, I just want to battle you. Settle the score between us." Jacob said pulling out a Pokéball.
"Well I don't want to battle you!" Ethan yelled before turning back to his Eevee and pulling out a Pokéball. "Eevee, return to your Pokéball, you shouldn't have to ever have to see that jerk ever again."
Eevee nodded, wanting to be returned to her Pokéball.
"Yeah, go back and run away! Like you always did, coward!" Jacob yelled at his previous Pokémon.
Upon hearing that Eevee felt anger surge within her, she leapt in front of Ethan and Bayleef, barking at Jacob.
"Eevee?" Ethan said surprised, putting away her Pokéball.
"Bay!?" Bayleef said, trying to tell Eevee she doesn't have to do this.
Eevee turned her head and shook no, she wanted to have a battle.
"Well then. Seems Eevee really wants to battle me, how could you say no to that?" Jacob snarled.
"Eevee, you don't have to. He caused you so much trouble, if you like I can just have Bayleef or someone battle instead." Ethan told her.
"Eevee!" She said, determined to battle.
"I still can't get over that he hasn't evolved!" Jacob laughed. "You'd be better off using one of your evolved Pokémon like Bayleef or that Flaaffy you had."
"You should know Eevee's just as strong as any of my other evolved Pokémon. You'll see!" Ethan declared, making Jacob chuckle.
"Hmph, very funny. Then I'll show you my Pokémon. Go Jolteon!" Jacob said throwing his Pokéball.
Jolteon was a mammalian Pokémon covered in yellow fur with a spiky fringe around its tail with a white ruff around its neck. Its ears were large with pointed black interiors, and its eyes and small nose were a deep black color. It had slender legs fit for an athletic Pokémon.
"Jolt, Jolteon!" Jolteon said surging with electricity. Eevee began to lose her tough front and became a bit intimidated by the Pokémon's rough appearance.
"That Pokémon. Isn't it an evolution of Eevee?" Ethan wondered. "How did you get another one so fast!?"
"Hmm, looks like I've just got better luck than you. And unlike that useless Eevee your using mine is evolved, no way an unevolved Eevee can beat one of its evolutions! It's impossible." Jacob said confidently.
Ethan hated to admit it. But deep down he understood what Jacob meant. He couldn't forget how Eevee had lost to Pryce's Glaceon during their battle the other day, but he tried to ignore it.
"Let's see what the Pokédex has to say on it." Ethan said looking up Jolteon's Pokédex entry.
"Jolteon, the Lightning Pokémon. It concentrates the weak electric charges emitted by its cells and launches wicked lightning bolts."
"I saw earlier how you battled with that Pikachu, well just know it has nothing on my Jolteon!" Jacob laughed.
"Jolt. Jolteon!" Jolteon said giving Eevee the evil eye.
"Don't give in to the intimidation factor Eevee, you're stronger than you know!" Ethan encouraged.
"Bay Bay!" Bayleef said cheering her little friend on.
"We'll go on the offensive, Jolteon use Thunder Fang!" Jacob commanded. With that Jolteon leaped across its ground with its mouth wide opened pulsed with electricity.
"Dodge it Eevee then hit it with Quick Attack!" Ethan yelled.
Eevee just barely dodged the blow by leaping back then used her already found momentum to smash the Jolteon with Quick Attack bashing it in its head.
Jolteon slid across the battlefield before recovering with not much damage taken.
"Jolt!" It barked.
"Now Jolteon, Thunder!" Jacob commanded.
Jolteon blasted a huge fire of electricity at Eevee, that even surpassed Ampharos's Thunderbolt.
"Woah! Reflect it Eevee!" Ethan yelled. Eevee quickly brang up her shield sending the bolt back to Jolteon making a direct hit.
Jolteon stood still taking no damage from the attack. It hurt no less than a tickle.
"But how!?" Ethan freaked.
"It's Jolteon's ability, Volt Absorb!" Jacob told Ethan with his arms crossed. "There's not a single electric type move in the world that could hurt my Jolteon, it just makes him stronger!"
"Don't let it get to you Eevee, use Dig!" Ethan yelled, going for Super effective damage.
Eevee quickly dug into the ground, making Jacob smirk.
"Weak, now Jolteon, leap over there to the hole!" Jacob yelled.
Jolteon leaped over to wear Eevee had dug and stood over it.
"Don't tell me it's going to!" Ethan gasped.
"Thunder into it!" Jacob demanded.
"Jolteon!" The Lightning Pokémon howled as it sent a jolt of electricity down the hole Eevee had dug.
"Eevee out of there now!" Ethan screamed.
It was too late as Eevee broke out the ground screaming being electrocuted by a jolt of electricity.
"This isn't good..." Ethan fret.
Eevee fell before Ethan damaged, struggling to get up.
"Now, Thunder Fang!" Jacob commanded.
Jolteon lunged at Eevee once again forming static electricity in its jaw.
"No!" Ethan yelled turning and closing his eyes.
Eevee tried to dodge, but it was too late. She was bit in the neck by Jolteon causing a large explosion.
"Bay!" Bayleef gasped.
Ethan looked up to see Eevee being tossed through the air from the explosion.
"Eevee I'm coming!" Ethan yelled as he caught his injured Pokémon from the air.
"Ee... Eevee..." She said, with a tear in her eye.
"I know girl, I know..." Ethan said hugging his Pokémon. "It's alright now I promise."
"It lost that fast, it hasn't gotten any stronger at all has it!" Jacob chuckled as he returned his Jolteon to its Pokéball.
"Eevee don't listen to him, he's wrong." Ethan told his Pokémon, who finally stopped crying.
"That was just a waste of time, like I said no way an Eevee that hasn't evolved can beat one of its evolutions." Jacob lectured.
"I think differently." Ethan said, making Jacob chuckle once again.
"You really are a fool, if you're so insistent on that then why don't we have a rematch?" Jacob suggested.
"A rematch?" Ethan said.
Eevee looked back at Jacob surprised he suggested that.
"Yeah, a rematch." Jacob said pulling something out from his bag. "But I recommend you use this." He said throwing something at Ethan.
Bayleef caught the something with her Vine Whip and gave it to Ethan who gently set down Eevee to take a look at it.
In his hands was a peculiar orange stone, it radiated warmth like a flame.
"Isn't this... an evolutionary stone?" Ethan finally asked.
"Eevee?" Eevee said backing away from the stone just being near it made her feel like she could evolve.
"Yup. Particularly the Fire stone, pop it on Eevee and it'll evolve into a Flareon!" Jacob said. "My new Eevee evolved into a Jolteon with a Thunder stone, and since I happened to have a Fire stone on me figure you can take it."
"Why are you giving this to me!?" Ethan asked in a demanding tone.
"Isn't it obvious, I want to have a good battle, we'll have a rematch tomorrow, my Jolteon versus your Flareon." He spoke. "Or if you don't want to evolve your weak Eevee for whatever reason then we'll just have fun beating your Eevee to a pulp."
Eevee again back behind Ethan's leg, Ethan took notice of this.
"My Eevee's anything but weak. We'll have that rematch tomorrow, and I promise we'll win!" Ethan yelled.
"Meet me in this same spot at the crack of dawn. We'll see if you can live up to your promise." Jacob said as he took his leave laughing.
Eevee looked down at the ground, embarrassed at how wimpy she looked.
"It's alright Eevee. You did great, like I said, we're going to win that battle tomorrow." Ethan said kneeling down to his sad Pokémon.
"E-Eevee." She said still sad.
"Hey, cheer up. You were very brave, facing up to Jacob like that." Ethan said petting her scalp. "I'm so glad to have you on my team, Eevee."
Eevee finally smiled and let out a cute bark. Ethan smiled.
"Alright, now let's get straight to Training, what do you say!?" Ethan asked Eevee.
"Eevee!" She agreed. She ran ahead of Ethan a bit happier now.
"Bayleef, go help Eevee train for a minute, why don't you two spar?" Ethan asked his starter.
"Bay!" Bayleef agreed following behind Eevee.
Ethan took one last glance at the Fire stone Jacob had handed him, he put it in his pocket and ignored it for now.
….
Ethan had trained Eevee for a good few hours before they all decided to get some rest. At about six in the morning they would have to face with Jacob and his Jolteon again, so they all went to sleep at about ten at night.
Ethan slept in his tent with Togetic in his arm. Bayleef slept besides him and so did Ampharos, but when Ethan woke up he didn't see Eevee anywhere.
"E-Eevee!?" Ethan said half opening his eyes. Usually she slept in his other arm but was completely gone.
Ethan gently set Togetic down and luckily the egg Pokémon didn't wake up. Ethan sat up and got out of his tent.
Near them was Gyarados, who slept outside the tent of course far too big to sleep in it, Gyarados was already awake and greeted Ethan.
"Hey Gyarados! Have you seen where Eevee went." Ethan asked. "Come to think of it Heracross is gone too."
Gyarados shook his head no, Heracross was gone by the time he had woke up,
Hold on, Heracross used to have a bit of a crush on Eevee. Don't tell me they've been dating secretly behind my back. Ethan took a second to consider, but then brushed it off.
"Well, since you're already awake, mind helping me find them?" Ethan asked.
Gyarados nodded his head yes and towered over trees in order to search for them.
"Eevee! Heracross!" Ethan yelled trying to get them to hear his voice and come over there.
After not to long Gyarados came back to Ethan pointing his head in the direction of Ethan's missing Pokémon.
"Thanks boy! You're a great help!" Ethan told Gyarados as he ran off to go find the two.
Ethan ran for through some trees before finding his two missing Pokémon training together near a river.
"Heracross!" Heracross yelled as he rushed towards Eevee with a Close Combat attack prepared.
Eevee dodged each punch swiftly as Heracross threw his fists and responded with bashing Heracross with Quick Attack headbutting him in the face. Heracross went flying back before he landed back on his feet.
"Hera Hera!" Heracross said approving of Eevee's skills.
"So, you guys have been here training!?" Ethan said finally revealing his presence.
Eevee and Heracross both turned to Ethan and stopped battling, turning to their Trainer.
"Thank you for helping Eevee train Heracross, I appreciate the help." Ethan said patting Heracross on his head.
"Heracross!" Heracross said smiling.
"Why don't you two get some sleep. Especially you Eevee, your big match is tomorrow at daylight." Ethan asked.
Eevee shook her head no, wanting to continue training.
"Eevee..." Ethan said.
"Eevee Eevee!" She barked. She had scuff marks from training with Heracross, but it seemed effective.
Ethan pulled from his bag the Fire stone, upon seeing it Eevee took two steps back startled.
"Jacob gave me this as I'm sure you remember..." Ethan spoke.
Eevee nodded her head in understanding, she thought she knew was going to say.
"He said if I give you this stone it'll let you evolve, and it'll be a much more even match, and that it's impossible for an unevolved Eevee to beat one of its evolutions." Ethan said, gripping the Fire stone tight.
Eevee walked up to Ethan and put her front legs on his standing on her hind legs trying to reach for the Fire stone. She didn't like it but she knew it was time for her to evolve.
"Heracross Hera!" Heracross said trying to tell Eevee to think a little about it first.
"Hmph, I don't like the idea of it!" Ethan said tossing the Fire stone into the river, which surprised both Eevee and Heracross.
"Eevee?" She said confused.
"If I have to listen to the advice of that prick then I'm not fit to be a Trainer, I'd rather hang up my hat than beat him using his method." Ethan said making Eevee smile. "Like I said, we're going to beat Jacob and his Jolteon without evolving!"
"Eevee!" Eevee said jumping up, she leaped on Ethan's shoulder and kissed him on the cheek, making Ethan chuckle.
"He-Heracross." Heracross said, a bit jealous.
"Alright Eevee, we'll continue training till morning!" Ethan said. "Heracross, you can go and help us if you'd like!"
"Hera!" Heracross saluted.
"Alright, let's do this!" Ethan exclaimed.
….
It was about seven in the morning and Jacob had waited patiently in the same spot as yesterday for an extra hour than he promised, annoying him. It was then from behind him Ethan finally came.
"You're late." Jacob said turning around with Pokéball in hand.
"Sorry, me and Eevee were getting in some training, we lost track of time." Ethan told Jacob, by his side was his Bayleef and on his shoulder was Eevee who had a confident look on her face.
"Eevee!" She growled at Jacob, who upon seeing her laughed.
"Don't tell me! You haven't evolved Eevee into Flareon, are you crazy!?" Jacob said. "Boy are you as stubborn as you are soft."
"Eevee doesn't need to evolve to defeat your Jolteon. She has it in her, you're about to find out. Right?" Ethan said to the fox Pokémon.
"Ee, Eevee!" She agreed, leaping from Ethan's shoulder to the ground and forming a battle stance.
"You better pray you're right. Alright Jolteon, stand by for battle!" Jacob said throwing his Pokéball.
"Jolt Jolteon!" Jolteon exclaimed before landing in front of his Trainer. He took one glance at Eevee and smirked, Eevee returned his gaze.
"Heracross come on out!" Ethan said releasing him from his Pokéball.
"Heracross!" Heracross said upon being withdrawn.
"You helped Eevee train, so I figure you'd like to watch the battle." Ethan said to the bug type.
"Hera!" Heracross nodded. He went by Bayleef and observed.
"Jolteon, we'll start with Thunder!" Jacob ordered. Jolteon lit with electricity and sent a zap at Eevee.
"Eevee dodge!" Ethan yelled.
Eevee jumped dodging the electricity, at an even faster speed than she was at yesterday.
"Thunder Fang quick!" Jacob yelled.
Jolteon leaped to Eevee with the attack prepared, but Eevee dodged it once again. Causing Jolteon's jaw to slam to the ground.
"Now Quick Attack!" Ethan yelled, Eevee listened and at full speed slammed into Jolteon sending it slamming back.
"Jolt-Jolteon!" It muttered.
"It's weak Jolteon, hit it with a Super effective Double Kick!" Jacob yelled.
Jolteon leaped and tried to smash Eevee with its hind legs, but Eevee dodged it.
"Not so fast, paralyze it with Thunder Wave!" Jacob screamed.
"Huh, Thunder Wave!?" Ethan said.
Jolteon's eyes lit up fierce as it blasted Eevee with a jolt of electricity, it didn't appear to hurt it physically, but it managed to keep it in place as Eevee couldn't move.
"Ee-Eevee!" She struggled.
"Now Double Kick ought to work!" Jacob yelled. Jolteon used the move on the paralyzed Eevee, sending her flying back to Ethan.
"Bay!" Bayleef gasped.
"Hera!?" Heracross said.
"Eevee!" Ethan yelled in concern.
Before Eevee could land on the ground she caught herself in midair and landed on all fours, letting out a roar.
"So Eevee got a little bit stronger, but it doesn't matter!" Jacob claimed. "She may be just a little faster than Jolteon but Jolteon is way stronger and twice as durable!"
"Jolt!" Jolteon barked.
"Come and prove it then!" Ethan said beckoning his hand at Jolteon.
"Jolteon! Thunder!" Jacob roared.
Jolteon lit up once more and sent a strong blast of lightning at Eevee to which she leaped over soaring in midair.
"Now Swift!" Ethan yelled, Eevee swung her tail sending many stars at the Jolteon.
"Dodge them all!" Jacob screamed.
Jolteon leaped from foreword, backwards, and side to side dodging the stars.
"Now Quick Attack!" Ethan yelled.
Eevee quickly landed to the ground on her feet before charging back at Jolteon who was still dodging, bashing it in the gut sending it flying back.
"Jolteon!" Jacob screamed. "Get up! You will not lose here!"
"J-Jolteon!" It struggled while getting up.
"Now Thunder Fang!" Jacob commanded.
Jolteon once again pounced for Eevee with the Thunder Fang, making Ethan smile.
"Dig, just as we practiced!" Ethan yelled.
"Dig!?" Jacob laughed. "I can just have Jolteon use Thunder to blast it from within just like last time, man are you a fool!"
However it was no ordinary Dig. Eevee dug up chunks of rock hurling them at the shocked Jolteon and inflicting Super effective damage.
"J-Jolteon..." The Lightning Pokémon cried as it lied on the floor defeated.
"We... actually lost!?" Jacob panicked, almost pulling his hair out.
"Bay!" Bayleef shouted overjoyed Eevee won.
"Hera Hera!" Heracross said just as excited.
Eevee went and leaped in Ethan's arms giving him a big hug. Ethan held her close.
"Thank you Eevee, I'm so proud of you girl you won! I knew you could do it!" Ethan said he gently set her on the ground and pat behind her ears.
Eevee looked up at Ethan and couldn't hide the smile on her face.
"Ee, Eevee!" She exclaimed excitedly. It was then when she began to glow white.
"Woah!" Ethan said covering his eyes from the brightness, he finally looked back to realize what was happening.
Jacob's mouth was wide open. "It's... evolving without a stone!?"
"Bay Bay!" Bayleef said excitedly.
"Heracross!?" Heracross said in awe.
The light left Eevee, and she had now grown much in size. She was covered in fine, lilac fur, her ears were now large, and she had purple eyes with white pupils. She had a small red gem embedded on her forehead and had a think, forked tail. Overall having a much more feline like appearance now.
"Espeon." She purred, brushing her head on Ethan's leg.
"Eevee, you actually managed to evolve. This is awesome, and we still managed to defeat Jolteon even before, so just imagine how strong you are now!" Ethan said kneeling down next to her.
"Espeon!" She agreed.
Ethan took out his Pokédex to scan the newly evolved Eevee.
"Espeon, the Sun Pokémon. It uses the fine hair that covers its body to sense air currents and predict its enemy's actions."
Bayleef and Heracross huddled around Espeon to see their newly evolved partner in all her glory, they both excitedly danced around her.
"Err..." Jacob groaned as he raised his Pokéball. "Jolteon return. You useless Pokémon!"
Ethan looked up dropping the happy look on his face. "You haven't learned a damn thing have you, you're still hyper aggressive to your Pokémon even though they just try and please you!"
"Just shut up! Shut up!" Jacob yelled at Ethan.
"Now get the hell out of here before you anger me even more!" Ethan said raising his voice.
Jacob from behind him in his pocket pulled out a knife, giving Ethan déjà vu.
"I hate you!" He screamed a he ran raising the knife in a stabbing position.
Bayleef pulled out her two vines and Heracross formed a fighting stance getting ready for Jacob, but it was then when in the middle of them, Espeon red gem began to glow.
"Wahhh!" Jacob screamed dropping his knife as he was raised into the air.
"That's, Psychic!" Ethan realized.
"Let me down you bitch!" Jacob threw a temper tantrum as he was being raised.
Espeon then quickly brought him down to her level, so she could stare him in the eyes, looking into his soul.
What lasted a second in real time felt like a minute to Jacob as he locked eyes with the angered Pokémon who was once his.
I'm sorry... He thought, trying to save his ass.
In his mind was Espeon, who read his thoughts. It was then he heard a voice that wasn't is.
You're at my mercy now. Do not ever try and attack my Trainer Ethan ever again, or else I'll kill you! The voice said furious.
I-I've got it, I won't, please let me go! Jacob pleaded.
If you are ever within even a thousand feet of me or Ethan again, I will know. Believe me, now get out... The voice said. It was then when Jacob was dropped to the ground.
"I-I got to get out of here!" Jacob cried as he fled from the scene.
Espeon suddenly went blank after using Psychic, not sure what just happened, but she was brought back to reality by Ethan who put his hand on her scalp.
"Thank you Espeon, I'm proud of you girl." Ethan said giving her another hug.
She leapt in her Trainer's arms and returned it. "Espeon!" She cried out happily.
And that's this chapter! If anyone is disappointed that Eevee evolved into Espeon rather than Umbreon or one of Eevee's many other forms just know it was always going to be Espeon, since she's my favorite Eeveelution. And as for the Pikachu bit at the beginning I included it since I had actually planned on giving Ethan a Pichu at first which would eventually evolve into a Pikachu and not a Raichu since Pikachu's one of my favorite Pokémon, but I decided rather to give Ethan Mareep to keep him with a mostly Johto team. But back to Espeon it took a while but now she's here, making Ethan's team consist of Bayleef, Ampharos, Togetic, Espeon, Heracross, and Gyarados!
