( night school )
The obnoxious ringing of her phone brought Elle out of her studying for a chemistry test in a few days and she quickly answered. "What?" she asked.
"We're picking you up," the voice from the other side said with no room for discussion.
"Why? Actually wait, who's we?"
"Me and Jackson, duh," came the impatient response.
"Ok, now why?" Elle asked.
"Because Scott has stood Allison up so we're gonna pick her up, have fun then us two can whip his ass when we find him, and humiliate him in front of the whole school for causing emotional distress to our apprentice," Lydia said, she had planned the whole scenario in her head and couldn't find a single fault with it.
"Oh-alright. But why is Allison our apprentice?"
"Because, she still needs to learn how things work around here and we are teaching her that," Lydia explained, again like it was a stupid question and the answer was obvious.
"How long will you be?"
"Uh- three minutes,"
"I'll get my shoes then, bye!"
"See you in a bit." Lydia said before the line went dead.
Isabelle rummaged through her room for some shoes, but decided because it was so cold outside that night, trainers would do. True to their word, Lydia and Jackson pulled up outside Elle's house in exactly three minutes after Lydia put the phone down on her. She called out a quick bye to her mother who was in the kitchen before grabbing her keys from the bowl on the side and stepping out the door.
The wind hit her straight away, piercing her skin through her jumper and jeans. She did a little run to the car and waited for Lydia to get out so she could shimmy her way into the cramped back.
"Drive, drive drive!" Elle shouted as she got her seatbelt in place and secure. Jackson sped off in direction to the Argent house, with instructions of how to get there by Lydia and Elle.
While Lydia took over the directions, Elle pulled out her phone just to warn Allison that they're on their way. A few rings later and Allison finally picks up, "We're coming to get you."
"Please don't. Okay, I'm sure he's on his way. He's only-26 minutes late," Allison excused.
"Wait a second-there, you're on speaker,"
"You hear that? First it's 'He's only 26 minutes late,' a month later it's 'He only hits me when he's drunk.' Slippery slope, Allison. Slippery slope." Lydia commented, making the situation much more drastic than what it was.
"We're picking you up," Elle said, defiantly.
"No." Allison complained.
"Too late. Lydia gets what Lydia wants." Jackson said into the phone when he pulled up next to the Argent teen, "Come on, get in. We can stop by his place and see if he's there."
Just as Allison was moving to get into the car, her phone pinged, meaning she had gotten a text, "Is that him with the best explanation ever of why he's half a freaking hour late?"
"Not exactly," Allison responded, as she read the message. She got into the back of the car next to Elle and instructed Jackson to drive to the school. They all gave her weird looks but she just shrugged her shoulders and pointed to her phone.
They finally arrived at the school and Jackson parked the car, they spotted Stiles' jeep next to them and another black car that Allison recognised as Derek's car.
"What're they doing here anyway?" Jackson asked as they got out of the car.
"All I got was this," said Allison as she showed them the text she got earlier:
From: UNKNOWN
'Meet me at the school. URGENT
-Scott'
"They lock the doors at night, you know?" said Lydia knowingly, from inside the car.
"That one's open," Allison pointed to an open set of doors that Scott and Stiles got in through. Lydia just leaned back again in her seat, an annoyed expression on her face.
"You don't need me to state the obvious, right?" Jackson asked Allison as they moved towards the steps.
"That it looks like they broke into the school? No, pretty obvious," she confirmed.
"Do you want me to come with you?" he nodded in direction to the open doors.
"It's okay," she shook her head and moved further towards them.
"Hey, Allison-" Jackson sighed as she stopped.
"You have this look like you're about to say 'Be Careful.'" she smirked, Lydia's annoyed face only increased inside the car and even Elle leaned forwards from her place in the back to get a better look.
"I am. What?" he asked when she gave him a knowing smile.
Allison's mouth opened a few times, "That concerned look on you, I've never seen it before."
"Well, I am concerned," he confirmed.
"Well, that's a good look on you," they smiled at each other and she shone the torch under her face giving a spooky impression saying, "Don't worry," she turned it off and swung it around before walking off, "I'll be right back."
"Okay," he nodded. Jackson looked back at the car and saw Lydia's unimpressed face staring at him. Elle rubbed her hands up and down Lydia's arms trying to calm her down.
Allison walked inside the school and the door that was open closed mysteriously behind her.
"Do you see that?" Jackson asked the two remaining girls from inside the car.
"See what?" asked Lydia.
"The hood on that piece of crap jeep looks crappier than usual."
"Where are you going?" Elle asks as Jackson prepared to get out of the car.
"To take a look, stay here."
"I'm not staying in the car."
"Just stay in the damn-"
"Do not leave us alone in the car," Lydia says forcefully grabbing his arm to keep him there.
"Fine. God, don't have a meltdown," he says before getting out the car. Lydia and Elle roll their eyes and both get out as well.
"Look at that. It is indeed a piece of crap. Can we get Allison and leave now?" Lydia asks as Jackson spots claw marks on the jeep and traces it with his thump, index and middle fingers.
"What are you doing? Are you getting Allison? Jackson!" Elle speaks as he backs up and makes his way towards the school. Elle and Lydia giving each other a look before following him.
Jackson, Elle and Lydia were walking down the deserted, dark corridors when Lydia said that she needed to go to the toilet. They just went through a set of double doors when she remembered there's one just to the left of them, "There's one right here."
"Are you kidding me? You have to use the bathroom now?" Jackson complained.
"Yes now. You have a problem with me performing a basic biological function?"
"You know, I'm starting to have a problem with all of your functions," this earned a slap on the arm as a warning from Elle as she followed Lydia into the bathroom. Lydia went into the nearest stall as Elle just stood by the taps waiting for her, looking at her reflection in the mirror.
"What's up?" Elle questioned.
"Nothing," Lydia sighed.
"Alright, don't give me that bullshit-tell me"
"I-I just don't like it," Lydia whined.
"Don't like what honey?" Elle asked confused.
"That Jackson is getting too close to Allison. She has Scott, and although he's not popular, he really likes her. Why does she have to have two? I love her but I just don't like it!" Lydia ranted, making her way out of the stall and towards Elle.
"I'll talk to him okay? Allison wouldn't dare do anything about it anyway, you know that."
"'Course I do. But it's him that I'm worried about," she confessed.
"McCall. Scott? Derek?" Jackson called out when he spotted a figure down the hallway leaning on a set of lockers. It looked like a man but when it heard Jackson's voice, it turned its head towards him and dropped down to all fours and walked away, across from where he was leaning a few seconds ago.
"Did you find them?" Lydia asked as she and Elle appeared out of the bathroom.
"No, no," Jackson replied, staring at where the beast had just been.
"I'm gonna call her," stated Elle as she pulled out her phone. A few rings later and Allison answered her, "You found them yet?"
"Hey. I can't seem to find them," Allison's voice came through the speaker grill.
"Alright well, we'll meet you at the lobby to get the fuck out of here,"
"Ok, give me a second and I'll be right there." Allison promised before Elle hung up on her.
"We're meeting her at the lobby, so let's move." she informed the other two. So they walked down to the lobby, every now and then checking behind them out of instinct.
Lydia pushed through some doors into the lobby and let out a sigh of relief at the sight of Allison, Scott and Stiles, "Finally! Can we go now?"
There was a creaking from above that made them all look up, "Run!" Scott shouted just as the alpha broke through the ceiling.
All six of them sprinted up the stairs and down several corridors to find refuge in an empty classroom.
"Help me get this in front of the door," Scott asked as he bolted the doors shut. All of them apart from Stiles pushed chairs, tables and cabinets in front of the door to provide a barricade for them away from the alpha.
"Scott, wait, not here-" Stiles tried staring at the massive set of windows. He was unheard by all of them except for Elle who looked up at him expectantly and caught what he was trying to tell them. The others carried on stacking things at the door.
"What was that? Scott, what was that?" Allison was hyperventilating.
"What came out of the ceiling?" Lydia asked?
"Will you just help me? The chairs, stack the chairs." While the others did what they were told, Stiles and Elle stood by the windows. Elle grabbing onto Stiles' arm for comfort or safety she didn't quite no but it made her feel better and Stiles felt like he was important for once. Batman not Robin.
"Guys-Can we just wait a second? You guys, listen to me, w-Can we wait a second? Guys? Stiles talking. Can we hang on one second, please?" They carried on ignoring him when Elle whistled to get their attention, she then gestured to Stiles to carry on talking.
"Hello! Okay, nice work. Really beautiful job, everyone. Now-what should we do about the 20 foot wall of windows?" Stiles' sarcasm leaked out of him as he spun to show off the massive wall made up of windows.
"Can somebody please explain to me what's going on, because I'm freaking out here. And I would like to know why. Scott?" Allison begged.
"Somebody killed the janitor." Stiles said bluntly, starting of the hoard of questions soon being thrown his way.
"What?" Lydia wondered.
"Yeah, the janitor's dead." Elle and the others looked at him in shock.
"What's he talking about? Is this a joke?" Allison looked towards Scott.
"What, who killed him?" Jackson asked.
"No, no, no, no. This was supposed to be over. The mountain lion killed-" Lydia panicked, her mind babbled by the false stories, and events that had happened.
"No, don't you get it? There wasn't a mountain lion," Jackson shouted at her.
Elle just glared at him in response. "Jackson? Shut up!"
"Who was it? What does he want? What's happening? Scott!" Allison was really starting to piss Elle off with all her whining. They were all basically in the same boat and although Scott and Stiles were there first, they probably didn't stop for a chat with a serial killer.
"I-I don't know. I-I just-If-if we go out there, he's gonna kill us," stuttered Scott.
"Us? He's gonna kill us?" Lydia asked, really not liking the 'us'.
"Who? Who is it?" Allison bombarded again.
"It's Derek. It's Derek Hale." Scott lied. If he was dead, it wouldn't matter, right?
"Derek Hale?" God, Isabelle hadn't heard that name in years. "Derek killed the janitor?" Elle clarified. That had to be bullshit. It may have been a while but the Derek she knew would never have done that.
"Are you sure?" the Argent checked.
"I saw him."
"The mountain li-" Lydia tried again.
"No, Derek killed them."
"All of them?"
"Yeah, starting with his own sister." Scott said, walking over to a desk and placed his hands either side and leant on it. Not looking at any of them.
"The bus driver?"
Scott nodded, "And the guy in the video store-it's been Derek the whole time. He's in here with us. And if we don't get out now-He's going to kill us too."
Jackson said forcefully, "Call the cops."
"No," Stiles butted in simply.
"Wh-what do you mean 'No?'" Jackson asked thoroughly confused on why the shouldn't get the emergency services involved. Elle understood though. Stiles' dad would come and what if he got hurt again?
"I mean no. You wanna hear it in spanish? Noh. Look, Derek killed three people, okay? We don't know what he's armed with."
"Your dad is armed with an entire sheriff's department. Call him." Jackson said simply.
"I'm calling." Lydia said, pulling out her phone from her bag and dialled 911.
Stiles pleaded, "No, Lydia, would you just hold on a sec-" when she pressed it to her ear.
"Yes, we're at Beacon Hills high school. We're trapped, and we need you to-but-She hung up on me." Lydia said, concerned if they were allowed to do that.
"The police hung up on you?" Allison inquired disbelieving her.
"She said they got a tip warning them that there are gonna be prank calls about a break - in at the high school. She said if I called again that they're gonna trace it and have me arrested."
"Okay, then call again," Allison suggested in an obvious tone.
"No, they won't trace a cell and they'll send a car to your house before they send anyone here." Stiles sighed, knowing the procedure off by heart.
"What the—what-what is this? Why does Derek wanna kill us? Why is he killing anyone?" Allison challenged, panicking.
"Why's everyone looking at me?" Scott said. They were all in a line a and he felt very trapped.
"Is he the one that sent her the text?" Lydia demanded.
"No. I mean, I don't know."
"Is he the one that called the police?"
"I don't know!" Scott snapped, finally losing his patience. Allison turned away from him, hurt.
