Katori has never been a morning person. No matter how much she's tried to wake herself up at a reasonable hour and get a productive start to the day, she's always found herself snoozing five million times until she has to drag herself out of bed at the very last possible moment. So naturally she stands, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes barely awake at the crack of dawn. She glances around at her other classmates, noticing that none of them seem to be freshly awake at this ungodly hour either.
She wears high waisted black leggings and a pink cropped hoodie that shows a sliver of her midriff, and completes the outfit with her white goggles placed on her forehead and white sneakers. She ties her hair back in a high ponytail to keep her hair from her face, but is too lazy to style it in a bun to hide her Quirk.
She rubs the sleep out of her eyes as she practically falls asleep standing up while Aizawa informs them that their day will consist of breaking their Quirks and pushing them past their natural point of exertion in order to build them back up like the muscles of their bodies. He begins distributing the students in their respective areas of improvement, informing each of them how he expects them to work on and build their Quirk.
After he is finished placing the students in their training areas, Aizawa approaches the sleepy girl with menacing eyes and a sinister smile that creeps up the side of his face. "You're with me," he says in a tone that tells Katori she's going to hate this.
"Please no," she groans sleepily.
"Is that a complaint I hear?" Aizawa asks with a larger smile crawling up the side of his face that she returns with a grumble. "It's so early, I'd hate to start the day off with twenty sprints around the camp."
As expected, within minutes of their fight, Aizawa is launching dirt in her face, using his scarf to capture her, and forcing her to run sprints. Midoriya watches their fighting techniques with one another, neither using their Quirks, but both moving at an unmatchable speed.
"Even without using her Quirk, Satsuma manages to move faster than most of our classmates. Her timing and quick maneuvering challenges the likes of Kacchan's!" the green-haired boy mutters excitedly as he takes mental notes of her movements. He can see that she moves with a combination of Bakugo's and Aizawa's movements, both quick, light on her feet, and fast changing so she remains unpredictable.
She begins running as quickly as she can towards Aizawa, charging towards her teacher in unpredictable zig-zag movements to evade his scarf. He kicks up some dirt towards her face, but she slides on her feet, swiping under the cloud of dust and smashing into Mr. Aizawa's legs. To her dismay, she does not knock him off of his feet as she anticipated him to. "Expecting another outcome?" he teases her as she kicks herself to her feet before he can entrap her in his scarves.
"I hate this!" she announces angrily with a groan. "We've been at it for hours! Shouldn't you focus on your other students?"
"That's a great idea," Aizawa says with a sinister smile that tells her she should have remained quiet. "Why don't you run twenty laps around the camp while I'm gone. Actually, make it thirty for complaining."
"Ugh!" she growls and he gives her a threatening look to add another ten laps, but she begins running away before he can.
She starts running around the camp while the other classmates work on their Quirks in their own way. She can hear the explosions coming from Bakugo's Quirk as he stands over a barrel of boiling water, plunging his hands into the water and expelling the built-up nitroglycerine in a large explosion above his head.
Her eyes move from him to Todoroki who sits in a barrel full of water. He changes the temperature of the water in the barrel with his Quirk, regulating his temperature, while also building up both of his Quirks.
All the students work amongst themselves as they develop their Quirks and push them past the point of their natural exertion points. Every time Katori laps around the camp, she glances at a new classmate and takes solace in the fact that they are also suffering like she is.
After her rounds around the camp, Katori huffs and puffs her way towards Mr. Aizawa where she hopes he will not give her more laps to run. She notices that Class 1B has joined them in their training, and she's actually excited to see what other Quirks she can work with and duplicate.
Her eyes land on Monoma and they narrow their glares at one another. Though he is similar to her, she knows she's better than him, and his Quirk does nothing for her.
She moves her eyes away from him and stands next to Kaminari, watching as Aizawa speaks with two other members of the Pussycats that have joined the group. She overhears their conversation in how the quadruplet hero group as well as Mr. Aizawa and Vlad King will be watching all forty-one students while they are here.
Kaminari mentions that the yellow Pussycat is cute for her age and when she looks at her, she overhears her say, "I'm Ragdoll, and my Quirk is Search. I can look at up to one hundred people and know everything about them! Like their location and weakness."
Katori's eyes widen and she takes a step behind Kirishima, as if involuntarily moving away from the woman. This will prove difficult with a Quirk like that here. If she looks at her and sees that Katori has been in contact with her father this whole time, her cover is fully blown and she will be expelled, or even worse… arrested. She makes a mental note to go nowhere near her.
"With my earthflow, I can make the ideal training ground for every student!" Pixi-Bob explains.
"And my Quirk is called Telepath," Mandalay begins. "I can give advice to multiple people at once!"
"The name's Tiger," the large male Pussycat states. "And I'm here to beat you all to a pulp," he smiles as Katori gulps. "All you kids with strength Quirks, time for Tiger's bootcamp!" He runs over to Midoriya who trains his body in aerobics since he still can't seem to use his Quirk without hurting himself too much, though he has greatly improved.
Midoriya moves to hit the large man with his Quirk, but he quickly evades the attack and smashes Midoriya into a tree. Tiger begins to drill into Midoriya like a sergeant, while the others continue to speak on how they will separate the students amongst the teachers for training.
Katori begins to panic, hoping that she is not given to Ragdoll who will use her Quirk on her and learn her entire life story, but her heart begins to beat again when Mr. Aizawa calls her to his attention. "Katori, Bakugo, Midoriya, Todoroki; you're all with me."
The four of them move towards their teacher as the others are distributed amongst the other teachers. Katori glances over at Bakugo, noticing his eyes on her and she quickly darts away from his glare, feeling her butterflies ready to burst out of her fragile bubble.
Mr. Aizawa turns to the four of them, surveying at each of them with a bored look on his eyes. "I've brought you all together because I believe that each of your strengths are one another's weaknesses. Individually, you are each strong and your Quirks are powerful, however, together you pile over one another in an effort to outshine the other. I plan to work with each of you as a whole to strengthen you in areas where you lack."
"Bakugo," he says turning to the blonde. "It's no secret you need to work on tandem fighting," he says as the boy pouts with his arms crossed over his chest. "Todoroki, you rely on your ice too much, and neglect your left side, which leaves you open for attacks from the left," he says and the boy respectfully nods at his assessment.
"Midoriya," Aizawa exhales, "Though your internship has helped, you are still damaging your body when using your Quirk, especially in combat situations," he says and the boy nods insecurely. "Lastly, Katori, you're still overwhelmed in battle, and often freeze up when the situation becomes overwhelming for fear of hurting your opponent or overexerting yourself. Not to mention that you're still not using multiple Quirks at once, which sets you apart from a generic copy Quirk," he says and she takes in a labored breath.
"So, I have formulated an exercise to exploit and challenge each of these drawbacks," Aizawa says and Katori can already tell she's going to hate this plan. "A three on one battle," he announces. "Bakugo, Midoriya, and Todoroki... against Katori."
"What!" she calls out glancing up at her teacher. "How is that fair?"
"It's not," he tells her. "The boys are at a disadvantage since you can copy and use all their Quirks at once. But I am confident they can keep up."
"You know I can't use all of their Quirks at once for more than a simple attack; I'll over exert myself. Not to mention that you told me I could literally die during my internship!"
"And during said internship you trained up your body to withstand the adverse effects of a power-type Quirk. I trust that you've learned what you need to succeed in this."
She glances over at the boys, reading each of their expressions, hoping they see how insane of a request this is, with only Midoriya being worried for her, while Todoroki's face remains neutral, and Bakugo's holds an excitement in it. "So, no holding back?" Bakugo asks lifting small explosions from his palm.
"Not a bit," Aizawa tells him. He turns to Katori, seeing the panic in her eyes. "Don't worry about draining more than you have in the past. Your threshold over their Quirk can increase."
"But you said—"
"I will be here to stop you, if need be," he tells her, stopping her from expressing her fears of taking their powers permanently before she can voice them. She releases a shaky breath as she turns to the three boys.
"Give it your all," Aizawa tells them. "Attack as a group, and don't hold back."
"This is insane," Katori whines as she takes her stance.
Before she can complain any further, she hears Bakugo roar with a war cry as he launches himself at her. She instinctively takes a bit of his Quirk and launches an explosion at his face. She backs up when a giant ice wall pierces through the cloud of debris from her attack. She blows up the wall as Midoriya launches from the top of the structure, moving to punch her when she dodges him at the last second.
"You're only using one Quirk," Aizawa observes unenthusiastically.
She growls to herself as Bakugo launches himself into the sky above her. She points her hands into the sky, sending a large explosion at him when Midoriya comes from behind her, punching her in the shoulder and sending her flying against a tree. "Sorry!" he calls out to her.
Her body trembles as she lifts herself to her feet, shaking her head of the pain. Todoroki sends another wall of ice her way and she dodges it by summersaulting out of the way.
She begins running away from him, eyes focusing on the location of each boy. She knows that Todoroki won't use his fire on her while they are in the woods for fear of burning the forest, so he is at a disadvantage on his left. Midoriya can move around with his Quirk without hurting himself, but any hard hits on her body will cause him to hurt himself as well, so she will need to get him to make an impact on someone other than her. Then there's Bakugo.
Before she can assess him, he launches himself at her from above. She swipes her head out of his warpath and pushes him away from her. But when he lands at her feet, he releases an explosion on the ground that sends her flying in the air. She growls as she turns back at him, taking bits of his Quirk and retaliating with another explosion in the face.
"So far you haven't even touched Midoriya or Todoroki," Aizawa mentions offhandedly.
Katori rolls her eyes and glances over at Todoroki, grabbing his Quirk and launching an ice wall towards his left. The boy struggles to dodge it, and she sends another ice wall at Midoriya as he stands watching the attack. She hears Bakugo coming towards her and she begins to feel her heart beating heavily with the early stages of panic.
She turns towards him, lifting a wall of ice between them that he quickly explodes and lands on top of her. He moves for an explosive punch to her face, but she assumes his Quirk and shoots him off of her with a large blast, sending him flying in the air.
She rolls back onto her feet and takes Midoriya's Quirk, punching the green-haired boy and sending him flying into the sky as well. She uses Midoriya's Quirk to punch a wall of ice that Todoroki retaliates with, taking his Quirk and using another wall of ice against Bakugo who attempts to hit her from behind in a sneak attack.
Her heart races wildly and a soft whimper builds in her throat as all three boys begin charging at her. She quickly creates a thick igloo to cocoon herself in as she falls to her hands and knees. She breathes erratically as she tries to gather her barrings, hearing Bakugo's muffled yells as he launches attacks at her igloo, slowly chipping away at the structure.
Aizawa shakes his head at her response, seeing that she is still panicking in battle and needs to clear her head. Despite putting her in frustrating situations during her internship, she's still out of control when against power Quirks.
Bakugo manages to pierce through the igloo and Midoriya comes flying down, punching the ground next to Katori, launching her in the air from the shockwave of his attack.
She rolls on the ground, lifting herself to her feet quickly before Todoroki hits her with a wall of ice that he retaliates with.
"Still not using all three at once," Aizawa shakes his head.
A few of the other students begin watching the fight, noticing the excitement of a three-on-one battle, and stop their training to observe the match and commentate.
Katori's breaths begin to become staggered as she fights against their continued attacks. She takes in a few sharp breaths when Bakugo comes in for another vicious attack. She grips her chest, feeling a stinging pain of a panic attack hitting her torso and her hands shake as she turns to him.
Bakugo uses his explosions to fly towards her, and she quickly begins draining his Quirk and launching herself away from him. She launches herself into the air backwards as she keeps her eyes on him, not allowing herself to stop as she pulls out of him more than she needs to copy it. She keeps her eyes on his, while still launching themselves in the air. Her purple gaze doesn't leave his red-hot stare as she pushes to keep draining from him.
Bakugo's explosions begins sputtering and he free falls to the ground.
Katori immediately blinks as panic sets in. "Bakugo!" she cries out running to him with worried furrowed brows as he crashes to the ground. She falls to the ground harshly without his Quirk to land gracefully. She goes to move to him when he lifts himself to his shaky legs.
"That Quirk…" he breathes as he holds onto his ribs, "is so… damn annoying!" he roars as he launches a significantly weaker explosion at her. The hit strikes her dead in her face, and it barely knocks her around, making her realize she took far too much of his power.
"Keep going," Aizawa commands as Katori watches him for guidance. "We will keep going until you use your Quirk as intended."
Katori swallows hard, burying the building lump in her throat as she moves against the boys. She closes her eyes, saturating them before preparing herself to get this over with.
"Come on, Katori! You got this!" she hears Kirishima encourage her.
"Show those boys who's boss!" Mina cheers.
Katori opens her eyes, assuming Todoroki's Quirk first. She sends an ice wall his way, then moves her eyes to Midoriya's without closing them. She takes his power in conjunction with Todoroki's and freezes his feet to the ground. She begins running, keeping her watering eyes open as she runs around Bakugo to get him in the same firing range as the boys. Her eyes flash on his hard red stare, a lift in her fluttering heart as she takes his Quirk.
The three of them turn to her, preparing for the fight when she takes a firm and hard stance before them. She cries out as her eyes water, begging for her to shut them. Katori pulls her arm back for a hard punch, calling upon Midoriya's Quirk for power, Bakugo's Quirk for explosive impact, and Todoroki's for icy daggers to be shot their way.
The attack his powerful, and launches the boys into the tree line, while also lifting a few trees from their roots. She begins running towards them, knowing that Aizawa will not be pleased with one attack, so she will need to do another attack using all three Quirks.
Todoroki is the first to lift his head and she retakes his Quirk, creating a colossal ice ramp that she runs up to get a vantage point on the boys. She runs to the edge of the ramp, jumping off and freefalling towards the boys. She looks down, grabbing Bakugo and Midoriya into her cache of Quirks and with a large war cry, she launches herself with a combination of the boys' power.
With a mixture of Bakugo's nitroglycerine and Midoriya's strength, lifting her power over his Quirk, she creates a massive atomic explosion that tears at the trees in the immediate area. Once she's landed on the ground, she creates four layers of colossal walls of ice to contain the blast radius to avoid any harm coming to her friends.
Aizawa and the students cover their eyes as the sky lights up with a bright explosion from the girl as the ice barriers hardly hold up the explosion she drives. The sky erupts in a deafening explosion behind the barrier as shards of ice explode and snow down on the students.
She's breathing heavily as she falls to her knees. Droplets of blood drip from her nose and accumulate between her hands as she holds herself up on her hands. She blinks as her white hair falls in front of her face and she focuses on the pool of blood in front of her.
She hears shuffling around her when she notices red shoes approach her vision. She looks up to see a tattered Midoriya weakly smiling at her as he places his hand out for her to take. She hesitantly takes his hand as he helps her to her feet.
She looks around, seeing the blast zone completely eviscerated and decimated of any previous vegetation, while three of the four ice barriers were destroyed by the blast with the final wall barely standing as a barrier against the massive impact.
Todoroki melts the ice wall as the rest of the students come running to join their classmates. "Katori that was so manly!" Kirishima runs to her, grabbing her arms and shaking them with wild excitement. "You should have seen yourself!"
"You made a gigantic mushroom cloud from that explosion! It was like something out of a movie!" Kaminari excitedly adds.
She wipes the blood from her nose with the back of her hand and glances back at Todoroki and Midoriya whose clothes are tattered, but they seem to be in good shape, all things considered.
Her eyes search for Bakugo when she notices that he is a bit worse off than the other boys, remaining seated on the ground as his shirt is ripped off around the left side of his body, with scuffs and scratches around that area.
Katori sends him an apologetic smile and the boy simply turns away from her with a tense jaw. She takes a step towards Aizawa when she feels herself getting lightheaded.
She staggers a bit and Kirishima is quick to catch her. "Woah, are you alright?" he asks the white-haired girl as her eyes begin to flutter.
"I don't feel so—" Katori mumbles and everything around her begins spinning as she sinks into the red-haired boy's arms. Soon, her surroundings fade to black and her body grows limp.
