"Gather around Rangers and hear the story of the beast stallion, who's strength was known across the land. The Legendary Catastros!" As Udonna spoke a black ghost horse rose from the pages of the books and galloped over their heads to the crystal ball. The teens turned to look and saw the story unfold as Udonna continued to speak.

"Many have tried in vain to break the mightiest creature of them all, but Catastros was stronger than a hundred men and no one was able to harness his fearsome power. Catastros fled into the forest during the Great Battle of Good and Evil but before the seal was closed, evil reached up and grabbed Catastros down to the lowest depths of the Pit."

"That was the scariest story I have ever heard!" said Chip excitedly. "Tell it again."

"Even I'm creeped out," said Vida as a shiver ran down her spine. Novi looked over at her as did the others. "Just a little."

"Well, I'm not scared," said Xander.

Suddenly the lights flickered before the power went off. When it came back on, Xander was in Vida's arms.

"Just making sure you're safe, V," said Xander his voice shaking slightly making Novi and the others laugh and Vida dumped him on the ground.

"That's my job," teased Novi coming over and putting an arm around Vida's shoulders.

"You guys can't possibly be afraid of a silly horse," said Nick.

"Make no mistake Catastros is a force to be reckoned with, Nick," warned Udonna.

"But Koragg must have tamed him, since he has control over him," said Maddie.

"Yes, for Catastros remains loyal to Koragg to this day," said Udonna,

"Ugh, don't you just love a good brainstorm, washes away the stress of the day," said Claire coming in from a back room.

As she walked around the table Novi caught sight of her, but something was wrong. Instead of her brown hair, there was a huge pile of what looked to be some kind of cream. Novi covered her mouth hiding a laugh but when the others saw her, they started snickering and Novi couldn't hold back her laughter.

"Claire you…you're steaming," offered Maddie.

"Yeah, I crossed a hot cocoa spell with a spell of protection. It keeps me warm on these cold, stormy nights," explained Claire laughing with them.

"Your hair," Vida managed to say between laughs.

"Huh?" asked Claire.

"Your hair," Vida choked out again.

Claire touched the said of her face, feeling something there and put her finger in her mouth to taste it. A look of horror crossed her face as she then put both hands in the creamy pile.

"AH! I forgot to omit the part about toppings! I'm allergic to whipped cream!" she shouted.

Claire took quick inhales of breath, and the others took several steps back, Claire turned facing Udonna and sneezed, and splatted Udonna with the whipped cream. A look of shock crossed Udonna face, and she left the room.

"Nick quick, point your wand at me and say Finishio," Claire said hurriedly before she sneezed again. "It will make it disappear."

Nick took out his wand and did as Claire had instructed him.

"Finishio?"

"Thanks Nick. Well, ugh…I better go," said Claire and she disappeared into one of the back rooms.

Novi and the others minus Nick showed up at the Rock Porium the next day and it wasn't until two hours into their shift before Nick finally appeared.

"Nice of you to join us," said Xander as he walked in.

"Sorry I didn't sleep well last night," said Nick pulling on his purple Rock Porium t-shirt.

"Ah did the scary thunder keep you up?" asked Vida in a mocking tone. Nick just glared at her. "Oh, I forgot, you're not afraid of anything right?"

"Very Funny," he replied.

Suddenly their morphers chimed which could only mean trouble.

"No rest for the weary, eh?" said Novi as she past him.

The teens raced to the city center and looked around for the dark energy that Udonna had told them about.

"Look," said Maddie pointing up into the sky.

Novi followed her finger and saw a dark spell seal appear and Koragg came out of it.

"Ethe Major Catastros!"

Another spell seal appeared and Catastros appeared.

"Let's ranger up!" said Nick as he pulled out his morpher and the others followed suit.

"Magical Source, Mystic Force!"

"Sumbol unithos equestras"

"Prepare to be defeated!" said Koragg as he towered about them in his Centaurus Wolf Megazord.

"How can we fight him without our Megazord power?" asked Vida.

"Come one guys, we can do this," Novi urged the team trying to raise their spirits, but she knew this wasn't going to be easy.

"We don't have a choice," agreed Nick.

"Yeah! Let's Titan up," said Xander.

"Dragon Formation!" the six teens called in unison.

The Dragon rose into the skies as they fired a fireball at Koragg, it didn't do much, but it gave them time land a short distance in front of him.

"You don't have all our powers Koragg," said Nick.

"That was nothing," Koragg said before he drew a dark spell seal and sent it at them. As the spell hit them, they broke apart into their individual titans and they landed on the ground. They tried to get up, but the blast had done damage and they were unable to.

"Get up and Fight," said Koragg standing over them.

Suddenly something seemed to hit Koragg from behind and they could hear Necrolai voices coming from behind him.

"That will teach you to lie to Morticon."

"What! I will crush you, hag," said Koragg turning to face her.

"You'll have to catch me first," she replied before she flew off.

"My own allies are turning against me. I must deal with this," said Koragg.

"Basilichi Infredo!"

Before anyone could stop him, Nick leapt to his feet and grabbed a hold of Koragg. Novi watched as the spell seal around them began to wobble and Koragg was split from Catastros, and it and Nick disappeared.

"Nick!" Maddie cried out.

"No!" said Xander.

"Udonna!" the teens shouted as soon as they entered Rootcore.

"What, what is it?" she asked appearing in the room.

"Nick's gone," said Chip.

"We tried to contact him on his morpher, but he didn't answer," Vida explained breathlessly.

"Okay, we are battling Koragg, then poof Nick gets sucked into a seal with Catastros," Xander explained.

"And Udonna, I think something went wrong with Koragg's spell. When Nick jumped in, the seal started shaking and it cause Koragg and Catastros to be separated.

"Nick must have disrupted an evil spell and warped the dark seal. Since we do not know what dimension Nick is in, I can't transport you there," said Udonna.

"We have to do something. Come on guys," Chip said grabbing at Vida's arm before he rushed off to the crystal ball but to no avail.

"Even the crystal ball can't find him," said Maddie hopelessly.

"This is bad, really bad," said Vida.

Novi watched as the others rushed around Rootcore, trying to find a way to bring Nick back or at least find out where he was. She walked over to Udonna who was busy with a potion.

"Udonna, I think I might have a way to track Nick. When he ran off the other day, I think I was able to sense his fire energy, I was able to track him to the beach. Do you think I could use that again to track him now?" she asked.

"Your fire magic is different to Nick's. you being a ranger only strengthens your connection to your elemental abilities that you were born with, while Nick's fire is through magical means not an inherit gift," Udonna explained.

"But I was able to track him before," Novi argued. "If I could find a spell that would amplify that ability, I would be able to track him, right?"

"In theory yes, but with your lack of control of your fire power, it would be dangerous not only to you but anyone around you when you attempt the spell. You could lose control," warned Udonna.

"That is a risk I am willing to take. We need Nick back before Morticon sends Koragg to fight us, knowing we are weaker being a ranger down," said Novi firmly.

"Well very, the book you will need is over there,' said Udonna pointing to a shelf across the room.

Novi walked over and found the book Udonna had indicated, she took the book over to the table, flipping through that pages until she found the right spell. She knew Udonna was right about it being risky. She could lose control either cause a huge fire she couldn't control or set Solar loose on her unsuspecting team, she didn't know which one would be worse, but she also knew she couldn't sit around and do nothing out of fear.

Novi studied the spell playing with the locket around her neck. She opened the clasp and looked at the photo inside. It was the only picture she had of her father, a man she had only heard stories about and yet she didn't even know his name, just that he was a great warrior. She snapped the locket closed and held it tightly in her hand. It had been a present on her ninth birthday, before everything she had known changed forever.

Novi shook the memories from her head and focused on the book in front of her. The spell itself wasn't too difficult, just a few words she needed to speak to enhance her powers, but she needed to be in complete control when she did otherwise it would be disastrous. Once she had the spell memorized, she figured it would be better to find a clearing in the forest to attempt the spell so that if something went wrong, she was not near anybody that could get hurt.

Novi walked through the woods until she found a large clearing where there would be less risk of damage if something went wrong and she sat down the ground, closing her eyes, and taking several deep breathes clearing her mind of any worries and doubt. Once it was clear she focused in on her elemental core, drawing on its powers.

She stood up and curled her hand into a fist and felt her palm get warm and she could see an orange glow between her fingers. She flicked her fingers out and to her surprise a small fireball on her palm. She smiled as she watched the flames flicker as she moved her fingers. She closed her other hand waiting until she felt the heat and flicked it open to see a flame appear in that hand as well. She watched joyfully as the two flames dance on her palms. Feeling confident that she was in control she drew on her core again and smiled as the flames grew higher but never left her hands.

"Amplio Ingis!"

That when things started to go wrong. The flames leapt higher and spread down her arms and she started to panic as she no longer felt in control. She shook her hand trying to rid herself of the flames but to no avail. Where she had shaken her hands, small fires had started until she was surrounded in a circle of flames.

"No, No NO," she cried out as she became more panicked.

Suddenly she heard a familiar voice.

"Novi!"

She looked up to see Vida approaching her.

"Vida stays back," she warned but Vida didn't listen.

"What? How?" asked Vida.

"Vida, you need to go," said Novi her voice shaking.

"I'm not leaving. It kinda looks like you need help," said Vida calmly.

"I said go!" Novi said through gritted teeth. She hadn't meant it to come out at harshly as it did. "I'm sorry I just don't want you to get hurt because of me."

"It would hurt me more if I just walked away and something happened to you, just talk to me. We can figure this out." said Vida reassuringly. "How did this happen in the first place? I didn't know we could use our powers like that."

"You can't, I can because I could control elements before I became a ranger. Being a ranger only channels my powers. I am what is known as a four-core elemental because I have the ability to learn to control over Earth, Air, Water and Fire," explained Novi.

"So how did you find out about your powers?" asked Vida.

"I showed signs when I was a kid, and a Sensei from the Elemental Academy came when I was nine and tested me to see which elements, I had the potential for and a couple weeks later I was sent to the academy to learn how to control them. That why I was in Briarwood before."

"Hey, check it out," said Vida pointing at Novi.

Novi looked down and noticed that while they had been talking it had calmed her down and the flames that had surrounded her were gone. She closed her hands and felt the warmth disperse.

"Oh my god. Thank you," said Novi grabbing Vida and pulling her into a hug. She suddenly realized what she had done and pulled away, lowering her head as she felt her cheeks grow warm.

"See I told you we could figure it out," said Vida with a smile putting an arm around her shoulders. "We better head back to Rootcore and see if the others found a way to get Nick back or at least locate where he is."

"That's what I was trying to do as well. I hoped that if I could increase my fire power, I'd be able to track Nick, but I got so panicked when I lost control I don't know if it worked or not. I'm too scared to attempt it again," said Novi.

"Don't worry. I'm sure we can figure out how to bring him back," said Vida.

Back at Rootcore it was clear the others were no closer to finding Nick or a way to bring him back as there were books scattered on every surface and the teens looks frustrated.

"Where have you been?" asked Xander when he saw them.

"I was trying a spell to find Nick, but it kinda backfired," said Novi flicking a pleading look at Vida.

"Yeah, and I was helping her out with the spell," explained Vida with a slight nod at her.

"Well did it work? Because we've got nothing," said Chip hopefully.

"No, I wasn't able to locate him unfortunately," said Novi and Chip's face fell.

"There has to be a way," said Vida.

"Well, if there is, it isn't in any of these books," snapped Xander.

Feeling defeated the five teens left Rootcore and heading into the forest. Vida picked up a stick and hit a nearby tree in frustration then flung the stick into the woods.

"I can't wrap my head around it, Nick's gone, really gone," said Vida.

"Well technically, he's just gone from this dimension," started but he stopped as everyone turned to look at him. "Technically."

"Not helpful Chip," said Novi with a smile.

"There's got to be something we can do to get him back," Said Maddie.

"Yeah, but even Udonna didn't have an answer. Nicks in real trouble this time," said Xander come up from behind them.

Suddenly Phineas dropped from tree above them.

"Nick's in trouble," he asked turning to face them.

"OH, hey Phineas, yeah Nick is in serious trouble," started Novi.

You know him?" asked Maddie.

"Who is he?" asked Xander.

"More like what is he," said Vida.

"His name is Phineas, and he is a troblin. Thats a cross between a troll and a goblin," Novi explained.

"You must be the one Nick told us about. But he didn't say you would be so…so freaky," said Chip.

"Oh, stop it, I'm blushing. Come on, come on, give me a hug," said Phineas trying to pull chip into a hug but Chip pushed him away.

Novi laughed at this.

"OK too soon. Ooh…Girls. I love that," said Phineas indicating to Maddie's cape. "Oh, what's this about Nick being in trouble?"

"He's trapped in an evil dimension and there is nothing we can do to get him out," explained Maddie.

"Oh yeah, well I guess giving up is the right thing to do. No point in getting up, just to fall back on your face again, I always say," said Phineas.

"Hey, hold on, we didn't say, we were giving up," snapped Xander.

"Oh, my mistake, so your moping around here with the long faces is actually helping Nick. yeah, I get things wrong sometimes," said Phineas.

"He's right. Walking around feeling helpless isn't going to bring Nick back.

"Yeah."

"I agree," said Xander.

We have to at least try again. Maybe there is something we overlooked," said Novi with a renewed feeling of hope.

"After all, we are Power Rangers," said Chip.

"Thanks Phineas, you really helped put thing in perspective," said Novi as she walked past him.

"Nominiminiminous Rox" muttered Xander.

"Did it work?" asked Chip as he and Novi walked over.

"No and I even winked," said Xander.

"Okay, let's try this one. It's supposed to contact lost loved ones," said Chip flipping open his wand, he aimed it at the crystal ball. "Colinog Trebanage," but nothing happened.

"Hey, don't get frustrated, just keep trying," said Maddie calmly.

"Hey guys," said Vida calling them over. "It says here 'A spell of transport is a one-way deal unless a source and reverse the seal." Vida read the book in front of her.

"Ooh goodie, a riddle," said Maddie excitedly.

"Reverse the seal? But how?" asked Chip.

"Hey Vida, remember that record you told me about, the one you loved to use for scratching?" asked Novi.

"Yeah, when you played it backwards it had different lyrics," replied Vida clearly unsure where Novi was going with this.

"What if you say the spell Koragg used backwards, it might release Nick."

"It's worth a try at this point. Does anyone remember the spell Koragg used?" Vida asked.

"It was something like Fedachini Alfredo!" offered Chip. The others looked at him. "It was!" he defended.

Suddenly the gong sounded, and the teens looked in the ball to see a new monster was in the city.

"Looks like we're gonna have to deal with this first," said Xander.

"Chip keep thinking you have to remember that spell," said Maddie.

"Pepperchini all-dayo!" said Chip.

"Ready!"

"Magical Source, Mystic Force!"

Once in the city center the five teens stopped the monster terrorizing civilians.

"Come on, let's get him," said Xander but before they could attack the monster, he spoke to them.

"Let's make this interesting!" and they noticed a glowing gold ball in his hands.

"Oh no, he has our Megazord powers," said Novi.

They could only watch as the creature grew larger and larger until he towered above them.

"Galwit Mystio Provior!"

"Mystic Titans!"

Novi was the first to charge that the creature, but he swatted her away like she was an annoying fly. Xander and Maddie tried next but were also knocked away.

"Boulder Blast!" called the creature as he launched several large boulders at them, knocking them to the ground.

"We can't take much more of this," said Xander.

"Without Nick or the Megazord power, we don't have much of a choice," said Novi.

Suddenly the creature was stood over them ready to strike them.

"I remembered the spell, it was Basilichi Infredo!" said Chip excitedly.

"Well than say it backwards," urged Vida.

"Oderfni Ihcilisab?" said Chip hoping he pronounced it right.

Just then a dark spell seal appeared and Nick in his titan form appeared ride on the back of Catastros.

"Go Catastros," Nick urged the horse forward towards the creature.

"Look it's Nick," said Vida in delight.

"Hey guys, need a little help?" asked Nick.

"Centaurus Phoenix Megazord!" he called out.

Novi and the others watched as he combined with Catastros into a new formation.

"Whoa!" Novi breathed in surprise.

"This is how it's done, Red Ranger style," said Nick charging up the duel saber similar to the one Koragg had when in that form.

"Boulder Blast!" said the creature as he tried to strike Nick, but Nick deflected the boulders and struck the creature. It exploded on impact.

As it exploded a golden orb floated out and hovered in the air before breaking into six different colored orbs that matched their ranger colors and it formed a spell seal before the orbs floated to the respective rangers.

"Alright, we have our combining power back," cheered Novi.

"We can kick some evil butts," said Vida joining in.

"Thanks, Catastros," said Nick patting what would be the horse's mane in response the horse reared on his hind legs and Nick slid off the back on the horse, landing on the ground.

"Hey, wait!" called Nick but the horse galloped to where Koragg had been watching the battle.

"Sumbol unithos equestras!"

"Catastros rides with me!" said Koragg.

"NO!" said Nick getting to his feet. "But I thought he had changed!"

"I don't know how you were able to combine with my might Catastros, but I promise you I will find out. Something about you is troubling," said Koragg studying Nick.

"I don't understand. What are you talking about?" asked Nick confused.

"We will meet again, Red Ranger," said Koragg and with that he was gone.

"Not many can say that have ridden the mighty Catastros. Thats quite an impressive," said Udonna once the teens had arrived back at Rootcore.

"Yeah, it was pretty amazing. Even though he probably only let me ride him because I helped him out," said Nick.

"Yes, unfortunately the next time you meet Catastros, you will be enemies again. But you conquered your fear and were rewarded," said Udonna proudly.

"Don't forget about the others, they really came through for me when it counted."

"Apparently they had help from a troblin friend of your," said Udonna with a laugh.

"Phineas, man if you'd have told me, I'd be hanging out with a magical sorceress and a half troll/half goblin, I'd have never believed it," said Nick.

"Your journey is just beginning. There are many adventures ahead for all of us."
