Chapter 1: Bitter Chocolate and Scary Monsters. (2/2)
The boy with a bitter taste of chocolate in his month. Was in complete shock, for two reasons. First, it was the sight of Maki Sonomura, a girl that Yukinari only knows as the girl that is always hospitalized. Second, it was the sight of a scaring looking monster, a monstrous, multi-limbed lump of flesh with several arms and legs sticking out of the lump, but what called the most attention, was a head identical to Maki's flin the middle of it.
"What the hell is that thing?!" Yukinari asked in deep fear as the thing that had Maki's head was grotesque.
Maki didn't answer his question, she just stood up. "I don't know, just run!" She yelled at him before she ran back to the hospital in a surprising speed.
Yukinari decided to obey her and quickly stood up to follow Maki. Yukinari catched up to her fairly quickly and the two entered the hospital together. The boy with bangs covering his eyes, really wanted to understand what exactly was going on as he was deeply worried about his sister. Looking at Maki, he could tell that she has been running for a while and she was covered in sweat and was panting heavily. Suddenly, however, Maki looks at him with a strange unsure expression. Then, to the boy's confusion. She approached him and started to touch him in a strange way.
"What exactly are you doing?" He asks as she touches his face.
"Sorry, every time I see someone here, it's just an illusion." She explained to him.
"But, where is "here"?" Yukinari asked in confusion. "I came here with Minako and the others to visit you and suddenly, everyone disappeared."
"Minako?" Maki was confused. "How do you know Minako?"
Yukinari had a large sweat drop at the back of his head at that. "I'm her brother."
Maki widened her eyes. "Yukinari?" She finally realized who he was. "I'm so sorry, I didn't recognized you." They only saw each other a few times, so it's understandable.
"Don't worry, but... Please answer my question, what is this place?" Yukinari insisted.
Maki was about to tell him something, but, unfortunately for them. The monster that had Maki's head, approached the Hospital's door. "Get away from the door!" Yukinari yelled at Maki, who obeyed what the said and the two got as far away from the door as possible. As the monster breaks through the door and enters the reception by squeezing itself through the door, still chasing after them. Once it was in, the monster extended one of it's arm in a surprising speed. But to Yukinari's shock, the arm went right past him and grab Maki's leg.
"AAAHHH!" It tried to pull Maki closer to it.
It's after her. Yukinari's response to what was happening, was to search around the room for a weapon. Luckily, he saw a fire extinguisher on the wall. He quickly ran towards, grab it, and smashed into the arm to make it let go of Maki. But unfortunately, once it let go of her leg. It attacked Yukinari by hitting him on the torso, like a giant whip. The impact, sent Yukinari into a nearby wall, dropping the fire extinguisher in the process. The collision with the wall cause considerable damage, as Yukinari was feeling a horrible pain and was having difficult to breath.
However, he didn't had time to regain his breath. As the monster's other arms started to extend themselves to grab Maki once again. "NO!" The terrified Maki screamed in horror as the arms grabbed her arms and legs. "PLEASE HELP ME!" She practically begged the boy who was trying to get up.
I have to help her... Using all of his willpower to stand up, fighting off the pain on his back. He ran to grab the fire extinguisher again and without hesitation, he smashed the arms of the monster in order to free Maki from it's grasp. The creature tried to attack Yukinari again, but he was more prepared this time and manage to evade the creature's attacks. Soon enough, he managed to free Maki. "Run!" He ordered her as it was after her and not him. Maki did what he told her without hesitation due to how terrified she was. Not that could blame though, as the monster having her face was incredibly disturbing.
Suddenly, all of the creature's arms started to extended towards Yukinari's direction as Maki made her way out of the reception. Leaving Yukinari to deal with the creature by himself.
My grandfather's training never prepared me for this, but he always told me to maintain my calm no matter the situation. The chocolate lover thought in frustration as the grotesque monster approached him. As it attacked him with the arms. Yukinari did his best to evade them, but the task was fairly difficult. Some of the hands were trying to grab him, and he defended himself by swinging the fire extinguisher at them. Crap, I can't fight this thing like this. He was looking around the reception, to try to find some way to either attack or escape the monster. But he couldn't find anything. His search however, let him open for attacks, which the monster capitalized by launching one of it's arms straight at Yukinari's stomach. "AAAAHHH!" The boy yelled in pain as the impact launched him all the way across the reception. Once he landed hard on the floor, he quickly stood up once again as his grandfather used to hit much harder than that during training. Dammit! There's no way for me to fight this thing.
"Persona." Suddenly, Yukinari heard a strange voice. "Persona." The name he was hearing was familiar to him, from that dumb game that his sister's friends made him play. "Persona."
"Persona." Yukimari decided to say it out loud.
As soon as that word came out of Yukinari's mouth, time seemed to have stop for a minute or two, all the darkness that surrounded him was replaced by a nearly blinding light. The light was so intense that he had to cover his eyes with his hand to shield them from the intensity. But after a few seconds, he removed his hand, only to see something familiar in front of him. The same creature with multiple wings that the man called Philemon showed him during his dream. But as soon as Yukinari gazed upon the creature, it spread it's wings. Revealing four heads and strange torso that Yukinari didn't know how to describe it. The other creature that however, decided to advantage of Yukinari's distraction once again and attack. But luckily, the creature with wings shielded him from the attacks. It seems like there's a field protecting the creature with wings from the creature with Maki's head.
After a few failed attacks, the creature with wings finally did something, suddenly a strange glowing ball appeared in front of it,the ball was shining and resembled the sun, only with a slightly more pale color. To the boy's shock however, that glowing ball suddenly released a strange energy beam into the monster, that was so intense that it pushed Yukinari into the wall due to the intensity of it on such a small space. Luckily however, it was ten times worse to the creature that was on the receiving end of it. As upon impact, that energy beam pushed the creature out of the hospital and made it pass through the building in front of the hospital, to the point where the building itself collapsed as a result. "Woah!" That was the response as he sees the power of the creature with wings, as the relatively large building collapses.
Once the beam of energy dispersed, the winged creature disappeared in tin air without leaving a trace. "What?" Yukinari said in response. "Where did it go?" He asked himself out loud as he looked around. But with the monster now gone, Yukinari remembered the situation, which was the whole, everyone going missing. And there was only one thing he could do to try to figure it out. "Maki?" Yukinari called the girl's name.
The boy with bangs covering his eyes started to search for his sister's friend. Hoping to get an explanation for what is going on and what exactly was that monster. He left the reception desk to look around for her as he has no idea where she went after he told her to run.
But as soon as he stepped his foot on the next room, something happened, in a split second, the whole place became a bit warmer than before and brighter. Suddenly, he heard noises coming from the reception and he turned around to see. To his shock however, the people that he saw when he entered the hospital with his sister and his friends, were back. What?! Where did this people went? Yukinari thought in shock as he stepped back at the reception and noticed something. All the destroyed parts from his fight with that monster was gone, like it never happened. He suddenly moved toward the entrance and saw that, the building that just collapsed on top of that monster was back into place as well. "What the hell?!" It was all that he had to say about that. There's no way that was a dream or an hallucination, my body hurts from that fight. Yukinari was certain of it.
"Hey!" Suddenly, he heard someone calling him. The chocolate lover turned around and saw Maki standing at the door that she went through to escape just a moment ago. She approached Yukinari. "A-are you okay?!" The sickly looking girl asked him.
"No, what the hell was that?!" It was the only thing he wanted to know. "And why did everyone suddenly reappeared after suddenly disappearance?!" Yukinari yelled at her to ask as he was confused as hell. But that caused the people at the reception room to stare at them
"I... I don't know how to explain." She answered his question. "It all started whe-" Maki was telling him something but stopped mid setence and held her head in apparent pain. "Aaaaahhhh..."
"Hey, are you okay?" Yukinari asked her in worry before grabbing her arm gently.
"No..." Out of nowhere, Maki's nose stared to bleed and she collapsed into Yukinari's arms.
"Hey!" Yukinari called her. "Someone help me!" He yelled while holding Maki on his arms.
"Where did you get those bruises?!"
After some of the hospital staff grabbed Maki and took her back to her hospital room. Yukinari was immediately questioned about how did Maki left her room and arrived at the Reception. The only thing he could do, was invent a lie as no one would believe him if he told them about the monster. So he told them that he saw Maki walking around the corridors and decided to follow her as he was aware of her condition. The hospital staff bought his explanation but his sister and her friends didn't as they said that they saw Maki in the room and she disappeared out of nowhere. But Yukinari's story was more believable, so they just assumed that the others just didn't saw her sneaking out of the room. They then proceed to ask them to leave as Maki needed to rest.
But on their way out, Minako noticed Yukinari's bruises.
"I fell down the stairs while I was following Maki." It was the best excuse he could come up with.
"Stop lying to me!" Minako told him in anger. "I know perfectly well that you lied to the doctor and nurse as well." She sounded upset. "I hate when you lie to me!" That was the reason.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you the truth." Yukinari told his sister sadly as he hates to make her upset. He then reached his backpack to grab the other chocolate that he got from that machine.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Minako was clearly confused.
Before Yukinari could reply to his sister, they interrupted by Brown, due to them arriving at his home which was the closest one. "Well, see you guys tomorrow."
Yukinari, although still in confused about the situation, remembered something. "Bass guitar or a kick on the face, choose now." He said to the attention whore as soon as he finished his chocolate.
"What?" Minako asked in confusion.
"This idiot bet a bass guitar with Yukinari on a dumb bet that he completed and now is trying to evade paying it." Kei explained his step-sister. Who in turn, looked at Brown angrily.
"What kind of bet?" Minako was visibly angry because Brown's dumb bets are infamous through out the school.
"A very lame bet that I have no idea what he expect to gain from it, but I did it for a Bass guitar and I want it now." Yukinari spoke before he approached Brown.
Brown looked frightened, before he looked at his friends for help. Unfortunately, most just looked away, except for Minako, who folded her arms and stared at him apprehensively. Brown just lowered his head sadly in defeat as result of his lack of support.
"Do I wanna know where did you got that?"
That was the first thing that Yukinari's grandmother asked as soon as he entered his home with a nice looking blue and white Bass Guitar that he got from Brown.
"No." It was his answer. Before he played a few notes on it.
"Okay." His grandmother replied. As Yukinari had an habit of bringing things home and as long as he doesn't steal anything, she doesn't care. "Wanna help me with dinner?" She asked Minako.
"Sure." She put her backpack down and removed her shoes to enter.
Yukinari sighed in relief as he was worried that Minako would drag him to take a bath with her.
"But first, I'm gonna wash Yukinari's back." Minako told her before turning to look at Yukinari.
The chocolate lover sighed once again, but this time, it was in annoyance as he hates bathing with his sister. Mainly due to how embarrassing it is to be naked with his sister and because she scrubs him way too hard. He looks at his grandmother for support, who just folded her arms at him.
"If you'll just learn how to wash yourself properly, she wouldn't have to join you in it." His grandmother lectured before turning her back at him.
"Come on." His sister extended her hand to him.
Yukinari seeing no way out, decided comply.
After the usual uncomfortable bath with his sister and eating fried fish for dinner. Yukinari decided to call it a day due to exhaustion.
"So, are you going to tell me what really happened to Maki?" Of course, his sister joined him at his futon.
"A giant monster attacked her and I fought it using a fire extinguisher until a monster with wings showed up and kill it with a energy beam." He admitted to her.
Unfortunately, not that expected otherwise, Minako looked at him with a very annoyed face "Fine!" His step-sister yelled before she turned her back at him. "Don't tell me then."
But I did... He knew that she wouldn't believe it but he hated when Minako was mad at him. So he decided to do something. "The truth is, I don't know either, Maki passed out before she could tell me." Not wanting leave it at that, he decided to give her some type of explanation.
To his fortune, that explanation seemed to work better. His sister turned again to face him. "If that's the case, let's pay her another visit tomorrow to get an explanation." She suggested.
Honestly, Yukinari was planning to do that anyway. As he really wanted to understand what exactly happened, alongside the fear of the possibility of happening again. "Can it be just the two of us?" Yukinari doesn't really like her friends and he wasn't on the mood to deal with them.
"Of course." Minako smiled and then hugged him.
Honestly, I'm seriously considering in taking grandfather's sword to visit Maki. He thought as he was afraid of encountering another monster. But... That monster with wings seemed to be on my side and... Persona... It appeared after I said that word... What does it mean...?
"Persona." The word escaped his lips by accident.
"What?" His sister asked.
"Nothing." He quickly said. "Good night, Sis."
"Good night, Little Bro." Minako told him before squeezing him into a hug.

Again not demons those four are Persona in this as for more I also meant to suggest Persona's that tend to be the unlocked Persona for completing a social link so lie Mother Harlot for example
Also yes I do hope his female Persona's and even the female Persona's of the other girls like Ann's persona Carmen/Celestine and the ones Minako gets can be part of the pairing
Oh and hope as he gets older we see Yukinari spring up in terms of height to the point he towers over say Minako
Don't know why this just occurred to me but considering Yukinari's intense love of Chocolate which of the girls is going to bring that in during private fun time haha
Talking of Ann reminds me please for the love of god have Yukinari keep Shiho and Ann plus all the girls safe from Kamoshida like Yukinari's simple presence unnerves scum like Kamoshida and a fun detail could be Kamoshida feels so insecure and inadequate around Yukinari that in his palace the cognitive Ann and Shiho brush him off and throw them selves all over Yukinari
Speaking of Persona 5 hope Yukinari is either able to prevent the God of Control from taking Igors place or if he still does Yukinari immediately notices and boots him out the velvet room
Like the idea of the God of Control fleeing to the bottom of mementos and cowering at the fact Yukinari is gradually getting closer

Let's just say, Yukinari will have to use all of his self-control to not beat that scum to a pulp.
Yukinari will kind of have a love for the members of the Valvet Room, so much that Igor considers him a friend, even though Yukinari despises his creator. {The guy that gave him the contract on the first chapter.}
Can I ask do you know what Yukinari's phantom thief outfit when we hit the Persona 5 Royal segment of this story will be like or will he just wear the costume that appears on Ren/Akira at that point
Or will it be something grander like maybe his phantom thief outfit comes with a fur lined coat or something I don't know haha
Before Ren, there was another Joker. Who was one of the main antagonists in Persona 2 and Yukinari will kind of kill him, so the answer is no.
Yukinari will use an outfit that resembles an Samurai and his mask will resemble a Oni Mask.
I already feel bad for the protagonist since by the time he have to interact with the P3 cast he probably have to lose some of his brain cells in order to be able to talk with them in the same level
P3 cast are arguably the dumbest persona characters since unlike the P4 and P5 gang they can't figure out who is the traitor among them until everything was too late and someone died, heck the traitor would definitely succeed if it wasn't for Mitsuru's father asking them where the traitor is during the celebration party after the last full moon boss fight since the P3 gang are too incompetent in anything that doesn't involve fighting
Yukinari will kind of be the most experienced of the group to a certain degree as he has been dealing with shadows longer.
I agree with you about the P3 cast and expect some changes as Yukinari is a bit paranoid once P3 story comes along and let's just say that he will soon figure it out that something is wrong.

Reading about Minako reminded me that I really hope that when it comes for Persona 3 ending we don't see Yukinari or Minako having to sacrifice themselves and become the block on humanity's desire to die
Which reminds me in the far future when we get the events of Persona 5 royal wrapped up can Yukinari think to himself right hope that's the last negative manifestation of humanity's desires I have to deal with as by this point he'd have dealt with

Anyway cool seeing Persona 1 crowd going to be fun learning about them

Well he's is the wild card having a ton of Persona is his deal haha looking forward to seeing what he gets and good to know he'll be getting all the ultimate persona and I do hope that he keeps them and his power going into the events of the next game
So you know in game terms he'd already be level 100 at the start of Persona 4 and he'd have Messiah etc
I know these are also far off but in the classic hot spring segments instead of hiding and trying to sneak out can Yukinari just stay and greet the girls and share the bath with them
Also when it comes time for the Lovers Arcana shadow in persona 3 when they are in the love hotel can Yukinari find himself in a room with Minako, Yukari and Mitsuru
Lastly is he going to meet and befriend some of the girls before their allotted game like Rise

Well, the best way I can say it without spoiling anything is that, while everyone is like "Let's honor our friend sacrifice by living our lifes to the fullest." Yukinari is like "Fuck that shit, I'm coming back to save her, even if I have to beat every single one of you to do it."
Yukinari kind of becomes depressed by the events of Persona 5, manly because he's separated from his family {Minako, Nanako and Dojima (Minako is Dojima's niece through his late wife)} and friends {Persona 4 cast} and kind of welcomes the struggle to keep his mind off of it.
Not much to learn about them as they're not really that interesting.
The shadow was Pandora, the final boss of Persona 1. And no, he only beat his first form but the second one won't be so easy.

Yup.
Imagine Yukinari is listening to his headphones, while the guys try sneak off once the girls enter but leave him behind. Once they find him, Minako notices that he is focusing on the music and covers his eyes and removes the headphones and says hi. He apologizes several times while saying that the guys were supposed to warn him once the time was up, which causes the girls to catch the guys who were still there and they decide to execute them, except for Yukinari, who ended up enjoying the bath some more. {Causing the guys to be furious that he was the only one that got away with it.}
Oh, no, it will be just Yukari but... Let's just say that... They're not gonna snap out of it in time. {If you know what I meanm
