The next day, they arrived from the airship to a forest completely stuck in fall. They certainly liked the look of the plase.
"Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and i'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so". Mrs. Goodwitch said. The group stopped, and jaune was carrying a case and seven empty jars. He bumped into cardin which caused him to scowl at jaune. "Each of you a full jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of grimm, so be sure to stay with your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!" jaune tries to sneak away from cardin but he grabs him by the back and pulls him another way. Pyrrha saw this and looked in sadness.
"Don't worry Pyrrha," Sean said as he came up to her. "I'm sure he will come around."
Meanwhile with CRDL and jaune. CRDL were making themselves comfortable under the trees while jaune was doing all the work. Jaune ended up coming back with the jars all filled with saps and collapsed.
"Hey, great work Jauney boy! Now that wasn't too hard, was it?" Cardin said.
"I think i'm allergic to this stuff..." Jaune said, very dizzy.
"Greeeat, great. So, Jaune, i bet you're asking yourself, 'why did my buddy cardin ask me to collect seven jars of sap when there are only five of us?'" Cardin said.
"That is one of the many questions I have asked myself today." Jaune said, nodded but still exhausted.
"Well, come with me, and you'll find out." Cardin said as he led Jaune and his team to a hilltop overlooking the other student. They peaked their head over the crest. And saw everyone getting the sap.
"Cardin wh-what's going on?" Jaune asked.
"Payback," Cardin said, looking sharply at two individuals. Those people were Pyrrha and Dakota with Sean not with them as he was helping Ren keep Nora in check.
"Pyrrha... Dakota...?" Jaune said with his eyes widened. "Wh-what are you-?" He stopped when Cardin pounded his fist in the ground.
"That's the two, the first one red-haired know-it-all girl that thinks she's so smart." Cardin said.
"So boss, why are you going after the other one?" Russel asked cardin.
"That's very simple, it's to make Sean hurt." Cardin said with animosity. He pulled out a cardboard box that seemed to be buzzing. "Last night, old Jaune here managed to round up an entire box of rapier wasps, and now, we're gonna put him to work. Now, according to one of the essays you wrote for me last week. These nasty things looove sweets. I'm thinking it's time we teach them a thing or two." Team CRDL got up and yanked jaune up. "And you're gonna do it."
"Do what?" Jaune asked, knowing full well what he was going to be told to do.
"Hit them with the sap!" Cardin commanded. "Either that, or I'll have a chat with Goodwitch, and you'll be on the first airship out of beacon." jaune looks at the jars in his hand and when he looks back up he aims toward Dakota and Pyrrha. Until he steels his nerves and says.
"No," Jaune said.
"What did you say?" Cardin said.
"I said... NO!" Jaune says as he throws the jars at cardin, hitting his chestplate. Cardin looks at the sap and laugh
"Oh, you've done it now..." Cardin said. Jaune awkwardly laughed before the rest of CRDL grabbed him and pulled him into the forest. Jaune gets pushed to the ground with the team looming over him. Cardin then picked him up then punched him to the ground again. "You know that wasn't very smart, Jauney boy." he picked up jaune once again. "I'm gonna make sure they send you back to mommy in teeny tiny pieces."
"I don't care what you do to me..." Jaune said, as he looked at Cardin with fury. "... but you are not messing with my friends."
"What? You think talk like that makes you tough? You think you're a big strong man now?" Cardin said. Jaune smiled which caused Cardin to get even angrier. Cardin reeled back his fist and just as it connected, Jaune started glowing a bright white. When the light faded Jaune could see cardin in pain. Sky then kicked Jaune in the back. "Let's see how much of a man you really are..." Cardin said. Just then they heard a growl behind them, which caused them to turn around. They saw a huge Ursa Major come in and started looming over the people that were there. It started sniffing the air then looked at cardin. It was clearly after the sap on his chestplate.
"That's a big ursa!" Russel said, as the rest of Cardins team fled. Cardin then gets knocked to the side thanks to the ursa swiping it's claws. The ursa was completely uninterested in Jaune and continued to go after cardin. Cardin tries to block its attacks with his weapons but it gets swiped away from him and lands right next to jaune.
Meanwhile, Team RWBY, Team HHHC, and the rest of team JNPR were still collecting the sap when they heard the roar of the ursa.
"Did you guys hear that?" Ruby said, concerned. Suddenly, the remaining members of Team CRDL were seen running away from the roar.
"Ursa! Ursa!" Russel yells as he runs into yang. Yang was unfazed by him and puck him up by the shirt.
"What?!," Yang said. "Where?"
"Back there! It's got Cardin!" Russel yelled.
"Jaune!" Pyrrha said, dropping the jar she was holding.
"Yang! You and Blake, go get Professor Goodwitch!" Ruby commanded.
"You two, go with them! There could be more!" Pyrrha told Nora and Ren.
"Hailey, Dakota go as well" Sean said as he, Pyrrha, Ruby, Weiss, and Chris went to find Jaune and Cardin, but mostly Jaune. When they arrived they noticed the ursa was looming over cardin, ready to make the kill. It tried to, but was blocked by Jaune's shield. Weiss and Chris were ready to help, but pyrrha stopped them. Back to the fight, Jaune then slashes the ursa's stomach with his sword, causing it to try to crush Jaune. He rolled out of the way, but as he tried to swipe the monster's feet the ursa knocked him back with a surprise attack. Jaune got back to his feet immediately and started charging at the ursa again. Jaune then knocked behind as he tried to do a leaping attack against. Jaune took a look at his scroll and saw his aura was in the red. Jaune then began charging at the ursa with it doing the same. While they were charging at each other Pyrrha noticed something that the others didn't, which was Jaune had left himself completely open to a claw strike from the ursa. She lifted her hand out to him with a dark red energy gathering around her arm. Jaune's shield then glows the same color and it moves just in time to block the slash from the Ursa. Jaune proceeds to slice the Ursa's head clean off. Back with the rest of them, they looked at pyrrha with amazement.
"Uhh... What?" Ruby asked.
"How did you...?" Weiss asked.
"Well, Ruby has her speed, you have your glyphs, Sean has his illusions. My semblance is polarity." Pyrrha explained.
"Whoa, you can control poles..." Ruby said.
"No, you dunce! It means she has control over magnetism!" Weiss said.
"Magnets are cool, too..." Ruby whispered. Pyrrha started to walk away which was noticed by everyone.
"Wait, where are you going?" Weiss asked Pyrrha.
"Yeah! We gotta tell them what happened!" Ruby said.
"We could... Or perhaps we could keep it our little secret?" Pyrrha said as she continued to leave. The others looked at each other in understanding and left as well. With Jaune and Cardin, Jaune walked up to him and offered him a hand up which he gladly accepted.
"Holy crap, Jaune!" Cardin said.
"Don't ever mess with my team - my friends - ever again" Jaune said with a threatening tone. "Got it?" Cardin immediately looked intimidated and nodded which caused Jaune to leave with him still frozen. Later that night, Jaune was standing on top of the dorm building looking at Beacon until.
"No Cardin tonight?" Pyrrha said, making herself known. "I thought you two were best buds?"
"Pyrrha..." Jaune said, turning to her. "I'm sorry, I was a jerk! You were only trying to be nice, and... I had all this stupid macho stuff in my head-"
"Jaune! It's okay!" Pyrrha stated. "Your team really misses their leader, you know. You should come down! Ren made pancakes! No Syrup, though - you can thank Nora for that!"
"Wait!" Jaune said, which caused Pyrrha to turn around and look at Jaune. "I know I don't deserve it after all that happened, but... would you still be willing to help me... to help me become a better fighter?" This caused Pyrrha to turn around to hide her satisfied expression. Then she walked up and pushed Jaune to the ground. "Hey" Jaune whined.
"Your stance is all wrong. You need to be wider and lower to the ground." Pyrrha then offered her hand to Jaune which he accepted. "Let's try that again."
