Chapter 7: Pork Chopped
Dustin sighed as he and Shane crawled under the low table in Ninja Ops. "This is so brutal."
"I hear that." Shane agreed.
"Problem, gentlemen?" Sensei asked. "Those who fail to install the cable in time for science fiction marathon shall feel the Wrath of the Unhappy Guinea Pig." He declared, Shane exiting from under the table first and helping Dustin up.
"Sensei, no disrespect, but I'm pretty sure there wasn't anything about cable TV…" Dustin started, handing the plug over to Shane.
"Dustin, he was kidding." Ami assured, shooting a 'you'd better be kidding' look at Sensei.
"Isn't this a little low tech?" Dustin wondered. "Cam has, like, a thousand channels on that."
"How many times do I have to go over this?" the said bespectacled teen questioned. "The satellite surveillance is not a home theater."
Meanwhile, Blake and Tori were sparring with each other.
"I'll take it easy on you this time around." Blake grinned.
"Don't let the blond hair fool you." Tori shot back, catching Blake's next punch and throwing him onto the ground.
"This is gonna to suck." Ami muttered, seeing Blake's wrist was entangled in the wires as he got up. The Navy Thunder Ranger then pulled out the connected wires out of the computer and causing Sensei's TV to shut down.
"Well, that went rather well." Cam muttered.
"Blake, Tori…" Ami gave the two Rangers in blue a warning look.
"I'm sorry, bro." Blake apologized. "Maybe I can help."
"I'll take it from here." Cam cut off all protestations.
"You guys want to head to the Skate Park?" Shane suggested, leaving the two brains to fix the situation. "I gotta practice with my demo."
"Actually, I was going to give Blake a ride to meet up with Hunter." Tori replied.
"You're still coming tomorrow, right?" Shane reminded. "3 o'clock?"
"Yeah, I won't miss it." Tori assured.
"Tori, using your ninja powers for your own personal gain is a very serious infraction of the Ninja Code." Sensei chided, Tori having gathered the rest of the team in Ninja Ops and explained the situation after Hunter and Blake were captured by Trayf. "Not to mention you let your friend down."
"Shane, I'm so sorry." Tori apologized. "If I had stayed at the demo, none of this would have happened."
"Or you might have been captured too." Ami pointed out. "We cannot predict the future. That is why we have rules to govern the present."
"Cam, do you have a reading on this creature's whereabouts?" Sensei looked over at his son.
"I found a major hotspot on top of the Harbor Office Tower." Cam reported.
"Ready?" Tori looked at her teammates. On cue, the three morphed.
"Well, well, nice entrance." Trayf taunted. "But if you ever wanna find your Thunder buddies, you're going to follow my curly tail through the portal. Come and get me, Rangers!" he sang, opening a red and white portal behind him before jumping through it and disappearing.
"Stop!" the three Rangers chorused.
"We've got to go after him." Tori insisted.
"What?" Dustin echoed. "Through that thing?"
"Come on!" Shane decided.
"Wait, slow down." Cam stopped them. "I've got a lock on the portal door and it won't hold for… more about 10 minutes, max."
"We'll call you if we need help." Shane assured.
"You're on your own." Cam reminded. "I'll have no way to contact you while you're inside."
"In that case, I'm going out there." Ami decided.
"Hold on!" Cam protested.
"Mercury Frost Power!" Ami ignored him, transformed and vanished in a swirl of water.
"I'll hold the portal open for as long as I can." Millennial Sailor Mercury told the three Wind Rangers.
"Right." Shane nodded. "We'll have to work fast." With a unison nod, the trio jumped in.
Sliding her Mercury Goggles over her eyes, the ice Senshi sighed. "Considering I've never used this before... Hyperspatial Sphere Generate!" she cast her spell, chronolocking the portal within the portal.
"The portal!" Shane gaped, the portal opening above them after they destroyed Trayf.
"Let's get out of here." Tori nodded and the three were sucked into the gateway.
"Was about time." Millennial Sailor Mercury smiled as the three appeared before her.
"That roast is toast." Dustin grinned, high-fiving Shane.
"And what about Hunter and Blake?" Millennial Sailor Mercury asked. "Okay, forget my question." She muttered, both Thunder Rangers flying out of the popcorn bag.
"Are you guys alright?" Tori asked, the two Thunders were then bathed in popcorn flavoring.
"You kind of reek, though." Dustin pointed out.
"Artificial butter flavoring." Hunter answered.
"Too much information, Hunter." Millennial Sailor Mercury winced.
"You didn't think you could destroy me in my old dimension, did you?" the enlarged Trayf roared.
"Shane, call for the Zoids." Millennial Sailor Mercury instructed, as Mariah and Kapri appeared with a group of Kelzaks. "Hunter, Blake."
"You read my mind." Hunter nodded.
"The Zoids are on their way, Shane." Cam reported.
"While it may be artificial flavoring, it doesn't make it any less slipperier." Millennial Sailor Mercury noted amusedly, seeing one Kelzak slip on the yellow goo. "Hunter, Blake, move!"
"Right. " Hunter nodded, noticing the ice Senshi powering up an attack.
"Ice Wyvern!" Millennial Sailor Mercury let her ice dragon loose on the Kelzaks, destroying the entire troop and forcing Mariah and Kapri to retreat.
"That's one cold attack." Blake joked. "Pun intended."
"Come on Cinderella, drop the mop." Blake entered Ninja Ops and seeing Tori cleaning up. "I've got two more tickets to the film festival. Only this time, we won't invite the pig. Not you, sensei." He added, hearing Sensei's cough.
"I'll love to but I can't." Tori replied.
"Paying your debt to society, huh?" Blake noted.
"I deserve it." Tori admitted. "I should've told you guys that I had plans."
"I would have understood." Blake nodded. "I'm not exactly the best at dates myself."
"Look at that spot on the floor." Tori stammered. "I'd better go clean it."
"You know, if those two are going to keep dancing around each other…" Ami muttered, unamused as she and Cam watched from the side door.
