Timeline: The story takes place a few years after the world created by Dlohov14 as described in Recordatus Caritate. I am in love with that world and most of my stories will be based on it. Short recap: Michael is alive, Varga has been pardoned and is now Selene's right hand. They all live in the mansion/coven and Selene, David and Lena are elders. I would highly recommend to read Recordatus Caritate!
Disclaimer: (Unfortunately) I do not own Underworld or any of the characters. New characters and the story idea are mine :)
Eve already put all their stuff in the trunk and was anxiously waiting for her parents to appear. She was walking back and forth in the hope to lose that anxious feeling she had. The sight of her father carrying her mother was something she would never forget. Her father's face was ashen and her mother was almost completely covered in blood. She shuddered at the memory.
She reminded herself that her father had had medical training back when he was human and he had continued his training at the coven. If someone could save her mother, it was him. But still, that feeling of losing her mother was haunting her.
Eve continued pacing, deep in thought. Suddenly her thoughts were disrupted by a bone chilling cry. Eve froze in her path. 'Mom…' She whispered breathlessly. She could barely think anymore. Her focus went to the safe house.
Eve set a foot towards the door as another cry sounded. She felt it through her whole body and landed on her knees. She never heard anything this painful. The thought of the sound coming from her mother made her freeze in time. She could only stare at her hands. Eve just sat there for seconds, minutes, hours? She couldn't tell how long it lasted.
Suddenly everything was quiet, even the sounds in the forest had died down. The silence made Eve awaken from her shock. She looked up, but the door was still closed.
Eve got up and started pacing again. She kept herself from running towards the safe house. This can still mean two things she kept telling herself, but the thought, or rather hope, of seeing her mother alive again diminished with every step.
She kept pacing until the door of the safe house slammed shut. She saw her father walking toward her. Eve listened carefully and almost jumped when she heard her mothers' heartbeat. She's still alive. Her face lid up until she saw the strain on her father's face. She felt bad she was so happy when she could only image the pain her father must be going through.
'Can you stay with your mother in the backseat?' Her father asked.
His tone was sweet, but she knew he was holding on to everything he had not to break down.
Eve nodded, not sure if she could keep it together herself.
