Lost sense of purpose

Chapter 11th

Special Agent Gibbs continued to search the area of the two officers killed. He wasn't like the idea that his own friends might have been involved with their deaths? He walked into another storage area with his flashlight in his hand to see what was in front of him.

When all of a sudden a box was pushed on top of him knocking Gibbs to the floor. He felt his back hurt slightly. Though he pushed it out of the way having to be partially heavy. He called McGee and the others to head this way to sector 4C.

Catching his breath as he tries to hold don with a twinge of pain going down to his right leg. Taking another deep breath, he felt as if someone in this storage area might have pushed the box at him in order not to find any answers.

As the hatchway opened with McGee turning on the switch on the side. They needed to ask Gibbs whether he was alright or not.

"Not really! But I will survive. I need you to check for any possible evidence that had someone pushed that box on top of me?" he cried out with a grimace showing on his face.

"Boss I think you have a better head for sickbay to have the doctor check you out?" Senior field agent McGee needed to say.

"I will go with you, sir." Bishop needed to say to her boss and father figure.

"Fine, I will go before everyone starts to haunt me about what has happened here today? McGee I need for you to keep an eye out on Sergeant Billy Miles and Lt. Jeremy Sanderson. I have a feeling both of them are holding back. Here are my notes that you take a lookout on." he says with another grimace.

He starts to walk away slowly with Bishop holding onto him.

"That NCIS agent has been asking too many questions about the officer's deaths. Have Doctor Gordon in sickbay since I heard that he's there now for a check-up? That box didn't do any real damage on the agent?" Sanderson needed to say to the associate shaking his head.

"Fine, I will call him on the intercom." Moving over to the intercom connecting to Doctor Gordon's main office.

SICKBAY...

Special Agent Gibbs was laying on the table waiting for Doctor Gordon to examined him after what happened earlier. Gibbs was getting anxious with Bishop in the waiting room calling Nick with the investigation continued.

"Not really Bishop. But what I found I have a feeling as to why the two officers were killed for," he said...

"And what's that Nick?" she had to ask having waited a long time already. She was in need of the bathroom to which she went after talking to her husband.

"Drugs. McGee and I found traces of cocaine and other types of pills. Maybe Gibbs might have gotten too close and they meaning who is involved needed to take him out?" Nick said.

"If this is true. Then I have a feeling that Gibbs is going to be in danger? Shit!" Bishop cried out needing to find out why it was taking so long to take care of Gibbs?"

She ran as quickly as possible with her weapon in hand to see Gibbs spasming on the table with no one around. "Gibbs what the hell happened?' she screams out at her boss.

"HELP ME, BISHOP! I have been poison." he cries out as he was convulsing. Bishop ran to call for other doctors to help. Doctor SABBITI and another specialist in the ward came in to see Gibbs convulsing. Both of the doctors noticed the syringe sitting on the table with placing a drop of it left to smell it.

"He's been poisoned." He said with an antidote to being given from the cabinet sitting in the examining room. "This will help Special Agent Gibbs. Who gave this to you?"

Gibbs croaked out with the last of the spasms happening to his lower extremities. "Doctor Gordon." he cries with his response as tears are falling from his eyes.

"Tell security to begin searching for Doctor Gordon with the charge of attempted murder?" he said with authority to the security officer arriving onto the scene.

"Doctor Sabbiti his vitals are getting back to normal again. Shall we place him into an alcove to rest?" Doctor Rolaids needed to say has to be a heart specialist on board the carrier. Just like Doctor Cyril Taft on board the U.S.S. Daniel Webster.

"Yes, he's going to be needing to rest for at least 24 hours. Please advise his team that Special Agent Gibbs will be staying onboard the U.S.S. Benjamin Franklin for observation."

"Yes, sir." Doctor Rolaids moved away to speak with Special Agent Eleanor Bishop now waiting again. She gets up from the chair a nervous wreck worrying about Gibbs and his past troubles.

"How is he, Doctor?" she asks with concern with her worried demeanor.

"Better with the antidote. However due to his weakened state. We will be keeping him in a private alcove for now to rest. We will probably be keeping him here for 24 hours at best. If you like I will talk with the captain to give your team quarters to sleep in until it's time to head back to the Naval Yards?" he said to her with a shake of her head.

SHIP TO SHORE COMMUNICATIONS

Director Leon Vance had been advised of the situation in regard to Gibbs's life having been threatened twice on the U.S.S. Benjamin Franklin. He had been told that the entire team was going to be staying overnight to head back in the morning by helo.

His head was a mass of pain needing to take some aspirins in order to be rid of it after finishing with talking to Senior Field Agent Timothy McGee.

"Alright McGee just be sure to give me a full report in the morning on the suspect and Gibbs's condition?" he was livid with his annoyance and the question.

"I will sir. And besides, we will be continuing the investigation with two others that Gibbs had spoken with before the accidents had happened. Even though attempted murder is on everyone's mind?"

"I agree. See you in the morning along with I hope with Special Agent Gibbs?" he responded with ending the conversation over the short wave radio in his office.
