Chapter 2 - Carrier

Kai stirred in his bed as he felt someone shaking him gently.

"Kai...Kai...wake up."

He forced himself to open his tired eyes.

He was met by a wrinkled, grinning face.

He jumped and sat upright.

"What the hell are you doing here?!" he asked angrily, not happy about the old man he hardly knew waking him up. Or him being so up in his personal space.

"I told you I'd come get you for t'ai chi. You'd better get a move on, or we'll be late."

"What time is it?" Kai asked, wiping his eyes.

"4:30."

He let out a groan.

"Look, I'm exhausted. Let me off today and I'll start tomorrow..." he said as he tried to settle back down. Tao wasn't having it. He threw the covers off him.

"Oh no you don't...come on! Up, up, up!" he insisted, tapping his arm.

Kai let out another groan, knowing he wasn't going to get any more sleep and pulled himself out of bed.

As he stood up, his stomach churned.

He put his hand to his mouth, looking around frantically for something to throw up in to. He knew he didn't have time to reach the bathroom.

Tao handed him the small trash can. The other quickly snatched it and heaved.

The old man rubbed his back before moving over to the night stand, bringing over a glass of brown looking liquid.

"Here, drink this. I took the liberty of preparing something for you."

Kai took it and looked at it. He held the rim up to his nose and sniffed it. It made him gag.

Tao laughed, "I wouldn't recommend doing that. Just throw it back. It will help."

Kai did as he was told and tilted his head back and tipped the contents of the glass down his throat, pulling a face as he swallowed.

"Oh my god, what is that?" he grimaced.

"You...maybe don't want to ask that. But I assure you, it's all natural."

Kai nodded, letting the vile tasting liquid slip down to his stomach. After a few minutes, his nausea had actually seemed to settle a little.

"Come on, we'll be late."

Kai quickly got dressed and met him at the door, cursing Rei as he was still sleeping soundly on the couch.

The early morning had a chill in the air. He shivered as he followed behind Tao down the dirt track, still unable to make much out in the dark.

They arrived at a large courtyard, surrounded by decorative, painted walls.

As they entered, Kai saw a group of woman, stood around chatting. All of them with bumps of various sizes.

Suddenly he felt nervous.

There was a sudden hush as they noticed Tao and the stranger with him.

"Good morning!" Tao addressed them, "We still have a little time before we begin, but I've come a little earlier this morning to introduce a new member. This is Kai. He's Rei Kon's partner."

The ladies gasped and surrounded him.

"Rei met someone!?"

"Rei's going to be a daddy!?"

"And look what a handsome partner he's chosen!"

Kai was overwhelmed and didn't really know how to react to this sudden rush of attention.

He heard a chuckle.

"Ok, ladies. Let the poor guy breathe."

The women parted to show Aoba standing behind the crowd.

"Morning, Kai! Glad your here! It'll be nice to have another guy here." he smiled.

Kai was relieved too. It was good to have someone there he knew...kind of.

Tao clapped his hands.

"Ok! Let's begin. Line up everyone!"

They obediently got in to their positions.

Kai stood a little behind them.

Aoba turned around when he realised he wasn't next to him, he caught his eye and he smiled softly, grabbing his arm and pulling him forward.

"Don't be shy! No one will make fun. You'll pick it up quick enough."

Tao began to move, the others copied, following his instruction as he directed their breathing.

Kai stood still, looking around him, feeling like a total fish out of water.

Aoba gave him an encouraging look, urging him to join in.

Kai let out a deep sigh before trying to catch up. He felt like an idiot.

"That's it!" Aoba whispered to him.

He couldn't help but roll his eyes. This was stupid...

After what felt like an eternity, the class finally ended.

Kai made a dash for the exit.

"Hey, Kai! Wait up!"

He reluctantly stopped and turned around. Aoba walked quickly to catch up with him.

"Good job today! I know it must be strange for you, but you'll get used to it."

"Thanks..."

"Actually, I have something for you back at my place. Why don't you come over and we can talk. You know, break the ice a little? We man-moms need to stick together, you know!"

Kai cringed. He wanted to say 'no', but felt he couldn't. He nodded and followed him back to his house.

The morning air had heated to a pleasant temperature. Aoba told Kai to sit at the table they had outside. Their house had a really nice view of the mountains. He excused himself and went to make tea for them both.

Kai sat awkwardly. He definitely wasn't the most social of people, and Aoba seemed...incredibly friendly.

He came back a few minutes later, a small tray with two cups in one hand, a paper-wrapped package under the other arm.

He set them both down.

"Here, you'll need these from now on." he said as he slid the package towards them.

Kai took it curiously and carefully opened it.

Clothes?

"Didn't you notice this morning we were all wearing the same thing? Well...I mean the womens is slightly different of course."

Kai had noticed, but thought it was like a class uniform or something.

He lifted it out. It was a pale blue tunic, similar to what Rei wore. Aoba was wearing the same. It had a symbol on the sleeve.

"What does this mean?" he asked.

"It's means 'carrier'. It's more the term we use for the expecting men. We really celebrate pregnancy here. So this is to tell everyone that you are with child."

"So this is to point out anyone who is knocked up?" Kai reiterated.

"Well...yeh, I guess you could say that." Aoba smiled at his bluntness, "and we have bigger sizes for when you start growing. Just let me know."

Kai nodded. Not particularly happy about literally wearing a sign that said 'I'm pregnant'.

Aoba watched him. He sensed his discomfort. It was understandable.

"This is all probably going to take a while to sink in and adjust to...but I want you to know you can ask me anything...or if you just want to talk, I'm here."

He nodded a thanks.

Suddenly, Aoba seemed to squirm a little in his seat.

"Oooh..." he breathed out as he rubbed his stomach.

"Are you OK?!" Kai asked, worried.

Aoba smiled softly. "I'm fine. Here, give me your hand..."

He reached and took Kai's hand and put it on the left side of his belly and pressed it down.

Kai felt pulsing against his hand under the warmth of Aoba's stomach. His face almost stupified. He'd never felt anything like it before.

"It's moving..." he whispered out unintentionally in awe.

Aoba smiled softly, he really had the whole maternal thing down. He was happy to see it was having a positive effect on him.

"It's probably difficult to accept all this while you can't feel anything...but just you wait 'til it starts growing."

Kai finally took his hand away. They sat in silence again.

"...So, have you thought about what you're going to tell your family?" Aoba asked suddenly.

Kai stiffened.

"Luckily that isn't really a problem for me. I don't really have one."

"Oh..." Aoba answered sadly, feeling bad for asking.

For some reason, Kai felt compelled to explain. Maybe because he knew he'd be spending a lot of time with this guy.

"My mom died when I was little and my dad committed suicide not long after. I grew up with my grandfather who sent me...away." he explained, but not wanting to go in to details about the abbey.

Aoba smiled sadly, "that explains why you seem tough as nails...had to fend for yourself from a young age."

Kai didn't like the sad, pitying look he was giving him and tensed up again.

"You don't need to feel sorry for me. It's fine."

"It's just..." Aoba began, but hesitated. Kai looked at him, giving him permission to continue.

"It must be hard knowing you're going to be a parent when you haven't had your own."

Kai sighed, it had crossed his mind. The childish part of him had always craved a family. He'd met Tyson's grandfather and dad. Max's parents, Kenny's...deep down he'd always felt a little jealous of their happy families.

"I'll...just have to figure it out I guess..." he sighed.

He finished his tea and said he had to get back. Aoba nodded and said his goodbyes.

When he got back home, it was still only 7am. Rei was still asleep. He still didn't feel like he wanted to see or speak to Rei yet. He dropped off his new clothes, grabbed his blade and went back out again. He needed to let out some frustration.

He took himself back down the dirt track and head in to the forest.

He wandered deeper in to it, when suddenly he heard a crash.

He ran through the thick trees towards it.

Kevin was there, he must be out practising, his blade smashing in to rocks and trees.

The small, green-haired boy turned around, sensing he wasn't alone.

"Kai! What are you doing here?"

Kai smirked. "I came out to get a little training in."

"Oh...in that case, how about a match?" he asked, a challenging smile on his face.

Kai's smirk grew, just what he needed. A victim to take out his frustration on.

"You're on."

They got in to position...and launched.

Kevin was a little taken aback at the ferocity in which Kai was going at him. This was supposed to just be a friendly match. He was gunning for him like he had a score to settle. His blade smashed in to his own, sending it flying, but it recovered.

Kevin's eyes slit. It was on.

The Chinese stepped up his game, hitting back with as much force as the other. The blades flying and swirling around and hitting the surrounding trees, smashing in to each other aggressively.

They were both engrossed in the match. There was a creaking.

A tree was beginning to topple right beside Kai.

"Look out!" an alarmed voice shouted. Out of nowhere, Lee came in to view, leaping in to Kai and pushing him out the way. The two hurled back and landing roughly on the ground as the tree came crashing down.

Kai winced as the pain of contacting the ground set in. Lee's weight over him. He quickly got off him and grabbed him by the shoulders and shaking him.

"Are you out of your mind!?" he yelled.

Kai was taken aback by his anger.

Mariah and Gary appeared at his side. They must have come to join practise. Neither of them looked happy either.

"What are you so fired up about? We were just having a practise match..." Kai argued back stubbornly.

The three White Tigers turned and glared at Kevin, who looked like he knew he was in trouble.

"What were you thinking!?" Mariah yelled at the smallest member, "You know he's in no condition for this!" Kevin shrunk down.

"Hey!" Kai replied annoyed, "I think I can handle a little beyblade battle. I'm not made of glass you know!"

Lee growled and turned his head back to him, shaking him again.

"Whether you like it or not, you're expecting. You can't be putting yourself in danger like that! It's not just you any more!"

Kai was mad at the scolding he was getting. He sat himself up quickly, frowning.

"Just who do you think you are talking to me like-" he stopped mid-sentence and winced again. His hands to his stomach. Weird dull pains.

"Kai...what's wrong?" Lee's anger switched to worry.

"I'm fine..." he protested, taking a few deep breaths.

"You're so stubborn..." Lee complained, "Gary! Take him to Tao! Quickly!"

"No, really, there's no need!" Kai backed away as the gentle giant obediently stepped to him and picked him up with ease, ignoring his protests before running off at an alarming speed. Who knew the big guy could be so fast?

He quickly arrived at the hospital, dropped him on a bed and went to get Tao. He appeared quickly, looking unimpressed.

"What were you thinking?" he asked, "surely it's common sense not to do anything strenuous." he scolded as he checked him over.

The door opened and Rei came running in, followed by Lee.

"Kai?! Are you all right?!" he asked frantically.

"I'm checking him now, Rei. Stay calm."

"What were you thinking?!"

Kai growled, if heard that question one more time, he was going to lose it.

Tao sensed his annoyance.

"You can't blame us for being frustrated with you. You put yourself and the child in danger. From now on I must insist you take things easy."

He stopped prodding and poking him.

"He's fine. The impact of the ground must have caused stress on his body. But no harm done."

Rei let out a sigh of relief.

"Can I go now?" Kai huffed.

"Yes. But no more training today. We'll discuss later an appropriate training routine for you."

Kai growled again, not liking being treated like an invalid. He stood up and shot a glare at Rei again as he walked out. This was all his fault after all.

Rei followed behind him and grabbed his arm.

"Why am I getting 'the look'? I'm not the one getting myself roughed up while pregnant!"

Kai spun to face him, angry. He saw Lee and Mariah there.

"I suggest we take this home instead of further airing our dirty laundry..." now his turn to grab Rei by the arm and dragged him off.

They got home, the two erupting as soon as the door slammed closed.

"You really are unbelievable, you know that? A stupid practise battle was more important to you than our child!" Rei yelled.

"I'm unbelievable!? I'm not the one who got us in to this fucking situation! How could you keep something this big from me?! And now look, we're stuck with this!"

"Oh sure, it's all my fault..."

"Fuck you, Rei! It IS all your fault! Kai roared.

"Maybe so, but that doesn't mean you can go around taking it out on the baby!"

"I don't even want it! What do I care if something happens to it?!" Kai yelled back.

Rei was stunned. "You can't mean that...you can't really not care if something happens to it."

Kai's hands balled in to fists.

"Will you stop talking like it's an actual baby, it's just a...thing right now!"

Rei's eyes slit. He was mad.

"Are you hearing what you're saying!? I know this wasn't planned, but it's our child!"

"That we're stuck with for the rest of our lives because of you, you fucking asshole!" Kai yelled furiously as he stepped forward and shoved him hard.

Rei, eyes still slit and fangs starting to bare, stepped towards him and grabbed him roughly by the shoulders. Kai was scared for the slightest moment, Rei looked furious, but no one beat him at staring someone out. Their eyes piercing each other. The adrenaline of the argument building up.

Rei forcefully crashed his lips on to Kai's.

Kai was stunned for a second, before angrily kissing him back. The two kissing with bruising force.

Rei grunted and pulled away, pulling his shirt off quickly and throwing it behind him before grabbing the bottom of Kai's and yanking it off him. Their breathing already labored.

Rei grabbed him again and pulled him in to him, the heat of their skin coming to contact, sinking his teeth in to Kai's neck and dragging his nails down his bare back.

Kai let out a surprised and pained gasp. Rei released his neck from his teeth and moved to his ear.

"You're so fucking stubborn..." he growled.

Kai grabbed his hair and yanked it back.

"So are you, prick." he growled back.

Rei let out an evil chuckled and undid Kai's pants, pushing them down before pulling his own down and kicking them off.

He pushed him back on to the couch and pulled his pants off his ankles before getting on the floor between his thighs and taking him in his mouth angrily.

Kai held in his moan, taking a fistful of his hair and pushing him down at the speed he wanted.

Rei soon slapped his hand away and grabbed his legs, pushing his thighs apart wider and tilting him at an angle, he took himself lower and gently teased his entrance with his tongue. He knew how wild it made him.

Kai really fought to stifle the moan. He knew Rei was playing dirty, he knew he loved it when he did that, but there was no way he was going to give him the satisfaction. Rei continued to tease him with his skilled tongue. It felt so good, it was becoming more and more difficult to suppress the moans of pleasure hitched in his throat.

Rei smirked at his effort to stay quiet, he upped his game and pushed his tongue in to him.

At the surprise of the sudden pleasurable intrusion, Kai's body betrayed him and a treacherous, deep moan escaped his lips.

Rei pulled away, a smug, victorious smirk on his lips. Kai looked pissed at his gloating.

He stood himself up and dragged Rei up, turning him and shoving him on to the couch before straddling him. He'd be damned if he'd let Rei be in control after pulling that.

Rei bit his lip, he knew what he was doing, but knew even if he was on top, he could still dominate. He reached between his legs, taking hold of himself and positioning it at Kai's entrance before taking hold of his chin with the other and pulling him in to a rough kiss. As they kissed, he took hold of his hips and pushed him down on to himself. Kai broke the kiss as he felt Rei sliding deep in to him and let out several, breathy groans.

Rei let out a smug groan, he had him where he wanted him. Putty in his hands.

Kai growled, unimpressed by the look on his face and gripped his shoulders, using them to support him as he he started riding him roughly. Rei's hands still on his hips, guiding him. The two still holding eye contact, anger burning in both.

As he continued to violently ride him, Rei began hitting his spot. The anger burning in his eyes soon turned to a glaze of lust and pleasure. Jagged breaths and moans coming in hard and fast.

Rei too was beginning to lose his anger as the heat and pleasure began to build in his own body. His grip on Kai's hips tightened as he got close. He moved one hand to Kai's cock and began pumping, trying to get him to finish before he did.

It worked, after a few more pounds against his spot mixed with the stimulation of Rei's hand, Kai cried out intensely as he came.

Rei was right behind him, pulling his hips down so he could come deeper inside him, moaning loudly.

They came to a halt but stayed in that position, trying to catch their breaths.

Rei finally lifted him up and eased himself out. He brought him in to a hug. Kai complied and wrapped his arms around his neck, resting his head on his shoulder, still breathing heavily.

"I'm sorry..." Rei finally said.

"Me too..." Kai panted back.

"We're gonna figure this out. Together." Rei said, stroking the hair on the back of his head gently.

"Yeh..."

"I love you."

"Love you too."
