Part 5: Up in the dark
"Alright lets go, but this rope is in the way," Luffy said taking off the rope around him before he Zolo and Sanji jumped through the coating.
"Hey don't, you have to keep this on so we can keep you tied to the ship," Nami said.
"Namis worried about me," Sanji said with his nose only bleeding a little.
"You guys keep it busy, I'm going to hit it with something big," Luffy said looking serious.
"Fine then will just beat it while your getting ready," Zolo said calmly.
"No don't, were getting it so it can pull the ship for us," Luffy said looking annoyed before noticing a tentacle head for the ship.
"I got this," Franky said before pointing his arm at the tentacle, "Franky rocket launcher," he said before firing out multiple rockets and stopping the tentacle from hitting them.
"Awesome," Luffy, Usopp and Chopper said looking excited.
"Ah its coming back again," Usopp said.
"Why does it keep trying to attack us, rumble," Chopper said before eating a rumble ball and running to the side of the ship, "Guard point," he said becoming massive ball of fur and blocking the tentacle but the ship had ended up being pushed.
"Way to go Chopper," Usopp said cheering.
"Wait were heading into that cliff side," said Nami noticing they were heading towards a sea mount.
"It might be difficult, but I should be able to manage it for a moment," Robin said crossing her arms before Hermione ran to the side of the ship.
"Wait a second Robin," she said before taking out her wand and taking a deep breath, "Just like earlier," she thought before pointing her wand forward and a massive shield appeared stopping the sunny from hitting the sea mount.
"What," Chopper and Usopp said looking surprised.
"Now Robin," Hermione said before the archeologist nodded.
"Gigentesto Mano," she said as multiple arms appeared before forming giants arms and pushing the ship away. "Nice thinking," Robin said smiling and Hermione nodded before putting her wand away.
"Right lets go," Luffy said before pushing his right back and stretching out of the bubble. It then grew large before turning black, "Colors armament," he said.
Sanji then noticed one of the krakens tentacles heading right for Luffy, "Hes trying to stop him," he thought before jumping out of his bubble. "Blue walk," he thought before jumping towards the tentacle at a fast speed.
"Hes out of his bubble," Brook said.
"Yeah but look at how fast hes going, hes a fast a fishman," Usopp said while Sanji continued jumping forward.
"I ran from those monsters for a long time, so this is nothing to me," Sanji said before his right left began look like it was on fire, "Diab Jambe, grill shot," he thought kicking the tentacle and burning it.
Then another of the tentacles was cut into six pieces, "Three sword style, six thousand worlds," Zolo said from his bubble.
"Hey don't cut it up, it useless without its tentacles," Luffy said looking annoyed before moving forward, "Gum Gum," he said while the Kraken looked up at him annoyed.
"ELEPHANT GUN," he yelled punching the kraken right in the face and knocking it out.
"Hey that's the move he used earlier," Usopp said.
"Just how strong did Luffy get over the last two years," said Nami before Hermione noticed something in one of the krakens tentacles.
"What is that," She said before a large shark escaped from the tentacle.
"Hey is that a shark," Luffy said.
"How did it get there," said Zolo.
"It kind of looks like its wearing a shirt," Sanji said from his bubble before they noticed the kraken falling into the current and they began to be pulled in as well.
"Oh no there being pulled in," Usopp before the ship began to shaken and they all grabbed onto the railing.
"Franky quickly turn to port, otherwise were going to hit the sea wall," said Nami. "Everyone else grab onto the mast and don't let go," she said before the ship began to fall into the current going further down. But during this in the infirmary Stars eyes moved a little. A few moments later the crew was in a dark area of the sea.
"Uh what happened," Usopp said.
"Usopp your alright," said Nami.
"Geese why is it so dark here, I cant see anything," Usopp said before standing up.
"I can take care of that," Hermione said before taking out her wand, "Lumos," she said before a light appeared at the end of her wand and lit up the deck.
"That's handy," Robin said.
"Hey wait where Luffy, Zolo and Sanji?" Usopp said.
"They fell down the current as well, but we cant see any of them," she said making Usopp look surprised, "I hope the sea creatures didn't chew them up," she said.
"Your imagination is scary," Usopp said.
"Hearing it in person is completely different," Hermione said before moving her wand around.
"Anyway theres no way we can find them anywhere in the dark," Usopp said.
"We have to be twenty thousand feet under water by now, not even the shark submerge would be able to handle this much pressure," Franky said.
"Maybe were near fishman island now, Luffy, Zolo and Sanji may have already gone ahead of us," Chopper said.
"Camie did mention that Fishman island is thirty thousand feet underwater," Robin said.
"You mean we still have another ten thousand to go," Chopper said looking shocked by the news.
"Man what are we going to do, were stuck in the dark and we cant find those guys anywhere," Usopp said looking down.
"That's why I told them to take the lifeline, but I guess theres no complaining about that now," Nami said before looking at Hermione, "Any chance you can make that light bigger?" She asked.
"Yes but it doesn't last long," Hermione said before Franky spoke up.
"Nothing to worry about, I got this handled," Franky said smiling, "It just so happens I have a light feature," he said.
"Oh are your eyes gonna light up?" Chopper asked looking excited.
"Franky, nipple lights," Franky said as two large lights appeared on his chest.
"Why is there light coming from there," Usopp said looking annoyed before they all saw what had been revealed by the light.
They were surrounded by multiple large sea creatures and some of them were looking at the ship. Most of the crew mates were screaming looking surprised.
"Just what are we suppose to do here," Usopp said looking worried as the sunny continued moving forward.
"We cant just stop the ship so will just have to be careful," said Nami.
"Hey look a large jellyfish," Chopper said as the tentacles moved through the coating.
"Wait chopper don't touch it, it might be poisonous," Robin said before noticing a large fish heading towards them. Its mouth open revealing its large sharp teeth.
"Franky," Nami said.
"Mini coup de burst," Franky said before the sunny shot forward only a little and dodged the giant fish that ended up eating the jelly fish.
"It ate the jelly fish," Chopper said before the fish stopped moving and the jellyfish came out of its mouth, "And now its dead," he said.
"The Jellyfish was probably covered in a deadly toxin," said Robin.
"The sea floor is scary and dark," Chopper said nervous while Hermione picked up some rope on the ground.
"Uh where is Caribou," she said getting everyones attention.
"Your right, he wasn't tied down so it could be possible he could have fallen out when we went down the current," Brook said.
"Yeah but he was defiantly tied up with those ropes, wait maybe he's somewhere still on the ship," Usopp said before looking surprised, "Wait Choppers room," he said.
"Ahh Stars still asleep in there," said Chopper about to rush off before Hermione spoke up.
"Its fine, even while hes asleep he cant be hurt," she said.
"Like how he didn't get cut during that battle earlier?" Nami asked.
"Yes but I'm sure his powers will wake him up if that happens," Hermione said before looking towards the door that lead to Choppers room, "This is one of the few times ive actually seen him be a heavy sleeper," she said.
"Well if hes not in there then he could be in any of the other rooms," Usopp said looking nervous.
"What that's creepy," Nami said. While they were talking inside a barrel Caribou had taken on a mud form and was looking through the lid.
"Maybe ill take a look in the women's room while I'm at it, but its good now that their three main fighters are gone," Caribou thought before looking annoyed, "But that guys still here and with all the noise their making he could wake up at any second," he thought.
"Straw hats gone so I cant bring back his head, but ill just take one of theirs to prove that their all dead, but I cant make my move yet given how deep we are," he thought but he didn't noticed during the time he was thinking Franky was getting closer to the barrel.
"Ill just wait till they get to fishman island, then ill make my move," he thought before looking surprised as Franky shut the barrel with boards. "Hey what are you doing let me out of here," he said trying to escape.
"Fond him looks like hes a devil fruit user and logia type at that," Franky said before noticing Chopper was lying on the ground panting, "Hey you doing alright little buddy?" He asked.
"Its so hot," he said before noticing the women in the crew had started taking off their coats.
"Were in an underwater volcano region, thats why its warm," Nami said.
"Its over, if they've been out this long then Luffy, Zolo and Sanji are probably gone by now," Chopper said looking upset.
"Hey don't give up on them just yet, they would never go down that easy," Usopp said before noticing a light up ahead, "Hey could that be them up ahead," he said as Chopper ran forward.
"Maybe its Fishman island," he said.
"We have gotten deeper," Franky said before the lights on his chest, started flashing, "Can you see us," he said.
"What are you trying to use those for," Usopp said looking annoyed before Hermione walked to the front of the ship and sent out the light on her wand.
"That's not Fishman island," she said looking surprised to see a giant fish with a light attached to its head.
"It's a giant Angler fish," Nami said looking surprised.
"We have fallen for its trap," Robin said as the door leading to Choppers office opened.
"We need to get out of here," Nami said, "Franky," she said before a male voice got their attention.
"Hold it," he said making them all look surprised, "Dragon shot, impact version," he said. Then all the straw hats look surprised as a giant blast of blue energy shot through the coating and right at the fish. It caused a massive explosion and fish started falling and looked unconscious.
"What was that," Nami said looking surprised.
"That was dragon shot," Hermione said before standing up and looking surprised as she turned around. She then smiled with tears in her eyes.
"I try to catch a nap and there's all this noise going on out here," he said moving his left arm as it turned back to normal.
Star then smiled, "But I'm happy I don't get to miss out on more of this," he said when the crew cheered.
"Star, Heaven," they cheered and the straw hats look surprised when Hermione vanished and then re appeared in front of her husband. The two of them hugged and Star held his wife close.
"You okay," he said as the two of them looked each other in the eye.
"I should be asking you that, you were exhausted after the fight," she said still smiling before hugging him again.
"Don't worry I'm okay," he said before Robin spoke up.
"Maybe we should give these two a minute," she said making the couple blush.
"Robin," Nami said while she laughed and Star and Hermione walked together onto the grass deck.
"Star thank goodness your up, Luffy, Zolo and Sanji are missing," Chopper said looking worried.
"What do you mean," he said when a loud voice spoke in front of them.
"Koro," he said. They all walked to the front of the ship looking surprised to see a large sea creature.
"It looks like a man," Usopp said looking surprised.
"Wait a minute, Wadatsumi," Star said making the straws look surprised as they all looked at him.
"Heaven how do you know his name," Hermione said before the large sea creature spoke up again.
"You got knocked out by these guys huh, what did I say about trying to eat ships," he said, "Captain Vender Deckens going to be mad," he said.
"Wait did we just knock out a friend of his," Usopp said looking nervous.
"Franky you still have enough left for one more shot right?" Star asked.
"Yeah thanks to you taking that guy out," Franky said before they all began to hear the sound of signing.
They all then looked surprised when they saw what looked like a wrecked ship sailing towards them. Its sails ruined.
"What is that," Hermione said.
"No way theres one down here too," said Usopp.
"A GHOST SHIP," Brook shouted looking frightened.
"Why are you scared," Usopp said looking annoyed.
"Because this ship is legendary, it shouldn't even be here," Brook said. "Long ago there was a pirate captain who went mad and threw his entire crew overboard, drowning them," he said.
"He was mad at the gods and for what he did he was cursed to sail the seas forever," Brook said.
"Wadatsumi, take down that ship so we can take their treasure," a voice said from the ship.
"Got it," the large sea creature said bringing its right fist back.
"Franky," Star said looking serious.
"On it, Mini coup de burst," Franky said as the sunny moved out of the way from the fist and dodged the hit.
"Oh no I missed, guess ill have to try again," said Wadatsumi.
"Guys I'm all out of juice," Franky said before they all look surprised when a large tentacle punched the sea creature in the head.
"It's the kraken," someone on the other ship said sounding surprised.
"Alright that's enough," a male voice said stopping the kraken from punching Wadatsumi again.
"Hey guys were back," Luffy said from the bubble he, Zolo and Sanji we're sharing. "We've been looking everywhere for you, me and Sanjis bubble burst so we had to get into Zolos" he said.
"Nami, Robin, I'm," Sanji said before noticing someone was standing on the deck. "Hey look whos finally up," he said.
Luffy looked confused before noticing Star waving at him, "Hey your up," he said smiling before they got through the coating and they landed on the deck.
"Glad to have you back Luffy," Star said as he helped him up.
"Get Up Wadatsumi, you need to get your payback," the first voice from the other ship. But the sea creature was still unconscious from being hit by the kraken.
"Hey I got something to say to you," Sanji said standing in front of Star looking annoyed, "Why'd you tell moss head to keep an eye on me," he said.
"Because of I know how much of a pervert you are," he said calmly making him look shocked while most of the male straw hats laughed.
"Hes got a point," Franky said laughing.
"Hey you don't get to say anything," Sanji said looking annoyed, "Besides I know not to flirt with a married woman," he said.
"Yet your the kind of guy to peep," Star said calmly again.
"Wait a minute hang on," said Nami and everyone noticed she looked nervous, "Hermione told us you know of all our backgrounds," she said.
"Yeah that must mean you saw our adventures right," Luffy said smiling.
"That's right," Star said smiling.
"Wait that means you saw what Nami did back in Alabasta," Usopp said as the navigator covered her face.
"Wait a minute Nami the only thing we saw when you did that was your back," Hermione said quickly.
"Hey I felt weird when that happened," Luffy said looking confused.
"Wait does she mean," Sanji said before Star stopped him.
"Wait Sanji don't thing about that now," he said.
"Well that's a relief," Nami said before noticing the kraken next to them, "Hey Luffy did you really manage to tame the kraken," she said while the kraken smiled.
"Uh huh, hes going to take us the quick way through to fishman island," Luffy said. "Thanks Surume," he said.
"That means dried squid idiot," Nami said before looking confused remembering what he said when they were talking about Alabasta, "Wait, what did he mean when he said he felt weird," she thought.
"Well I'm glad were getting there faster, but we still need to be careful not to hit anything," Usopp said before they all heard the sound of rumbling.
"Whats that," Luffy said as the rumbling started to get louder.
"Captain Vander Decken this isnt good," a male voice said from the other ship as Wadatsumi woke up from the noise.
"Oh no," Nami said getting everyones attention, "The underwater volcano is about to erupt," she said making them look surprised.
