"Why are you acting so weird?"

"I'm not acting weird. You're acting weird."

"I'm not the weird one. You're the weird one."

"Oh, shut your trap."

"I will once you tell me what's wrong," Regulus said pointedly as he dropped a tablespoon of moonstone powder into the potion.

"I did something dumb."

"You do a lot of dumb of things. You need to explain why this dumb thing is worse than the other dumb things."

Lena pinched his hand.

"Ow!" Regulus cried quietly.

"Good. Anyways, it happened on the Hogsmeade trip on Saturday…"

Saturday, 20 May 1977

Lena was just the tiniest bit intoxicated as she and Remus walked to Honeydukes after having left The Three Broomsticks. She had been sitting with Maggie, Ava, Frank, Marlene, Lily, Dorcas, Alex, Raj, Mary, Peter, Alice, James, Gwen, Sirius, and Remus. The seventh years had invited them out for drinks in Hogsmeade to blow off steam before their O.W.L.s. Every time Rosmerta turned around and or served a customer, the people of age would pass the drinks of Firewhiskey to Mary, Raj, Lena, Alex, Maggie, and Ava to sip.

"How are you not drunk right now? I had wayyyy less than you," Lena said as she held onto Remus' arm and looked up at him.

"Two reasons. I'm six foot three and werewolves can't get drunk unless they drink, I dunno, like seven bottles of Firewhiskey."

"No way!"

"It's true, Jose," Remus said with a smile.

"That's awesome!"

"Is it!"

"Yeah! You can challenge people to drinking contests and always win," Lena said as if it was obvious.

Remus grinned. "We'll have to put it to the test."

Remus held the door open to the sweetshop. "After you."

"Why thank you, good sir," Lena joked.

"What can I say? I'm the definition of chivalrous."

Lena flashed him a grin. "I expect nothing less from a Gryffindor."

"I am going to get some more Chocolate Frogs," Remus pointed. "I'm running low."

"God, you're an addict."

"I prefer the term chocoholic."

"Well, while you fuel your addiction, I'm going to get a Pumpkin Pasty."

Remus scrunched up his face.

"Do not give me that look! They're delicious!"

"They would be if they were filled with chocolate."

"I think you need to give pumpkins another chance. You are the only magical person I know who hates pumpkins."

"I don't mind carving them for Halloween."

"You know what I mean."

"They just look so unappetizing. Pumpkin filling looks like shit," Remus whined

Lena tilted her head. "The same could be said about chocolate."

Remus looked mildly scandalized.

"I'm sorry. I went too far," Lena said, trying to sound as sincere as possible.

"I guess I'll forgive you."

"I'm honored."

"You're freaking out because you insulted chocolate in front of him?" Regulus interrupted.

"No!" Lena cried quietly. "That is not the dumb thing I did."

"Well, speed up the story. Class is out in five minutes."

"Fine. Anyways, he went to the aisle with the Chocolate Frogs and I went to the one with the Pumpkin Pasties…"

Saturday, 20 May 1977

Remus examined the Chocolate Frogs boxes in front of him. He knew all the frogs would taste the same, but wanted to pick a box with a card Lena didn't have yet so he could give it to her. He decided he'd pick the box towards the back of the shelf.

He turned around and found himself facing Eloise Meyers and her boyfriend David Jones. And suddenly he felt overwhelmed and embarrassed. Even though he shared two classes with Eloise, he had managed to avoid her ever since he overheard her talking about him and how unappealing she found his appearance and that she pitied him. Seeing Eloise with one of the more attractive blokes at Hogwarts was rubbing salt in the wound that she had caused. It made Remus think about a lot of things he had been worried about, like that Lena would decide he wasn't handsome or worthy enough for her.

"Hi, Remus. You know my boyfriend David, right?" Eloise said more cheerfully than necessary, sounding as if she was talking down to a child.

David nodded and muttered a hello.

"Hi, Eloise. David," Remus said politely.

"Are you here all alone, Remus?" Eloise asked, flipping her hair behind her shoulder and she clutched onto David's arm. Her voice was coated in pity.

"No, I'm not," Remus said. He really didn't want to be in this conversation. He didn't know why Eloise would even start it, other than to make him uncomfortable. "I'm here with—"

"So I know that Chocolate Frogs are your thing, but I got you a Cauldron Cake," Lena said as she came up to him, her brown eyes sparkling as she held up a bag containing Pumpkin Pasties and Cauldron Cakes.

"Hi, I'm Eloise and this is my boyfriend David. And you are…?"

The sparkle in Lena's eyes dimmed as she looked at Eloise. She knew who Eloise was. She was jealous. Remus had liked this girl before he had liked her. What if he still liked her?

"Lena. Remus' girlfriend," Lena said as she slipped her empty hand into Remus'.

Remus couldn't help but beam. Lena considered herself his girlfriend. And by correlation, Lena considered him her boyfriend.

"Oh, I didn't realize you had a girlfriend. Congratulations, Remus!" Eloise said.

Lena narrowed her eyes. She didn't like that Eloise was implying that it was an accomplishment that Remus had a girlfriend, like it was an impossible task. Of course he could get a girlfriend. He was handsome, smart, terribly clever, funny, caring, and unbelievably kind and understanding.

Eloise shifted uncomfortably under Lena's gaze. "Well, have fun on your date," she said, tugging her boyfriend with her as she walked away.

Lena humped in response.

Lena was too annoyed and jealous of Eloise while they were paying for the sweets to notice that Remus was still smiling like an idiot, still elated that Lena called herself his girlfriend.

"I'm sorry, but I'm a little confused. What was the dumb thing you did?"

"I got really jealous and said I was his girlfriend!"

"But aren't you his girlfriend?"

"No!"

"But you're dating…"

"Yeah, but we haven't talked about if we were boyfriend and girlfriend or not."

"You're boyfriend and girlfriend."

"But—"

"Stop arguing. You're boyfriend and girlfriend."

"You think so?"

"Yes!"

"What if he doesn't want to be tied down by a girlfriend?"

"One, he asked you out. Two, you're not tying him down."

"So you don't think he's gonna break up with me for saying I'm his girlfriend?"

"No, you dummy!"

"Okay, well, you're gonna think I'm really dumb then."

Regulus sighed. "What did you do?"

"I've been avoiding Remus…"

"Why would you do that?"

"Because I was worried that he would break up with me because I said I was his girlfriend…"

"You are so dumb."

"I know."

"You're gonna stop avoiding him, right?"

"Right."

"Good talk."

"One of our more productive ones."

"That's not saying much."

"Hey," Lena said as slid next to Remus at the Gryffindor table. He was alone. James, Sirius, and Peter were messing around in the corner, no doubt planning a new prank.

"Hey, I haven't seen you in a bit."

"I know. I've been studying," Lena lied. She didn't want to tell Remus she was being a massive idiot.

"I missed you."

Lena blushed. "I missed you, too."

Remus grinned and leaned down to kiss her. Lena scooted closer and kissed him back.

"Oh, gross," the couple heard.

They, rather reluctantly, broke apart to look at the person who was speaking. It was Peter, who looked uncomfortable, and James and Sirius, who seemed to be enjoying the slight discomfort and awkwardness of the situation.

Remus simply grinned and threw an arm around Lena. "What? I'm not allowed to kiss my girlfriend?"

And then Lena got giddy. Remus called her his girlfriend. They were on the same page.

"I mean, you can. I'd just prefer not to see it," Peter replied.

Lena rolled eyes and kissed Remus, slightly because she wanted to annoy her brother but mostly because she liked kissing her boyfriend.

Peter groaned. "Really?"

"What? I'm not allowed to kiss my boyfriend?"

Peter shook his head as Remus and Lena grinned like idiots.
