Waverider, Star City, 2023

No matter how many times Quentin showed up on the Waverider, he still had a hard time believing that this is where his daughter, Sara, lived. But that was the last thing on his mind. "Are you sure she's okay?" He asked.

"It's Sara, Quentin, of course, she's fine," Ava told her father-in-law as they were going to the med-bay room. "Well, she is now that she stopped screaming."

"She screamed?" He asked knowing his daughter's almost inhuman pain threshold.

"Yeah, it surprised me too," Ava replied.

"Look, I know I've asked this before but how exactly did Sara get pregnant again?" Quentin asked, still confused by the exact process of this "alien" pregnancy.

"Okay, so when Bishop, whose kinda sorta my "dad" made Sara an alien-human hybrid and the alien genes from the species she comes from making it possible for her to get pregnant just by thinking about having a baby. All she needed was a second genetic source, i.e. me and then -"

"I get a grandbaby on the way." He said with a chuckle. "That's the only part I really, understand, and I'm looking forward to."

Reaching the end of the hallway, Quentin and Ava entered the medical bay where Sara laying down; holding her newborn daughter, wrapped in baby pink. As Ava joined her wife and their daughter, Quentin just stared at Sara. And he knew that he was wearing a big stupid smile on his face right now but he remembered all the times he saw Sara so disheartened or broken, to see her right at this moment so happy and content; he couldn't help but smile like a big dumb idiot.

"Dad," Sara said with a smile as she looked at him.

"Hey, baby girl." He said walking over to her side and kissed her forehead. "And who's this?"

"My baby girl," Sara replied, still wrapping her head around the idea that she was a mom. Handing her over to her father, Quentin smiled at his grandchild. "So hello to your grandpa, Laurel." She told him.

"Laurel?" He asked slightly surprised.

"Laurel Lance Sharpe," Ava added.

"You named her after her sister." He said smiling almost sadly, as Sara did the same. "Hey, Laurel. I'm your grandpa. You know, just looking at you ... I know you're gonna be an incredible woman. 'Cause both moms are incredible. And your namesake, she was incredible too. God, she would have loved to meet you. She would've been the best auntie. And as great a mother, as the two that you have." He told Sara and Ava, the three of them smiling happily.

Author's Notes: Although Sara has demonstrated a borderline callous disregard to her family on Legends, I do feel like at some point she'd have introduced Quentin to Ava. That at some point, Quentin would know he'd have a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter on the way. I once saw an article where Caity Lotz mentions she wants Quentin and Laurel (either version) to pop up on the Waverider. It's pretty much given that Sara will name her daughter after her sister, if not, I will be very surprised and a little pissed off.

Personally, I think Sara's pregnancy, while very weird is perfectly plausible. In fact, I hope and believe that someday same-sex couples will be able to have biological children together through some kind of technology.
