Pokémon Crimson Gold
Chapter 56: Battle between father and son
Upon entering Goldenrod and meeting with his mother as well as Professor Elm, Ethan was challenged by his Father Allen to a Pokémon battle.
I always knew I'd eventually have to face my Father, but I never would have thought it'd happen so soon... Ethan thought while holding his Pokéball.
Allen stood about fifteen feet across the battlefield holding a Pokéball of his own.
"Let's do this!" Ethan exclaimed throwing his Pokéball. "I choose you, Heracross!"
"Heracross!" Heracross shouted landing in front of Ethan.
"This is my Dad we're going to battle Heracross, so give it all you got!" Ethan warned his Pokémon.
Heracross nodded his head and turned his attention to Allen.
"Bay Bay!" Bayleef cheered Heracross on.
"A Heracross, interesting choice." Allen said clapping his hands before throwing out his Pokémon. "Raichu, prepare for battle!"
"Rai Rai!" The Electric Mouse Pokémon bellowed. It was covered in dark orange fur with a white belly. It had bifurcated ears which were brown on the outside and yellow on the inside. It had yellow blush marks on its cheeks where it stored electricity along with a thin tail with a lightning bolt on the top.
Raichu smirked and wagged its finger at Heracross taunting the bug type.
"Heracross..." Heracross grunted entering a battle stance.
"Let's see what the Pokédex has to say." Ethan said searching for Raichu's entry.
"Raichu, the Mouse Pokémon. When its electricity builds, its muscles are stimulated, and it becomes aggressive than usual."
"You ready to begin Ethan?" Allen asked his son.
"I don't know, you'll be the one needing the Pokémon Center so you tell me!" Ethan claimed.
"Oh-ho, I like that confidence." Allen said. "Let's hope you're not just all talk."
"You're about to find out!" Ethan yelled.
There was what felt like a minute of silence to Ethan. He was about to face his father to which he had dreamt about for as long as he remembered. Despite his confident front he was more than anything intimidated.
"Raichu we'll start! Use Quick Attack!" Allen commanded.
"Raichu Rai!" Raichu quickly vanished from where it was standing with tremendous speed shocking both Ethan and Heracross.
"What!" Ethan screamed.
Raichu reappeared before Heracross slamming him in the gut sending Heracross flying back crashing on the ground.
"He... ra..." Heracross said struggling to stand back up.
"Bay!" Bayleef gasped.
Dad's Raichu is insane. Ethan thought.
"Heracross, shock it with our speed! Use Close Combat!" Ethan yelled.
Heracross listened and ran fourth at the Raichu preparing a multiple punch onslaught.
"Raichu, Thunder Punch!" Allen yelled, Raichu ran heading for the charging Heracross with its fist lit with electricity.
"Heracross, dodge then strike!" Ethan yelled.
Heracross and Raichu were now close in distance to each other, as Raichu threw the punch Heracross closely anticipated it before dodging to the side.
"Rai, Raichu!?" It said surprised.
"Now do it!" Ethan yelled.
"Heracross!" Heracross gave a stern battle cry before he could land the attack. It was then however when Raichu went and jabbed him in the neck with his tail causing him to drop the attack.
"No way!" Ethan reacted.
"Now Raichu, Thunderbolt!" Allen ordered.
Raichu lit with electricity and blasted Heracross at full power causing Ethan to look away from the sheer brightness coming from the attack.
"S-so intense..." Ethan said mesmerized. When he looked back, Heracross was gassed out.
"He-Heracross..." Heracross mumbled as his eyes rolled back rendering him unconscious.
"Agh, return Heracross." Ethan said withdrawing his fallen Pokémon. "That was great boy, now take a good rest."
"One down, five to go." Allen smirked. His Raichu jumped up in the air triumphantly with one arm up.
"It's not over yet!" Ethan yelled throwing another Pokéball. "Espeon, let it rip!"
"Espe!" Espeon cried out upon release.
"An Espeon!? Wow, you acquired an Eevee during your journey!" Allen said surprised.
"Yeah, now go and make me proud girl!" Ethan said. Espeon turned her head and smiled before focusing her gaze back to Raichu.
"Raichu Rai!" Raichu growled trying to intimidate Espeon.
"Start with Thunder Punch!" Allen commanded. Raichu listened and pounced for Espeon with a fist full of electricity.
"Espeon, trap it with Psychic!" Ethan yelled.
"Espeon!" The Sun Pokémon purred while trapping Raichu in midair.
"Rai, Rai Rai!" Raichu stressed while struggling to move.
"Heh, now slam Raichu into the ground!" Ethan yelled.
Espeon listened and slammed Raichu face first into the ground kicking up smoke from the battlefield.
Raichu leaped out of the smoke cloud, with scuff marks and bruises on its face looking annoyed.
"Rai!" It said with static electricity rising from its yellow cheeks.
"Thunderbolt!" Allen roared.
Raichu blasted another Thunderbolt attack at Ethan making Ethan smile.
"Espeon, Reflect!" Ethan yelled.
Espeon brought up her shield instantly reflecting the Thunderbolt back at her opponent.
What will you do now old man? Ethan thought watching the battle carefully.
"Raichu, charge through it with Quick Attack!"
"Huh!?" Ethan freaked.
Raichu blasted through the reversed Thunderbolt with Quick Attack leaping into the air right above Espeon.
"Espeon quickly dodge!" Ethan yelled.
Espeon leaped back but as soon as Espeon did Raichu landed to the ground and with its already caught momentum slammed into Espeon knocking her to ground.
"Espeon!" The psychic type cried out.
"Are you okay Espeon!?" Ethan asked. "Can you still move?"
"Don't let it Raichu, trap Espeon with your tail.
"Rai!" The electric type yelled slamming its tail into the ground just right above Espeon's neck, immobilizing her from moving. Espeon's eyes lit up with shock.
"Espeon!" Ethan panicked.
"Finish Espeon off with Hyper Beam!" Allen commanded.
Raichu's mouth began to charge a fierce looking ball of energy preparing the Hyper Beam attack.
"Espeon, blow Raichu back again with Psychic!" Ethan yelled, but before it could land Allen laughed.
"Raichu don't let it!" He yelled.
With its tail Raichu smashed into Espeon's gut, making her spit up in pain.
"Oh no Espeon!" Ethan screamed.
"B-Bay!" Bayleef said turning her face away.
Raichu blasted Espeon at point blank range with the Hyper Beam causing a large explosion encompassing half the battlefield.
"No!" Ethan cried as his Espeon was sent back to him battered and in no shape to continue.
Ethan got on his knees and cradled his unconscious Pokémon in his arms.
"And that makes two." Allen smiled.
"Espeon I really am proud of you." Ethan said returning her to her Pokéball. "That was awesome, you were awesome."
"Who will it be next?" Allen asked.
"It'll be a battle of electric types." Ethan said throwing another Pokéball. "Ampharos go!"
Ampharos landed on its feet on the other side of the battlefield to Raichu, upon seeing another electric type Raichu was intrigued.
"Raichu!" It said gritting its teeth.
"Ampharos was the second Pokémon I ever caught; he's been with me for almost as long as Bayleef has." Ethan said. "I believe in you, Ampharos!"
"Ampharos!" Ampharos exclaimed wagging his tail.
"Raichu, slam into Ampharos with Quick Attack!" Allen yelled.
"Raichu Rai!" Raichu said excitedly as it charged for Ampharos at full speed.
"So quick! Ampharos Confuse Ray!" Ethan said thinking fast.
Ampharos shot out the move and the speeding Raichu was moving at speeds too fast to stop or even dodge, getting hit head on and now being confused.
Raichu suddenly began wobbling around no longer using the Quick Attack as it was confused.
"Not bad." Allen smiled.
"Now hit Raichu head on with Fire Punch!" Ethan said.
Ampharos leaped before Raichu and with a fist full of flames punched the poor Raichu in the gut sending Raichu to the ground.
"Rai-Raichu!" It said quickly recovering back on its feet no longer feeling the effects of confusion.
"Nice job so far Ampharos!" Ethan said to his Pokémon.
"Amphar!" Ampharos said nodding at Ethan.
"Not so bad but Raichu won't go down so easily." Allen proclaimed. "Raichu bite back with Thunderbolt."
Raichu blasted Ampharos with a Thunderbolt leaving the electric type no time to dodge.
Ampharos was pushed back albeit tanking the blast.
"Despite both being electric types this battle won't come down to a battle with electric type moves." Ethan commented.
"I guess you're right." Allen said. "Now Raichu, use Thunder Punch on the ground!"
Raichu smashed his fist into the ground with Thunder Punch kicking up and cracking the ground and creating what felt like an earthquake in an attempt to recreate a ground type move.
"Amphar!?" Ampharos said surprised.
"Ampharos dodge!" Ethan screamed. Ampharos listened and leaped into the air dodging the move.
"Great, now Fire Punch!" Ethan yelled.
Ampharos formed a fist full of flames and pounced for Raichu who was beginning to tire out.
"Thunder Punch and fast!" Allen ordered.
Raichu charged his fist with electricity in contrast to Ampharos's Fire Punch. Their fists came in contact with each other causing a struggle of fire versus electricity.
"Ampharos, you've got this!" Ethan cheered his Pokémon on. Bayleef cheered herself as well jumping up and down repeatedly cheering.
"Raichu. Don't lose!" Allen yelled.
An explosion kicked up blinding both Ethan and his father. However, upon the smoke clearing Raichu was defeated and Ampharos was not.
"Am, pharos..." Ampharos panted after taking the victory.
"Rai... chuuu..." Raichu grumbled out on the ground in no shape to continue.
"Alright Ampharos, that was a phenomenal job." Ethan said congratulating his Pokémon. "Keep it up, this will be his second Pokémon."
"Amph, Ampharos!" Ampharos said giving a thumbs-up.
"Not bad kid. Raichu to me." Allen said as he returned his Raichu.
Who will it be next!? Ethan thought watching his Dad's movements carefully.
"Feraligatr, you're up!" Allen said releasing his starter.
"Feraligatr!" Feraligatr screeched upon being released. It then locked eyes with Ampharos giving a stern grin.
"Using a Pokémon with a type disadvantage!?" Ethan said a bit surprised as he pulled out his Pokédex to scan it.
"Feraligatr, the Big Jaw Pokémon. When it bites with its massive and powerful jaws, it shakes its head and savagely tears its victim up."
"Type advantage isn't everything." Allen remarked. "But before we start, could I give you a word of advice."
"Wait what, a word of advice!?" Ethan said surprised.
"Sure, I've noticed will all the rounds we've had so far you like to wait for your opponent to go strike first." Allen explained. "Although it may work out well half the time, sometimes offense is the best defense."
"Fine, you want me to go on the offensive, then you've got it!" Ethan said. "Ampharos, Thunderbolt!"
Ampharos lit up and sent a lightning-fast Thunderbolt at the Feraligatr before it swiftly dodged the move.
"Now Feraligatr, Dragon Claw!" Allen demanded.
Feraligatr charged forth and slashed at Ampharos straight at the gut sending him flying back.
"Bounce back and use Fire Punch!" Ethan yelled.
Ampharos landed on his hands before backflipping landed on his feet. He charged forth at Feraligatr with a Fire Punch.
"That'll do nothing!" Allen yelled. "Feraligatr, Hydro Pump!"
Feraligatr pulled his mouth back and fired a powerful Hydro Pump straight the charging Ampharos.
"Ampharos charge through!" Ethan yelled.
"Taking a word out of my book, aye." Allen said recalling what had happened with his Raichu earlier.
Ampharos leaped through the Hydro Pump tanking the not very effective damage however putting out his Fire Punch. Ampharos landed face to face with the Feraligatr.
"Discharge now let's go!" Ethan yelled.
Ampharos listened and began to light up with blue electricity about to zap Feraligatr with all his power at close range.
"Don't let it Feraligatr, Ice Fang!" Allen commanded.
Before Ampharos could unleash the deciding blow Feraligatr caught and bit him in the arm, disrupting the Discharge.
"Amphar!" Ampharos screamed out in pain.
"T-that's not good!" Ethan stressed.
The bite began to freeze Ampharos from his arm up, leaving him mostly frozen. Feraligatr finally let go with Ampharos unable to move.
"Now Dragon Claw!" Allen commanded.
Feraligatr slashed at the frozen Ampharos breaking him from the ice and sending him back first to the ground.
"Ampharos are you okay!?" Ethan freaked.
Unfortunately, it was over for Ampharos as he fell to his knees defeated and in no shape to continue as he was knocked out cold on the ground.
"Augh," Ethan reacted.
"Bay..." Bayleef sighed.
"See, type advantage isn't everything." Allen lectured his son who returned his fallen Ampharos.
"Ampharos, thanks for battling as always." Ethan said. "It's always a pleasure to see you battle."
"And for your fourth Pokémon." Allen said with a confident look on his face.
Ethan pulled out his Great Ball and turned his face to his father. "This next Pokémon is different from the rest of my team! Now go, Gyarados!"
Gyarados let out a hyper loud screech upon being released, causing Feraligatr to take two steps back. Allen looked mesmerized at the sight of the shiny.
"A red skinned Gyarados!?" Allen said. "When did you catch something so amazing and rare!?"
"You should worry more about winning." Ethan responded. "Now Gyarados, Dragon Dance!"
Gyarados lit up with his purple aura increasing his speed and strength, it was so powerful it created a heat of tension between him and Feraligatr.
"A battle between water types huh." Allen said. "Feraligatr, use Dragon Claw!"
Feraligatr rushed forth with a Dragon Claw attack at intense speed.
"Gyarados Aqua Tail and fast!" Ethan yelled.
Gyarados swung his tail at the rushing Feraligatr but Feraligatr leaped dodging the move and slashing Gyarados across the face.
"Grahhh!" Gyarados shrieked.
"Don't let it get to you Gyarados, use Dragon Breath!" Ethan yelled.
Gyarados opened his mouth and fired an intense Dragon Breath at the midair Feraligatr. The crocodile Pokémon however used Hydro Pump launching it at the ground below it allowing it to dodge right on time.
"Oh no!" Ethan yelled.
"Feraligatr don't let up!" Allen yelled. "Continue the onslaught with Ice Fang!"
Feraligatr followed Allen's order and bit Gyarados in his neck, freezing him entirely.
"Not again, this isn't good!" Ethan fret.
"Now, Dragon Claw now!" Allen yelled, Feraligatr did and slashed Gyarados with a rapid Dragon Claw attack breaking the shiny Pokémon from the ice but also inflicting fierce damage.
"Wrahh!" Gyarados howled in pain before recollecting itself.
"Gyarados, you've got this! I know you do." Ethan said cheering his Pokémon on. Gyarados nodded his head before turning back all his attention to his opponent.
"Okay now! Dragon Breath once more!" Ethan yelled as Gyarados shot out a fierce Dragon Breath at the Feraligatr.
"Agility quick!" Allen ordered.
Feraligatr began leaping around Gyarados with such speed he left multiple after images everywhere, allowing it to dodge the Dragon Breath.
"Now Hydro Pump!" Allen yelled.
Feraligatr pulled its head back and shot out a powerful Hydro Pump straight for Gyarados.
"Gyarados, respond with your own Hydro Pump!" Ethan yelled.
Both Gyarados and Feraligatr's Hydro Pump's connected and both possessed equal strength, they eventually both splashed getting water everywhere.
"Agh, my jacket!" Ethan said gawking at his wet clothes.
"You shouldn't get distracted! Gyarados, Dragon Claw once more!" Allen cried.
Feraligatr came and with one big slash from Dragon Claw defeated the mighty Gyarados, who fell face first into the ground.
"Ugh, Gyarados!" Ethan said returning him to his Pokéball.
"You said Gyarados was different from your other Pokémon, but it was different in rarity only." Allen said.
"Gyarados you were awesome out there, now go on and rest." Ethan said before kneeling down to speak with his starter.
"How about we make this a battle of starters, what do you say Bayleef?" Ethan asked.
"Bay!" She said leaping to the battlefield ground. Bayleef faced off with Feraligatr creating a fierce heat between them.
"Your starter Bayleef, I heard great things from your Mom about this one. She said he looked like he would grow to be a fighter." Allen remarked.
"She, not he." Ethan corrected. "Bayleef, you've got this, I know!"
Bayleef formed a battle stance and readied her head.
"Feraligatr, Dragon Claw once more!" Allen yelled.
Feraligatr rushed forth at Bayleef prepared to use Dragon Claw, but Ethan noticed Feraligatr's movements were growing slower despite using Agility earlier.
"It's slower Bayleef, dodge!" Ethan yelled.
Bayleef jumped to the side leaping over the Dragon Claw. Feraligatr turned and ran forth with more Dragon Claw's but Bayleef managed to dodge them all.
"Bayleef, now Vine Whip!" Ethan yelled.
Bayleef used a single whip to strike Feraligatr across the face making the crocodile Pokémon cry out in pain.
"Now Bayleef! Magical Leaf!" Ethan yelled.
Bayleef swung her leaf sending multiple leaves at Feraligatr.
"Quickly dodge!" Allen yelled.
Feraligatr placed its palm on the ground and lifted itself up completely dodging the Magical Leaf attack.
"Huh!" Ethan said surprised at that kind of move.
"Now Ice Fang!" Allen yelled.
Feraligatr tried to snap its icy jaw a Bayleef but she leaped back dodging it.
"Hydro Pump!" Allen screamed.
Feraligatr opened its mouth and fired a Hydro Pump aiming for Bayleef.
"Light Screen!" Ethan said.
"Bay!" Bayleef cried as she brought up her shield allowing her to avoid the blast.
"Dragon Claw!" Allen yelled.
Feraligatr pounced at Bayleef and struck into the Light Screen with its Dragon Claw forming a struggle between them.
Bayleef's feet dug into the ground as she was being pushed back.
"End it Feraligatr!" Allen ordered.
"Don't give in Bayleef!" Ethan pleaded.
Feraligatr finally broke the Light Screen entirely making Bayleef scream. It opened its jaw and prepared for an Ice Fang to inflict Super effective damage.
"Bay Bay Bay..." She panted.
"Do it!" Allen commanded.
Feraligatr leaned in with its jaw to bite Bayleef, but it was then when the grass type caught Feraligatr by its jaws with its Vine Whips. Its eyes popped open with shock.
Allen smiled and chuckled a bit at seeing this.
"Now Magical Leaf fast!" Ethan spoke.
Bayleef swung her leaf sending the razor-sharp leaves directly into the water types mouth sending the Pokémon flying back to the ground back first.
"Feral... gatr..." The Pokémon groaned in pain, it tried to get back up but failed.
"You did it girl!" Ethan exclaimed with his hands in the air. He ran over to Bayleef and gave her a big hug.
"Bay!" She said happily.
"Feraligatr return." Allen said returning his Pokémon before looking back up to his son. "That's a good starter you chose Ethan. I can see why you two are so close."
"I know, Bayleef and me are one." Ethan said petting her on her scalp. "Bayleef, even if we don't win this, just know you always make me proud."
She reached and licked Ethan on the cheek before he ran back off the battlefield to continue the battle.
"Your third Pokémon." Ethan said sounding proud of himself.
"You've done good so far but this is where this battle ends." Allen said holding an Ultra Ball in his hands. "I acquired this next Pokémon during my time in Hoenn, a Pokémon I have no doubt you've probably never heard of."
"Just who is it!?" Ethan asked.
"You're about to find out. Now go and win this for me!" Allen yelled as he threw his Ultra Ball releasing his Pokémon.
As soon as the Pokémon landed on the ground it was surrounded by a fierce flame that caused not only Ethan but Bayleef to look away at the sight of it. The fire raised to what appeared to be the sky before vanishing.
"W-what is that?" Ethan said taking one glance at the Pokémon before him.
The Pokémon kneeled down but slowly got up, clearly being of the fire type. Its body was red with accents of beige, yellow, and gray. Behind its head was hair-like feathers that continue downward and surrounded its chest and abdomen. The fire type had blue eyes and a red V-shaped crest on its head, along with having a hooked beak and strong sturdy looking legs.
The Pokémon stood firm and crossed its arms, staring down Bayleef.
"B-Bay...!" She said sounding uneasy at the menacing design of the Fire type.
"What does the Pokédex have to say on this one." Ethan said scanning it.
"No data." The Pokédex said disappointing Ethan.
"Ugh, this thing always works but fails me when I need it the most!" Ethan said putting away his Pokédex.
"I'll tell you what this is Ethan. This is Blaziken, the final evolution to the Hoenn starter, Torchic." Allen informed the young Trainer. "This one's a fighter, and I mean that quite literally, not just a fire type but also a fighting type."
"Blaziken!" The Blaziken roared striking fear into Ethan before he snapped out of it.
"Bayleef... don't give up just because it's got a type advantage. We're strong too!" Ethan assured his starter.
"Bay!" She nodded her head before once again forming a battle stance.
"Don't you see it Ethan, Bayleef has already lost. There's no way she can beat a fully evolved fire Pokémon. Now Blaziken, use Mega Punch!"
Blaziken leaped forth towards Bayleef with a fierce Mega Punch.
"Bayleef! Dodge it!" Ethan yelled.
Bayleef leaped back just barely dodging the move and without even Ethan's word struck the fire type with Magical Leaf, however it didn't even shake the Blaziken. No damage taken at all.
"S-so strong, and durable!" Ethan said absolutely stunned.
"Blaze Kick now!" Allen yelled, Blaziken listened and with one Blaze Kick across Bayleef's face sent her crashing to Ethan, causing a large explosion.
"Bayleef no!" Ethan panicked.
Bayleef slowly stumbled out from the smoke but landed to the ground before coughing up blood, truly with zero chance of defeating Blaziken.
"Bay... ayy..." She mumbled with a tear in her eye face planting into the ground.
"Bayleef!" Ethan screamed.
"I told you, it had no chance." Allen said spinning the Ultra Ball in his hands.
"Bayleef are you alright!?" Ethan yelled as he ran over to his starter and dropped to his knees.
"Bayleef are you alright, are you alright!?" He said alarmed as he gently shook her trying to ger her to wake up.
Bayleef opened her eyes and slowly got up, clearly in no way could she continue.
"Bay..." She said feeling sorry she lost.
"Don't worry Bayleef, you were amazing as always girl." Ethan said helping her get up. "Can you watch the last round of the battle with me?"
"Bay!" She agreed walking over with Ethan.
"Who will it be Ethan, my Blaziken is waiting." Allen warned as Blaziken stood still awaiting Ethan's next Pokémon.
"My final Pokémon has a Type advantage!" Ethan yelled as he threw his Pokéball. "Go, Togetic!"
"Togetic!" Togetic exclaimed excitedly upon release, he spun around Ethan before facing Blaziken and entering the battlefield.
"A Togetic, good choice!" Allen said. "But it has no chance before my Blaziken."
Blaziken crossed its arms and stared down the Togetic, Togetic also put on a serious face as well.
"Alright, Togetic. We'll start with Aerial Ace!" Ethan yelled, Togetic listened and blasted across the battlefield at lightspeed kicking up heavy dust.
"So quick! Blaziken, respond with another Blaze Kick!" Allen demanded.
Blaziken leaped into the air and smashed into Togetic's aerial ace with a Blaze Kick of equal force causing an explosion.
Both Blaziken and the flying type leaped from the explosion onto the ground, both with scuffs having taken damage.
"Togetic, quick, use Metronome!" Ethan yelled.
"Metronome? Going for chance, huh!?" Allen said laughing. "Blaziken, Bulk Up!"
Blaziken charged with a red fire-like aura before perking its chest up, preparing for whatever move Togetic used.
"Togetic!" Togetic cried out coming at Blaziken with a fierce Giga Impact, he struck Blaziken in the chest but inflicted zero damage.
"How!?" Ethan panicked.
"Bulk Up is an attack that boosts the user's endurance!" Allen declared. "Now Blaziken, Mega Punch!"
Blaziken raised its arm and punched Togetic in the face sending the flying back crashing back to Ethan before he recollected himself in midair.
"You alright Togetic!?" Ethan asked.
"Togetic!" Togetic affirmed.
"Now Blaziken, Brave Bird!" Allen yelled.
Blaziken leaped into the air surrounded by what appeared to be a blue flame as it soared for Togetic.
"Togetic, dodge!" Ethan screamed.
Togetic flew to its side dodging the powerful Brave Bird attack, Blaziken landed on one knee and suffered the recoil damage from the move.
Togetic is not only the fastest on my team, but also the smallest and can fly, meaning he's the hardest to hit, on top of having the type advantage we've got this. Ethan thought.
The flying type's eyes lit up and let out a short cry, it appeared to have an effect on Blaziken somehow Ethan noted.
"Continue the onslaught with another Blaze Kick Blaziken!" Allen yelled.
Despite being told to use Blaze Kick, Blaziken for whatever reason struck at Togetic with a Brave Bird, shocking Allen.
Blaziken missed as Togetic once again dodged the move, causing Blaziken to crash to the ground and inflict more recoil.
"Don't tell me, your Togetic knows Encore?" Allen asked.
"Encore... that explains it! Togetic, you learned Encore!" Ethan exclaimed.
"Togetic!" Togetic giggled proud of himself.
"Blaziken you've got to break out of it! Use Bulk Up!" Allen yelled. But to his misfortune Blaziken again used Brave Bird.
"Yes! Now use Extra Sensory!" Ethan said.
Togetic's eyes glowed red as it trapped Blaziken in its vortex stopping Blaziken in place.
"Bla-Blaziken!" It said trying to break free but failing.
"Now smash it!" Ethan yelled.
Togetic listened and smashed Blaziken into the ground, the Super effective move inflicting much damage.
Blaziken backflipped to recover, albeit breathing heavily now.
"Blaziken, if Brave Bird's the only move you can use then give it everything you've got!" Allen yelled.
"Blaze...iken!" Blaziken yelled as it used a Brave Bird so strong as it leaped into the air shattered the ground bellow it.
"So-so fast!" Ethan panicked. "Togetic, Aerial Ace and dodge it!"
Togetic used his quick speed to try and dodge the move with Aerial Ace by doing a loop d loop, but Blaziken was smart and anticipated Togetic's movement allowing it to crash into the side of Togetic causing an explosion in the sky.
"Togetic!" Ethan screamed.
From the smoke in the sky, both Blaziken and Togetic fell, landing on the ground both knocked out unconscious.
"I-it's over..." Ethan said wiping some sweat from his face.
"Bay..." Bayleef sighed in relief.
"So, in the end Togetic tied with my Blaziken. Very impressive but I still win." Allen said as he returned Blaziken. "Good work today Ethan, you did great."
"Togetic, return." Ethan said as he withdrew his knocked-out Pokémon. "That was such a fun battle to watch, thanks a bunch."
"I'm glad I finally got to meet all your Pokémon." Allen stated. " Heracross, Espeon, Ampharos, Ampharos, Gyarados, Bayleef, and Togetic."
"I may have lost this time, but I'll battle you again someday. And I'll win!" Ethan swore.
"Bayleef!" Bayleef agreed slamming her two front feet to the ground.
"Fine by me. We'll do it then." Allen said flipping back his poncho.
"Ethan! Allen!" They both heard, both father and son turned their heads to see Ethan's mother who came running.
"I thought I told you to tell your father to come over here quick, I already made reservations at a fancy restaurant here in town and our table may be called soon, we've got to hurry!" She explained.
"I know, and I'm sorry Eliza." Allen said as he walked over to his wife. He placed his hands on her hips and she put her arms around his neck as he gave her a kiss to which she returned as they smacked their lips together.
"Ugh, gross, what are you guys doing trying to make me gag!?" Ethan said turning his face away and sticking his tongue out. Bayleef chuckled at seeing Ethan's reaction to it.
"Oh, not in front of Ethan honey!" Eliza said as she pulled her face away from her husband slightly embarrassed.
"I'm going to forget I saw that!" Ethan said shaking his head.
"Anyways let's get on!" Allen said as he left along with his wife with his arm around her. "Come on Ethan."
"I'll be with you both in a second, just got to drop my Pokémon off at the Center!" Ethan told them.
"Alright sweetheart, just make sure to be quick!" Eliza said to him as she left along with her husband.
"We might have lost today, but this isn't the end. Like I said just now, I plan on battling him again." Ethan said to his starter.
Bayleef smiled and instantly agreed.
And there we have it. The battle between Ethan and his father. It was probably obvious thought that Ethan was going to lose, as Lance said before Allen is a Trainer on par with the Elite Four themselves. So this was kind of inevitable. Again please leave reviews, love to know how you guys feel about the direction this story is heading in.
