So since I wasn't overly happy with the last chapter, I thought I'd just upload the next chapter too since it was already done. It's almost the same as the original, just slight changes! Almost at the end of the old stuff before I can get on with the new!

Chapter 6 – Swim Time!

Two months had passed since the incident at the festival. Summer had set in with a fury. The days were blistering hot and humid in the small Chinese village.

Kai returned home from his morning T'ai Chi class. It was so muggy, that even in the early hours of the morning, gentle exercise wiped him out. He usually stayed up and got on with things until training started, but today he climbed back in to bed next to Rei, exhausted.

When he woke up again, the sun was high in the sky. He was drenched in sweat as the heat and humidity had made him drip in his sleep. He peeled himself out of bed and quickly hit the shower.

He stepped out again, refreshed only for a few minutes. He slipped his pajama shorts back on and began towel drying his hair, returning to the room.

Rei rolled over lazily and his eyes cracked open. He smiled softly as he saw Kai drying that wild hair of his. It seemed like the sun had bleached it slightly. The slate was lighter as was the blue. Somehow, the sun hadn't done much to his pale skin.

He continued to silently watch his partner as he stood up to hang the towel. His eyes widened and unconsciously let out a gasp as Kai turned to the side to reach for the hanger.

Kai's head turned when he heard the gasp.

"What?" he asked, worried.

Rei sat himself up, staring at him.

Kai huffed.

"What?" he asked impatiently.

"You're...really starting to show..." Rei said finally, smiling lovingly as he took in the noticeable swell that seemed to appear overnight.

Kai looked down quickly and snapped his head back up just as fast.

"Am not!" he protested, annoyed , covering his stomach with his hands.

Rei laughed.

"Why are you so sensitive about it? It's normal."

"How would you like it if you were fat?!"

Rei rolled his eyes. He was worse than a sensitive woman.

"You're not fat. You're pregnant...it would be weird if you didn't get bigger."

Kai frowned and grumbled something to himself that Rei didn't hear, before opening the closet and pulling out his blue tunic like he wore every day.

He slipped it over his head and pulled it down. It took some pulling to get it over his stomach. Too tight.

Kai flushed red as he looked up and saw Rei's smug yet adoring expression.

"...Shut up..." Kai barked defensively.

"I didn't say anything..." Rei laughed.

"You were thinking it..."

Rei continued to laugh as Kai did his best to subtly stretch out the tight fabric.

"...go to the second drawer..." Rei instructed.

Kai lifted a brow and opened it. Another wrapped bundle.

"I knew you were starting to get a bump, so I took the liberty of getting you some bigger clothes..." Rei explained

Kai didn't look impressed, but stayed silent. Huffily pulling off the now too small tunic and tossing it aside before removing the bigger one from the wrapping.

"No no no, wait...don't put your shirt on yet..." Rei protested, motioning for him to join him back in bed.

Kai glared but did as he asked, sitting himself down on the bed.

Rei gently pulled him closer to lay down beside him and ran his hand over his stomach.

Sometimes Kai liked it when he did that. It was heartwarming. Other times, he wanted to punch him in the balls for doing it.

Today was a ball-punching day. He glared icily.

Rei smirked.

"Don't be like that..." he warned playfully.

"Hn..."

Rei leaned in to kiss him, but Kai pushed him away.

"You're all sweaty and gross..." he complained.

"Fine. I'll go shower..." Rei said, giving up. He too peeled himself off the bed sheets and hit the shower.

Kai stayed laying on the bed, feeling too lazy to move. He glanced down. His stomach definitely raised, and let out a sigh.

A few minutes later he heard the bathroom door open, he sat up and looked over, seeing Rei emerge with a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, beads of water dripped down his toned body and his hair hung messily around his shoulders. He'd seen this every morning. But today, the sight caused intense pangs of desire pulse through him.

Rei moved over to the bed and sat next to Kai, he opened his mouth to speak, but before a sound could escape his mouth, Kai had pounced on him, pushing him down on the bed and kissing him passionately. Rei's eyes widened and a small noise of shock came out. Kai stopped for a moment, breathing a little heavier than normal, staring powerfully in to each other's eyes.

"...Kai...?" Rei said curiously, it wasn't like him to be this forceful. His eyes were hazed over, smoldering. He smirked to himself. Aoba's husband had 'warned' him about this. This was apparently common with pregnant neko men...they had times where they were like bitches in heat. They needed it.

This could be fun...

He took his opportunity, pushing Kai off him gently and rolled him over so that now he was lying on top of his lover, pinning his hands above his head.

Rei kissed him passionately, forcing his tongue inside the others mouth, Kai let out a lust-filled moan. Rei moved Kai's wrists so that he could hold them with one hand, allowing the other to gently slide down his body and stop at his shorts. He rubbed him gently a few times before getting a little bit rougher, making Kai gasp and squirm.

"My my, someone is pleased to see me..." Rei said teasingly.

Kai was already gasping, moving his hips up in an attempt to get more from Rei's touch. "Rei...please..." he was already begging. Not something he was used to.

Rei chuckled in delight at how desperate he was only a few mere seconds in. He pulled his hand away from his pants.

Kai growled impatiently and violently pulled off his shorts, kicking them off. He turned his attention to Rei, who was only in his towel. He ripped it off and threw the towel across the room to join his shorts on the floor. He grabbed Rei's waist and dragged him back down on top of him, spreading his legs so that Rei was lying in between them.

The two went back to fiery deep kissing. Their hands explored each others toned, smooth bodies. Every touch from Rei was electrical.

Rei broke the kiss and gazed at his lover's face, smugly adoring the flushed look of need and desperation on it. He moved his head lower and kissed his neck before biting down and sucking on it. Once he'd gotten a gasp of pleasure from the boy wriggling under him, he licked his way down Kai's chest and over his stomach and very slowly settled in between his thighs

Kai hissed as he felt Rei's breath against him. He knew Rei was teasing him by taking his sweet time, usually he liked it when Rei played with him a little. But this time he couldn't handle it. He needed it and he needed it now.

"Damnit, Rei! Come on!" he let out almost angrily.

Rei raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Well, if you're going to be like that then maybe I'm not in the mood anymore..."

Kai lifted his head up and looked down at Rei, worried, he needed this. "I'm sorry Rei, but please...I need i-ahhhhhhhh.." his head slumped back on to the pillow and he cried out as Rei suddenly took him in to his mouth. Kai's hands moved to Rei's hair and unconsciously pushed Rei's head to the rhythm his body craved.

Rei continued sucking. Each time his head went down, a new moan of pleasure came from the Russian. Rei couldn't help but feel a little surprised, Kai wasn't usually silent in bed, but he definitely never made as much noise as this. And it was a real turn on.

Rei stopped suddenly, getting a sound of protest from the other. He went to the bedside drawer and got out a tube before hastily returning to his former position. He went back to sucking as he covered his finger in the gel before pushing it in to Kai's entrance. Kai hissed at the sudden intrusion but it soon turned from a wince of pain into a wince of pleasure.

"Rei...more!" Kai begged.

Rei obliged and inserted another finger, and then a third. Kai cried out, rocking his hips to make Rei's fingers penetrate him slightly.

Finally, Rei couldn't take it any more, the sounds Kai were making made his own desires become unbearable.

Rei eased his fingers out of him, covered himself in lube and crawled on top of his panting lover. He grabbed Kai's legs and pushed them back, resting them on his shoulders. He leaned his hips forward so that his own throbbing need rested against Kai's entrance.

Kai moaned,his face red and legs trembling, "Rei...oh God...fuck me!"he begged breathlessly.

Rei leaned down and kissed his Russian gently before ever so slowly easing himself in to him, smirking as he saw Kai's mouth fall open and contort in pleasure as he filled him, giving him what he needed.

Max, Tyson and Kenny were waiting in their usual training spot. Sweltering in the heat.

"Where are they?" Tyson complained, wiping the sweat from his brow.

"You did tell Rei we were meeting a few hours earlier, right?" Kenny asked him.

Tyson thought about it...he was sure he did...didn't he?

"I'm sure I did!"

Kenny and Max rolled their eyes...he probably didn't.

"Well...we can't sit here baking all morning...why don't you guys go get them?" Kenny suggested.

"Why us?" Tyson complained.

"Because I'm running data with Dizzi..." he said matter of factly...but really, he just didn't want to leave his spot in the shade.

"Fine...come on, Max."

Max sighed, wiping his forehead with a towel and they dragged themselves over.

They reached the front door of their house. Tyson being Tyson, didn't bother knocking and just pushed the door open, letting himself in. Max shook his head but followed him in anyway.

"Rei?" Tyson called, "Yo, you ho-". Max cut him off.

"Shhh...Tyson, listen..." Max held up his hand.

They heard muffled cries coming from the other side of the house.

The two looked at each other before following the sounds.

They didn't have to walk very far before they both stopped in their tracks as realization hit them as to what the noises were.

Kai's voice screaming out loud, intense cries of pleasure.

Both their jaws hit the floor.

"...I think we should get the hell out of here..." Max finally said, his face went red as processed that he and his friend were listening to their two other male friends having seemingly wild sex.

"I second that..." Tyson said with an embarrassed look on his face.

The moans and cries got more intense and loud as they sped out the house, Tyson gently pulled the front door shut, so they wouldn't be heard. He couldn't help but let a stupid grin appear on his face

"That a boy, Rei..." Tyson praised mentally as he giggled, finding it amusing that Rei was managing to get sounds like that out of Kai. He made a mental note to high-five his Chinese friend later.

Back in the bedroom, the two boys were oblivious to anything other than each other. Both covered in a glaze of sweat, pure heat radiating from their bodies.

Rei thrusted in to his boyfriend, Kai wrapped his arms around his waist and pulled as he thrust in an attempt to pull him deeper in to him.

Kai continued to moan loudly, he'd never felt intensity like this before. Sex with Rei was always amazing, but this was a whole new level of pleasure.

Rei was almost at the end, but he was determined to outlast Kai.

Luckily, he didn't have to hold on for too long. Kai soon had one arm around Rei's neck, gripping his shoulder hard, the other clawed on to the bed sheet. His body began to spasm, he managed to choke out Rei's name before letting out a loud, intense cry.

They made their way to the usual place. The other three already there waiting. Tyson was grinning like a moron and Max avoided making eye contact with them.

They trained for about two hours, Kai doing his Tao-approved amount and finishing after only about an hour. Rei insisted he get out the sun and rest in the shade with Kenny.

He continued to watch before...

"Kaaiiiii!" came a sweet voice.

The five of them turned and saw Mei running towards them, dressed in a blue dress and hair pulled up in to a bun. Aoba and Shou following behind.

She ran up to Kai and hugged his arm tightly.

Kai tensed. Mei had grown really attached to him and always leapt on him whenever she saw him. He didn't get it.

"Hey Mei, what are you guys doing here?" he asked as her parents reached him too.

"This little lady wouldn't shut up about seeing you. So we thought we'd bring you guys some lunch!" Aoba answered, holding up a basket.

"Did someone say lunch?!" Tyson's voice boomed as he ran over.

Rei and Max sighed, embarrassed and head over.

Aoba threw a blanket down and set out the food. Must have taken them all morning to make.

Mei reached in to the basket and brought out a sandwich, putting it on a plate and walking back to Kai, grinning.

"I made this one for you." she said proudly.

Kai smiled at her and took it from her.

"For me? Thank you...it looks great!"

The little girl beamed.

As they began to eat, Kenny turned to Rei.

"Did Tyson not tell you we were going to start training earlier today?"

Rei frowned.

"No...he didn't...were you guys waiting for us?"

Max flushed red and Tyson fought his snicker.

"Yeh...it's his fault...don't worry. I sent him to come get you, he said you two were busy."

Tyson burst out laughing at Kenny's choice of wording.

Kai glared at him, "What's funny?"

Max stared at Tyson, scared. If Tyson told them what had happened earlier, he knew it wouldn't end well for either of them.

Tyson couldn't contain his laughter. Max elbowed him in the ribs.

"Don't Tyson..." he warned.

Rei frowned, "What's going on, guys?"

Tyson looked around and checked where Mei was. She was a off picking flowers, out of hearing range. "I'm sorry guys...I have to come clean. Max and I came to get you, but...it wasn't exactly good timing."

Kai choked on the water he was drinking and felt his face burn red. He looked horrified.

"Are you saying you heard us..." Rei began, Tyson just giggled again.

"Yep, doing the dance of love!"

Shou and Aoba burst out laughing.

Kai wanted to disappear, he was mortified, "Oh my God..." he whined as put his head in his hands. Why Tyson...of all the people that had to overhear them, why did it have to be him.

This just made Tyson laugh more, "Hmmm...you know, that sounds like earlier...'Oh God, Rei!'" he mimicked, "You sounded like a porn-star dude."

They all fought hard not to laugh at both Tyson's comment and Kai's crimson, unamused face.

"Fuck you, Tyson." Kai growled angrily. .

Tyson smirked, loving that he finally had the power to get under Kai's skin a little. Rei noticed Kai wasn't seeing the funny side and decided to put an end to it before things got out of hand.

"OK, Tyson that's enough. And Kai, you know he's just trying to get under your skin, don't give him the satisfaction." he comforted his red-faced lover.

Tyson was feeling brave, "You'd know all about giving satisfaction wouldn't you, Rei, AM I RIGHT!?" he yelled as he lifted his hand for Rei to high-five.

Kai felt Rei's arm move.

"You raise that hand and I swear to god I'll rip your balls of..." he growled visciously.

Rei mumbled a sorry before giving Tyson a wink behind Kai's back.

The conversation went back to normal and soon Mei came running back with hand picked flowers for each of them.

"Reeeeeiiiii? When are we going swimming?" she asked impatiently. Rei had promised her a while ago that they would go together.

"Well..." he said, turning to Aoba and Shou, "You guys busy this afternoon? It's a nice day...we could gather the guys, go to the lake, have a barbecue this evening?"

Aoba and Shou looked at each other and shrugged.

"I don't see why not! Sounds good to me!"

"Hear that, Mei? We can go today!" Rei said excitedly.

Mei cheered and jumped up and down.

They packed up and head back, Tyson went to go get the White Tigers while the others got ready.

By the early afternoon, they were at the crystal clear lake. All but Kai and Aoba swimming. They decided to stay in the shade.

"Daddy! Look at me!" Mei's voice carried across the lake. Aoba grinned and waved. Mei was currently on Rei's back as he swam around.

"She's adorable." Kai commented.

"Hmm, thank you! She really is though, isn't she?" Aoba agreed proudly.

Shou had put Mei in a little inflatable ring. He gently pulled her across the water as Rei was pretending to be a shark.

"I'm coming to get you, Meiiiii..." he said in a playful voice as he swam slowly towards the girl, singing the song from Jaws. "Duh-dum...duh dum...duh-dum-duh-dum."

Mei giggled furiously kicking her legs and splashing furiously trying to get away.

Rei held his breath and suddenly went under the water, out of sight.

Mei leaned over her ring trying to spot him, still giggling uncontrollably.

A few seconds later Rei emerged from the water under Mei, picking her up as he did so, roaring. Mei shrieked and squealed in amusement.

Kai's heart melted. Rei was such a natural with children. Three months in and he was still going through phases of being happy and unhappy about this baby. Seeing Rei play with Mei like this made him want it more than anything.

He smiled let out a dreamy sigh as he was thinking about what a great father Rei was going to be and without realizing, gently rubbed his belly.

Aoba heard his sigh and turned his head, he smiled too, knowing full well what was going through Kai's mind.

"He really is going to be such a great daddy." he said, vocalizing Kai's exact thoughts.

Kai nodded, still watching Rei as he held Mei on his waist, the two of them laughing and splashing water at Tyson.

He suddenly came over all emotional as his mind created images of Rei playing with their own child like this. He felt a lump in his throat.

"Yeh...he's going to be the best daddy ever..." his voice cracked at the end of the sentence. He took a deep breath, trying his hardest not cry. He'd been trying his hardest to calm down all the raging emotions over the past weeks. It was only getting worse.

Aoba on the other hand, found it amusing.

"Kai...it's just you and me, if you need to cry then just..." he stopped as he glanced at the other and realised he was too late, Kai was already sniffing and wiping his eyes with the back of his hands.

Aoba laughed softly, he reached in to his bag and pulled out some tissues and handed them to him. The other took them and nodded in thanks.

"I really hate this..." Kai admitted as he wiped his eyes and breathed deeply to try and stop the tears.

"Me too...this time I haven't been as bad, but when I was pregnant with Mei I cried all the time at basically anything."

Kai giggled, that sounded all too familiar.

"But you're adjusting really well, Kai. You should be proud."

Kai didn't say anything, which made Aoba turn back to him, and saw the waterworks were back on.

"Damnit, why did you say that!? Are you trying to set me off?!" Kai asked as he once again dried his eyes and tried to calm himself down. Aoba just laughed and rubbed Kai's back.

The two had become close over the past few months. They saw each other every day at the morning T'ai Chi classes. Kai usually went to hang out with him after. At first, Aoba always invited him and Kai felt like he had to. But now, he went because he actually enjoyed his company. They seemed to click and had certain things in common. And most of all, Aoba was an incredibly intuitive guy. If Kai wasn't feeling talkative, which he often wasn't, they could be silent without it being awkward.

Aoba looked at his watch. "Hmmm...they've been in there a while, I think they'd better have a break."

Aoba attempted to stand up but struggled a little due to the large bump on his stomach. He was just over six months along. It was Kai's turn to be amused. Kai stood up with ease and held his hands out.

"Come on, up you get."

Aoba playfully scowled at him before taking his hands, Kai pulled, helping hoist him up. The Chinese waddled closer to the lake and cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted to the crowd of swimmers.

"Guys! Time to get out for a little while!".

This was met with numerous moans and groans of protest.

"Come on...or no one gets ice-cream!" he warned. He smiled as he watched the crowd of adults obediently head out the water. He turned back to Kai and winked, "Mother's touch. Once you have it, it works for everything."

Rei walked towards them, carrying Mei. Shou followed just behind them.

Kai and Aoba grabbed towels for the three of them and set themselves back under the tree. Rei put Mei down and she ran up to the tree, dripping water behind her.

Aoba wrapped Mei in a towel and pulled her in to a hug while he was drying her. "You having a good time baby?" he asked lovingly.

Mei nodded furiously, "Uncle Rei was a shark! And then he turned me in a to a shark too and we chased daddy!" she explained with joy.

"Wow! Did you catch daddy?"

Kai watched the two of them and smiled.

He was brought out of his own little world when he felt drips of cold water on his head, he quickly turned around and saw Rei standing over him, grinning and letting his hair drip on his boyfriend.

"Argh! Rei that's cold!" he complained as he picked up a towel and passed it to him. Rei laughed and quickly dried his face and skin before roughly drying off his hair. He sat down beside Kai and kissed him on the cheek.

"So what's going on in the mommy-club?" Rei asked.

Kai snorted, "Mommy-club? Really?"

Rei shrugged, "Well you two are the only ones being boring and not coming for a swim!" he argued jokingly.

Kai shook his head and looked over at the others, he could see Tyson, Max and Kenny playing piggy in the middle. Kenny being in the middle and, as he was considerably shorter than the other two, was having no luck catching the ball. Kai squinted his eyes when he noticed Tyson's shoulders had turned red, were they burning?

Getting a better look at Tyson's very red shoulders made him feel overwhelmed with concern.

Without thinking he called out to him.

"Tyson!"

Rei looked at him and raised an eyebrow, Kai's voice sounded worried.

Tyson turned to face them, only to be hit on the back of the head with the ball.

"Ow! Damnit, Max! Why'd you throw it when my back was turned?!"

"Sorry, Ty!" Max laughed.

"What's up, preggers?" Tyson called back to Kai.

Kai growled a little, Tyson had decided 'preggers' was his new nickname. He hated it.

"Just get over here!" Kai called sternly.

"Hold on! I'm in the middle of a game here!"

Kai stood up and put his hands on his hips, "NOW Tyson! Don't make me come over there and drag you!"

Tyson stared at him, a little shocked.

Rei was looking up at him too, a little puzzled.

Tyson sighed and obediently walked over to the tree.

"Ok, I'm here, what's up?"

"Did you put sun block on today?"

"What?" Tyson asked a little bemused.

"You heard me! Did you put on sunblock?"

"Uh...no..."

Kai folded his arms and frowned, unimpressed. "I thought so! Your shoulders are burned! You know how strong the sun is here! You're gonna be sore as hell later!" Kai scolded.

Rei watched the two of them, he watched as Kai folded his arms and Tyson seemed to sink like a five year old getting scolded. He started laughing.

Kai and Tyson's attention turned to Rei.

"What's so funny?" Kai asked as he went to the bag and pulled out sunblock, pushing the bottle in to Tyson's hands. This just made Rei laugh a little harder.

"I'm sorry...it's just...you really have gone in to mommy-mode!"

Kai stopped dead and blushed, Tyson on the other hand started laughing too.

"Oh my God! He's right! You so have! Non-pregnant Kai would have just let me burn to a crisp!"

Kai spun around and glared at Tyson, "Shut up and put your sunblock on!" he snapped.

"...yes, mom..." Tyson teased before he ran back to the game. Kai rubbed the bridge of his nose and sighed, clearly annoyed.

Rei grabbed his hand and pulled him back down to sit with him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to annoy you, I just think it's really sweet." Rei said as he wrapped his arm around Kai's shoulder and gently rubbed it.

"Hn..." was Kai's only response, his team once knew him for being strong and strict, now they saw him as a hormonal mess with a soft, maternal side. He wasn't used to that yet.

About thirty minutes later, Aoba announced that they could go back in to the water. They all ran to the deeper side of the lake and jumped in. Mariah and Kenny shrieked at how cold the water was.

Mei wanted to jump in too, but Shou had told her she was too little. She pouted.

"Don't worry, Mei, when you're a little older you can jump all you want!" Rei comforted as he took her hand and led her round to the more shallow end.

She looked up at Rei, "Why isn't Kai swimming with us? I thought he would play with us..." she said, disappointed.

"Ummm...I don't know, I guess he just doesn't want to." Rei answered, "or maybe he's just too hot. Like your daddy, having a baby makes you a bit hotter than everyone else."

Mei tilted her head, "Well, that's a better reason to go in the lake, the water will make them cool." she reasoned.

Mei turned to look at the others jumping in the lake for a second time. Lee had picked up Mariah, ran and jumped in. Mei grinned.

"Rei! I have an idea to make Kai play with us!" she gestured for Rei to lean down so she could whisper to him. He did as she wished and listened to the littler girl before a mischievous grin appeared on his face.

"Good idea, Mei. You wait here, I'll go do it!"

Mei covered her mouth as she giggled.

Rei walked back over to where Aoba and Kai were laying down. He stopped at the side of their blanket.

"Hey Kai, could you do me a favour? Could you pass me a bottle of water?"

Kai looked up at him lazily, "Can't you get it? I just got comfy."

"But I got my feet all dirty, I dont want to walk all over the blankets to get them."

Kai huffed, "OK, fine."

He pulled himself up and stood up, turning to go to the cool box. He'd barely taken a step forward when he was swept off his feet and thrown over Rei's shoulder, fireman style.

"Rei what the hell are you doing!? Put me down!" he cried as Rei took off towards the lake, keeping a firm hold on his protesting boyfriend.

"You looked hot, I thought I'd help you cool down!" Rei said innocently.

Kai noticed they were heading towards the deep end of the lake, and it dawned on him what Rei was up to.

"Rei...don't you dare! I'm warning you! Don't you DARE!"

The others were watching from the water, snickering and laughing.

"3...2...1...TAKE OFF!" Rei shouted as he took a running jump, holding on to a still protesting Kai, who could only let out a shriek as they leapt off the side in to the freezing cold water with a splash.

Kai emerged from under the water, "Holy shit that's cold!", he gasped as he began to swim to the side. Rei had other ideas and swam in front of him.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked slyly.

Kai growled, "Consider yourself lucky, Kon! If you weren't the father of our child I'd hold your head under the water 'til you stopped moving!"

Rei just laughed, "Ahhh lighten up, Kai! Join in the fun a little!" he swam closer to his irate lover and wrapped his arms around his waist and under his legs so that he could hold him bridal style in the water, kicking his legs to keep them above the surface.

"You really think I'm going to let you off tha-" his sentence was cut off but a gasp, "nnnnnngh..." he pressed his hands on his stomach.

Rei panicked, "Kai!? Oh my God, what's wrong?!". This caught the attention of everyone else, they stopped what they were doing and looked over, worried.

"Rei, I think the baby is moving..."

Rei's face lit up and smiled from ear to ear, "Seriously?! Wow! Ok...umm...hold on!"

He swam over to the side as fast as he could and lifted Kai on to it before climbing out himself and sitting next to him.

"Is it still moving?!" he asked hopefully, desperate to feel it.

Kai was smiling but also looked plain uncomfortable. "Uh huh..."

Rei slid his hand gently under Kai's wet shirt and pressed softly against Kai's stomach.

"I...can't feel anything." Rei said with a disappointed hint in his voice.

"Try here..." Kai replied as he guided Rei's hand to the left, pushing Rei's hand a little more firmly on his skin.

Rei felt a soft pulsing against his hand. He immediately felt a prickle of tears in his eyes, he let out a sound that was something between a sigh and laugh.

"That's our baby..." he whispered.

"Can you feel it!?" Mariah squealed. Both Rei and Kai looked up to see they'd all swum over and gathered. Even Aoba had come over to see what was going on.

Her eyes sparkled as she rapidly hoisted herself out the water and sat the other side of Kai.

"Can I feel?! Pleasepleaseplease!?"

Kai had his own hand on his stomach and was softly rubbing it, it was amazing to feel the baby move, but it also felt incredibly weird and he wanted it to stop.

Mariah didn't even wait for an answer, she had her hand on his stomach and pressed down gently. Usually Kai would have ripped her hand off, but he was too distracted by the strange sensation.

She waited...

"Umm...Kai...are you sure it's still moving?"

She looked at Kai's face and by the uncomfortable expression on his face she could tell it probably was.

"It's just...I can't feel anything?"

"Seriously? I sure as hell can..." Kai responded a little surprised, a little overwhelmed by the sensitive wriggling in his stomach.

Aoba giggled, "This early on, other people won't be able to feel much, I'm surprised Rei felt anything."

Kai gave him a disbelieving look, "Are you telling me this is going to get worse!?"

Aoba smiled and nodded, "Yep, but don't worry, I know it feels really weird now but you'll get used to it."

Kai and Mariah let out a sigh at the same time, Kai because he dreaded the squirming getting worse, Mariah out of sheer disappointment.

"I'm guessing the sudden change in temperature started it off..." Aoba thought out loud. "Babies are really sensitive to things like that, mine goes crazy when I have a bath."

"Noted..." Kai replied, breathing with relief that the wriggling was getting softer and slowly stopping.

Kai retreated back to the tree with Aoba while the others resumed playing in the water.

He lay down next to Aoba, who reached over and rubbed Kai's stomach.

"Strange feeling, isn't it?"

"You can say that again..." Kai agreed.

"You'll learn to love it." Aoba said sleepily before taking his hand off Kai and resting it on his own.

Kai yawned and put his hands behind his head. He closed his eyes and before he knew it, drifted off to sleep.

When his eyes flickered open, he was surprised to see it was getting dark. He sat up and realised someone had put a blanket over him. He rubbed his eyes and looked around.

"Hey, preggers! You're finally up!" he heard Tyson say.

"How long have I been asleep?" he asked.

"Oh you've been out for like...four hours! I guess you needed it! Anyway, we got the barbecue fired up! You hungry?" he asked kindly.

"Of course he is! He's eating for two, you know!" came a less familiar voice. He turned and saw Rei's mom, dad and uncle.

"Oh...when did you get here?" Kai asked.

"We got here about an hour ago! Walked by and saw the party and thought we'd join in! Tao arrived not long ago as well."

Kai got up and looked over to the barbecue and noticed Rei was standing with his father, uncle and Tao.

Yui took him by the hand. "Come, you must be hungry!" and led him over to the others.

Rei was talking to his dad, but his eyes glanced over and met Kai's, he smiled as he saw his sleepy boyfriend approach them.

"Hey, you're up!" he said affectionately as he wrapped his arm around his waist.

"Rei tells us you felt your baby move for the first time." Tao said, Kai nodded, slowly feeling himself wake up a little.

Tao smiled, "And? How did it feel?" he asked.

"Uh...really peculiar." Kai answered honestly.

Tao laughed softly, "That's totally normal, you'll become accustomed to it soon enough."

They stood and talked for what Kai felt was forever. He felt a headache starting up.

He rubbed his throbbing temples, drawing Rei's attention.

"You ok?" he asked, concerned.

"I'm fine, Rei...I just have a headache. I might just go sit over there for a while where it's quiet if that's ok?" he gestured towards the woods that surrounded the lake.

Rei nodded, "Sure...you want me to come with you?"

Kai shook his head, "No, you stay here and enjoy yourself, I'll be back in a little while."

"All right...but don't go too far so I can find you." Rei warned as he kissed his lover on the forehead.

Kai walked in to the woods. He could still hear all the laughing and talking so carried on walking further in to the woods until the sounds had become dim.

He sat down and leaned against a tree, closing his eyes and rubbing his forehead.

He snapped his eyes open when he heard leaves rustling, he stood up and looked around.

"Rei...?" he called out "Is that you?"

There was nothing. Kai smirked to himself. "just an animal I guess..."

As he turned around he heard the rustling again and spun around to meet hazy green eyes.

"Well well...look who we have here!" came the girls voice.

"It's you!" Kai growled, "the one who told me all those lies about Rei! Just who are you and why did you make up all those stories?!" Kai demanded.

"Not important...now keep your voice down and no one gets hurt..." her voice was icy and Kai started to feel uneasy.

Kai took a step back, "What are you..." he stopped as he stepped back in to someone and gasped as he felt two strong arms pin his own back, restraining him.

Kai tried to turn his head to see his captor. "Who the hell are you?!"

"We know you, you don't need to know us..." came a deep, cold voice from behind him.

"What are you doing?! What do you want with me?" Kai kept his voice strong even though inside he was scared.

"You and that thing inside you have come between us and our plans...we can't allow that." Kai struggled against the man's restrain on his arms.

The girl stepped forward slowly gazing deep in to Kai's eyes and smirking when she saw hints of fear in them.

She put her hand out and rubbed Kai's belly, "such a shame..." she said in fake sorrow, "I'm sure you and Rei would have made such a cute child."

Kai now tried to struggle away from her touch, "Get your hands off me! Both of you!" he growled.

"Now, now Kai...the more you struggle the worse this will be." she patronized, still standing inches away from him.

Kai saw red and used the arms restraining him as support as he jumped and kicked the girl hard in the stomach, she let out a grunt as she was sent backwards.

Kai swung his leg back to kick the man behind him in the shin equally as hard. The quickness of it caught the man off guard and Kai struggled furiously against his hold, managing to break free and made a run for it.

"REI!" he screamed. Hoping to god someone would come and help him.

He kept running, but suddenly a figure leapt out in front of him, making him come to a halt.

"That wasn't a smart thing to do, Kai" spat a woman's voice.

"Who are you?!" Kai demanded angrily.

The woman just snickered evilly as Kai once again felt his arms being restrained, this time with more force.

"Bad move, kid." came the man's voice, Kai was terrified.

"Ivy, tie him up." the man ordered.

He struggled as he felt rope being wrapped around his wrists.

"Alexa, you do his legs..." the woman in front of him jolted forward, forcing Kai's legs together and tying his ankles together.

"REI! REI HELP!" Kai screamed as loud as he could, "RE-hmmmmpppph!" Ivy stepped around from behind him,

"Oh, shut up..." she laughed as she gagged him.

Rei's father and uncle were laughing at a stupid joke Tao had just told, Rei smiled and shook his head. His smile quickly disappeared and his ears pricked up.

"Everyone, shhhh!" he held his hand up.

"...what's up, son?"

"...I think I just heard a scream...be quiet a second..."

They all looked at each other, listening intently.

"Rei...help me!" they heard faintly in the distance.

Rei dashed in to the woods, his father and uncle behind him.
