You know it's weird…Where life takes you…Not at all the direction you wanted to go…But it's somehow the right fit for you…As though someone had…Already laid out the path for you…And gave you a bit of a push...However, don't you feel that sometimes…Just sometimes...That you're being watched?...But is it for the good…Or for the worst?

Charlie marveled at the witch handling the dragon right in front of him–and without any protection whatsoever! In all honesty, the twenty-two year old has never been so scared since he was a child during Voldemort's terror! Vixen had revealed herself when he had shouted to the others to stun the Hungarian Horntail, saying some words that no one can hear over the roar of the dragons, running forward. Charlie's heart had stopped in full panic but then his fellow Dragon Keeper's exclamation of surprise and the lack of restraints on the chain he was holding brought him from his panic.
Then, to his confusion and surprise, he saw what his fellow co-workers were staring and that was that the Horntail was calmed and almost…asleep? Charlie had immediately tightened and fasten the chain on the iron peg, waving his wand to dig the peg down deeper into the ground, as he ran towards the teen. He had wrapped his arms around her waist from the back and pulled her back, her feet off the ground, just as she neared the dragon. As he was pulling her away, the Horntail had seemed to waken and roared with distress, rattling the cage he was in, the chains dangerously being pulled up from the ground again.
Vixen had told him to put her down, and though he didn't want to, Charlie did as he was told and watched as the Horntail calmed down again. He, just like everyone else, watched with utter surprise as the most dangerous dragon riveted with the witch before him, pushing his snout through the bars. Charlie watched as the witch smiles and kneels before the dragon, touching his snout as she made shushing sounds–and many years from now, during the story of how they met, he would tell all those listening that that was the moment he had fallen in love, even with the difference in age.
After the shock has worn off, Charlie watched as she turned to a surprise Hagrid and Beauxbatons Academy Headmistress, Madam Olympe Maxime and muttered a few words that he couldn't hear too well. He watched as both giants muttered something and turned around, returning back down the way they had come–as well as some rustling in the bushes not too far off–waiting about a minute or so before Harry, Ron, and Hermione revealed each other. Vixen then turned to him and smiled, turning to walk away to the next fiery dragon and did whatever she did to the Horntail, letting his co-workers peg down the chains holding the cages.
Once all cages have been chained down and the dragons as calmed as any of them had ever seen, Charlie watched the witch that seemed to puzzle and fascinate him sit crossed-legged in front of the Swedish Short-Snout, rubbing his silvery blue scaled snout and horn. Blinking for a few seconds, the Dragon Keeper seemed to snap out of it and walked cautiously towards her, his eyes on the bright yellow eyes that were tracking him carefully. A rumble of a growl made itself known when he came just behind Vixen, making him tensed up with cautiousness and the witch to chuckle softly with amusement.
"It's all right, love, Charlie won't hurt me," she grinned, looking over her shoulder, her black hair falling over her left face as her bright gray eye stared at him with teasing amusement. "Will you, honey?"
Charlie felt something stir within him at those words and her look, grateful that it was dark enough that she couldn't see his blush. "No," he said quietly, kneeling behind her and brought up a hand to move her hair from her other eye. "No, I won't hurt you, doll."
Vixen could feel herself turning red, pressing her lips together in order to not show him her cheesy smile at the endearment he gave her. It was four days ago that she last received Charlie's letter about seeing him soon and now here he was, rubbing his thumb across her cheek as the rest of his hand was pressed up against her jawline. The Short-Snout huffed as though she was annoyed that she was being ignored, making Vixen laugh and looking back to the bright eyes of the dragon.
"All right you, no need to be jealous, now."
The dragon grumbled as Vixen rubbed her snout down, whispering a sleeping spell for her to rest for the rest of the night. Charlie shakes his head with wonder and stood up, watching as Vixen gives the dragon one last rubbed down and was about to get up. He reached his hands down to her, Vixen gladly taking them, and pulled her up to her feet easily–so easily that she fell against him with a squeak, her eyes wide with surprise as his arms wrapped around her waist.
With a soft smile, Charlie held on to her as he didn't want to let her go just yet. Vixen, with her hands on his upper arms and feeling his biceps–which made her swoon of the muscles beneath his coat–moved up his body and kissed just to the side of his lips. Charlie's arms tensed around her and was about to move his head in order to capture her lips when someone had called out to them and clear their throat. Annoyed, he moved back from the teenager and glared in the direction of his little brother grinning smugly at him and an amused Harry and Hermione.
"Of all the girl's to catch your eye, it had to be one of my best friends!" Ron tells him a bit annoyed, though he did look amused. "You do realize, though, Vi's only fourteen!"
The both of them turning red, they let each other go, Vixen saying, "Says the boy who can't even say a simple hello to a Beauxbatons student!"
This made Ron turn red and both Charlie and Harry to laugh at his expense and Hermione roll her eyes, "I read the article from Rita Skeeter, Harry."
Immediately Harry turned red as he had read some of the articles himself before throwing it into the fireplace in Gryffindor Tower. Vixen was livid when she had read it herself–along with Hermione–and knew that if she came close to that vile woman, a simple karma spell will work very well to stop any more nonsense from that woman. Charlie seemed to notice her anger and pushed some hair from her face, the Wiccan witch taking a deep breath and relaxing, smiling in thanks to the older Weasley.
"Yeah, well, it was all bullshit lies!" Harry said hotly, getting angry at the article all over again.
'Deep breaths, Harry,' Vixen tells him with a look in her eyes. 'That little witch will get what's coming to her the next time I see her, don't worry.'
"Well, mum thinks it's all true and believes that you really do cry over your parent's death without anyone knowing," Charlie tells him with a roll of his eyes.
He imitated his mother's anxious voice, uttering the same words she had said to him not that long ago. Harry cringed at the words, Vixen smacking Charlie in the arm to stop him from saying anything more. He had the decency to look sheepish and apologized to Harry, who shook his head at the older Weasley as it wasn't really his fault that his mother believed every word that the witch had said in the article.
"How about we get back to the school before we get found out that we're not in bed," Vixen suddenly said before turning to Charlie and smiled, brushing a hand down his right arm to interlock their fingers and gave him a squeeze. "I'll be seeing you soon."
Charlie watched the teens disappear into the darkness of the tree line–Vixen looking back and waving at him. He shook his head, his baby brother was right, the witch was too young and had best remember that. Besides, what does a fourteen year old would have with a twenty-two year old? A lot, actually, if their letters were anything to go by. With a groan, Charlie turned and started to inspect the dragons to get them ready for the coming tournament and to get rid of any thoughts about the interesting witch.
Then again, Vixen had seemed to always be interesting since the day they had met and even more when they started to write to each other. No woman or girl has ever interested in him before, it's always been about the animals and the dragons, yet this American witch was able to capture him without too much of a hassle. Charlie had an inkling if his mother hadn't caught on at his childhood home, then she will when his nosy little brother tells her.
"So," Aerie Boardman, a fellow Dragon Keeper, and his supervisor started as she made her way over to him with a grin. "That's the girl who's captured our red-head Dragon Lover."
Charlie felt his entire body flush–the curse of being a ginger, "What are you talking about?"
Aerie laughs, "You're shit at hiding things, Weasley! Even more when you started to receive weekly letters that you didn't want to share with the rest of us."
At a loss for words–only because it was all true–Charlie instead shrugged and went about his job, Aerie's laughter following after him. The older Dragon Keeper shakes her head after the younger wizard and knew that things were going to change once that young witch was old enough. It was also after the witch's graduation that Aerie would win the pooling bet of the two of them getting together from more than half of her fellow Dragon Keeper's.

–First Task–
Vixen cried out Harry's name when the Hungarian Horntail broke from her chains and flew after him. Without any thought, she was able to summon a large hand-held mirror–Hermione keeping the mirror levitating for them to see–that showed Harry trying to get away from his dragon, ignoring the people around her staring into the mirror as well. She was clutching Charlie's arm, who had sat near them during the tournament, hiding her face into his arm when the Dragon came too close to Harry for her liking, knowing that he was bruised up and hurting.
Unfortunately, her mirror only reflected off the windows of the castle, so the vision of Harry wasn't all that cleared and sometimes distorted. Vixen hadn't perfected her Catoptromancy powers in the fact that she can only see other people through a surface reflection, whereas her great-aunt can see someone with no surface reflection. Agnes had told her that she needed to be patient as her Catoptromancy is only her secondary power as her main power, Cryokinesis, comes from her great-grandmother.
Just over an hour ago she had gone to the tent holding the champions to tell Harry good luck–as she was worried sick to her stomach as they weren't sure what to do against the Dragon's–and had entered the tent, hugging him tightly when a flash went off and Rita going on about young love and what not. Right away Vixen had uttered the spell she had created and made sure that the photo Rita's photographer took disintegrated within the camera, everyone within the tent surprised by her words. Vixen had promised the older woman that if she were to write any more false articles concerning her brother and not of the tournament, she would do a lot worse than a simple karma spell and destroying a picture. To say that the older witch was a bit taken aback and fearful of the threat was an understatement.
She was still reeling from the day before when Harry had gone to tell Cedric about the Dragons when Ernie, Hannah, and a few other Hufflepuff's blocked his path into the courtyard, showing off badges that stated their love for Cedric before turning into Potter Stinks. Vixen was on her way to her next class when she came upon the scene and, like Harry, had politely told them to move. When they didn't, she used her powers to place ice beneath their feet, which they slipped away and falling to the floor in a heap of bodies, the Wiccan witch telling them that they should have listened the first time.
Unfortunately, she wasn't popular with her House at the moment, so she had taken to sleeping with Harry in Gryffindor Tower a few nights a week. Most of her peers seemed to have distanced themselves from her but knew to not taunt her or else they were going to get worse than what she did to Draco. Normally, Vixen was the friendliest and kind person anyone has met, going as far as befriending the loners and the different–like Luna Lovegood, a quirky third year that was completely different from anyone and followed her own path.
Vixen cried out for Harry when the Dragon whipped his tail at him, Harry falling from his broom and holding on for dear life on the roof of a window. She screamed when Harry fell from a broken piece, barely catching himself on the roof of a window just below him, struggling to get himself up and reach for his Firebolt as the Horntail continued to get closer. The Wiccan witch turned her head to hide it in Charlie's arm, who quickly wrapped his own arms around her to keep her safe, as Harry continued to try and out-fly the Dragon.
She looked back in time to see the Horntail take the end of the broom, unsteadying Harry and herself. Harry slammed against the hard stone of the bridge while the Dragon hit the top of the roof of the bridge, the both of them falling towards the ground, the Dragon giving it a last roar that echoed all the way to the arena. Her mirror suddenly disappeared, Vixen crying out with fear of what could have happened with her brother. She, like everyone else, started to look up in the skies to find some sort of glimpse of Harry, her grip on Charlie's hand tightening by the second.
Vixen was then the first person to spot Harry and cheer for him, everyone following a few seconds later. Harry, exhausted and hurting, only had eyes for the Golden egg still sitting within the other Dragon eggs and flew low to retrieve it then came to a stop at the entrance of the opening. Vixen was quick to rush over the wooden fence and jumped to the ground of the arena, many of her peers and the Hogwarts professor's crying out to her. She bid no mind to them as she made her way to the steady ground to get to her brother, who was rushing towards her as well.
Harry had just hugged her when a roar was heard and cries of fear–as well as a familiar male voice crying out to both Vixen and Harry–seeing that the Horntail had returned herself to the arena. Harry moved in front of Vixen, letting his sister recite a calming spell without anyone's notice, watching as the Horntail came to a slow stop over her eggs and begin to descend. Vixen slowly came from behind Harry, the Dragon keeping a wary eye on the two teens but not showing any hostility towards them. The Horntail finally came to perch on the rock and made a couple of steps towards her, stopping to growl when he saw Charlie taking hold of Vixen and pushing her behind him.
The Wiccan witch placed a calming hand on the Dragon Keeper's strong bicep and stepped in between the two wizard's, keeping an eye on the Horntail's. The Dragon sat back on her haunches and stretched herself to her fullest, everyone tensed and concerned with what was going to happen next. Suddenly, the Horntail bowed her head, seeming to recognize the old magic that flows through her–something that Vixen had noticed that most magical animals seem to know right away about her Wiccan magic–and bowed her head in return. Growling in content, the Horntail went over to her eggs and laid about in content, grateful to have them back in her possession.
"Let's get out of here," Charlie said, moving the two teens towards the entrance and safety.
Once inside the tent the champions were located, Charlie hugged the Wiccan witch tightly before pulling her back and glaring at her, "What the bloody hell were you thinking!? Don't you realize the danger you had just placed yourself by jumping into the arena!?"
Vixen flushed in embarrassment but smiled nonetheless, bringing up her right hand to touch his cheek, "We weren't in any danger, Charlie. I promise you."
Charlie, his heart still thumping wildly, just shook his head and brought her back in for a tight hug, "You scared the bloody hell out of me, Vi!"
Vixen giggled–Harry stared at her as though she was crazy as she's never giggled in her entire life before–and hugged the older man, loving the fact that she barely reached below his chin. "I can't promise I won't always scare the hell out of you, Harry can attest to that."
Harry nods when Charli looked at him, "It's true. Like me, trouble always seems to find her."
'Especially when demons are involved!' Harry stated to her.
Vixen looks over at him and sticks out her tongue before grinning. Then there was a flash and an annoying giggle coming from the entrance of the tent, Vixen reluctantly pulling back from Charlie to glare at the grinning witch and her photographer. However, the picture that he had just taken disintegrated within the camera, Rita's smile falling and her face paling as she looked from her confused photographer to the young witch. Vixen raises an eyebrow, crossing her arms as she cocked her right hip to the side as she waited for the older witch to say something but she merely laughed nervously and moved away just as the three headmasters from the schools came rushing in.
Dumbledore gave her a stern look but Vixen merely shrugged, looking at Charlie, "Come on, I'll help with the dragons."
Charlie sputtered for a few seconds before going after the young witch, "The hell you're gonna help! Damn it, Black, leave this for the professionals!"
"You're gonna need help, Weasley!" Vixen fired back with a grin.
Harry merely shakes his head, chuckling quietly at his sister, thinking to himself, Stubborn, the both of them!
Charlie had just taken a hold of Vixen's arm when they reached outside and the Horntail roared with fury. All of the Dragon Keepers immediately became on alert and rushed to circle around the Dragon as Charlie pushed Vixen behind her for fear she might get hurt. However, she had immediately pushed away from Charlie, rushing forward as she yelled to the Dragon Keepers as her mind was on keeping the Dragon safe than the other Dragon Keepers.
"Stand down, all of you!"
"Vi!" Charlie yelled as he was close behind her.
Just as his hand barely brushed her arm again, the Horntail roared angrily and jumped up to her feet, slamming a wing near Charlie to put a distance between him and Vixen, roaring. Charlie immediately pulled back, stumbling a couple of steps, as he pulled out his wand as his heart hammered dangerously against his chest with fear, not for himself but for the young witch that caught his interest. Out of all the Dragons, the Horntail was the most dangerous one out of them all and for whatever the reason was, it did not seem to phase Vixen in the slightest.
"Stop, all of you!" Vixen yelled at the confused and fearful Dragon Keepers, placing her hand onto the Horntail's wing, calming her down, "He's only worried for me. No one knows who or what I am." she whispered, soothingly rubbing the animal's wing as she grumbled with content and concern, "He won't ever hurt me, I can promise you this."
"Damn it, Vi!" Charlie muttered fearfully, his mind racing in how to get her away.
Charlie watched with fear and confusion of what was going on, the Horntail grumbling but lifting up her wing. He was confused further when Vixen held out her hand to him with a smile but he couldn't decipher her thoughts. Charlie, who was watching the Dragon intently, was hesitant to take hold of Vixen's hand, not wanting to make a wrong move and put them all in danger. Slowly, he reached forward and was about to bring her away from the danger she had just put herself in, when he was taken aback by Vixen, instead, intertwining their fingers instead and brought him closer.
Charlie immediately tensed, even more, when the Horntail moved close to his face, her grumbles vibrating loudly and through him–or so it seemed. The Dragon stared at him for a few seconds with narrowed and sharp eyes, inhaling and exhaling sharply into his face after seeing whatever it was that she saw in his eyes. She pulled back slightly and bowed her head, almost as though she approved of him, which was completely ridiculous!–His wife would later tell him after their marriage ceremony why the Horntail had acted as protective as she was, surprising and confusing him. His surprise takes to a whole new level when she shows him her wandless magic and tells him of her Wiccan heritage.
The Horntail sets back and relaxes around her eggs, grumbling quietly with content. Vixen merely chuckles and squeezes Charlie's hand as he was still tensed and confused by what just happened, his mind not seeming to wrap around it–just like his fellow Dragon Keepers. With a shake of her head, Vixen lets him go and takes hold of her wand, waving it at the eggs. She shushed the Horntail when she perked up and had her following towards the entrance of where the cages for the Dragons were located.
Charlie looks after her, seeming to be in wonder of her and what she's done, as were the other Dragon Keepers. Aerie comes up next to him and slaps his shoulder, seeming to be grinning with amusement and Charlie knew what she was about to say and instead just shook his head and walked after the younger witch. Nagini laugh's echo after him, making him turn red with embarrassment, only turning even redder when the other Dragon Keeper's laughed at his expense.
Oh, he was never going to live this down!
