Chapter 11 - Luke VS The Rancor

Hi everyone! I plan on doing 3 chapters for this month, so there will be one more chapter before 31st. This is a bit short though, i typed this whenever i was free. so in this chapter, Luke will finish off the Rancor and hopefully by the next chapter they will be at the sarlacc pit.

The Rancor moves past Luke, and as the guard continues to scramble, the
Rancor picks him up and pops him into its slavering jaws. A few screams,
and the guard is swallowed with a gulp. The audience cheers and laughs at the guard's fate.
"They Don't care even about their own" says Shaak Ti horrified.
"When it comes to a hutt palace, it's the survival of the fittest" says Anakin, his tone is a bit shaky and worried.
Padme has calmed down, but her eyes are full of tears.
The monster turns and starts for Luke. The young Jedi dashes away just ahead of the monster's swipe
at him, and picks up the long arm bone of an earlier victim.
The monster grabs Luke and brings him up to his salivating mouth. At the last moment,
Luke wedges the bone in the monster's mouth and is dropped to the floor.
The monster bellows in rage and flails about, hitting the side of the pit, causing an avalanche.
"It seems Young luke is not going down without a fight" says Plo koon Analysing the situation.
"This is exactly why I say that having your lightsaber is extremely important" Obi Wan starts,
"Not now master!" Anakin cuts him off.
The monster crushes the bone in its jaws and sees Luke, who squeezes into a crevice in the pit wall.
Luke looks past the monster to the holding cave beyond. On the far
side of the holding cave is a utility door-if only he can get to it. The Rancor spots Luke and reaches into
the crevice for him. Luke grabs a large rock and raises it, smashing it down on the Rancor's finger.
"Way to go Luke! He's got your sheer will and courage skyguy" Says Ahsoka trying to lighten up the mood.
Everyone disregards her more focused on the unfolding scene in the holovid.
The Rancor lets out a loud howl as Luke makes a run for the holding cave. He reaches the door and
pushes a button to open it. When he succeeds, he sees a heavy barred gate between him and safety. Beyond
the gate two guards look up from their dinner. Luke turns to see the monster heading for him, and
pulls with all his might on the gate. The guards move to the gate and start poking at the young Jedi with spears,
laughing.
"It's a dead end Luke! Get out of there!" Shouts Anakin eventhough Luke cannot hear him.
Luke crouches (against the wall) as the monster starts to reach for him. Suddenly he notices a main door
control panel halfway up the wall. As the Rancor moves in for the kill, Luke picks up a skull from the
cave floor and hurls it at the panel. The giant overhead door comes crashing down on the beast's head,
killing it instantly.
A stunned silence in the audience. Then Obi Wan starts Applauding, followed by a few other jedi while some roll their eyes (Cough* Mace Cough*)
"Yes! That's my son!" Says Anakin Rising from his seat again. Then he turns to Padme and hugs her, who is crying again, this time tears of happiness, that her son survived.
"Despite this, It seems Luke has Anakin's trend of getting into trouble" says Obi Wan.
"I think its too early to celebrate though, the Rancor maybe dead, But Jabba is alive, and I don't think he would be pleased that his rancor is dead." Says kit Fisto.
A startled gasp is heard from the stunned court. There's consternation at this turn of events.
Heads look to Jabba, who is actually turning red with anger. Leia cannot suppress her joy. Jabba utters harsh
commands to his guards and they hurry off.
"Bring me Solo and the Wookiee. They will all suffer for this outrage." Says Jabba in huttese.
The Rancor KEEPERS have come into the cage and are examining their dead beast.
One of them breaks down and weeps. The other glares menacingly at Luke,
who is unworried. Several guards rush into the holding tunnel and take Luke away.
"Looks Luke is even in bigger trouble this time. Only if he had his lightsaber…" said Obi wan.
Anakin just stares at Obi wan with a blank look to imply 'really you are bringing this up now?' to which Obiwan looks down at his feet.
So if you have noticed i have made Windu look like a big jerk. To be honest i don't like Windu at all, (though Samuel L Jackson portrayed the character well, no offense to him). I believe Windu played a very important role and must partially take the blame for Anakin's turn to the darkside. No matter How much Anakin contributed to the Jedi, he always viewed Anakin with a critical eye. Well Let's see how this goes. See you in the next chapter at the end of this month! Until then,
