Chapter 14: Sensei Switcheroo
"Hey guys," Dustin entered Storm Chargers. "I want you to meet my dad. This is Hunter, Blake, Cam and Ami."
"I'm Jake." the older man introduced himself. "Dustin's told me everything about you guys."
"Not... everything." Dustin mumbled, seeing the looks the guys were giving him. "I promise."
"Good, I'll hate to 'Ice Coffin' you." Ami nodded.
"And this is my boss, Kelly." Dustin pulled Kelly aside.
"Can I help you with something?" Kelly asked.
"We stopped by to get some gloves." Dustin explained. "Dad trashed his last pair."
"You guys ride together?" Blake was surprised.
"That is so cool." Hunter gaped.
"I taught him everything he knows." Jake added.
"Yeah, that's true." Dustin admitted.
"A guy and his dad." Hunter sighed as Dustin led his father off. "I missed that."
"Yeah, me too." Blake nodded.
"So do I." Cam sighed.
"What are you talking about?" Hunter gave him a look. "At least your dad is still around."
"Somehow, high-fiving a guinea pig just isn't the same." Cam shook his head.
"At least you three knew your fathers; I don't even remember mine." Ami pointed out.
"One who is lost in thought is still lost, son." Sensei walked up to his silent son who had taken out the family photo.
"I guess it shows." Cam sighed.
"You're missing your mother." Sensei guessed.
"And father." Cam added. "So much has happened to me, to us."
"I'm always here for you, Cam." Sensei assured.
"I know you are." Cam nodded. "And I know I should be grateful you're even alive. But sometimes..."
"Sometimes a guinea pig Ninja Master is no replacement for a real-life father." Sensei finished the sentence.
"You think you'd ever get unstuck, Grandpa?" Aiko wondered.
"To do what Lothor has done will take a mighty power source." Sensei told his faux granddaughter. "One far greater than my energy alone."
"Dad..." Aiko gaped at Cam who was looking intently at his Samurai Amulet. "I don't think I like what you're thinking..."
"I've adjusted the energy of my morpher to reconstruct the subatomic level." Cam explained. "Which in theory, would make my father human again."
"You sure you want to do this, Senshi?" Tori asked as Sensei hopped onto the platform.
"I am ready." Sensei nodded.
"Here goes." Cam activated the morpher.
"I don't think that sounds right." Ami frowned.
"I don't know." Cam replied. "The energy might be too intense. Shane, pull the main interface cables. Everyone, okay?" he asked after Shane unplugged the wires.
"Something's different." Shane remarked in Sensei' body. "I can feel it in my whiskers."
"Dad?" Cam gawked.
"Dude. Who'd you calling dad?" Shane chided.
"I am here, Cam." Sensei voiced in Shane's body.
"No way." Tori blinked.
"I think we have a problem." Cam noted.
"You think?" Ami deathpanned.
"This can't be happening." Tori frowned. "Shane is in Sensei's body, and Sensei is in Shane's body?"
"That would appear to be the case." Sensei concurred.
"And if that weren't bad enough," Aiko added. "The force of the elemental pulse has short out all of Ninja Ops. Great idea, Dad."
"Is that sarcasm I hear, Aiko?" Ami was amused.
"You know," Tori grinned at the shrunken Shane. "You're kinda of cute when you wrinkle your nose like that."
"This isn't funny, Tori." Shane chided. "I can't be a guinea pig today. I have a skate demo."
"Not to mention what we're supposed to do when Lothor attacks." Cam added. "We're on backup power as it is."
"We have no let anyone know what occurred." Sensei advised. "I will uphold your skating obligation."
"No offense, Sensei." Tori shook her head. "You may look like Shane, but skate like Shane? No way."
"You must not underestimate the power of the Ninja Master." Sensei remarked. "Cam, stay here and correct the situation. Tori, take me to the Skate Park."
"What am I supposed to do?" Shane complained. "I'm starving!"
"Here you go." Tori grabbed the packet of hamster food on the table. "Try some of this. We'll be back as soon as we can."
"Say, does Aiko have any games other than Chess?" Shane asked, after Sensei and Tori left.
As an answer, Aiko's dress changed into a military outfit, and a screen appeared behind her.
"Is that Doom?" Shane asked.
"Yes." Aiko said.
"Interesting..." Shane nodded.
"I really hope this works." Cam sighed as he rebooted the mainframe. "There. After the skate demo, I can switch you back."
"I hope your dad is as good as skating as he is at everything else." Shane noted. "I have a certain reputation, you know."
"Relax, what could go wrong?" Cam assured.
"You just had to say it, Dad." Aiko muttered, a screen materialized before them, showing a group of Kelzaks in the Skate Park facing the Wind Rangers.
"There." Cam reconfigured the computer again. "By implementing a new wireless power supply, I think I've fixed the problem."
"So, it'd work this time?" Tori ventured.
"As long as nothing interrupts the energy flow." Aiko added. "But I'm crossing my fingers on that one."
"Here goes." Cam activated the transformer.
"It's working." Dustin beamed, his hands touching the energy surge.
"Cam..." Ami looked at Cam.
"Legs!" Shane whooped. "I've got legs. I'm me again!"
"Grandpa," Aiko turned to the guinea pig. "How do you feel?"
"Like I can go for a big bag of sunflower seeds." Dustin replied.
"Don't tell me..." Aiko muttered.
"We seemed to have solved one problem and created another." Sensei remarked in Dustin's body.
"Oh boy..." Tori sighed.
"What is he doing in the shopping district?" Aiko wondered when the screen showed Footzilla stomping around.
"I don't think he's looking for burros." Shane added.
"Have the Thunder Rangers meet us there." Sensei instructed.
"I'll join you after we fill them in." Cam added.
"Beserker Bolt!" Jupiter's lightning bolts shot forward, too fast for Footzilla to block and forcing the monster back.
"Cosmic Chain Explosion!" Venus' glowing chain encircled Footzilla before raining numerous energy beams on the monster.
"Flaming Spear!" Mars speared the monster with her fiery weapon.
"Are you guys alright?" Jupiter asked, the three Senshi having beaten the monster back and removing the effects of the gravity stickers on the Rangers.
"Been better." Hunter muttered. "Great to see you again, Lightning."
"Fight first, flirt later." Blake reminded.
"I'm not through yet." Footzilla declared.
"Shabon Spray Freezing!" Mercury's burst of icy bubbles froze Footzilla's feet to the ground. "Am I late?" she grinned at her fellow Senshi.
"Better late than never." Venus grinned back. "We were about to use the 'Fusion Trinity' if you didn't show up."
"ThunderStorm Cannon!" the Rangers formed their combined weapon and blasted the monster with the energy attack.
"Dad, the Megazords are on their way." Aiko informed once Karpi enlarged Footzilla with a Scroll of Empowerment.
"And... we're out of here." Mars muttered and the Senshi left the Rangers to fight Footzilla.
"But I wanna watch..." Venus whined.
"For once, I'm not getting worked." Dustin joked as he watched the fight, Cam looking at the guinea pig in amusement. "This is like a vacation."
"Everything's all set." Cam noted, reconfiguring the computer once again. "Dad, you ready?"
"I never realized how hard it must be for you not to have a human father." Sensei remarked.
"Whatever form you're in, I'll always be there for you." Cam nodded.
"That's really cool, but can we get this over with?" Dustin reminded. "I think I've got fleas."
Activating the transformer, Cam swapped the two bodies back. "Don't worry Dad, I'll find a way to make you human again." he assured.
"Cam, there won't be any... aftereffects from being a guinea pig, or anything, will there?" Shane asked.
"Highly improbable." Cam replied.
"You were saying?" Ami quirked a grin when the enlarged group watched Dustin reach for the pack of hamster food.
"Oh no, you don't." Minako put her foot down and dragged Dustin out of Ninja Ops. "You're taking me shopping, or Sailor Venus will punish you!"
"He's is so whipped." Hunter grinned as the couple in yellow exited the base. "Are those double chocolate cookies I smell, Lightning?" he turned Makoto who was bringing in a plate of baked cookies.
"But of course." Makoto smiled and set the plate on the table. "Where's Mina?"
"She dragged Dustin off for shopping." Rei replied.
"Wait, did anyone warn Dustin what a shopaholic Mina is?" Ami wondered.
"I do believe he's about to find out." Cam smirked. "Ouch, Nymph, that hurt." he feigned a hurt look when Ami smacked his arm.
