Chapter 6: Boxing Bopp-A-Roo
On the beach, Shane and Hunter were sparring on the sand, Ami having using a water Shunshin nearby to witness the fight.
"You've never heard of cutting your losses?" Shane asked, landing a kick on Hunter's chest.
"What losses?" Hunter taunted, sending Shane sprawling to the ground and pinning the other Ranger's hands behind his back. "I thought we were just sparring?" he retorted, pushing Shane off before he dealt anymore damage.
"Hey, if you can't keep up, we could get my sister over here." Shane remarked.
"You're a straight comedy, Shane." Hunter snorted.
"Enough." The ice Senshi cut in, using her water chains to hold the pair down. "What have we said about the Wind and Thunder ninjas working together one?" she inquired, releasing the two from their constrains.
"A competitive spirit is healthy…" Shane droned.
"As long as you don't sacrifice honor and friendship." Hunter finished.
"Dude, I was right in the middle of saying that." Shane snapped.
"Alright, pushups." Ami ordered. "Drop!"
"Good one." Hunter retorted and the two started on their punishment.
"It's going to be one of these days." Ami sighed, shaking her head as both Red and Crimson Rangers competed against each other.
"Those guys are still at it." Dustin remarked, Tori's laptop showing Shane and Hunter in yet another race.
"So, let me get this straight, there's a kick-boxing robot kangaroo bouncing around Blue Bay Harbor and they're out playing follow the leader?" Tori echoed.
"Sensei, we need help here." Dustin requested. "Something… sensei-like."
"They must both learn that the best quality of a leader is to understand when to be a follower." Sensei Guinea Pig stated.
"Dude's way deep, especially for a rodent." Dustin chuckled.
"Too bad Serenity never learnt that lesson." Ami noted.
"Cam, the kangaroo clown is back for round two." The transformed Shane reported.
"We need help." Hunter added.
"Got it." Ami nodded, the two brains turning to other three.
"I'm manically mad marsupial!" Bopp-a-Roo declared, happy about his newest upgrade.
"What did he just say?" Tori was confused.
"No idea." Shane shrugged.
"A convenient conflagitory configuration!" Bopp-a-Roo beamed, changing gears and hitting the five Rangers with a wide pink beam. "Ha! Rumblified Rangers!"
"I've enough of this!" Shane growled, the two teams forming the Storm Striker and Thunder Blaster. "Fire!" on cue, both energy blasts merged into one and flew towards Bopp-a-Roo, who immediately formed a barrier.
"What happened?" Shane asked, their attacks were blasted back at them.
"Some kind of shield." Hunter added.
"Actually, it's more of a force field, Hunter." Ami corrected over the com-link.
"Same difference." The Crimson Ranger shrugged when a squeal was heard behind them.
"I did it!" Mariah beamed. "It worked, my shield worked! How cool am I?"
"How lucky are you?" Kapri rolled her eyes, unimpressed.
"Great, the whole family is here." Tori muttered.
"Bopp-a-Roo taught us some new, bigger-ific tricks." Marah giggled as both sisters went up against the Thunder Rangers.
"Let's raise the ruckus to a rather rater-arifi-cated roof." Kapri agreed.
"Did you get any of that?" Blake looked at his older brother.
"Not a word." Hunter shook his head.
"Look deep into my eyes, ranger boy." Marah smirked, lasers shooting out of her eyes which wrapped themselves around Blake, shocking him.
"You cheated!" Hunter snapped, the laughing Kapri punching him to the ground.
"What's the deal with this guy?" Shane contacted Ninja-Ops, after being thrown into a car by Bopp-a-Roo.
"Bopp-a-Roo can only be destroyed by deflecting its energy onto itself." Cam supplied.
"Wait a minute," Ami stated. "Bopp-a-Roo's attacks mainly involve lightning. I remember there is a way to combine the powers of Wind and Thunder. Shane, Hunter," she added. "Think you two can get past your differences and work together on this?"
"Our Princess has spoken." Shane looked over to Hunter. "What do you say?"
"I think it's worth a shot." Hunter concurred. "Can you guys draw the energy from me?" he raised his morpher.
"I could try." Cam noted.
"We're channeling it directly to your ninja sword, Shane." Ami informed.
"Got it!" Shane nodded, a stream of crimson energy shooting out of Hunter's morpher and into his sword. "Hope this works. Ninja Sword, Thunder Power!" he faced his opponent again, his weapon raised as it crackled with lightning energy.
"Ready?" Dustin looked at the rest of the team after Shane defeated Bopp-a-Roo.
"Totally." Blake nodded, both Storm Striker and Thunder Blaster were ready to finish the job.
"Not so fast!" Kapri stopped them as she, Marah and Zurgane joined Bopp-a-Roo. "You thought her shield was good, try mine." She materialized another barrier.
"That looks pretty strong." Tori admitted. "Now what?"
"Everyone," Ami voiced. "Form the Thunder Storm Cannon."
"Thunder what?" the Rangers echoed.
"Trust me." Ami assured.
"Alright." Shane nodded and both teams connected their weapons.
"Look at that thing!" Marah wailed.
"Let's get out of here." Kapri suggested.
"You don't have to tell me twice." Zurgane agreed and the trio vanished.
"Ready?" Hunter asked.
"Fire!" Shane gave the order and fired a large ball of energy at Bopp-a-Roo which shattered the shield and hit the mutant as he exploded.
"Cam, Zoid time." Shane instructed, Marah having sent a 'Scroll of Empowerment' to enlarge Bopp-a-Roo.
"Guys, can you please shut this guy up before he gives me a bigger migraine?" Ami requested.
"Will do." Hunter grinned. "You've heard the Princess, let's finish this."
"Right." The rest of the Rangers nodded and took out Bopp-a-Roo with the 'Lion Blaster'.
