J.R. Who was? What did he want? Everyone in the unit was asking those questions. Nobody knew anything about him, they didn't even know if he existed, it could be some meaningless initials to distract the police. But something did not close, why kill Abdel, what did the Dahdal brothers wanted, what was in Abdel's house, why there were terrorist manifestos, what was the reason towards Abdel's brother was in Chicago, was it ARISS? All of this circulated through the heads of everyone in Intelligence, all but one: Jay. Jay knew something, something about J.R. Nobody knew who he was but Jay was not the same from the beginning of the case. He needed to clear his mind, he needed to focus on something else. So, he decided to call his brother.
"Will, do you think we can have a coffee? - Jay asked his brother with a text message.
"Yes, my shift is almost over, see you in the cafeteria that is in front of the hospital." - Will answered him.
Jay and Will had become closer, since Erin left, Will was the one who supported him when he needed it most. Will wanted to make up for all the lost time with his younger brother. He regretted not being there for him when he needed him, but now in whatever Jay needed, Will was there for him.
"Hi, how was everything at work, I heard about the bomb, are you okay? - Will asked his brother as he took a sip of his coffee.
"Will, do you remember what I asked you 2 years ago?" - Jay asked his brother
"You have to be more specific; you have asked me many things." Will replied as he laughed.
"Listen to me, if something happens to me and they ask you something related to my time in the army. Call Voight or anyone in the Unit and tell them you need to talk to them. Remember, if something happens to me you must give them the key. " - Jay told his brother, his way of saying it was serious and important.
"What's up Jay? You can talk with me." - Will asked his brother, he was worried
"Nothing, I just wanted you to know. I just wanted to talk with someone about something else. How are Natalie and the children? - Jay asked avoiding Will's question.
"Well, Owen and Henry are playing in the yard all the time and Natalie wants to invite her parents over." - Will answered Jay, he was relieved that his brother was fine.
"The kids ask when you come home to play. They miss you so much. They always ask me when their uncle comes to play with them." - Will explained to his brother.
"I miss them too; I haven't seen them for a while now. When I have time I go to your house, play with the children and you and I have a few beers." - Jay told his brother, he was happy to be able to talk with his brother about things that had nothing to do with the case.
As they talked and laughed, a black car was watching them from afar, you couldn't see who was inside, but it was parked near the cafeteria. Jay had the feeling that someone was watching them, so he decided to look around him and his gaze fixed on the black car. He knew something was wrong with that car. Jay decided to get closer to see who was inside, but the car drove off. From the beginning of the case, Jay had the feeling that he was being followed.
"Something happens?" Will asked.
"Yes, everything is fine. We talk later." - Jay said goodbye to his brother, as he walked to his truck.
Will didn't think much of it, and he left. As Jay drove, he looked in his rearview mirror and saw that the car by the cafeteria was behind him. He was right, they were following him, so he decided to go down an alley, waiting for the car to follow him there. Jay parked in the alley and got out of his truck, the car had followed him there, Jay approached with his gun in hand, and yelled at the driver to get out of the car. As he got closer, he saw that the person that was driving was a man in a black sweatshirt, he handed him an envelope. Almost immediately after handing him the envelope He ripped off and left the alley. Jay was surprised that someone was following him. Also, he was surprised that the person gave him an envelope, he decided to get into his truck and open the envelope. When he opened it, he found something that caused him a feeling that he had never had.
