Part 10: Madam Sharleys warning
As they were walking outside Camie spoke up, "I don't know about what Gold Rodger asked her, but a long time ago Madam Sharley said a lot of pirates would come to fishman island and a few days later the great pirate era started," Camie said making Usopp look surprised.
"Wait for real," Usopp said.
"Yeah but she seen a lot of other things too, like the war at Marineford and the death of Whitebeard," Camie said.
"It must have been easy to see something like that," Hermione said, "Me and Heaven saw it all clearly," she said.
"Yeah and more then once," Star said.
"You mean you read the story twice?" Nami asked.
"Well yes but I also saw it through the anime as well," Star said making her look confused before Camie pointed out the building in front of them.
"Look everyone were here," she said pointing at the large building with a sign that read mermaid café at the front.
"Imagine what Sanji would think if he knew he was at the back of here," Usopp said before hearing a stomach grumble. Everyone looked to see it was Luffy.
"Guess I'm kind of Hungry now, does this place have meat," he said.
"Sorry Luffy but Merfolk don't eat meat, we have Kelp brule, seaweed tart and Kelp soulfle, but if your looking for meat we have Shellfish, scallop sandwiches, and clam pizza," she said.
"That isn't meat, you take that back right now," Luffy said looking annoyed.
"Luffy calm down," Usopp said.
"I wont, she can't disrespect meat like that," Luffy said.
"I'm with Luffy on this, sorry Camie but back in my world I'm sure that counts as sea food," Star said, "But then again I never ate much of it," he thought.
"See Stars on my side," Luffy said before the entrance to the café opened.
"Yohohoho," Brook said walking out with two mermaids and the starfish Pappagu who was wearing sunglasses.
"Brook its you," Usopp said smiling.
"Usopp, Luffy, Nami, Star, Hermione and Ms Camie you're here," Brook said.
"Straw hat, long nose, Nami ive missed you guys," Pappagu said happily, "Wait who are those two," he said pointing at Star and Hermione.
"These are our new crew mates, Star and his wife Hermione," said Luffy pointing them out.
"Hey Pappagu, nice to meet you," Star said waving.
"You two picked some crew to join up with," Pappagu said.
"Well luckily we knew plenty about them before we joined up with them," Hermione said before one of the mermaids next to Brook spoke up.
"Make sure to come back again okay soul king," she said.
"We're big fans of yours," the second one said.
"I will definitely make sure to come back my mermaid fans," Brook said before the mermaids went back inside.
Brook then seemed to look like he was finding it hard to stand, "It feels like they've taken my back backbone, but wait if I lose my bones then ill die," Brook said, "Though I don't mind if that happens today, oh wait I already died," he said.
"Just what happened to you in there Brook," Usopp said.
"Definitely looks like he enjoyed himself in there," Nami said before Pappagu spoke up.
"Hey wait up, you all aren't leaving today right, I was just about to head back to my place you all should tag along," Brook said, "You like sea king meat right," he said.
"Wait you have some," Luffy said looking excited.
"I'm a wild man, I don't eat the sea weed or kelp, I only eat the sea king meat," said Pappagu.
"Oh Pappagu, I brought you your favorite clams," Camie said handing him over a bag of clams.
"Yeah clams, I always look forward to these," Pappagu said happily.
"Your eating shellfish," Usopp said looking annoyed.
"The mermaids don't eat meat or fish, but we eat these every day and theres plenty of food to go around," Pappagu said, "Hey taxi over here," he said getting a large fish to swim over to them.
"Hey look at this," Brook said pointing out a wanted poster of Vander Decken, "Why do they have a wanted poster of him," he said looking surprised.
"Wait did you all see him, hes the bandit of the sea and the army has been looking for him for years," Pappagu said, "Come on," he said as they all got onto the fish taxi before it started moving.
"Now this guy has been sending love letters to mermaid princess every week, he started out with just letters and packages but now hes sending threats and weapons," Pappagu said, "Asking for her hand in marriage," he said.
"Doesn't he know when to give up," Nami said before Hermione spoke up.
"That's it," she said getting everyones attention, "Oh sorry Pappagu, I remembered why I remembered seeing the Kraken before when I havent read that far, it was the anime," she said.
"Oh yeah, we only got as far as near the end of the adventure here," Star said.
"Wait you all saw the Kraken," Pappagu said looking surprised.
"Yeah Surume, I hope hes okay," Luffy said smiling.
"Okay, where was I, right, the mermaid princess couldn't do anything," Pappagu said.
"That's right, so her father king Neptune sent out his three sons, the ones you saw earlier," Camie said, "They have the whole army with them but they were never able to find him," he said.
"Camie I was going to say that," Pappagu said looking down.
"King Neptune the god of the sea has four children, the mermaid pricness is the youngest and her three brothers are the oldest," Camie said.
"What I want to know is who we saw out there," Brook said.
"The legend changes over time bones, captain Vander Decken did exist but he ended up here on fishman island and died here," Pappagu said, "The ship you all saw was probably the legendary flying dutchman, but its captain is a descendant of the first, I think its," he said before Camie interrupted him.
"Hes Vander Decken IX," she said.
"Oh come on Camie," Pappagu said looking down again.
"So that's it, I thought I was going to die and become nothing but bones, but that's what I already am," Brook said.
"Hey Nami, check this out," Luffy said pointing at the ground below them.
"What is it," she said before noticing an old woman with fins for feet.
"Shes just like old lady Kokoro, shes got fins for feet and Camie yours will be the same when you turn thirty right," Luffy said.
"Yes but how did you know about that," said Camie.
"Hey look theres a fishmen with his family," Hermione said walking over and pointing out a fishman with his two children. One of them being a fishman and the other a baby merman in a wagon.
"Cute, but why is his brother and father fishmen?" Nami asked looking at Pappagu.
"Oh when a fishman or fishwoman marry a mermaid or merman their kids can be either fishmen or merman," Pappagu said.
"Wow theres all different kinds of them," Usopp said.
"Here lets take the highway," Pappagu said as the fish taxi moved onto a water road and then they were passing by a large building.
"Hey whats that," said Usopp.
"Oh that's fishman island candy factory," Pappagu said.
"Hey Heaven do you recognize that pirate flag," Hermione said pointing at the front of the building.
"Yeah that flag belongs to the crew of Big Mom, to be more specific shes one of the four emperors," Star said sitting up, "Hey Pappagu mind if I tell them all the islands situation," he said.
"Yeah sure go ahead," Pappagu said.
"Basically before the war fishman island was under the protection of Whitebeard but then Big Mom took over after he died," Star said, "If I remember right she only asks for sweets in return every month, that's what the factory is for," he said.
"She only asks for sweets," Nami said looking confused.
"Yeah but I think Jimebies crew is also involved," Star said, "Fishman island needed the protection since pirates are always coming through here to reach the new world," he said.
"But if big Mom is protecting this place after Whitebeard that makes her good right?" Luffy asked.
"Wrong," Star said now looking serious, "Ive seen her Luffy, she isn't good and Pappagu you remember Whitebeard never asked for anything in return for his protection right," he said looking at the star fish.
"Yeah that's right, but I thought it was just business for big Mom," he said.
"So shes one of the four emperors like Shanks, I wonder if will ever meet her," Luffy said.
"Hey all of you look up ahead," Pappagu said and they looked to see a large building ahead of them.
"This is Gyovery hills, all the rich folk live here," Pappagu said.
"The big Coral mansion ahead of us is where Pappagu lives," Camie said.
"Wait really, but hes a starfish," Usopp said looking surprised.
Back at Coral hills someone's screamed and it got everyones attention and they all looked to see it was Madam Sharley who was now outside.
"Madam Sharley," one of the fishmen said.
"Its owner off the mermaid café," another one said.
"Did something happen?" A mermaid asked.
"Find him now, the pirate with the straw hat, drive him out of fishman island right now," she said.
"Wait why," a fishmen said looking confused.
"Did you see the future," a mermaid said.
"I didn't want to look but I sensed something calamitous in him and then I saw the future, ugh," she said with her hands on her head.
"What is it," a fishmen said.
"What did you see madam Sharley?" A mermaid asked.
"I wish this prophecy wont come true," Sharley said before looking up surprised, "The pirate with the straw hat, straw hat Luffy will bring destruction to fishman island," she said. Meanwhile in her mind she saw fishman island destroyed and standing in it was a pirate wearing a straw hat.
